The owners are so gracious and remembered me from when I served them at another restaurant in Denton lol On top of the covid precautions and social distancing in place, the food and overall ambience was amazing! I ordered the French toast and my boyfriend got the tuna sandwich and we were both impressed to say the least!!! The coffee was very yummy and the cups were so cute! The entire diner theme you can tell is very original in itself and charming! I canβt wait to be back :)
Wow! The most amazing food I have had in YEARS! All fresh, from scratch, homemade and homestyle food! The couple (a retired military officer and a retire nurse) who own and run this restaurant are welcoming and wonderful people. I also really appreciated the honor of a place-setting for our service men and women.The food is incredible. The pies even more so! So rich, smooth, and delicious. The portions are wonderfully generous. The loaded fries were covered in chunks of beef and real cheese! The cheeseburger (which we ate before I could get a photo, lol) was rich with flavor.Last, but by no means least, I really, really, really appreciate the Covid precautions still in place. As a first responder, I want to thank Legends for prioritizing the lives of our community rather than the politics of the day. This is also the first - and only - restaurant I have felt comfortable taking my 60+ mom out to since this pandemic began. Thank you for giving us delicious food and a great safe space.
This is an adorable 50s style diner. The food was home cooked fresh. Our waitress, Melissa was so warm and friendly and anticipated all of our needs. I was hesitant to order the Frito Pie because I can easily make that at home, but I had no regrets. It was homemade chili that made a difference. Also it was a giant portion. I will definitely be back.
Tried it for the first time just now. It really is homemade cooking. The burger was a tad dry, but the western omelet was very tasty! The atmosphere is very nice and the staff are sweet people. I highly recommend their lemon meringue pie and you have to try their ice cream soda! Definitely worth a visit.
Super pancakes... Love the crispy bacon as I ordered... The pies are delicious... You can get a bag of pieces from the crusty part of the pies for snack... Health protocols in place..staff is attentive to your needs. I recommend this place.
Had the blue plate special which changes every day. Friday is fried fish and it was very good. Ill definitely be coming back to try some of the other options.
Good food and plenty of it. Friendly staff and a fun 1950s diner vibe makes for an enjoyable meal. The pancakes are huge. The coffee cake was amazing. Word of warning. This may not be the best choice for dieters. The portions are generous. Take a friend (maybe two) and split a plate.
Food was good. Largest pancakes i have ever seen, and the coffee cups were generous. I dont think I will go back however. They add 3.25% for credit cards, but not for debit or cash. My card was a debit card but i wasnt asked and immediately charged the fee for credit.
Hands down best burgers Iβve had in all of North Texas! Extremely generous portions and stellar service! All around fabulous atmosphere and beautiful people! We will be back very soon!
Great place for Mothers Day breakfast with my wife. First time here, were in town for my daughters TWU graduation. Love the retro diner vibe and the food and service was excellent. Super friendly staff, good bargain, would definitely return.

Just went today for the first time with my boyfriend and it was soooooo DELICIOUS! Pam was super attentive and nice! The pancake is HUGE, bigger than the plate it came on! The owners are also super nice!10/10 would recommend!Also, support local businesses!

