Support the local gear shop. Canyon Outfitters is the perfect place to stop for that one thing you left back home, or didn’t know you needed. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the selection is great.
Great shop for anyone needing anything hiking, camping, outdoors or backpacking related. Worth the drive from any nearby town. If you are up from Phoenix or from anywhere out of town and need any supplies, this shop has it all! You can always call ahead and ask if they have what you need. The owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent customer service. I will definitely be stopping back in for any of my hiking, camping or backpacking essentials! 👍
Great place to go for anything hiking or camping. The staff are well knowledged and friendly. Great equipment and price isnt too bad.
We came by here today on a whim and were greeted by two very friendly staff members. They have a lot of cool outdoors supplies at reasonable prices, and a really neat selection of useful bandanas! I got one with snake identifiers on it, but there were others, like for emergency preparedness, cloud identifiers, etc etc. Also, I really appreciate that they are requiring masks in store! I’m really glad we stopped in here and I would recommend them to anyone visiting the area! Thank you again to Canyon Outfitters :)
Great outfitter store - reasonable prices! Usually in vacation towns they’ll gouge you because they can but their prices were on par with big outdoor retailers. The woman at checkout was really nice and very helpful. Gave lots of recommendations on other places to find things people were looking for. Def recommend!
Great outdoor store! A small space filled with everything you need to venture outside.
Steve the attendant demanded I put on a mask upon entry. Maintaining my composure I asked nicely if he had any (like any store requiring masks will offer)He coarsely replied NoI went out and got a mask.Returning he asked what I need. I said an 8 man tent and sleeping bags and etc.. like everything.. I was literally about to spend at least 1000 bucks right there. Any way he saidWe dont carry anything like that (8 man tent)Pretty sure the door made a loud noise on my way out.Ive had enough. If youre gonna enforce masks, be polite, and offer one. Its a very small investment compared to the massive loss of paying customers due to ridiculously poor customer service
Rude owner! Just go spend money at The Hike House. Much better experience.
Needed particular equipment in larger size... they had exactly what I wanted. Well stocked with hiking gear!
Very good selection prices are a little high but quality is there. Never said they inflated prices but you’re not going to find a bargain either
Asked for assistance with a purchase and got little help then went to make a return the next day because the merchandise broke. The women stated that my bank card and online account statement were not enough for a return. So much for the guarantee, was able to exchange and spend even more money at her store. Wish I had gone to hiking house instead the guy there was super nice and knowledgeable.Canyon outfitters is NOT helpful in any way!!! Spend your money somewhere else!In reply to your response: first of all, you told us they wouldn’t work after we came back to return them. we told you exactly where we were going hiking, at the Grand Canyon. we asked what would work best due to the snow and ice. we followed your suggestion. So shame on you for not being knowledgeable enough to tell us those would break, after all that is your job, right? You would have known that the Grand Canyon was a mix of ice and dirt. Yes you are welcome for that extra dollar, considering we spent over $130 in your shop. The shop has nice stuff, such a shame you don’t know how to manage it! After reviewing your replies to your MANY BAD reviews I also strongly suggest that you take some business and customer service classes, you are in desperate need of them.I wish I had google searched and found there was a REI not far from the Grand Canyon. So many better options then dealing with you!
Very nice and helpful people. They had exactly what we needed.
Small place run by very friendly and helpful people. Priced reasonable considered the location. I found what I was looking for. Some good hiking shoes.I can recommend the place.
On our first day in from Chicago, My husband and I stopped here in hopes of some helpful tips about the area and to ask for a recommendation for a great hike that would suit our 5 young children. Unfortunately, what we got were brief, unenthusiastic responses. My children noticed right away that the employees did not appreciate them even being in the store. I was very disappointed.
Excellent local store for hiking, climbing etc. needs. Super friendly staff and very helpful. Derek was also amazing giving us the low down on all the amazing hiking trails, geology info and whats what in Sedona. Highly recommended!
Just got off the phone with Scott. I am traveling to another area away from Sedona and he gave me great advice regarding water filter treatment in the backcountry. Thanks again. Would recommended to anyone traveling through.
Terrible selection and waaay too overpriced... Every pair of shoes was over $100..So sick of tourist towns overinflating the prices
The men working here went out of their way to help us, had an excellent selection of shoes and socks and couldnt have been friendlier or more knowledgeable and helpful. Awesome experience shopping here.
If youre in Sedona and need gear for the outdoors, look no further. Theres also the Hike House, but this place had more gear and less clothes.
Best hat selection!
Great place for hiking and outdoor activities. Staff is very knowledgeable.
Best selection of outdoor gear in town!
