The food was excellent and came out fairly quickly. However, the service could have been better. The waitress could have checked on the table more and not have seemed in such a hurry. I dont like telling what I want to drink whiles shes walking away. I could image this if it was busy but the restaurant was only a quarter full.

With my husbands work, we stay at King Salmon Best Western and frequent their restaurant, King Salmon Restaurant. Good, home cooked meals are hard to find when traveling. This is our place to go. The waitresses are friendly, it’s a clean environment, quiet. It feels like your hometown cafe, away from home. Love it!!

Not quite as good as they used to be, but my omelette still wasnt bad. Prices are competitive, but portion sizes are a noticably smaller than other locations. I can only speak for the breakfast as I have yet to try their lunch or dinner.

Under new ownership since last visit. Clean and remodeled. Abbreviated, new menu. Prices seemed a bit higher for breakfast. The food was not up to the old standards. The sausage, served with 1 egg and pancake, was definitely off and possibly microwaved. Service was adequate. Other breakfast orders for the table were ok at best. Use to be family run restaurant. Seems to be a bit pretentious. Time for a new breakfast spot.

Pancakes and bacon/eggs were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Friendly fast service. I also know they keep a very clean kitchen. Everything is about $14, a few lesser priced items as well. Clean and updated dining area.

What made the king stand out was the warm greeting I got when I walked in the door. The food was great, and there was a lot of. I had 2 eggs over easy, home fries, 2 slices of toast and a cup of coffee.

Great diner food with typical prices for our area. Portions are Alaskan sized (we usually require a to go box). Their burgers are very juicy and huge! Staff is very friendly, service is great. Clean restaurant.

Hadn’t tried this place in about 15 years. Heard it was under new ownership. Thought I’d give it a try. First of all they were extremely short staffed on waitstaff. Water was never served and once your drink order came you didn’t see the waitress until the food was brought out, then once more when they brought the bill. I honestly wouldn’t mind if they warned you when they took your order. “Hey sorry we’re short staffed do you mind if we just leave you a pitcher of water?” If that was all the happened I’d still leave a good review. Onto the food. Ordered a chicken fried steak with hash browns toast and eggs. Hash browns were great, eggs were severely undercooked, toast was toast. Hard to mess up toast but I guess if they really tried they could have. The chicken fried steak actual steak I’m sure was great. The gravy on top of it tasted like it was made with soapy water. Thinking maybe my taste buds were playing tricks on me I got a second opinion where someone just tried a taste of the gravy. They also thought it tasted like soap... not just a mild undertone. Like it was made with soapy water. Informed the waitress and requested the chef taste it before serving anymore. A few minutes later I was told “I was told we could go ahead and charge you full price for a different breakfast plate that includes everything but the chicken fried steak”. Well I should hope so. I’m not sure what they’re allowed to say in these situations, but I would have liked to know that nobody else was going to be served that gravy. Might try this place again in 15 years.

Servers were nice but my poached eggs were cooked in one of those plastic microwave cups and soaked in butter. I ordered dry whole wheat toast and poached eggs, I never would have thought Id have to specify no butter on my eggs. The whole reason to order them poached is so they arent cooked in butter or oil. Ill pass on this place from here on out.

Ownership seems to constantly be in flux. the menu changes often enough it becomes difficult to establish any favourites. plenty of seating for large groups. the food is flavourful enough, but offers nothing other than fairly basic meals at the moment. its a quiet place to read a book, clear your head, or to get a cup of coffee. that being said, the building feels colder and less alive than previous ownership leaving ambiance to be desired.. i wouldnt recommend unless youre experimenting and dont want a Google review to be your final decision or if you are in a hurry and its nearby.

This has been our weekend place to eat for several years. Service is good. Atmosphere good.Reason for two stars... over the last three months the size of our breakfast skillet has gone down to the point where you now see bottom of said skillet. I use to leave full, now it would take two plates. For the price not worth it anymore.