The wait staff was very friendly and helpful and quick. The food was good overall, though it was drowned in butter. The portions were large. I had the stuffed hashed browns, which were awesome, and took three quarters of it home (although, see below, I was afraid they were going to charge me a dollar for the to-go box).We also ordered pies. My mom and I each got two pies and wanted to halve and share them. The waitstaff, again, was super friendly and helpful, but then the owner/manager came over to tell us he cant cut the pies for us. Then he said he could cut them and transfer half of each, but he would charge us by the slice instead of for the whole pie. (What?) We said we would just cut them ourselves if he could provide a couple of extra boxes. He said sure, but to-go containers are $1 each. (What?) We ended up taking them home to cut up ourselves. The pies themselves were thick, heavy, and amazingly delicious. Theyre the real deal. Then we checked out, and he charged me $35 instead of the $30 he quoted me via email.The restaurant itself wasnt impressive. The booth seats were coated in some sort of waxy black stuff that came off on my hands and could not be brushed off. I had to wash my hands in the bathroom. The dΓ©cor was just pictures of old-time movie stars and singers and old cars in the bathroom. Its the kind of thing thats fun for the Cracker Barrel crowd, but its awfully boring atmosphere for anyone born after 1975.The place claims to be an old style diner, but isnt set up or decorated like an old style diner, its just an excuse for an outdated menu.The furniture is old, the dΓ©cor is old, and the owners attitude is very old-fashioned. Although the food was tasty, there are many other better restaurants in Denton, and we wont be returning. Except to buy a pie now and then. The pie was the best part of the experience, except for the ridiculous inconvenience about splitting them up.
The service here is beyond outstanding! Melissa is an absolute gem! The food is awesome! I will make it a priority to visit this establishment every time I visit Denton!
The employees DO NOT care about customers. They observe the need for refills, and watch you try to get their attention. They just flat out roll eyes, or sigh loudly, and mutter under their breath versus actually doing their jobs. The owners do nothing to ensure service will be better next time. All of this on top of soggy bland food definitely has convinced me to never come back to this establishments.

One of the best places that I have ever tried and the staff are just amazing! Veggie omelette is freshly made, super crispy hash brown plus a piece of chocolate cream pie at the end will put anyone in a good mood. Its a long drive from my house to Denton but Ill be back!!

Really great, classic diner experience. Mainly breakfast food ( we went during the weekend). Portions were huge, you get so much value for the price paid. The food tasted great and appeared to be all fresh and made to order. As for the customer service, it was awesome. The wait staff was extremely accommodating and the owners made a point to see to each table. The decor is 50s and 60s noir and is fun to look at. Wonderful experience overall.
OMG you have to visit this diner. Itβs homey and it have a 50/60/70βs theme. The owners are awesome! They are sweet and it warms my heart. The food is extraordinary. Katβs desserts are the best in Denton. If you havenβt been, you are missing out.

The decor and 59s trivia is cool. Food is ok, the meat for the cheese steak sandwich is cut too thick and over cooked, so was much tougher than I expected. Also the bread was charred rather than toasted, and covered with so much oil I just removed the bread and are the ready with a fork. My son enjoyed his burger. The pies looked great. Great service.
The food is fresh and the hamburgers are never frozen!! The milkshake is as authentic as it gets and the interior really takes you back in time. The sister of the owner served my boyfriend and I and she was the sweetest!!! She recommended the onion rings which WILL change your life. 10/10 keep on keeping on!!!
Order was messed up, food was just ok and then they charged us with an extra sandwich and something else for $2.50. When I questioned my bill they argued with me until they got the ticket from the waitress. Donβt bother.
Fun place to go for breakfast or lunch. Took our 6 grandchildren and our son for lunch. They loved the trivia questions and the music. Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Recommend it to everyone of all ages. Cant wait to go back when the juke box is working. Kids were fascinated with it.

The place was nice and clean. Space was not crowded and we asked for a booth where the music was not too loud so we could visit. We got it with a smile. Our waited, Melissa, was very attentive and made sure to get each order and special request just right. I tried chicken strips and fries and a drink all of it amounted to $12 ... i dont know how you mess up chicken so bad but they really did. its battered the same way as asian chicken, usually tastes better in some sauce, but this was bare. it was so bad, and even worse for the price. i really wanted to like it. i want to say youre paying for the experience but its not even that. having a themed diner doesnt and didnt justify the price and quality. the pies seemed overpriced as well. $5 for a slice. i try and support local business and understand that this is their first year so they have a lot to learn, but this was so bad that I question how they started in the first place and how their reviews are so good.

Fun little 50s themed diner that has some solid choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Got breakfast for my first time there and it was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Friendly staff that were attentive and welcoming. Looking forward to going back and trying their other options!

