Man this is an awesome comic shop. Tons of comics old and new. Alphabetical which is super nice! Super well organized and clean! Action figures, statues, Funko pops? Yep they got em! Trade paper backs galore! Some manga. Lots of table top games and mini figures too. Great place with a huge variety of comics and table top games as well as there respective supplies.
If you cant find what you are looking for in comics here then you must have mega eclectic taste! A good selection of collectables as well. The staff is very knowledgeable to boot.
Excellent collection and variety. Prices are on par with major retailers and I feel better paying those prices to benefit a local establishment.
The staff was very helpful and friendly lots of comic books in stock. Very well organized place.
I dont normally leave reviews, but this felt necessary. I am disabled, so my friend went in today to pick up some comics for me (we are both new to the world of comics). I gave him a list and he entered the establishment and went to the counter to ask for help, and was promptly told if it isnt on the shelf, we dont have it. This area in Shreveport has bad cell reception for some odd reason, so when he asked for the wifi password, the guy again rudely said he didnt know the password, but the other guy did. My friend asked about a new comic released today (Man-Bat #3) and was told it doesnt come out until tomorrow, even though today was the release date. This establishment could have made an easy $60-$75 today, but instead chose to not even try. As someone new to comics just looking to read them and enjoy, this has encouraged me to go digital, sadly.
I absolutely love this place! They allow you to have a pull box, with your name on it, so you never miss new issues and you get an in-store discount if you have the pull box. No membership required! How can you beat that? Sounds like a win/win to me. The service is always friendly and welcoming. The only comic book store in the Shreveport/Bossier and its the best! They have everything you need and if they dont they will help find it for you!
I love this place. It’s my go-to place for western comics and figure. It’s a shinning gem for Shreveport geeks and alike and it’s only gotten better: comics, dnd, board games, figures, model kits, and great sales twice a year where on those Sundays give you 75% off almost all back issues... will always be a customer here !
I love this place! My grandkids could get lost in here! So much cool stuff to choose from! I am a cartoon and comic nerd! If you are a fan of DC, Marvel, Funko Pops and the lot, this is the place for you!
It was sad that my fiancé and I had taken the time to visit this establishment only to be treated like we were an inconvenience. The service was awful. We were not acknowledged, our questions were answered disdainfully (as if the service representative/cashier did not have time for us) and he nearly told me off for asking if they had a restroom. Given that the prices are quite high, the only reason to frequent an establishment like this is for service. Given what we experienced, we will not be going back. We are very much into the hobby, but no selection is worth being treated like a burden.
Citi trends in natchitoches Louisiana
Comics, games, collectable figures. Love to browse.
Wonderful service and a wide variety of comics, games, and cards to pick from.
Its a pretty useful place for your nerdy friends who dont wanna grow up
Very expensive on sports cards hobby boxes and they double their prices. I wouldnt never go back again in my lifetime.
Always a great experience going into this store. They have such an impressive collection of new and vintage comics, not to mention the fantastic selection of board games and plenty of collectibles. We picked up a new Munchkin expansion to add to our set as well as a Harley Quinn special edition. Great trip!
Awesome place to get comics, figures and much more.
I have a friend who sent me in with a list. It was simple, but the person I asked about the location of a couple of comics on that list said that it would be on the shelf if it was there. I’m not personally into comics so I’m not quite sure what to look for. There is one person who handles working there very nicely. He’s a very personable man who has been helpful a few times. I have been to the store on and off over the years since before it’s location change. It was always way more fun when the aforementioned helpful staff member was there. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a decently well-established comic and hobby shop in a small city. But my biggest complaint is the service from the employee first mentioned. I’d recommend that anyone who wants to visit this establishment see who is working that day. I feel like this place has the potential to stick around, but I can imagine quite a few newcomers would be offput by the indifferent attitude of someone who doesn’t much care to respond to customers. Its not the first time its happened but it may well be the last. Some might say it’s a bit of a gripe, but for someone who drifts in and out of hobbies based on the experience I have with them, it doesn’t help that the guy can’t even look for the password for the wi-fi when seemingly all cell connections are pretty bad there. All in all, it lost them the business of my friend, possibly for good. And likely myself, at least as long as the indifferent-acting fellow is the shopkeep most days. I think that it’s reasonable to assume that customer service, is going to come first at a small location, competing with large players as it stands. But, if this level of service is what you can expect, then looking elsewhere for your comic/hobby fix, might be a good idea.
Trying to run a d&d game for some friends. The guy at the counter with the gray hair was so helpful! Really reassured me when I was super nervous. He walked me through exactly what my best options were. Definitely going to be a repeat customer!
