I chose this place because it’s close to my house and they were the only shop in my area to return my call. I needed some important repairs done and I gave em a try. They explained in detail that it would be a week or more before they got to it. I was ok with that and actually expected it to take a longer. I did read all the reviews but come on when it comes to this kind of stuff you never know what they are going to find inside. Surprisingly they had my boat done in the exact amount of time they told me and they did the work for 30% less than one other place I talked to. I even let them go ahead and install a new kicker marine audio system in because the price he gave me compared to what I had found on my own was way too good to pass up. The audio sounds great. They even kept all of the old parts they replaced to show me what they had done. You other people that have left negative reviews maybe not telling the whole story. I certainly haven’t experienced anything of that nature here at Sand Bar. I’m happy and as long as they keep it this way with me they will have my business! Thanks Shannon and crew!
As a first time boat owner I was taken advantage of by a couple of other larger companys before being referred to The Sand Bar.. I Definitely recommend this place. Not only did they work with me on the cost for the repairs, but they will teach and explain things to you in order to help prevent costly repairs in the future. If you own a boat you already know the cost of upkeeping it.. These guys will take care of you. Solid work, and better prices.. Ill never go anywhere else... I want to strongly warn everyone from entrusting Sand Bar with your equipment and lives. They lack integrity, responsibility, and commitment. You equipment will be worse off than when it went to their shop and cost you more than agreed, and be their longer than they said it would be. These people only want your money and care nothing about your safety. They will seek to justify their work and blame the customer for miscommunication. My husband & I took our boat in to have a new motor put in. They explained to us that it would take 12-15 weeks for the motor to be delivered due to shortages at the manufacturer. Once the motor was in they were right on it. They went above & beyond to take care of us. Sand Bar Repair will be the only shop we use & will only recommend to anyone.
They are good service. They work hard to do what you want done. They have nice work. They communicate good and have fair prices
I have been using this boat shop for the last five years. I have seen the last couple of review and felt I needed to put my two cents in on the subject. It appears that someone is having their family bash on this shop because they were not satisfied with their interaction. As with any and all businesses not every customer is going to be happy that is life. So when reading reviews on this boat shop just remember make up your own mind. Also keep in mind the childishness & pettiness that is being shown here in these reviews.
These people are pathetic They have no accountability. Stop playing ignorant, you know exactly who we are. Its time you take responsibility for you actions. Our boat is in other repair shop fixing your mess that could of killed my family. You see the last name and you know who we are. Sand Bar, dont bother replying. We are tired of hearing your excuses to justify your wrong doings.
They told me 2 weeks Sept. Its and here it is @$1000 later on Oct. 7th amd my boat still leaks wood is not fixed amn its filthy!!!! My grand daughters 8th bday party missed amd almost my daughters ( this saturday) because they kept giving me excuses and I just got fed up!!! They should be ashamed and did not even aplogies!

I took my boat in for a no start issue. The tech took the time to talk to me to see what the issue might be. As the tech listened to the systems he came to the conclusion it was a bad fuel pump. I had my boat repaired & returned to me within a week from when I dropped off the boat. This shop is now my go to shop for all my boat repairs. They are fast, knowledgeable, and super friendly.
I dropped my boat off in mid to late June was told 4 weeks if it was a major repair. The trim and tilt wasnt pulling up on my inboard so wasnt too sure if it was just a fuze or what. I heard nothing the whole 4 weeks and was patient and didnt call til week 5 and was told an excuse about just hiring new help. Ok, so I waited a few more weeks and checked back and was told it was the motor to the tilt and trim plus an outrageous amount on labor. I paid for the part up front over the phone and waited a few more weeks with no contact from them. I stayed nice and patient but I did not get my boat back til October with no explanation. Its now January and I put the boat on the water and its the first time I ran her and after keeping my boat an entire summer the very thing I paid close to a grand for between parts and labor does not work. Ok, no big deal I can call them up and correct the issue bc obviously something was done wrong. I called on a Sunday and actually got an answer was told to bring the boat in when they open Tuesday. I drove from several towns away to be met with a locked gate an unanswered or returned calls so in all fairness its safe to say they are unprofessional, have no communication, cons that will not guarantee the work. Let my ruined summer and wasted money be a warning to you. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!
Great service and very knowledgable. Kept me updated on status of repairs and was a great help assisting me with an insurance claim on my boat. This will be my goto repair shop for my boat now.
Very poor communication! I dropped my boat off on August 28th for a repair that I had spoken with the owner about previous time he had the boat. He stated he was a week behind. I said I would like to have it for Labor Day, he said shouldn’t be a problem. Boat wasn’t ready to be picked up until September 19th. Then I did not even receive a phone call from them stating it was complete? They rarely answer there phone on Saturdays so I messaged them on Facebook to please call me when ready. I received a smartelleck response at 3pm saying the boat was ready but they are closed? No phone call stating it was ready? Boat is dirty? Key was left in boat from Saturday to Wednesday on? Mechanic said o well your battery is bad anyway! Very poor! No communication, boat returned filthy, had just been detailed, key left in boat for 5 days on run. I actually like these people but I just can’t use them anymore. I would highly suggest you look around as well, they don’t even attempt to care? Really hard to understand!
Very friendly. Went the extra mile to get me taken care of on a manner of time. Even let me know of other soon to be problems. To keep me safe. Felt just like family. Suggest them to everyone !!
These guys got my boat right in to be winterized before this storm. They had me in & out within an hour. Will be bring my boat back for all of it repairs from now on

After taking our lawn mower to another shop that couldnt seem to fix the problem....took it to Sand Bar Repair, they found the problem and had it back to me in 24 hours at a reasonable price. Will be a repeat customer.