Great place with incredibly friendly owners and employees. Excellent food, neat old school diner feel, and very clean. Blue Plate specials are a fantastic value along with homemade pies, and delicious shakes and malts. Stuffed hashbrowns for breakfast are a filling and tasty signature dish. Right now you may have to fight some construction to get to it, but it is worth the effort.

Quaint little dinner. The food is cheap and you get a lot of it. I consider this a little greasy spoon, expect delicious oil/grease on your plate during breakfast. Hashbrowns are done right, nice and crispy. Bacon is thick. Like taking a small walk back in time. Love the fact they respect our fallen soldiers with a Missing Soldier Tribute Table. Looks like they have various soups of the day, today was cheeseburger soup.
Food was delicious, and just like I would have made at home (I ordered the BLT & fries). Jonathan was my server, prompt, courteous, professional. Recommended dessert so of course, had to have Pumpkin Pie (its November!). All around a wonderful experience and well worth the drive from Lewisville to try this diner. I have a penchant for diners, having traveled all over via motorcycle back in the day. Kudos on the ambiance, service and food.
Found it strange that my review was missing. My daughter and I went there when it first opened, clearly they were not ready for customers. I ordered chicken fried steak, it came with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn(?) the mashed potatoes were cold, the gravy was nasty and the menu didnβt mention corn with this meal. My daughter ordered open faced turkey sandwich which was covered in cold out of the can brown gravy to hide the fact they were using deli meat from Walmart (?) On a positive note, the chicken fried steak was not bad, but it didnβt make up for the rest of our mostly inedible food. After giving up on our meal, we tried the free cake, first few bites were not bad, but then I decided Iβd eat the cherry...it was without a doubtthe absolute worst tasting piece of drupe(s) Iβve every had. I thought before that it has to be relatives writingthese reviews, and now Iβm pretty sure it is, I just wonder how theyβve managed to stay open. π

First time in Denton, first time at Legends. Wow! The stuffed hashbrowns were amazing. Two meals out of this monster. The apple pie is punch your sibling in the face for the last piece worthy... super nice people too! Check it out.

Me and my sister went there yesterday January 16th 2020. When we first walked in it smelled like gasoline. I went to the restroom and the smell got even stronger like there may have been a gas leak somewhere. I got a chili dog and fries. That chili was disgusting I do not recommend it at all. The fries were good though. She got a club sandwich and fries and paid. 10 something for a small sandwich. Not worth the price. The theme is a cute idea but they need to work on the food and prices

Great little Denton Place. The burgers coming on Texas toast was a nice touch; the crinkle cut fries were crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. The open faced chili cheeseburger was excellent. Iβll definitely be coming back.
There is no place like it! Cool and entertaining atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious home cooking. The only challenge I encountered was saving room for dessert- this is a must! :)
Was okay if you like small town diners from the 1960s with a local person cooking that had no training. Edible, but not tasty. Will not eat there again, especially after I discovered a hair cooked into the yellow cake......

This place is awesome the food is wonderful she is such a good cook.Not a huge menu but you dont need one here Ive only tried the breakfast menu but I ordered a couple of her pies for Thanksgiving OMG they were awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO EAT DELICIOUS FOOD

Tried for the first time due to good reviews. Ordered breakfast. Sausage gravy was very sweet...too sweet to eat. When we said something we were told that it gets rave reviews. I asked the owner if hed tried it and he said I think men prefer sweet gravy and women dont. Ok...buh bye.

Amazing food! I spoke with the owner. Everything from pancakes to the pie crust are made from scratch, and you can taste the difference. I was here for breakfast and had the stuffed hashbrowns. I have always considered hashbrowns an unneeded side. Not here. Best hashbrowns I have ever eaten. I got the meal very quickly, and the server was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The menu goes with the theme of the restaurant- simple 50s diner. The daily Blue Plate Specials have intrigued me and I cant wait to try the Shepherds Pie on Thursdays lunch.