Super diverse collection. Will be spending money in this plsce
Great staff and great store . I have been going to Excalibur comics now for 17yrs. I highly recommend it!
Wide selection and good prices.
Good selection however they are very over priced. I went in looking for Ticket To Ride a very common board game and they were selling it for $55 when Ive seen it as low as $35
Nice people and good selection of trades. Also good board game selection.
Nice selection of games, comics and cards.
Good service nice people its clean well organized store
I live about an hour and a half away. Totally worth the drive
Awesome place with awesome people. I love going to Excalibur.
Best and only card shop in Shreveport
Hands down the best place to buy comics in Shreveport. Fantastic staff, fantastic selection, fantastic layout. I have friends who have come from out of state and marvel at how fantastic this store is.
Excalibur has a lot of comics, pop figures, games, d&d items and collectibles. Prices are good, they had some Gundam models and the prices are very good. Nice atmosphere, clean store, they have a lot. If you game or like comics this store is a must.
This place is great. If you are interested in a specific comic they will pull the latest issue for you and have it ready for you when you arrive. They know we like the variant covers and without even asking them they have those available for us when possible. The vintage toys are my favorite part of visiting & they have a huge selection of table top games & accessories. Every time I have set foot in there they have made me feel welcome & have always been super nice.
Could of used more 6in action figures on site. But they order and so does my amazon lol. Staff was polite but busy as always.
Cool place has enormous selection of comics and Pop Figures. I went for storage boxes and sleeves, for sports cards. They had them on stock and fair priced. I wish they carried more Hobby box sets like NFL/NBA Panini.
Friendly staff, huge inventory, reasonably priced. Only knock would be there was only one Football Hobby box in the entire store. I would call first to see if they have more than one box to choose from.
I was wowed by the selection of figures. When it comes to comic book figures they have almost all youd want. The only thing I wished is that they would have more video game figures and maybe a dedicated banpresto section
Nice store!
Excellent store! Excellent staff! Excellent deals!
Has it really been 6 years since I started shopping at Excalibur? Yup, it has been. I keep coming back for the great *local* service and fair prices on high end collectibles like the first appearance of Harley Quinn, pictured with this review. If theres anything you need, Chris (the owner) and his team of comic fan employees are more than happy to help you out. They just recently moved into a larger space and with each week more inventory is popping up. I hope they continue the traditions of great service to the comic fan community for many years to come.
Most comprehensive and knowledgeable comic shop in town
One of the best Comic shops in the country! Very friendly and informed staff members, awesome selection of toys, back issues, and trades & graphic novels. I drive 62 miles to shop here once a month. I ordered Black Panther 1-8, Bitter Root 1-3, Darth Vader 22-26, and back issues of Marvels Strange Tales #170-174.
I love this comic book store! The staff gives you space to browse the titles. The store also recently added new shelving too.
Best place to get comics and boardgames/tabletop games in the area. Only downside is theres no play area to make it a real hang spot, but the staff are nice and the selection is amazing.
Their new location is really nice! Ive been to their older ones multiple times but the space here is nice. Large selections of trades and issues, and lots of figures/toys. Even has a small tabletop gaming section which is rad. 👌😎👍
This is a cool place to check out. There is a big variety for every fandom. Its more than just comics here. There are trading cards and collectors items. Board games and Dungeon & Dragons accessories are here. I really enjoyed browsing. The staff was very helpful.
Try the Texarkana location instead.
Staff was helpful and professional
I love this store! My best friend and I are in there once a week. The staff is incredibly friendly, and greet us when we walk in the door. The inventory is great. If they dont have something Im looking for it gets ordered/tracked down. Visiting this store is always the highlight of my week.
I have been going to Excalibur Comics for 20 years now and never had a problem at the store. The owner and his one employee are very helpful and try their best to get what you want if they dont have it in the store they try and find it for you. Very friendly atmosphere all you have to do is ask Chris or Randy and they will be more then happy to help you out, not overbearing at all. If you get a chance, stop in and check the store out and tell them Skip sent you.Oh, Alex Summers sorry you had a bad outing at the store but theyre is only two people working in the store not three I hope you didnt bump in to a customer thinking it was an employee, but a lot of customers will come in and help with the merchandise because they like the store so much, hanging out talking comics, games, movies, sports and everything else.Best comic shop in town!
They dont buy jack an dont really want to talk
I love this store. They have friendly service and s great selection of board games.
Clean store and friendly staff...
Love it!!! A number of back issues and graphic novels, and compilation books! I live in Alexandria, LA and yet I have nothing close to this (at present). If I had this, I could probably be found there at least once a week!
Great place! Great customer service, very knowledgeable. Made me feel like a kid again looking through the amazing selection of comics
It has a very vast variety of things to choose from!
