I have been wanting to try them for awhile and am so happy I finally got the chance. We ordered to go and everything was hot and ready when we got to the restaurant. The prices are reasonable and everything we got was delicious (Not pictured: salmon Benedict praline waffle, and frozen green tea). We will definitely be back to try more things!!
So glad we found this gem on our road trip from Florida to Texas. We plan on stopping here every time we make this trip. My family enjoyed our breakfast here and I’m looking forward to coming back on our way home. We Ordered to go initially but decided on dining in. The coffee was delicious as well.
It was great having an Elite Experience close to home.Today I took advantage of the Experience and ordered the shrimp florentine quiche and the frozen green tea with almond milk.Surprisingly, the green tea was good. If anyone knkws me knows Im a green tea fanatic so the taste is very important for me.There was a short wait because something was going on with the register, but other than that the servers were very friendly and all smiles. They gave an extra smile and a little excitement when I said I was there as a Yelp Elite. The restaurant was clean. I was able to sit and observe while my food was being prepared. As mentioned in the email, no one wore mask. The quiche was tasty and had 3 nice size shrimp in it. Plenty of egg for sure. I had the bagel chipz as a side and they had a savory taste. Really good. Thanks for the Experience
Extra large gourmet bagels with custom cream cheese.. very tasty
Avocado toast? more like soggy toast with a little avocado spread. The WORST avocado toast I’ve ever had. Toast was not toasted at all. I mean, the name avocado toast means at a minimum, you will receive toasted bread that has avocado on it. Well not here folks. The bread was extremely soggy and the avocado looked like avocado spread! The sausage was extremely tiny and didn’t cover the bread. The red pepper flakes were all in the middle of the bread. I got boiled egg with my toast and got 2 of them. They were boiled well.At least the potatoes were okay-ish.My friend got the breakfast plate and said the egg was not seasoned. The service was friendly so I’ll give this place that much.
I moved away from the Northeast in 2005, and this is the first decent bagel that I’ve had since then. I’ve been visiting Creole Bagelry at least once a week since I moved to Slidell two years ago. Their bagels are excellent—soft and chewy on the inside and slightly crispy outside—and *always* fresh. I also love their frozen coffee drinks. Their employees are friendly and have never made a mistake with any of my orders—not once.
One of if not the best places for breakfast in town. Great bagels and a whole lot more.
This place was very good the Bagels were so good and the spreads are Devine
Tasty overstuffed bagels. Also has other nice healthy options.
Wonderful lil spot! Food smelled great...and it was had an everything bagel. Very good. Staff was also very pleasant. Will go again.
We ordered this for everyone at work as incentive dinner, and they were good, delicious, and professional.I ordered the blue Bayou salad- it was amazing. Plus I had enough left over for a second meal.
This place deserves more than 5 stars. Their staff is super sweet and friendly. Their food is the best especially the eggs Benedict and banana foster waffles!
I love their chicory coffee. And I highly recommend their Monte Cristo sandwich. If your thing is bagels and cream cheese, this is the place you should give a try.
Food is fantastic. Its an inexpensive bakery with a quaint little dining area. The variety of food is amazing. Cant wait to go back.
Wow, Creole Bagelry has AMAZING omelettes! My wife and I ordered the ham sausage and bacon omelette and added veggies. We also ordered a garlic bagel with onion cream cheese! We ordered our meal through the Waitr app, but hands-down best and bellyful BEKFAST I have ever eaten! Thanks Creole Bagelry Team for the awesome food!-Bobby and Karissa Opp
Absolutely awesome. I have never had a bad experience at the Creole Bagelry. The food is absolutely delicious. My personal favorite bagels are blueberry w/ blueberry cream cheese, or, in a savory mood, garlic with sun dried tomato cream cheese. Today I tried the weekly special, the Muffaletta omelette and wow! Just the right balance of meat, cheese, and olives. Nothing overpowers another flavor. Definitely get the potatoes instead of grits, covered in Tonys, theyre the best! My boyfriend got the praline waffle, and they must have got a new waffle iron, because there was a cute little fleur de lis in the middle of his. Their homemade coffee and bagel chips are also very nice. The Bagelry has a large and diverse menu and lovely staff. We love going for any occasion.
Floor was sticky throughout the restaurant and the food service was a little slow. Other than that the bagel was delicious and our breakfast bowl was good as well.
Amazing food. Awesome service. Great stop on the way home.
