Davis is the best! They squeezed me in when their schedule was already packed, and totally saved my butt by taking it in before I went to see family so I had a working vehicle as soon as I got home. Not only did they fix my oil leak, they also fixed my brake light (which I didn’t even know was broken) for free💕 I felt totally respected and listened to, and everything was explained to me in full detail- as a female rider, this is a very important aspect of mechanics for me. They were recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t be happier. I also bought my winter gloves here and they’re lovely, I plan to buy more gear there soon and I will definitely be taking my rebel there for any future work💕

Davis Moto Works is the real deal, and easily the best shop I have dealt with. They are pleasant to work with and absolute experts in all areas of motorcycling. Really.Most small shops have one or two specialties. Everything else will be done poorly or not at all. My previous shop in Seattle was expert in sports bikes but made some big mistakes and dubious recommendations about other things. I once ended up stranded in the middle of Washington wilderness because they improperly installed a tire tube. Because of this, I used to do my own work but I am too busy these days. I recently moved to Santa Cruz and needed work done on both of my bikes: a DRZ400 single cylinder dual sport, and a VFR800 V4 sport touring street bike - very different ends of the motorcycle world. Bob has encyclopedic knowledge of both bikes, including strengths and weaknesses, the wide spectrum of aftermarket parts and mods, safety, torque specifications, suspension, riding technique, gear, and more. He and Laura will cheerfully share their knowledge and I would love to talk shop with them all day if I knew they didnt have work to do.I ended up having a completely custom suspension installed and set up on my VFR800, plus new tires for both bikes. Bob and Laura treated my bikes as I would, inspecting parts, pivot points, bearings, etc., in the vicinity of the work being done. They made no-pressure, sensible recommendations on what to leave as-is and what we should replace.Most things were in good order, so they applied fresh grease and made recommendations for things to keep an eye on. Even details such as the angle of the clip-on bars were checked and adjusted. Both bikes have aftermarket parts, luggage, farkles, etc., for the way I use them and Ive had other shops get annoyed, refuse to touch anything aftermarket, or want me to remove things before they would perform any service. Not here - no fuss, no hassle, just work done right.I love my bikes and I used to dread taking them to other shops, for the downtime and also they rushed way theyd be treated. I honestly look forward to the next time I need to bring one of them to Davis Moto Works.