Its a great comic and action figure store, but on the other hand if you go for mtg they have no playing table and small selection
What an awesome place! They have everything from comics to DnD and magic to board games. Very helpful staff as well.
Very clean and organized. The people working were friendly and helpful.
Having this place survive in Shreveport is a boon to us all, great place and great staff. Support your local comic shop! Always a joy to shop here
Always enjoyable when I go there.
Great bunch of regulars that are always willing to talk any sci-fi or fantasy universe. The owner must be a MENSA-level genius and can help you with whatever you’re looking for with out even breaking a sweat. And he doesn’t gouge with his prices.
Great customer care. And a super friendly staff. Dont be afraid to ask them any questions. They know there stuff
They had a ton of Great Stuff, but the sign on their front window LIED! It said they had Best Customer Service, Wow was it Wrong! We were never spoke to, even when I bought my son a Pop Vynal he really wanted, I was barely talked to! If this thing wasnt so hard to find where we are from, it would of stayed there! Southern Hospitality my butt! The worst service weve gotten is in the South! We were born & raised in the North, Thank God we have Manners & are Polite to people even when they arent to us!
The store is amazing. I wanted to buy everything as an adult. I cant say that the staff was friendly necessarily, in the middle of my transaction (when if given the chance was going to ask about a higher priced item behind the counter and about ordering a comic) he was carrying on a conversation with a gentleman that had been in the store for a while. He may as well have been robotic. When asked if they give a military discount, I was told, Not right now. I almost asked so...you are getting one, trying to offer one? Do you have a customer loyalty system, military day 10% off, anything? Being a huge military community? But, again, wasnt able to get that far because he wouldnt stop talking to the non paying customer long enough to talk to the paying one other than to say no. If you love Pop Funkos, cool, unique gifts, serious comic collector, or even just trying to get your child that unique super hero toy or into the world of comics, this place has the stuff to start. Will be letting a few friends I have in city counsel to let them know that it was not a place to offer a discount for military though.
Excellent local comic shop. Reasonable prices on collectibles. Well organized with a great selection.
Great staff, incredible selection, and the environment that reminds you why comics are so great.I left the comics world for years, and only just returned about a year ago. The staff helped me with recommendations, and have always been accommodating in that regard.Highly recommended.
I started going here almost 10 years ago. I moved recently and have yet to find a comic book store in my new city as good as Excalibur. I especially like Excaliburs selection of New Releases, they do an excellent job of having more than just the latest from Marvel and DC.
If you live in the Shreveport-Bossier area and you love comics books, cards, collectibles or role-playing games, then Excalibur Comics Cards & Games is the place for you. I have collected comics since the early 90s, and I have been a loyal Excalibur patron for the majority of those years. As a Shreveport-Bossier native, I have seen many comic shops come and go over the years, yet, one shop has remained: you guessed it. Excalibur. Its no surprise, really. No store in town can match their selection of new releases and back issue comics. If you like trade paperbacks or graphic novels, they have thousands. Like collectibles? They have a large and varied assortment of action figures, vinyls, busts, statues, banks and plush toys. Plus, they also have lots of cards and role-playing games...if you like that sort of thing. The Excalibur staff is exemplary. Not only are they very friendly and approachable, they have a vast knowledge of their products. Thats very comforting to a customer (ESPECIALLY a collector). If I cant find it in the store, they will literally go to the shelf and find it for you. If they dont have it, they will order it. For comic collectors, they not only offer the standard pull list service, but they will send you an e-mail when your new comics are available. Plus, you can add new comic titles to your list directly from the Excalibur website. VERY CONVENIENT. The store also produces a weekly video web series published on YouTube that entertains viewers and informs its customers of the latest comic releases. In conclusion, Excalibur Comics Cards & Games is the premiere destination of discerning geeks residing in the Shreveport-Bossier community.Or for the sake of brevity: its fun.
Great selection. They have comics, cards, and table top things, though I dont remember any warhammer things. I have never had any problems with them
This place is home. Everything is well organized. If you can not find it, you will be helped. Everyone is real friendly and cool to talk to.
Been my local comic shop since they moved to 70th. Great employees that are happy to answer questions. Always nice when they run their seasonal sale. Always stocked with the things a nerd needs.
A great local comic shop. Lots of fun things besides comics too. Sign up for a pull list and get a discount on new comics.
This is my local comic shop and has been for almost as long as Ive been collecting comics...and games...and miniatures...and action figures, basically everything that warms my little geek heart. The friendly guys that work there (Chris & Randy) are knowledgeable, helpful, and always willing to offer suggestions for new titles. Ive had a pull-list set up there for years and will maintain that for as long as I am able to bag-and-board without assistance (and likely even beyond that). I cannot recommend them enough, they are THE source for comics, cards, games, miniatures, figures, etc. in the Shreveport-Bossier area. Nuff said.