You will not get this level of knowledge or expertise with a chain outfitting store. The teenager needed some help with his boots after some serious foot pain after a 8.5 mile hike. After a complete lesson in sock shopping, boot tying and foot anatomy (yes, Holly broke out the skeleton foot display) we then started the process of finding the right inserts. A very thorough investigation resulted in discovery of his high arches (who knew there was shoe length and arch length?!) and after some experimentation, we walked away very happy customers. I would have bought the wrong item on Amazon, I would have been frustrated at REI (where we bought the boots originally) and in no way would I have learned as much as I did without Holly. Can’t recommend this place enough.
The staff was polite and answered all the questions I had about hiking gear I was looking for, and able to provide recommendation based on experiences they had with the gear. I ended up buying a backpack and water bladder, and I am very happy with both.
Staff very helpful.
Awesome little outdoors shop in Sedona. They may not have multiple of everything but they seem to have everything!
Website doesnt work and no search menu for products. Not good business
We call it a mini REI. We stop here everytime we are in Sedona. Love supporting local businesses! Great service!
Great find. Being from out of town. It is the go to place.
First rate hiking gear!! Always helpful and friendly staff to answer all your questions.
We visited this store twice in a week. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They carry a wide variety of products with varied price points and we found their inventory (Camelbaks) replenished on our second visit. Score! Masks were on and sanitizer available. Great store!
This shop has a good selection of hiking equipment and clothes. The problem and low rating comes from the two employees that were working at the time of my visit. It was one of those places where you walk in with kids and the employee instantly write you off as a problem. Their negative energy is extremely apparent and off putting. So instead if supporting this shop I took my money to the internet and ordered the same pants and pack I would have picked up from in store.
We went here a couple times over our stay in Sedona and loved it. My brother was looking for a water bladder and found exactly what he was looking for. They’re reasonably priced, carry a great variety of brands, and the employees were very helpful. As avid hikers, we found this store to carry more of what we needed at a much better price than other outdoor stores in Sedona.
Good sports store, not a wide selection of items but good enough to take a look at. Kinda pricy. Nice maps of the area available.
Very helpful, made sure I found what I needed and took the time to make sure I understood everything I needed to.
Called for some canyon info. Steve says don’t know. Asked is someone else may. Says I’ll ask. Hold the phone for 30 sec and says no. You suck dude.
Great spot to go in and get those last minute equipment buys. Great selection and knowledgeable staff!
Very friendly staff! Unfortunately a Sedona price tag added. Expensive. Paid $160 for an outdoor light down feather vest. Silly me to not reject the offer. Yes! The vest is very nice and I love it! Best wishes to you and your truly beautiful city!
Great customer service, spending close to 20 minutes helping my husband find new hiking boots. Better selection and competitive pricing compared to some of the big box stores and most definently more helpful.
Me & my wife stopped in to get some apparel for hiking. They had a decent selection of women’s shoes & the customer service was great when she was trying on some shoes which we ended up purchasing. We then went upstairs to the men’s section; once upstairs we were completely forgot about which is strange considering we were literally the only two people in the store. We did find exactly what we needed though but paid a pretty price for everything. They also dont offer any military discount which would be understandable being a bigger store but in a mom & pop shop like this one doesn’t make much sense to me.
The woman that waited on us was so helpful, knowledgeable and patient with our group. She cared that the shoes and clothing fit properly and correctly. She answered every question we had. I will return and definitely recommend Canyon Outfitters to everyone interested in purchasing hiking clothing, shoes and anything to do with hiking.
Didnt buy anything but loved the store, they have a wide selection of outdoor accessories!
Make use of every square inch. Appreciate the guys help in picking out quality items. Salesmanship is a lost art
The guys at this store was fantastic, very knowledgable, and friendly!
Excellent Customer Service. They really listened to what I was looking for and made perfect suggestions for what I needed. Very happy with the 3 items I bought. Loved the charm and personal svc of this small business. They have quality products. 2 floors of merchandise. Recommend!
When I walked into this place, I thought, wow, how small. But everything I was looking for and more, they had. Plus, I was unaware of the second floor. Two thumbs up.
Needed some supplies we forgot to take with us from back east, no problem got what we needed and some great advice. Pick up even more supplies and some great hiking routes from the knowledgeable staff. We were here 2 yrs ago with same great service. Service is key.
This place is amazing. It looks small, but they have a great selection of high quality gear and clothes. The staff is amazingly friendly and super knowledgeable.I wish we had a place like this back home!
Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We’ve just relocated to the area from Chicago and spent probably an hour in the store chatting and buying hiking shoes that we were very happy with. We went to a trail recommended by Christy right from the store and our shoes were extremely comfortable. Will be going back there for sure!
