This is a good place for video games and retro consoles and games and card based games. Th hey are the combination of Bro grim card game store and the Play and Trade video game store from Bayshore. Well Worth the pass by!

I’ve been in and out of Grimm since I was 18. I’m now 30. 12 years of being a customer. Years of playing table tops with my skaven army and sitting with friends as they played magic all to be turned down on a pre-order saying it was for loyal customers.(there was no demand for the preorder at the time, I was turned down the day before saying it was only for tournament players where they only received 1 pre-order) I could’ve probably gotten past this if it wasn’t absolutely rude how he said it. I tried to reason a little till I realized this “owner” wouldn’t even look me in the eye. They literally have my friends in pictures on their walls and one even has part of my head and shoulder. I was very disappointed by the treatment especially at a place that looks like a disheveled thrift shop. It lacks major organization and also proper management with people skills. 12 years of loyalty can go right out the window since I don’t seem to be loyal customer (spent about $300 and the very next day $400 to be told in that same day “loyal customers only”) I’ll always urge people to go somewhere else. Rip and ship arena is worth the drive. Never again with Grimm! Never.

It was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had shopping somewhere. I kindly asked to see a specific Yu-Gi-Oh! card they had on display and the balding dude with glasses behind the counter complained and said “I was hoping it wasn’t going to be that one” when I told him it was on the bottom shelf. He then threw the card at me, got upset when I didn’t want the card and literally threw the card with force back at the shelf like a child throwing a tantrum. Couldn’t believe it. But then again, considering my skin tone, it wasn’t that hard to believe.

They sold me resealed pokemon packs when i brought awarness to it they got rude with me saying how is it possible to open them and pack them properly when i showed them the evidence cleary how the pack was just opened a minute ago and the staff was rude and got very offended i wasnt blaming them for the packs i know they get them from distributors so i wasnt saying it was them but the staff got super defensive quick and rude dont come here get your pokemon cards elsewhere

Every time Ive gone to this store its always a problem. If its not the employees (who clearly have awful people skills) giving an attitude to customers, theyre trying to rip you off on trades when they see someone they can take advantage of. Im sure its a great environment for the cult of customers that practically live there but when it comes to someone who wants to just poke around/explore the gaming world and is an outsider dont even bother.

They remodeled during the shutdown and the place looks great. Everything is clean easy to find. The employees are helpful and know there games. I try to support my local hobby shop.

Horrible experience.Went in to buy some single cards, was instantly met with an attitude. The man running the counter seemed annoyed and was extremely brash when asked simple questions (Im 31 years old..they were simple questions..) I felt rushed, unwelcomed and didnt even get to look at any of the heavy hitter cards I was interested in buying (roughly $400 in pokemon singles).They had good prices on singles. But I work hard for my money. And wont be giving them any more of mine.

Amazing staff on February 28th i took my son here to buy Pokémon Cards. The staff was not only amazing and helpful but helped us pick out a binder along with some packs for my little guy to get started along with some single cards. I really want to thank you guys for giving my little guy a little gift like free cards and their giant card versions of those cards it really made his day. I highly recommend this store the staff is amazing.

Large friendly shop with lots of tables to reserve for game play. They sell Warhammer miniatures and the like, as well as other tabletop gaming supplies {paints, dice, etc.). Can bring your own food.

This store has the best selection of sealed product, TCG singles, and video games on Long Island. No other store can match their inventory. Whether you are into board games, trading card games, or role playing games, they have something for everyone. However, the customer service could be better.

This is an edit for the review I left earlier. Spoke with the owner Gil and he was extremely helpful. Definitely earned the 5 stars just for that alone. Had a problem with a purchase and he helped me resolve it. Will continue to support and happily play at this shop.

Ive been going here since before 2014 and its always so friendly, can get pricy so quickly because I play different games from cards to a girl DnD group now. I have made many friends here and brought in friends too.

