10/10 highly recommended! I had an appointment for 3:30 but needed to be somewhere at that time so I walked in at 12 hoping they could work something out for me and that’s exactly what they did! Truly truly kind hearted people who know what they are doing! the front receptionist was Emily and I knew she has YEARS of customer service experience because the moment I walked in she greeted me so kindly and listened to my dilemma and made sure I was taken care of she helped me pick out a great piercing as well! My piercer was Oscar and he rocks! He talked to me through every step, and answered all my questions! He has only been speaking English for 7months but he sounded pretty good! Great job to the entire staff in that store I’ll be back in 6 weeks for my downsizing!
On Friday October 29th, I got my nose pierced here. The shop is very clean and all of the staff was super friendly! I am definitely recommending this shop to everyone I know.

I just went to Old Traditions on Friday to get my nose pierced. As someone who has never gotten a piercing before I was extremely nervous. I have to say that Em made me feel so welcomed the second I walked in and knew exactly what jewelry would be perfect based on my idea. The whole place was clean, neat, and everyone was insanely nice. I had Chux and a guest piercer both of which were so kind and funny. The piercing itself hurt for maybe a minute and so far cleaning it has been really easy. I will definitely be coming back here for any piercing I want in the future! :)
Old traditions is an incredibly professional shop. All of the people here really know their stuff and are so helpful from start to finish and they are very caring and considerate. Their selection of jewelry is top tier and beautiful. I have never had an issue at this place and all of my piercings have healed beautifully. This is THE place to go for jewelry and piercings! The people were so nice! I like how they actually care in how they do their service. My piercer made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole time she was piercing my nose.

I originally got my nose pierced in April at another shop, and was told I could replace my stud with a hoop after 6 weeks. I went to another location that didn’t even let me select the jewelry and put a hoop in I didn’t like, and felt too big.I wanted a second opinion and made my appointment the same day for Old Traditions. Everyone was so friendly, and Vikki was amazing! I found out that it was way too early to switch to a hoop, and she helped me pick out a new nose stud. She was patient and explained everything in so much detail! Plus, I’m glad we got the hoop out before any infection happened.Moving forward, they will definitely be my piercing/jewelry place of choice! Thanks again!

I can never say enough good things about this place. Every single staff member is so kind and knowledgeable, they truly want to help you find jewelry that is right for you and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in to the second you leave. Ellie helped me out and was incredibly sweet and really took the time to make sure I was getting jewelry I liked, while still staying conscious of my budget. Body modification is such an intimate and personal experience, and every staff member truly respects that and every individual’s choice. At the same time, they are honest and only want the best for you. I came in this time to get a piece I had gotten somewhere else removed and wanted to get a piercing done too, and Maddie was so patient, personable, and kind. She gave me some options, and was super gentle and walked me through the whole process. I 10000% recommend Maddie or any other piercer at this studio. You can tell they all truly love what they do and are there to help you feel good about yourself.
As someone who is anxious about anything needle related, i found my visit here surprisingly pleasant! The piercer was funny and so easy going, and i felt more confident with her than I have with nearly any nurse or surgeon Id worked with before. I left feeling so well informed, and definitely look forward to coming here again!

Old traditions is in an unassuming shopping center, I Went here for a helix piercing. I set up my appointment online. Everyone was super friendly and informative. The place is clean and relaxing... almost reminds me of a yoga studio! Noel; my piercer was sweet & left no surprises explaining everything step by step. Will definitely be back for another piercing.

This is a great atmosphere. I didnt realize the shop was literally all women piercers. They made me feel so comfortable and did my piercings tandem so it was over quickly. The women were great and so professional. I loved it and would totally recommend them.