Very cool shop, friendly employees, A+. Sedona is lucky to have this place.
Really great place to get hiking/camping gear. Nice little mom and pop shop. The employees are super knowledgeable and helpful.
Had a great selection at reasonable prices. The guys were really friendly.
Friendly and good selection.
Nice selection
The best part was how nice the employees were. I look forward to visiting again.
Very nice guys and very nice stuff
Excellent service and great variety of inventory! Very knowledgeable and helpful in equipping you for your outdoor adventure.
Very friendly staff great items will shop again
Yes its full retail, however as other reviewers have mentioned, if you need it Canyon Outfitters will have it, ready to go. A surprisingly wide selection for such a small store. Ive been a cusatomer for over 25 years and swear by their customer service.
Limited inventory but they cover everything cool outdoor company. Knowledgeable of the country around Sedona. Good prices.
The product selection is excellent, I dont come here for the service I come here for the gear! Nice small local shop with great selection of gear! For me, within walking distance.
Very helpful and knowledgeable. Wide variety of merchandise. Would definitely shop there again.
Great store for picking up hiking gear. Great ultralight selection.
Very nice store with a wide variety of clothes, footwear and outdoor gear. Excellent customer service.
We stop in whenever we are in Sonoma. Great selection and friendly service.
This is the best hiking and outfitting store in Sedona by far. The staff is knowledgeable and the products stocked are all of excellent quality. These are great local people who are not there to impress you, they are there to provide you with quality products are reasonable prices.
Excellent shop. Could have more choice bit great for what it is!
Very informative guys and good service
Clutch! Stopped in looking for a smallpc of climbing gear that we needed and the gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful!
Went here to pick up a new Buff since I forgot mine at home. Was also pleased to find some of my usual trail snacks & fuel, and my husband picked up a good sun hat. This is the kind of store that has a couple of options for just about anything you need for hiking in Sedona. It’s not huge, though, so don’t go in expecting REI-level selection. Service was just fine.
Very helpful and informative staff. With a very clean organized selection of outdoor gear. Found everything i needed. Dont forget to play the 🐖 game.
Experience at the store doesnt match the statement on their own website regarding product selection or staff knowledge. This is an emergency resupply store. Forgot your hat at home, need moisture wicking undies, lost your water bottle, boots came apart? They got a replacement thatll do. This is not a place to shop when you are building your outdoor gear set however.Brand selection lacks severely, and so the variety of function suffers. One brand doesnt usually offer wide range of characteristics in their gear.Staff knowledge is another issue. Two ladies working there do not have decades of combined outdoor experience by a long shot, but they do know their store.Asked for a tarp, and was informed that they knew what a tarp was before I could explain that I didnt want the blue kind you cover your lawnmower with.Theres an amazing outdoor store called Peace Surplus in Flagstaff only a scenic drive away.
Quaint little high tech support!
Absolutely wonderful people, great service, and tons to pick from!! Highly recommend!
Good service, picked up some great hiking shorts
Gentleman up there helped a lot with decision. Really nice shop as well!
Grest friendly staff and a amazing selection of gear and clothes
Great location, smallish store but packed with all the clothing, shoes, and accessories you need for hiking in Sedona.
Good gear fair prices. Good helpful people
Great store but not stocked well on shoe inventory.
Visiting from out of state and called to ask for a recommendation for a hike and I was told to go find a map, didnt think I would be such an inconvenience for such a smug clerk. If I am in need of gear, I will go without before setting foot in this establishment.
Although they had a good selection, the help was horrible! She was NOT interested in helping, she just wanted to sit behind the counter. The Hike House sent me over because they didnt have my size. I can see why the Hike House was so busy and they werent.
The service at this store has always been appalling, except when Gary is there. Hes the only staff who will even say hello. On the plus side, they have a good selection of books.
Good buys and friendly Dales people.
Great store, good prices and selection. Very friendly.
Fabulous service - very knowledgeable.
Excellent outdoor gear for a store with a small footprint.
The service here is awful. We went in yesterday. We would have purchased more than we did but both women working made us feel horribly uncomfortable. They were condescending when asking them any questions. Will never go there again or recommend. If the owner reads this you lost at least $300 in sales yesterday. We only bought a pair of pants, has and water bottle. We needed the mole skin, first aid kits, water pills, hiking polls, etc. would not spend another dime there.
Welcoming. Great customer service. Not a lot of options or i would give it 5 stars
Great store, great service! Prices are not inflated just because it is sedona....fair prices.
Great staff!!! Superior store and merchandise!!
Great products
Great little sporting goods store! About the only one in Sedona! 😅
Friendly knowledgeable people, perfect for what we needed
Very helpful
Great selection