Theyre nice people and what seems like a good environment. I have never been disrespected or unhelped. But theres not a heck of a lot of product in some games, a little over priced and they dont pay well for cards. The prices they give are 100% rubbish. The owner told me the percentage they take off and how to look up the prices. I was also told how they apply the percentage. Every time I do the math and go to sell cards there I get underhanded by a lot. Crazy. I use there own math to calculate there value and still get way less. Smh. They claim to pride them selves in honest value and sales but this is clearly not the case in everyway. I dont want to feel this way because theyre nice people but its how I feel. Its my experience with them. I might buy occasionally there but selling is probably not a good idea.

I decided to get my pokemon cards aappraised tonight an took between 3-4 hours of a certain employees time. Let me tell you this guy took his time and looked at what every card sold for and what people are asking then gave me a realistic store price for him to sell it at and an extremely generous price he would give me for it. (They have overhead and cards sit until collectors walk in, blah blah blah we all watched pawn stars. I expected 25-30% of retail value...MUCH MORE!!) I have well over 300 GX, EX, 1ST edition base set, promo cards and this guy checked multiple sites and compared what theyre going for and the last one sold for, ect...ONE BY ONE! Amazing service!!! The entire time he was doing this he was on the register, answering phone calls, answering customers questions. This guy was just amazing. Even told me reasons as to why I should or shouldnt sell multiple times throughout these few hours. My ultimate decision was not to sell and build my investment now that I know its a lot more than I thought. With that I felt guilty and offered him 60 bucks for his time. HE REFUSED! Said he was more than happy spending the time with me and that he is just happy I know what my investment over the years is worth and told me he wouldnt accept. Out of good conscious I cant accept that answer and insisted (several times) buy him dinner at least. This shop is absolutely the most honest buy and sell establishment I have been in. Ive been going here for what seems like a lifetime. I believe they were formerlyunder a different name.I normaly get magic cards, but also get the occasional board games. The late hours are very convenient. Ive never actually played there though, despite wanting to. It has all the things I want.Unfortunately, the place needs a major cleaning, organizing, and ventilation/air freshener. This is why I withheld 1 star. I feel like these aspects have never been addressed.

My boyfriend and I always come here for our DND stuff, whether it be minis or terrain or books, they always have a huge selection and there’s nowhere else we go :) Love the atmosphere

I love Grim. The owner is someone Ive done business personally and has been very fair in his buying prices. Even willing to negotiate which is really great.The place has LOTS of war gaming, magic the gathering, tables for use, etc. Perhaps it could do with a bit better lighting because it can feel like a basement at times.

They definitely need Stanley cleaner to come in and clean these grungy carpets. That being said the crowd is great. The employees for the most part are also helpful. The selection of games, whether its card games, board games or collectibles. The selection is large and fair priced. Its also probably the largest game store in Suffolk. If you play card or board games of any sort you owe it to yourself to at least give it a look.

Singelhandedly the best game store in Long Island. If your within 100 miles and have yet to be here, you are missing a staple within the gaming community. Whether it is Magic the Gathering, miniatures, Pokemon, or any other game, you will not be disappointed.

The place is Fantastic to go and hang out, meet people with similar interests. Tend to go in to take a look at the newest Board games theyve got in stock to add to my collection. The selection of titles of a variety of types and genres is pretty good, the major card games and Table-Top Miniatures are all there along with some of the smaller underground titles as well.Definitely a neat place to check out if youre into that type of gaming. Recommended entirely.

Went here when I was younger, building could use a bit of an update but the service and selection here is phenomenal for your local gaming/hobby store. The owner Gil was nothing short of one of the most friendly/jolly guys Ill ever of known. Thanks Brothers Grim for promoting these genres of gaming in the local area still.

Amazing experience owner actually cares about customers

We went in for the first time yesterday and we were very impressed with the service. The store isnt the best looking and to me the area seems a little questionable but once youre inside its a very different feeling. We were greeted by a friendly staff. We werent hounded/pushed to buy anything. And we had children with us and they trusted them enough to not follow us around the store. They listened to us and were very knowledgeable about what we could purchase. All in all it was a great experience. We are definitely going back.

I am a regular customer here. The manager, Gil, is friendly and very helpful. Staff greet me when I arrive and always help me find things when Im having trouble. Ive also gotten great tabletop game recommendations as the staff is very knowledgeable. Dont forget to support local shops!

