I have been taking my car to these guys for years. My dad and best friend also use them. Always solid service. Not the absolute cheapest but I’d rather pay a bit more to know my truck is taken care of.

Top auto chef right here. The men at the front desk really kept the facilitation process going between the guys running repairs and myself. Allowed me many custom options of repair packages. If one package didnt work, they go back to the drawing board. High energy and fast output. Ready in no time. Im happy. Custom built my repair package based on my needs. Fixed it within days. Then I furthered my custom repairing until my budget meet satisfaction. They were very patient with my decision making process. I will be returning to this shop for any further repairs. As for price, I dont know. I didnt shop around. Simply the level of trouble the brotha went through was worth it.

Far East Motors is my go-to mechanic in the DC area. They’ve done quite a bit of work on my old Honda CR-V over the last couple years and it’s always been high quality. The customer service is top notch. They might be a little more expensive than other shops, but in my experience, you get what you pay for—they don’t try to sell you something you don’t need, and the person working on your car actually cares about fixing/maintaining it. As long as that remains the case, I will keep going back.

Brought in my Honda for an assessment of my car. They provided a solid and easy to follow plan, with options with options on when my maintenance could be completed. Total scam. Charged $2300 for fixing a small issue with our car during inspection and we got it all fixed at another shop for under $700. And $150 for inspection? Got our car reinspected by an actually trustworthy shop for a third of the price. Sorry but we’re never coming back.

He was able to give me a second opinion on the work the dealer said my car needed to fix the AC, and found out I didn’t need to replace everything they said. They were able to squeeze me in the same day and got my oil change done. I relocated to Maryland by driving my Kia Sorento from Georgia. My right turn signals, in the front and back, went out during the drive when I was 2 hours outside of Maryland. I took my vehicle to this shop. They found the problem and were dedicated to seeking out the appropriate parts to replace the ones that were no good. I highly recommend them for servicing any vehicle.

I have been having our cars serviced at Far East for 15+ years. They never do more than necessary and will let you know what you should be prepared to do at the next service as well as tell you what can wait a bit. A friend highly recommended we take our 17-year old Acura MDX to Far East Motors. From the initial telephone conversation, I was impressed with Watchmans  casual conversation and lightheartedness.  Even though were no where near Silver Spring, we felt it was worth it to take the trip.  And we were not disappointed! Watchman was awesome.  Our vehicle was left with him for three days but during that period, he was in constant contact, either via telephone, text or emails (with photos) explaining the issues with the vehicle and patiently answered our many, many questions.  His price was reasonable, considering the multiple things we needed done, yet lower than what the other dealers charged.  Going forward, Far East Motors will be our one and only service contact.  So grateful for them!!!

Far East Motors is the best. Mr. Watchman took good care of my car. They found the center pipe was bent. Don’t know what was hit. Car was vibrating. Car is now fixed vibrating is gone. As a new resident of DC, I asked my neighbors for a recommendation for an auto shop for my Honda Fit. The most enthusiastic was for Far East Motors and I add mine to that. I especially like the tekmetric online system that shows all the areas reviewed and recommended services, with accept or decline buttons for the customer to choose. I felt that everything was well explained and I was not at all pressured to have unless necessary work done.

Took my car in for a MD inspection and tire rotation. They inspected the car and it took a lot longer than I anticipated BUT it was the day after Thanksgiving and nobody wants to work the day after a holiday (including myself). My car ended up failing due to the window tint and I had to come back to get it removed and reinspected. Other than the long wait, I had no issues with this place. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Thanks guys!

I brought in my car initially for an oil change but told them of the other issues, including a messed up door that wouldnt open all the way. During maintenance they made note of other suggested fixes, some I accepted and some I declined. When I came to pick the car up, not only was I given some suggestions on where to get parts for the maintenance I declined but the door was fixed along with a few other small things that I now dont have to worry about. I will be coming back here and recommend it to anyone in the area. Thank you!

Update: 7/23/21 As usual I had another great experience at Far East Motors. They not only diagnose the problems with my car but sent me pictures to review and I could approve what services I wanted. Watchman I can only give you 5 stars but you rate 6 stars. Jon & Far East Motors thanks for keeping my car running so well.KaroleI took my car in to the Acura dealership for a key fob that wasn’t working after replacing the battery. I asked them to inspect the car because I could hear a sound but not sure just what it was. They saw the problem and instructed me to return to my mechanic. They also said that my 1998 CL was in excellent condition and that it was well maintained. I told him that is thanks to Far East Motors. Thanks Jon, Paul, Watchman and staff.

I brought my car for inspection. The staff were nice and helpful. But compared to the service, it was over-priced! I paid $135 for MD inspection which is normally between $60-$110. When I called to make an appointment, I asked if I fail the inspection are you going to recharge for re-inspection and they answered no. But after I failed the inspection they said the re-inspection charge is $30 if you want to take care of the issue out! It is only free if you fix the issue here!!!!!! (Which they didn’t clearly explain over the phone) After I fixed the issue and called for re-inspection appointment, I asked how long would it take for re-inspection, they said 30 minutes. When I went for the appointment, they said 1 hour and it took them 1.5 hour for re-inspection. For this overpriced service, this poor costumer service is unacceptable!

I have a 2018 Nissan Rogue. I recently noticed that the sunroof began leaking. I called around to different shops and was shocked at the quotes they were giving me. Luckily, I found Far East Motors. They gave me a reasonable quote and got me in quickly to fix the problem! They finished the work the same day and were very responsive to my questions. I definitely will be using them in the future for any further issues with my Nissan!

Everything explained well and clearly about what I should expect re assessment of car. Timely update re parts delivers and estimated time to fix. In by 8 and ready by 3 for my car’s needs. Staff is appreciative of new customers and makes one feel welcome. Car is running well and 2 year or 2k mi warranty!

Fixed an ongoing issue that other shops couldnt resolve

I am fairly new to Silver Spring and found Far East motors online and took a chance. Customer Service was outstanding and the quality of work was excellent. Plus the turn around time was less than 24 hours ( I didn’t bring my vehicle in until the afternoon). I was told that most cars are repaired the same day. The cost of the service was very reasonable. The service manager Mr. Watchman Sykes is welcoming, knowledgeable and very helpful. In the future I will always bring my vehicles here. I highly recommend this shop.

They fixed part of a knocking noise that was the cause of most of it at low speeds but the main problem was the wheel bearing of the car. Upon hearing the noise again at higher speeds, I brought it right back and they were super chill about going on a road test to figure it out and when they heard it, he immediately brought me back to the shop and lifted the car and even brought me over to stethoscope the bearing and showing me what the problem was. Compared to some mechanics that don’t even want you look at them???😂 A-1 service. Came back the very next day to get the bearings fixed and this is what sold me on the trust. Plenty of mechanics could have easily charged me for the whole job but they went out of the way to test the bearing that was really bad after it was changed and found out that the problem was fixed from just that one. Being relatively new bearings, the only problem having been defective parts, I didn’t mind having only one side changed and ended up saving a lot!