I see some unfair reviews of this place, and a few less than 5 star I can understand. Ive been here a lot, and will continue to go. And theres a reason for that. Abita coffee. Fresh bagels. In that order, but thats just me.I cant find a decent cup of coffee anywhere else in Slidell. Other restaurants coffee is poor to ok. I hear that its probably public demand that made it that way. This place has a good source, though I think the brewing could be better. But its not a coffee house that sells bagels. Its a bagelry that has a small selection of coffee available with locally roasted beans. And you can have a refill, unlike a coffee house. Ill swallow the 4% difference in quality. The bagels are good. Soft, crispy, fresh. Im from Louisiana, so I dont know them as well. Others Ive spoken with eat here because its the best bagel they can find, including all of New Orleans, and the entire gulf coast. Dont ask for extra cream cheese if you havent been before. I swear they put a tub of cream cheese on every bagel, and the options are great. If Im not going to see anyone all day, the garlic bagel with green onion cream cheese is great, and strikes me right in my black and gold center. They also make some traditional breakfast dishes with bagels. It can be a little odd, because its bagels not bread, but theyre good. Like the choice of the cinnamon raisin bagel for the croque madame. A little more dense than a normal croque madame, but also the right flavors and stacked high. There are less expensive places on Gause. But only one of those is privately owned, and while I like that place too, it comes with its own problems.
Good service and speed in making my order will go back soon.
Everything was on point. If I could give more stars I would
Im an old New York City guy and Ive never found a good bagel like they make at home here in the south, until now. Their bagels are awesome and they have a great selection. The rest of the menu is good, but the bagels are the star of the show. Highly recommend.
They are a bit inconsistent. All 3 times Ive come here, I ordered the same thing. The first time I ordered from this place it was great. The only issue I had was that they didnt give you enough pepper jelly for your meal. I would have asked for extra, but I didnt know, and the pepper jelly was served on the side. Thats perfectly fine 🙂. The second time I ordered, I reveived 2 1/2 chicken strips when its supposed to be 3, and I did ask and receive extra pepper jelly. The third time I ordered, I asked for extra pepper jelly. Well this time I asked for extra pepper jelly. I received I side of pepper jelly. I told the lady, and she said their is extra. Its topped with pepper jelly, and then a side of pepper jelly. The pepper jelly is always in a to-go little container when it is to-go. Mind you I ordered to-go, so now my food will be soggy by the time I get home. When I mentioned it to the lady that I only got one jelly, she kinda blew me off and said it was in there. She didnt want to give me the extra side I asked for. Ive lived in Slidell all my life, 28 years, and this is my first time trying this place, the last 2 week. I will never eat here again. Their customer service isnt that pleasant as well. On the phone they are nice. In person, they have a different attitude.
Wonderful breakfast and ambiance. I love the logo and bought a mug for my coffee.
Good bagels, beats store-bought anyday. Service is polite. Quality is consistently good. Variety of Bagels and Cream Cheese is good. Quality of Lox is all over the map from Great to Not getting this anymore Just be aware can be a little pricey,
If you love bagels this is your place. Vegetable omelet is great!!!
The food was very good. Staff pleasant and helpful.
My wife and I visited the Creole Bagelry for the first time on Wednesday, 3/31/21. Sadly, it will be the last time we step foot into this establishment. We used to reside in Houston, TX, where we enjoyed excellent, made from scratch bagels. So, after moving to Louisiana, we were eager to try the Creole Bagelry, and we intended to purchase a couple dozen of their bagels. Unfortunately, we didnt get that chance. The part-owner / manager refused to serve us unless we were wearing masks. I explained to him that I had a legitimate medical issue which precluded me from wearing one, but that didnt matter to him; he still refused me service. And this despite the fact that I was standing at least 6 feet from him and there were other customers sitting at tables eating without masks only 6 feet away from me. So his logic and reasoning was completely without merit. So, we walked out of Creole Bagelry never to return. At a time when restaurants and other small businesses are hurting, the Creole Bagelry mask policy is astonishingly inane. But they have every right to establish whatever ridiculous policy they want; and we have every right to go elsewhere and to warn others of their onerous and exclusive policies.Notwithstanding the fact that masks are completely ineffective at preventing the aerosolized transmission of SARS-CoV-2, and there are no RCT studies which indicate otherwise, a few business owners and others still engage in the mask shaming of those not wearing one. And thats unfortunate, because their mistaken beliefs are based upon propaganda, not science.Businesses make all types of provisions for handicap individuals. But dont even think of going to Creole Bagelry if you have a medical issue which preempts you from wearing a mask. To their own embarrassment and shame, they will refuse you service, and pride themselves in their ignorance.FYI: These are the official exemptions for those with medical issues preventing them from wearing a mask:1. Anyone who has a medical condition that prevents the wearing of a face covering.2. Anyone who is consuming a drink or food.3. Anyone who is trying to communicate with a person who is hearing impaired.4. Anyone who is giving a speech for broadcast or to an audience.5. Anyone temporarily removing his or her face covering for identification purposes.6. Anyone who is a resident of a parish without a high COVID incidence that has opted out of the masking mandate (Grant, Red River and West Feliciana). So, either the management and owners at Creole Bagelry are ignorant of official Louisiana policy, or they are intentionally lying. Either way, they are apparently very uncaring in the way they refuse to serve customers with special health related exemptions.