My friends and I have been going to this shop for many years and havent had a problem. The area is spacious, the staff and customers are generally friendly, and something that is probably most important to some of you is that they always have what I need in stock.As far as prices go, theyre fairly accurate to what it should be. Only here or there have I seen anything priced too high, and usually you can talk them down a few bucks if this is the case.Overall my favorite card shop.

Grim is a great place if youre looking for a table top/card gaming community. Tons of events and competitions. Always stocked with cards, board games, d&d guides, minis, paint, supplies and even computers for online games.

Staff has recently begun to grow a bit more kind. In past, they were rude, and half the reason we didnt want to go. Starting to get better. Prices are usually pretty fair. If you want to sell a card, theyll give you more in store credit, too.

Friendly Staff. Fun games and activities for adolescents and older. Organized gaming events.Grimm has long been the go-to-place for communal gaming. There are many tables that are open for anyone to sit and play without the need of a reservation or purchase, but remember it cant stay free without your patronage.Card games like MTG, board games, war hammer, D&D, MMO through networked computers, and a large variety of other games can be found here at reasonable prices.Cleanliness is lacking. The playing tables, which are plastic folding tables are worn, discolored, and could use a little TLC and a bottle of Windex. The Bathroom is usually always in piss poor condition (no pun intended 😉). The toilet always looks like the person before you had some bad Taco Bell, and 9 times out of ten there is either no toilet paper or paper towels available.

Best Gaming store around. The people who run the game events and even the other players make people of all ages new to the hobby feel welcome.

Great place to find all your tabletop game needs, sit down to play some MtG, play some miniature games. I wish I got to spend more time there then I do.

Pretty fun place. Most prices are reasonable and they are willing to explain prices over msrp. The staff is usually pretty friendly and I feel they either put more focus on making the store a personal experience or they just cant be bothered to maintain an expected level of professionalism, but more often then not they seem to be a pretty good store and being the only game shop around means I cant hate them too much. Its a tough market.

Got there when they opened, the clerk was super helpful. Theyre the only store in the area for tabletop RPGs, but definitely a nice place.

Pro: a nice big space to play DND and CCGs.Cons: its pretty dumpy looking in there. I went in to browse and it was rows of folding tables, a small section of tabletop games at high prices, two walls dedicated to rpg models, also a massive bank of CPUs. Its run down and has the smell of unwashed bodies.Overall, if youre looking to find a place for play in tourneys, and dont mind how run down it is, then this might be your place. But they definitely alienate casual board gamers as a result. I wont be going back.

Extremely unhelpful. Went in to get assistance to start building a mtg deck and got no help. Basically giving a not caring attitude to new customers. Would never go back again.

The people who work here are all very nice, and most of the people who frequent are too. I come here for the MTG trading, drafts, prereleases, and tournaments. Lots of tables for any tabletop game. They also have computers you can rent for gaming, Pokemon events, yugioh events, and vanguard. There is an entire portion of the store dedicated to miniatures and D&D. The store buys and sells individual cards and packs for reasonable prices. Cafe Gia delivers to the store, and its within walking distance of Taco Bell. The store sells refreshments behind the counter too. Great environment, clean, and welcoming to all players.

Used to come here a long time ago. Ive heard that magic is greatly appreciated here to all magic card game lovers. LAN parties are especially fun varying in Dota 2, League of Legends, even to Age of Civilizations. The community is fun, close, and very experienced. One of the best hang out spots for closet nerds across long island. They are normally open all night and there is a killer indian resturant next store. Your gonna love it.

The staff here is hit or miss. A bit on the pricey side but it’s a decent place to play.

They frequently host tournaments for Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer, and other tabletop games. Even when theyre not holding a tournament, they let people come in, hang out, and socialize. They let you bring your own games, or you can browse through their extensive selection and buy some.They have desktop computers in the back (which I assume are rented by the hour), so you can play MMOs, Counterstrike, Minecraft, or any other PC games they have available.They sell snacks & soft drinks, but they dont make a fuss if you bring your own food, either.Overall, this is a really great place to go for any tabletop gaming enthusiasts to meet like-minded people, or to just have a good time with friends.
