I went in to purchase my first real bike shop bike. It was a nice experience! I rode the bike around for five minutes testing everything out! It worked like a charm! I went in, and they helped me put new handles on my bike, i thought i was gonna have to do it lol so thankfully they did that part for me! Definitely will be back for more accessories and tune ups in the future!

Terrible customer service. Never ever going back! I bought my bike here, but they made me feel guilty for wanting to change the size of my bike purchase!!Why do you have to be so rude? Look at other poor reviews, Im not the only person that feels that way

This place is Awesome and the owner is 100% the reason why I will continue to come back. I’ve purchased a bike from them, shoes, and parts. And today I needed to fix something from my exercise bike, they go above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of and I’m just always impressed with how well they treat their customers. This shop is very close to our house and my husband has always taken his bike there for servicing. They are friendly and knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Recently I purchased a bike over an hour away, because it was the only place I could find either of the two bikes I was interested in in stock. Initially, I was having a lot of pain while riding and not happy with the bike. Instead of driving over an hour back to where I got it, we stopped in The Village Peddler with the bike. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly, even though we had purchased the bike elsewhere, he spent a decent amount of time with us, adjusting the bike to better fit me (this should have been done at the time of purchase, but was never offered). We felt totally welcome and comfortable even though we had purchased elsewhere. Because of his kindness and expertise, I now am able to ride my bike comfortably. I am so appreciative and feel that this excellent service deserves recognition! I would definitely recommend this shop.

Great service for the bikes they sell! Tonight we took my sons mountain bike that is only a couple months old for a quick adjustment. (Hes 10 and might not be so gentle to his equipment 🤦🏻‍♂️). They made the adjustments needed and showed me what to look for if the same thing happened again in the future. Thanks guys! Owner was super nice and extremely helpful with anything we needed. We got there about an hour before they closed and he even helped us after hours while we were outside setting up our bike holder. 100% recommend! And bikes are reasonably priced.

I am new to cycling. I went during covid season. They were very busy and barely could keep up with customers. I didnt get much attention that I expected to have. I can understand its because of pandemic. Took a bike for test drive. Loved it and was in and out in an HR. The guy helped me putting the bike inside my car trunk. I would recommend it to others however would suggest to be patient.

Both times I purchased bicycles here my experience has been positive. In my most recent trip here, Jeff assisted me with finding a bike that was a good fit for my needs when I explained to him I would be using it for exercise on days I would be giving my knees a break from running. He helped me find a quality bicycle that was right in my price range. Im a disabled Veteran. I put money down on a bike at the village pedaler in South Elgin. They said I could put a bike on Layaway. They said I could pay for the bike however I wanted and that it didnt have to be once a month. I moved closer to my VA hospital up North in March 2020. I called to make a payment after I moved. One guy said he couldnt find my name and hung up. I called back and spoke to someone else who put me through to the alleged owner. The alleged owner said they were trying to get ahold of me but couldnt. I told them no one ever called me and I had the same number. He asked me for my new address and said he would make me an offer I couldnt refuse. Another lie because I received a check in the mail today from village pedaler for $181.69, for my bike I had on layaway. Dont trust them. Someone is riding around on my bike. Wow. I served my country so you could be free and it turns out you are full of GREED. Im glad I cursed at you over the phone for selling my bike before we hung up.

We have purchased many bikes here for our family. Very nice bikes and a little pricey. We always just felt better here until recently. After paying to have our current 3 bikes tuned up we picked up the last two and they were not evened cleaned. they were done 3 days earlier than stated at drop off . Just a bit lacking in effort.

Needed a new wheel for an old bike, they got me all setup and a great price while I waited.

There are a lot of bike stores in the Tri-cities area. This one is the nicest, most accommodating and the most genuinely interested in cycling. It’s not to say that others are poor and some are more convenient in terms of location, but after going to the usual suspects we keep coming back to the village peddler as our source for service, parts, accessories, etc.

I dont normally write reviews online but felt the need to after all the experiences we have had over the last 7 months. The bottom line is my wife and I will never go to another bike shop. From service to selection they have it all. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The staff wants to help they want you to have what fits your needs.We have purchased two bikes, a bike hitch for the car, a tricycle and a few accessories. Everything was top not and worth the money spent. We will continue to drive the 35 minute to the Village Pedaler for all future bike needs.

Best place to buy both new and used bikes. We have bough all my kids bikes from here either used or new and both my wifes new liv flourish and my used Schwinn signature. All beautiful bikes that came with great service. The owner is always willing to give us something for our trade ins but the quality of service and equipment speaks for itself.

Cool experience here, went in fully expecting to buy a new wheel after bending my original. They informed me they could fix my bent rim by tuning it and replacing one spoke, no new wheel purchase needed. I came back two hours later and left with my like new wheel, only spending $15. Definitely going back the next time I need anything bicycle related.

Took in my rear flat tire (tire getting thin) and purchased a top of the line $45.00 tire. Then they wanted to charge $7.00 to put it on the rim - something they could of done in literally a minute or two. On top of that, I had to listen to a snappy comment from someone working there (owner?) about how the guy could put the new tire on if I could get him to work for free. Needless to say will not be going back.

A specialty shop with a very knowledgeable staff. Their inventory of bikes, parts, apparel, and safety gear is incredible. What a great relief from the mindless big box chain stores. Everyone at The Village Pedaler was knowledgeable about bikes and you can tell that they really care about it as a sport. I only ride for recreation, but didnt feel like they thought any less of me for not being a triathlete.While they dont have Cannondales and other similar brands, they have the ones that I was familiar with (Schwinn, Giant, Trek and Specialized). I bought a bike for my wife and they took the time to educate us on all of the things we either misunderstood or were just flat out wrong about.Their willingness to spend the time with us made this a very enjoyable experience.

Went here to buy bikes for me and my girlfriend. When I told the girl my price range she told me to go to Walmart. I would have let this comment go, but her snotty attitude continued. When I asked if they had used bikes, she reluctantly showed us the used bikes. I asked if one of the used bikes would be good for the type of riding I wanted to do, but she wouldnt answer my question. She just told us she doesnt control the used stuff that comes in and what you see is what you get.Really surprised other people had good customer service experiences here.

Jeff and his staff are top notch. Have purchased 3 bikes and will not go elsewhere. As for the guy complaining about the $7 dollar new tire install... this is a business and they cannot do everything for free. For this reason you give 2 stars? Pathetic.

Ive taken multiple bikes in to have various work completed, and every time the service was excellent and the staff honest and knowledgeable, even going so far as to help educate me on certain maintenance related things I could take care of myself next time. Highly recommended.

I went in yesterday to get an inner tube fixed that kept going flat. The mechanic could not have been more nice and explained what the problem could be. He put a brand new inner tube in at no charge and said have a nice day. I would recommend this bike shop to anyone especially someone like me that is not a pro bike person.

Was riding nearby and my crank arm was starting to click.. Being 10 miles away from home, I decided to get it adjusted by the shop rather than risk more damage.Owner Jeff tightened up the BB cups and spindle nut for me which resolved the issue. I offered to pay but he declined payment for the service. Will be back to give them more of my business.

I went to this store to buy a bike and I waited and waited while this skateboarder type dude bragged endlessly to a couple of his buddies about his bike and all the riding he does. I got tired of being ignored and left and went somewhere else.
