Amazing team! I switched to Dr. Travels office after my eye doctor retired . I tried Midwest eye out however staff friendliness and ease atmosphere just wasnt present. I finally took the advice of many I know and made the switch. I dont regret it at all. They went above and beyond listening to my concerns and helping me choose the best options for my eyes. Ive never had a team be so hands on and friendly the way the ladies of Tavels team were. I appreciated their attentiveness. They genuinely care for their clients . (Big bonus I got two pairs of glasses and contacts for what the price of one frame cost anywhere else I have ever been.)

I stopped by Monday morning to order contacts as I only ordered glasses at my last appointment about 8 months ago. Turns out I only had an eyeglass exam and not an exam for contacts. They informed me that I would need to have another exam before ordering contacts, and then told me that they had an opening right then. After my exam I sat down with a nice woman who gave me a pretty awesome deal on my contacts, I got a years supply of contacts for half the price I normally pay AND a free pair of sunglasses. I dont think I will ever go to another eye doctor ever again. The process was so quick, easy, and most importantly affordable!

Ive never had a more pleasant experience at an optometrist appointment. The staff were great and helpful, and the optometrist was so pleasant. They followed every precaution to ensure my visit was safe with the current pandemic. I felt very comfortable, and they did everything possible to make sure any concerns I had were addressed. They really do care about their patients.

Dr. Travel is where I have gone for years. Never have had any problems with them. Nice Dr. and staff very helpful.

My family has been a Dr. Tavel patient for many years. Through the years, we have seen many changes at the facility. Most of them have been good changes. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I always recommend Dr. Tavels to my friends.

It was a great experience from top to bottom. From the eye exam and the optometrist to picking out a pair of glasses it was just very comfortable and friendly. I’ll definitely continue to use Dr Tavel in the future. They were also very knowledgeable about how to get the most out of my insurance and was even able to get a second pair of sunglasses for a very reasonable cost.

From the care of the Doctor, the kindness of the staff and the selection of CUTE frames in my budget, it was a great experience. I will continue to work with Dr. Tavel and recomend to others. I went there for the first time ever to see an eye doctor I was terrified but the staff held my hand thru it all and made my anxiety go way down.... And the doctor guy hes a hoot.... But I do wanna admit that if it wasnt for him I never woulda knew I had diabetes..... He knew it way before my dingy doctors even had a clue. I am forever grateful to them all and I revisit every chance I can...... Thank yall ever soooooo muches......

They ladys at Dr Tavel were very friendly an helpful!Dr Hartill listen to my concern, was very helpful in deciding which contacts would work best for me!I do have a complaint.Ive seen Dr Hartill for over 20 years.I called on Aug 9th 2021 an explained to the lady that I believe I have an emergency., my left eye went blurry. (Which I had just seen Dr. Hartill a month prior an he just prescribed me bifocals, that everything looked good.)The lady stated she could get me in the next day @3:30, but Im like Im sure its an emergency I really need to get in today. She then referred me to Columbus. Im like sorry but I wasnt driving to Columbus.To make a long story short. I was referred to another Doctor by other people. They worked me right in thank goodness!The next day Aug 10th had to have emergency retinal detachment surgery.Torn from 10-5.. I knew something was wrong, I guess I figured the lady would of at least talked to Dr Hartill to see if he could of worked me in.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Tavel for over 35 years. The staff is always very pleasant and friendly and the optometrist they have is very nice and answers all questions you may have. But the main reason this place is so great is because of a fabulous lady that had worked there for over 40 years-Cinda. Her first class approach to patient service and just her attitude is why this place is the best place to go. When she retires they should place a statue outside the building in her honor. She’s the greatest.

I needed glasses for almost 20yrs and when I finally decided to pull the trigger and get some I’m so glad I chose to get them from Dr Tavel in Shelbyville, Indiana!! All of the ladies that work there are AMAZING technicians and they’re all as friendly as can be! I’ve had to go in a few times for adjustments on my glasses and without question they took care of everything I needed! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. There was minimal paperwork for checking in. The doctor was very quick and found my prescription accurately. Thank you all for a good exam! The hardest part was choosing frames, as always!

Dr was nice professional and explained things. Staff when I initially came for exam and back to get glasses ordered was great. Only issue when glasses were ready for pickup lady who waited on me must have been a receptionist ( she was only one there at the time) not an optician because when I asked to buy some cleaning cloths she said they didn’t have any. I said there’s a smudge on here she says all their cloths were dirty and they had to take them home each night and to launder them. I also complained my glasses were too tight on one side she said they will loosen up in a couple of days! Well okay then.

My mother and myself have both had eye exams at this location and everything seemed to go very well. They were helpful in finding a good fit for glasses for my mother. And they accept most insurances so it did not cost her very much money out of pocket, except for a few upgrades such as the lenses that turn dark when you walk into the sunlight. They said we could come back any time if we needed to be we examined, and were very professional and helpful during the entire process. The doctor told me my eyesight was still good enough that I did not need glasses. Even though my insurance would have paid for glasses it was nice that they did not try to force them on me just to make a sale. You can usually get it within a week for an appointment. They are located in a large strip mall in town near the theater.

My daughter was playing in a tournament here and tore a lens. We were over an hour from home and she didnt have her back ups. I called the office and brought in a copy of her prescription and the ladies here were extremely helpful. They fixed her up with a replacement pair and saved us a trip home. I am so thankful.

I love this eye doctor. Everyone there is very nice and very helpful. This eye care provider is my permanent eye care place.

I was pleased with how well everything went. The only draw back was that I was told one price and then found out it was more. Sending my bank account negative. Wish you had a payment plan. I will know next year not to trust what price I am told.

The doctor is always nice, but is always running behind. He does great with the kids, so I dont mind waiting. One younger employee was openly criticizing Senda who has been there for years and who is always nice. The younger girl was reprimanding her for not working quickly enough. Whether it was warranted or not, I feel as though this conversation should not have occurred in front of all of the other employees and in front of me, my husband, and out children.

Horrible place! Few years ago had daughter in for eye exam, they actually told me I had to take her to Dr she probably had a brain tumor!!! Turns out she has ocular albinism, a rare genetic trait. No brain tumor. Drs there obviously had no idea. Took her to Dr. McDaniel here in town, he immediately knew what it was. Dr. Tavel optometrists apparently are lacking in the education department do not recommend this optometrist.

They don’t know how to answer the phone. I have been calling all day and no answer! It’s been forever since my kids had their eyes check and their glasses should be in! I can’t reach no one to find out!