I absolutely love old traditions. i got my daith pierced there in january of 2020 and my jewelry changed a year later. the store is incredibly clean, and the workers are extremely friendly and helpful. my piercer was maddie who unfortunately isn’t there anymore, but her em and chux are all so welcoming and friendly. i honestly can’t think of a better piercing studio and will be going here for the rest of my future piercings!
I saw Chux before he owned this place, and he has always been good to me as a customer. He provides a very tranquil environment to provide you with the best experience possible. It is very clean and sanitary. Other staff are always super friendly. I love looking at all the jewelry he has and the plants that are in the front. Chux has always been good to my family and I whenever we seek his services.

Wonderful experience at old traditions! i went here yesterday to get double lobes and a helix with noel. she is so sweet and professional! i felt so comfortable while she was guiding me through the process and showing me each of their sterilization steps (especially during covid, which they are handling very safely). beautiful jewelry as well— em helped me pick cute studs that look adorable :))
Today, Rylie gave me 2 conch piercings and a helix piercing which all turned out great! I am so happy with her work. She made me feel very comfortable and explained everything as she went on. She encouraged me to speak up and made sure we were all on the same page before she started. With that said, there were additional charges for jewelry backs and the spray that were not mentioned beforehand so be prepared for that.

Old Traditions is a top notch piercing studio. The front desk staff are super helpful and the piercers are all incredibly knowledgeable. The owner even makes his own jewelry! Even if you live in Chicago, it would be worth the trek to Elgin to visit Old Traditions.
My sister got her ears piercing reopened (it had slightly closed up) by someone and she was so sweet! She was obviously experienced, and was not only very professional but friendly, too! She was very engaging to my mother as well! I feel bad for not remembering her name, but I might find it somewhere.
Everyone who worked there was very welcoming. I was nervous getting my septum pierced since I have a strong fear of needles, but everyone was super friendly and calming, so I was able to relax a lot after about 5 minutes in the store. Derek was my piercer, and he did an amazing job calming my panicked self down and just walking me through the steps. I honestly barely even felt the piercing, and Im still astounded by how little it hurt. Overall, Old Traditions Piercing is an amazing place with awesome staff, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested!

I hadnt gotten a pierce in a long time and the lady that was piercing me explained everything so thoroughly. Loved this place! Went there recently for the first time and got a nose and forward helix piecing in the same trip. Not only is the staff tremendously friendly and helpful, they are more knowledgeable. They have beautiful jewelry to pick from and you are paying for a truly high quality piercing. I got my septum piercing done by Maddie. All of the workers here are incredibly nice and welcoming. I felt so comfortable the entire time. Maddie was noticeably very experienced and knew how to make me comfortable. I barely felt the needle go through and felt no pain at all thanks to her!
Had an excellent experience getting my nose pierced by Maddie a little under a year ago. So I decided to go back to her to get my nips done. I cannot rave enough about Maddie and the rest of the shop. Ive called for various reasons, ranging from making appointments to having questions, and each time I have been treated with total kindness. In the shop, the sweet girl at the counter (which I feel terrible for not remembering her name!) has warmly greeted me and walked me through the whole process of picking jewelry. And once in the room with Maddie, she is professional, hilarious and completely makes you feel at ease with the procedure. She knows her stuff and shares all her knowledge with you. I will never recommend any other place for piercings than Old Traditions!

Went in for my first ever piercing with my father. The customer service was truly amazing, felt as if we were bestfriends. Answered all questions no matter how dumb and gave so much time to let me look and decided what jewelry I wanted(even help point out some pieces after saying what I was into). Everything was sterilized using machines. Piercer (Maddie) made me feel comfortable and worked on my time, didnt rush, or force. 10/10 nothing negative to say, will be coming back if more piercings r in my future.
With the exceptionally attractive and well designed website with a treasure trove of info, easy online scheduling, the warm, comfortable, inviting, and clean space of the gallery/studio, and ESPECIALLY the wonderfully kind, patient, and professional people who work there, I can’t recommend Old Traditions enough. I walked out with two new piercings, beautiful jewelry, and a huge smile on my face. Highly recommend. With everything going on by appointment only, no guests allowed, took temperature right away & asked to sanitize hands. Everyone wore masks. Super friendly & very professional. Jewelry pricing was a little high in my opinion. Will definitely go back for any future piercings.

