They were supposed to do a driveway for my sons double wide. Do not trust their set up guy, wayne for a driveway because he makes a living delivering and setting up mobile homes and driveways come last if there is time. Made us wait 2 months and then finally after being confronted multiple times told us he didnt know when he could get to it. As well as, once you get your house set up and passed final inspection if you have a problem you cant get a return phone call. Just be aware when you are dealing with them every detail is explained thoroughly or you will be sitting without something on your house that you need!!!!

I got my first mobile home it really a nice place to get nice home. My first home was Beautiful loved it. I wouldnt tell anybody to go somewhere else but here is the Best place!! Im gonna try get me another home from them. There the best since I was young I was put into a dream home couldnt asks for better place to live in..

If you are looking for a mobil or manufactured home, I highly recommend Oakwood Homes of Shelby, NC. Rebekah Jones, their home consultant, is absolutely awesome! She took the time to find out my interests, and then was very thorough to show me floor plans and homes that fit the description. Rebekah was not pushy at all, but stayed in touch with me, answering every text and call in a timely fashion. She met with me several times in person as well. She was very patient, kind, and showed sincere concern to help me make my decision. Oakwood was not the first mobil home dealer I visited, but they definitely were the last. I didnt need to search further. Theyre the best!

We bought our home and the back door leaked so much and so long waiting for them to fix it that the floor rotted. In the meantime I was diagnosed with breast cancer and did not have time or feel up to begging them to come fix it. When I finally got well enough I got in touch with them and manufacturer. They sent someone out to fix it and he did the back door does not leak anymore but you have to slam it to shut it which makes the molding come off and blinds break. I have replaced 2 blinds. The floor he cut out and replaced is good but he apparently didn’t cut out enough because right beside where he replaced is now rotten. My mobile home is only about 3 years old I don’t think my floors should be rotten!! My home was delivered on April 8, 2015! Oh and right after we moved in we had a leak under the home where something wasn’t connected right. When the guy came out to look at it he cut the black plastic that covered the insulation so it could drain and dry and was supposed to come back and fix which never happened. A plumber did come out and fix the leak but the black plastic and insulation was never fixed or replaced. We also still have a stress crack that is still not completely fixed. The back door has started leaking again so I guess it wasn’t fixed after all.

Excellent salesman, zero pressure and spent adequate time helping us to meet our budget goals.

This place gets negative 0 in stars.Daniel Douglas of Oakwood Homes in Shelby NC, has made me wait too long.It has been 3 years since I wrote this review. The bad service that I received will be in my mind forever. Daniel Douglas took advantage of me and my wife. We were elderly and blinded by his bull. He took my money and did not tell me that it would be more than a year before he would deliver. I developed cancer while waiting. A year is too long for an old man with cancer to have to wait. He knew that I am sick and was cold about it. The biggest mistake in my life was trusting in him.People, don’t do business with this man, he will selfishly cheat you for his personal gain! Not only that but the home that I bought from him had several major problems that he never returned to fix. I had to fix them myself. To this day I am still finding and fixing major flaws in the home!

After our close/move in date was moved several times for this and that, we finally closed November of 2017. That when the nightmare began, we met the manager there to get the keys and as soon as he opened the door it began. The furnace had malfunctioned activating the emergency heat so when we entered the house it was 100 degrees or better. It had been so hot for so long in the house that the carpet, mounding and countertops had come loose. All of that not counting the list of other deficiencies we knew we were in trouble. As you can imaging we go the “do worry we will take care of everything. Well it has not been 8 months and they still have a page of issues that have not been repaired. Oakwood truly made our first home buying experience a nightmare. We have since called and called only to get you need to call this guy to get repairs scheduled that never show up, intern costing us even more money for my wife to take of work to be there, due to me being deployed at this time. I only wish I had done my research and seen all the reviews on Oakwood Home before I began the process. Below is the list of items that are still outstanding so you can imagine the list prior.1- Finish insulation under house on back of house under boys’ bathroom and bedroom (none there)2- Install hangers on all insulation under house (falling)3- Remove transportation tarping under right side of house and install proper vapor barrier per code4- Install crawl door built with treated lumber per purchase contract5- Replace and level all counter tops / none are level at this time and pulling from the wall6- Check all doors in house that are bowed (some barely catch the latch) and fix accordingly7- Fill all gaps in molding and baseboard due to house overheating prior to move in (faulty furnace)8- Stretch or replace carpet that is loose and rolling as needed due to house overheating prior to move in (faulty furnace)9- Fill trench in backyard due to grade being completed prior to duke power installing underground line and reseed10- Have proper fall put on gutter on rear of house (sags in the middle and water collects)11- Fill gap where house floor is seamed, you can fit your foot where carpet meets linoleum12- Properly install vents under cabinets (cannot be open or closed the way they are installed)13- Install factory lock kit on sliding glass door (was left taped to the door glass)

Too expensive

Beyond disappointed with my experience. I purchased a home 4 months ago and things are already falling apart and giving me issues. Very poorly constructed! This manufacturer used bottom of the line materials. I am so very upset, but I guess it is mine now and I will upgrade little by little. Blessed beyond measure to have a home. I just want to warn others to do research on the product they are buying. Do not take anyones word for it. My house payments are not cheap, but unfortunately the materials of my house are.

My experience with oakwood homes of shelby was and still is horrifying. From start to finish, trust me the finishing is not done!!! It took them over a year to build a 1300 sq foot home. They allowed all our permits to expire and said we needed to redo all permits again. We were lied to about things that were done but did not exist. Ontop of that last Oct. We moved into our broken home...it was built like ripleys believe it or not on international dr. In orlando fl. We up graded and paid for kitchen cabinets that that were not installed instead we have trailer junk thats chipped falling apartThey never come fix anything when they make an appt. Tell you the last person they sent fixed it. PLEASE, DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! TO SEE OR VIEW PICTURES OF MY HOME VISIT MY FACE BOOK PAGE ...CATHY HANLON MAY OR PAUL DODDS! ITS BEEN 1 YEAR SINCE WE BEGAN LIVING IN IT...AND ITS NOT WORTH 5.OO.. im told its a clayton home as well built by shult richfield nc. Nothing about the home was level, not drawers in kitchen or cabinets on kitchen doors all of them crooked, no shelves under island or in pantry .bubbles in my foyer floor..fireplace mantle was not attached to the wall. Our archway was so crooked it was so very disappointing aggrivating as they pass the buck to salesman after salesman the blame game. I paid for a drive way 24 inch culvert pipe and 1/2 circle drive way we got 20 inch and 1/2 a driveway. Nothing is being done i could go on and on its endless...how they choose to repair is black markees for chips you didnt pay for..its nutts...WE WORK WAY TO HARD FOR OUR MONEY PEOPLE.. WHY GIVE IT AWWAY TO THESE GUYS??? I HIRED AN ATTORNEY... SO ILL GIVE AN UPDATE ON THE REFUND OR BETTER CRAFTSMENSHIP!!!!!! IM DISAPPOINTED IN ALL OF YOU DOWN THERE ESPECIALLY THE DUDE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WORKERS
