If I was able to leave zero I would. My family hasnt been here in 3 years. The previous people who ran it were great, they cleaned rooms everyday, were so nice. THIS time was unreal. Our door had no lock besides the key card lock. The floor had been done in a BAD diy. My mom tripped on the vinyl. Old Q-tips in the bedside table, a screw stuck into the bed spread. There was a hole in our ceiling that someone had plugged with toilet paper, one my brothers room had a hole above the bed as well. Our coffee maker was full of mold and old coffee grounds, one of my brothers coffee maker had mold as well but worse than ours. He had green stuff on the walls, cracks on the walls, bathroom door didnt close all the way, and there was nowhere to hang up the hand held shower. My other brothers room smelled so bad he went and got car fresheners to put in the AC vents. His refrigerator had gunk all over the inside. When he told front desk they gave him a few paper towels. Oh and did I forget to mention the cobwebs and spider webs in all our rooms. We will NEVER stay there again.

Its as cheap as it gets. Just need to pull over somewhere safe and clean? Its the kind of place that make family vacations possible for those with limited budgets and lots of folks. Its dated, funny looking, but they are good people, if you need something done just ask before hand, dont assume. Well located, for the lake, an outdoor shelter with fireplace, play ground and all the area offers. This is what most Americans can afford, and I for one am glad its still there, hot tub in the kitchen and all! Well worth the drive to let the kids loose.

Service was great. Ive stayed there a time or two. The staff are always friendly and and very prompt.

This is a great family owned and operated motel. Everyone is extremely friendly and makes you feel welcome. The rooms are clean and spacious. This past visit we stayed in the suite. Absolutely beautiful and a surprisingly extra large hot tub in the living area. Spent my nights in there after longs day of fishing. I will continue to come back to visit...

This motel is a great place to stay at. Right next to the lake. Very friendly owners!!! Prices are just right. Rooms are updated. Highly recommend it

Dont sleep where you can buy your bait.

We stayed for 1 night. Great location! However, the floors were filthy! The coffee maker in the room didnt work & the towels were paper thin. The bed was clean, so that was a huge plus! Bring your own coffee maker & towels.

Came down for a weekend with my husband and our 2 young kids. We got a non smoking room but the second we walked in we were hit with the smoke smell mixed with a musty smell. We were there long enough to bring in our bags when I happened to drop an item on the floor and thats when I found the largest mouse trap hiding halfway under 1 of the beds! The microwave was nasty (not that we would have used it but still). The cleanest part of that room was the fridge, looked brand new and the floors looked new too. The door was so old and worn down that it didnt seem to close/lock securely. There was no way I was staying there for 1 night let alone the 2 nights we had actually paid for. Thankfully, the owner was incredibly understanding and refunded us 1 of the 2 nights and apologized.

I should have taken pictures. Very dirty, stinky. Probably the worst room Ive ever seen. The lady at the desk was very nice and cordial. Its sad that the room was so disgusting.

Im a truck driver. My wife, kid and brother in law were living in hotels in central Florida and moved up here recently. This place is sooo much better. Full sized fridge and nice big room compared to the hotels we saw in Florida that were cramped and had mini fridges. Not packed and its in a rural area. To top it all off, the office had no issue with me parking my tractor and trailer right in the parking lot (turn in was a little tight with tandems all the ways back, but they allowed me to park here, which was awesome!)

This is a new ownership. It has been around a long time, and that is when I came. Now the new owners are great also. The rooms are nice. We wasnt in them long. Fishing is close by. My husband this morning caught a big Muskie. Lake Shelbyville is close by. Very nice place to stay. Room for boats too here.

I was across the Highway at the Dam/Spillway. I have been to the Motel/Bait Shop before. It appears to me that it passed its prime sometime in the 70s. Decent place to stop and browse, but staying...

Booked on expedia for a family reunion, as they are one of the only motels that allow for dogs, and the Spillway Motel called us TWO DAYS before the reunion to tell us that they are all full and have no rooms... Thanks for ruining our weekend and vacation.

When my family is not traveling with me I stay as cheap as possible, and this was every bit of that. Dirty and disgusting. The coffee maker had chunks of mold growing inside, microwave was dirty and missing the platter, some unknown green plastic stuff melted into the sheets and cigarette burns on the sheets as well. Nice for a campsite, not so much for a $57.50 motel.

Comfortable stay. No complaints. Kind of eerie sleeping behind a 150ft. Tall levee.

Normaly ok place to stay but the room I rented the last time visiting had bed bugs.... But I informed the attendant and he refunded my money no questions asked! Which is why I choose the ratings I did.

The motel is right next the the spillway from the Shelbyville lake to the Kaskaskia river, a nice view for sure. The rooms we have been in are pretty decent, a couple of issues but nothing to complain to the manager about. So far it has been a decent stay, we still have about a week left.

Just went in for bait, always a nice quick stop before the dam. Although theyre a little pricey for some common items other than that always a cool stop

Worst motel Ive ever stayed in. Floors were falling apart and caving in, smelt like dead mice in the walls, stains on the carpets couch walls pillow cases and ceiling. Closet had the kitchen table mashed into it, but no chairs. Water color was a dark yellow, lots of flies in the room. All the trim/molding was rotten and falling apart. Front door didnt lock and was large gaps that allowed bugs to get into the room. I slept for 30 minutes and left to go sleep in the truck, Id never come back and advise you to spend the extra 25 dollars to go into town. Hands down the nastiest place Ive ever been

Absolutely horrible. Unfortunately I trusted the reviews saying this place had been remodeled. I will not stay here again, dead bugs under covers. Not cleaned between guests, yes I have proof. Overall it has the appearance of the motels you see in low budget horror movies. Would have asked for refund and left had it not been nearly midnight by the time I realized my mistake.

This place is not only dirty it is disgustingly filthy. Floors crooked, carpet filthy, doors crooked and dont close, walls cracked. Bathroomdirty floors, vanity falling apart and crooked.Arrived at 7:30pm and room was not cleaned yet. After cleaning was still filthy.

Were not at all satisfied with our room. Looked like it hadnt been updated since the 70s. Was a smoking room and had nicotine on everything. Could use a complete update. Furniture and beds very old. Will not stay thete again.

It was very dirty there was all kinds of cigarette burns all over the blankets and popcorn on the top of both beds then I call to tell the lady running office and she says ok and did nothing to make it right wouldnt suggest it to no one

$68 for 1 adult for 1 night in a tiny room with hard beds and needs some remodeling. its ok but Id rather drive a little further for something more worth my money.

Roach Motel!!! We had room 23. The floor was uneven like it was caving in, bath tub looked disgusting, afraid to sleep in beds, refridgerator didnt work, had none smoking room and it smelt like smoke as soon as you opened the door.