Solid breakfast with their everything omlet. Only reason for not 5 stars is run of the mill coffee. Otherwise this place is great...service fast and attentive, and always making sure you are satisfied. Will rate more next time Im back.

Everything is good here but Im here often for the breakfast food, mostly biscuits and gravy. Staff has always been nice and friendly and the tables have always been clean.

Went there yesterday for the first time, and loved it ! The atmosphere was amazing, service was amazing, and the food was delicious . My husband and I had the Slam which consist of two French toast, two eggs, and bacon . Both my husband and I agreed that this will be our favorite breakfast spot from now on . Everything was cooked perfectly and the French toast were exceptionally good ! My husband loved the bacon and said that it was definitely the best he’s ever had . Given the fact that we’ve traveled to different places around the U.S and tried bacon countless of times ! We had two milkshakes that were really good, even though the waitress had told us that they were still trying to perfect their shakes because the machine was fairly new . Overall the pricing was really good, huh even if they charged us more I wouldn’t of minded especially because it was delicious . #Willcomeback

This place is always been one of our favorite stops when we come down to Soldotna. The food is pretty good and the environment is friendly and down home. If you get a chance stop on by and have some breakfast or lunch.

I went with high hopes. The best I can say is that the service was good, and the place was nice and clean. The breakfast food was not good. The bacon, for example, was overcooked and had a strange flavor that backfired on me for the rest of the day. Everything was edible, but for the price, it needed to be so much more than just edible.

Ordered the Chili Burger that was the Special and it was way over cooked, dry patty . The Chili was out of a can and very bland just like the patty had no flavor. . The food I was served was not worth the price that they charged. .. This place could use a New Cook.. Or someone that is inspired or knows what they are doing..

They have good breakfast, not so much lunch, but the staff is always nice. They are sometimes closed long before when they say they close, which is a little inconvenient.

The meat lovers omelet had more potatoes than meat. The Denver omelet had raw vegetables. There wasnt enough silverware on the table and the avacado omelet had old tasting avacados on it. It was cold in the eating area and the waitress spilled hot chocolate on one of us.

Fast service. The menu is great, plenty to choose from. The Food is exceptional.

Went to breakfast and ordered 2 biscuits with honey which was $3.75. That was ok. I was then charged $3.00 extra because I asked for butter. Thought it was pretty deceitful since they didnt bother to mention the charge before bringing it to me. I assumed its normal to have butter with your biscuits. I didnt say anything at the time because its a small town and out of respect for the person with me I didnt mention it. You never know how people may retaliate. The coffee was disgusting too and I was charged $3.00 for that also. If it was worth it, I wouldnt have minded so much paying that for it. Over all bad experience. Probably wont darken those doors for a long time if ever again.

Waited 20 minutes and finally cancelled breakfast order after being told they hadnt started cooking it yet. 1 of us left, and the other 3 settled for $17.99 breakfast buffet, which had the usual mediocre selection of dried out foods by 1pm. Waitress tried to charge us for 4 meals, having failed to notice 1 person didnt eat or come back to their seat. Skip it, especially Sunday buffet.

Ridiculous pricing for breakfast items that are not well cooked or presented. 2 eggs, 2 slices of inedible bacon, two pieces of French toast, side order hashbrowns, undercooked. One glass tea, what toast....27...n change! None of those items are expensive, save for eggs...18 count under $4.00 at grocers....seriously. 6.00 for a milkshake..and ice cream isnt homemade...needless to say....#NOTAGAIN

Definitely has gone down hill since management change.. huge let down when it was the only go to place for breakfast for kenai/soldotna.. the menu is now 1/4 of what was before and not that great.. service was terrible..

Fried oysters were terribly overcooked, service was not good, ketchup that was serve had been mixed with mustard or some other sauce by the previous table totally disgusting. I could look the other way on this if it had been at the table but the waiter brought it out to us that way so it was in the kitchen, from a previous customer using it and then served to us again.. yuck