It was okay. Nothing to crow about. I ve had better.
We stopped here on our way through Louisiana and were blown away by how good it was. The menu offers all sorts of fresh and delicious options to choose from. I had the creole cuban which was a delicious panini on a bagel and my wife had a veggie wrap. Our kids ate waffles and some had grilled cheese. Everyone ate everything. We also ordered a half dozen bagels to go. Definitely recommend this place.
Check your take out order. I ordered $50 worth of bagels and cream cheese - when I got to our daughters house 15 minutes away, there was none of the cream cheese we ordered. Then when I went back to get it, they acted like I was lying about the order. Terrible service. Maybe they saw I had out of state plates, and wanted to make sure I knew we werent welcome in Louisiana. They succeeded, Ill never go back.
Best bagels in the greater New Orleans area. I drive from New Orleans to get my fix and bring lots home to freeze! Yum!
Good food and nice pleasant eating area
It was great. I had 3 egg omelet with bacon. Was delicious. 😋
Looks like theyve done so.e renovations since I was in there a few months back. Great service and the bagels are always fresh! Coffee is a big win with Abita Roasting company added to their coffee bar a much needed improvement. Always a clean bright environment.
Over priced, over hyped. Rude and disrespectful staff. And I live in Slidell and have given this place more than a few chances. After the way I was treated today I had to post. Please go anywhere elseThe response from the shop is a lie. I was wearing a mask, don’t know what that’s about. But it goes to show you they won’t even acknowledge when a customer has a compliant. Plenty of other places in Slidell to go
Food was fantastic! Lots of great breakfast options and bagels with special cream cheese options. Everybody really enjoyed their food. I had an omelette that was really well made and tasted great. Wasnt very crowded when we showed up at 9:30 but the line was out the door by the time we left. Highly recommend!
Wow. Its an awesome place. Ambiance is creole and the menu is endless. The waite staff were super southern friendly and guided me on my first order. Im originally from Seattle where we had a lot if bagel shops. I found this place to offer my classic Salmon Lox on any bagel flavor of your choice. Enjoy
I love their bagels and cream cheese selection. I grew up in outside of New York City, bagel capital of the world, and can say this is the only place I have found in the deep South that can make a bagel with that fluffy inside, chewy outside reminiscent of the bagels if my youth. I have never been disappointed by the quality of the food and the staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Everything on the menu is delicious, you cant go wrong with this!!!
Creole Bagelry is a favorite place for me in Slidell. The bagels are fresh and tasty, and the sandwiches and breakfast items are always filled with quality ingredients. Since they expanded the dining space, it is very comfortable to sit and have a leisurely breakfast or lunch or casual meeting. I highly recommend it.
Great bagels and breakfast! Cute little place with fast and friendly service!!!
Fantastic breakfast menu. The Bagels are very good with many cream cheese options. They have a large selection of egg dishes - my favorite is the Chimichanga with sausage. The coffee is fresh with 4/5 choices each day. Expect a wait on the weekends - that’s how good it is and it’s worth it.
They have a great selection of flavored cream cheese. Their bagels are also best in town. I consider me a bagel expert. I spent many years in Brooklyn, NY, the Mecca of bagels
My girlfriend and I come here almost once a week (Bagel Sunday!) and we love it. We almost always get bagel sandwiches, but sometimes we get something different. Everything is delicious! The coffee is also good, frozen and hot!
Enjoyed every thing we had... Favorite being the avocado stuffed with chicken salad....it had this amazing pepper jelly dressing....would get that again next time!!!! Glad we found you!!!!!
Food is always fresh and delicious! Great specials for the day, creative creole dishes. Had the crabmeat grilled cheese and tomato soup, delicious! Love their specialty bagels and homemade cream cheese options!
Youll never need seconds on cream cheese. Very generous. This place serves Togo breakfast and lunch items and still finds room on the menu for more complex fair.
Delicious bagels and flavorful cream cheese options. A bagel breakfast sandwich is the perfect way to start my day!
Great breakfast coffee and bagels 🥯
I was finally able to stop in and try this place. Absolutely amazing. I got a lightly toasted blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Wow! Great atmosphere, too. And very clean! I will be back soon!
Their breakfast is one of the best in Slidell, they even have people from New Orleans talking about them when I went back home!
I was too hungry and my chimichanga was too pretty for me to stop and take a picture. I dug right in. Ive been coming here for years when I get the chance. Their quality is consistently good. Great menu changes over the years and their bagels are amazing.
Love this place. Their breakfast is so good! I order a Swiss cheese, onion and Bacon Omelet meal...it comes with tasty potatoe chunks.