A geeky gem we all need in our lives. Especially if you love comics and tabletop games.
I had just moved to Louisiana from Alaska, and I am a game-loving nerd. I comic book rarely at best, but I am in full support of comic book stores since e-reading and tablets are killing physical comics and games. It took me three trips to finally catch the store when it was open (it was closed 30 minutes early one time) and I was disappointed with what I found.PROS: Large inventory of comic books, very clean and organized, well spaced despite its very small floor space.CONS: Minimal hours of operation (6 PM closing? Every day? Not even on the weekend when your demographic is free for a change?) really awkward placement of the store (theres construction going on right now, so traffic is pretty bad), and if you dont read comics the chances of you getting what youre looking for will be slim. The absolute worst thing was the lack of customer service. I went with my wife in tow when there were no other customers. The owner (identified after the trip) was on his phone. His two employees were stocking comics (all six that were out) were dead silent. I waved when I walked in since the only person I saw first was on the phone, but he was staring hard into the counter. I bumped into one of the employees on accident and he ignored me still. No hello, can I help you, what do you need/looking for, friendly conversation. I spent 10 minutes looking for something to buy (and I was looking for the king of tokyo expansion which was there) but left empty handed. I can get the expansion from Amazon for more then $5 cheaper, but I support comic book stores when I can since I know the struggle. If someone had simply acknowledged my existence, they would have a repeat customer. Screw that.I checked the rest of the reviews before posting this. All of them say they are happy with the place and the owner is friendly, but all the reviews are over a year or two old. If those are true, this place is slipping and needs to get that southern hospitality back before they alienate all of their customers.TL;DR: Completely ignored when I went, limited inventory other then comic books. I will never go again.
Cool place. Went in for board games and found 2 we liked.
I have never seen a comic store organized so well. Its a dream walking around
Great collection of comics and tabletop gaming. Prices are a little high but the service and store are worth supporting. I only wish they had a schedule for gaming events but thats a personal gripe.
Great selection of current and back issues on a wide range of titles. Family friendly environment with knowledgeable owners. Surprising array of collectable figures. Pokemon, collectibles, and more.
Great selection of graphic novels, figurines, collectibles, and board/card games.
The place was great but the dude working there could use a motivation class or two.
Love the customer service, the staff is really helpful and know there craft, number one comic book store in the Shreveport/Bossier
Very calm and clean and well organized
I have had a pull-list here for years and have lived in Monroe for about 8 years. It seems no matter how long its been since Ive been in the shop he always remembers my name. I wont go to any other shop.
Great and friendly staff. Wide selection of new and old issues. My favorite place to be!
Really nice comic store! Big selection on collectables..little on the pricy side on the statues, but worth checking out! Cool store!
I have been going to Excalibur since 1995ish. I realize I could order my comics online, or even... pirate them, but I prefer the people experience. Chris is the Rick Harrison (pawn stars) of comic and collectibles, and sometimes I am afraid he knows... too much. Some of my favorite memories were purchased at Excalibur, and for that I am ever grateful.
Love the place. Its home away from home
This is the best comic book, ccg, board game and collectables shop in Shreveport. It is also the best one I have been to in the arklatex.
Great store, excellent selection, great sales a few times a year, very personable and friendly staff. Dont pre-order, go to Excalibur instead! Its a great place to browse. I get stuff for myself and for others in my family, right down to the 6-year-old!
One of my favorite places to visit! Excalibur is more impressive than some of the big comic shops Ive been in. For the space they are in, theyve got tons of comis, toys, and games. While it doesnt have gaming space, its sister shop in Texarkana does (and its only a short distance away). The back issues are amazing! If by chance they dont have it, they are all too eager to try and get you a copy. The crew there is great! You can expect a, Hey Bud the moment you enter the store. They are friendly and know their stuff. Its easy to approach them if I have a question or am looking for a particular comic.I spend hours in the shop and always leave satisfied. I have been a customer since 1997 and will continue to shop there. Excalibur really is a gem of Shreveport!
It was a great thing a lot of come book friendly atmosphere and good customer service
Great shop. Extensive selection. Friendly service.
Guy working was nice and helpful. Also ended up having boosters for a game Ive been looking all around town for and couldnt find!
Great guys. Always helpful. Awesome to have a a local comic store.
Huge selection of graphic novels. Plenty of novelty toys and figurine statues. Sales staff was helpful in locating a novel that I missed and suggested additional that I found interesting.
There Magic the Gathering crowd is loyal, dedicated and friendly. They had food at Friday Night Magic and a great selection of cards.