Most fabulous.little cafe in Slidell ..the whole menu is delicious 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
The best bagels on the northshore, period, end of story. Their plates are wonderful as well and the service is always great. The staff are courteous and the owner is routinely there behind the counter.
Great service and food. I always enjoy having a cup of the Abita Brewing Co. coffee here. Its a great place to gather some friends and have a nice breakfast or lunch.
Good coffee
Great local place, clean and well run.
This is my absolute favorite place in Slidell. My husband and I live just around the corner and visit Creole at least once a week. Their coffee is local and DELICIOUS. Being vegetarian, I normally stick to the grits and potatoes with a rye or pumpernickel bagel. Simple is best, but I know the specials are fabulous as well. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
If you like real bagels then you should like this place. Only complaint is that the sausage pattie on the breakfast bagel sandwich is tiny...get there before 930 on weekends, because the lines get long.
Pretty good food
**Sandwich Review Only** Very disappointed, nowhere near as good as it use to be. I havent been here in 4 or 5 years and was excited to be back in town and able to grab one of my favorite sandwiches. Location is just about the only thing thats the same. I was really disappointed; it is nothing like it use to be regarding quality and flavor. They no longer use Boars Head meat and the taste is obvious. Id be happy to pay $10 for a sandwich if it tasted great, but the sandwiches ordered today were a big letdown. I am not sure what happened or if ownership changed, but I will not be back. Sad because it was a great little spot in the past. Reviews are great so maybe its worth trying for other things, but Im not willing ot chance it.
Drove from Mississippi to satisfy my pregnancy craving. Unfortunately, when I arrived at 1:44 I was informed that the kitchen closes at 1:45. So this place closes at 1:45, not 2:00 as they advertise. I was very disappointed.*Edited for response to owner: Im sorry, but no one is checking your website to see what time the kitchen closes before coming. If the establishment states it closes at 2 PM, customers expect to be able to place a to-go order for a sandwich up until 2 PM. This is the way any ordinary kitchen in the restaurant industry operates, unless you are operating a bar. Also, kitchen closes at 1:45 is not on your menu located online.
I just tried this place yesterday and I went back today. So far, Ive had the Monte Cristo and Creole Cuban sandwiches. Their food is really good and the local coffee is a nice touch. I am quite impressed and I will definitely be back.
Outstanding food. Fast service. Nice atmosphere.
Customer service was absolutely outstanding. Jay was very polite and was prompt with my order. Im not from Louisiana, but I will be returning.🙌
Very good breakfast!!
Yo this bagel place slaps is you want some good coffee, brunch and a good bagel. Im pretty sold this place makes a lot homemade cream cheese.
Great selections to feast on prepared beautifully. So many its hard to decide which to try first.
Everything we order is fresh and amazing. The staff is attentive, interesting, and helpful. The atmosphere is busy and family friendly.
Slow service. Super slow service. Bagels are good, though.
Since moving here from up north (Annapolis MD.) we have been searching for a good bagel place (and me personally a genuine rye bagel) well our search has ended. These bagels are the real deal, the food is fresh and flavor full, the staff is friendly, the service is prompt... as they say, Whats not to like. This was our first visit, there will be many more.
Great local bakery that I found while visiting New Orleans. The Breakfast chimichanga is awesome and the bagels are the best.
Great service, delicious omelet. Had the special bagel and a blueberry bagel both were delicious and the cream cheese is excellent. I will definitely be back.
Amazing food...
Love love love this place. Great food and great service!
I really enjoy the coffees and food served here. The staff is always kind and my order is always ready by the time I get there. The only drawback is that every time one of my family members orders a vanilla coffee it tastes....off.
Creole bagelry is an awesome local business. My wife and I love this place. We go here at least once a week and never had a complaint. The staff is very hospitable and the owner is often working the register. They keep the place very clean, too. Expect a wait on weekends and some options to sell out. I recommend using the Waitr app if youre in a rush.
This is my favorite breakfast place in all of slidell! The best bagels and creole Benedict is to die for! The people that work here are always super friendly too!
Love the bagels and different cream cheese
We stopped by for lunch on a road trip and REALLY liked the food. Moderate prices for a brunch/sandwich joint with great, unique flavors.Have to mark it down one star because the tables were all messy. Guests are expected to bus their own tables like a Panera (perfectly fine), and theres always someone too lazy to be a decent person and clean up after themselves. The restaurant staff should step up to keep a clean shop, but we were there for 45 minutes and didnt see any staff cleaning empty/dirty tables.
One of my favorite places to eat in Slidell. The owner, Darren, has done a lot to upgrade this restaurants food, service and dining space in the past few years. The bagels are always amazing, and breakfast here is to die-for. Dont miss out on going for lunch though, because the salads and sandwiches are great too. If you havent been yet... what are you waiting for?
Food is always goooooooooood
Good food and a nice place for breakfast