It was my first time coming to this shop and I do not regret it at all!! I’ve had a few piercings done before (my belly button, tragues, cartilage, and earlobes) BUT by far the piercings I got today were the most professional and clean piercings I’ve ever gotten. Derek S. was my piercing & he made me feel comfortable and calm. Explained everything that was going on and really made sure the experience went as smooth and fast as possible. Would 100% recommend. Will be coming back for other piercings if needed!

Im really surprised from the people rate them 5 star!!! if theres lower than 1 star i would do!! I will not say they are not professional! because i didnt pierced with RUDE greedy piercer!! not helpful at all with consultation after i stoped there after i booked for FREE consultation, i noticed next days,,, NO FREE consultation .. which is greedy. and the estimate for 1 or 2 gram 18k gold is 1500$,, included 55$ for piercing. the most expensive 2 or 3 gram 18 k gold not more than 200$.I don’t recommend this place for any people class!!!If you looking for cheap or expensive price!! Don’t stop there!

I found this shop while visiting family nearby, and it is definitely one of the favorite piercing shops I’ve been to around the world😊 Don’t be fooled by the suburban location; I would say that the quality of their job would be worth the trip from anywhere within driving distance. The shop owner shared with me the meaning of old traditions and its connection to his affinity for jewelry crafting. Inside the store are beautiful hand-crafted and other high-quality material piercings definitely worth every penny you pay for it. I came to re-pierce a navel that closed up about a year ago— the healing process this time has been significantly less problematic than my previous experience, which I think has to do a lot with the piercing procedure as well as the quality of the jewelry. The shops’ artists are not only clean, professional but also exhibit dedication to customers’ needs. The cohesive indigenous, simplistic aesthetic of both the store interior and jewelry designs align well with the meaning of the store— honoring old traditions, glorifying the dignity in defying modern social norms and staying true to your roots. Would highly recommend 10/10 experience.

I was 100000000000000% impressed with everything about the shop and the people that work there. Not only was it spotlessly clean but they took my temperature and made me sanitize my hands right when I walked in. They took their time with me picking out my jewelry for my piercing. When my piercer Maddie called me back, she was absolutely amazing!!!!!!! She was very informative and not to mention, extremely sterile with everything!!! She was gentile and my piercing was almost painless because of how she talked me through everything!!! She even cleaned my smeared mascara because my eyes were watering lol. She was the best piercer that I have ever experienced in my life and I have had MANY piercings through out my years!!! I not only highly recommend this establishment but I also highly recommend Maddie if anyone is looking to get a piercing!!

I got my nose pierced here and had a wonderful experience!! I felt as safe as I could with COVID going on, the staff took my temperature at the door, everyone was wearing masks at all times, and they only let people with appointments wait inside. Even though I’m relatively new to piercings (have only gotten my ears done) and am afraid of needles, the whole process was easy and painless. Chux did my piercing and he did a great job of explaining how it worked and it actually ended up not hurting at all. They also had a really nice selection of jewelry for reasonable prices. 10/10, couldn’t recommend more.

Today my wife and I visited Old Traditions piercing. She wanted to have a small nose piercing, well what I can say about this place is this. It has been a very very very long time, since I have been in a business that the staff and owner were so very professional and just down to earth people. The store was clean and the atmosphere was just great. Maddie ( hope I spell her name correctly. She was the technician serving my wife, She had such bedside manners, she should have have a career in the medical field. Just super awesome. Everything was explained in detail. No hassle or pressure, just the way I feel any business should be ran. From the phone call with “M” to the completion of the piercing, it was truly 5 star service. Highly recommended..
I would never trust anyone else doing my piercings. Chux and Maddie have done 4 of my piercings. Staff is attentive, they help you pick out jewelry, and explain everything thoroughly. The shop is so clean and you feel extremely comfortable the second you walk in. Even when they’re busy they get you in and out of the shop in a timely manner. Went in to talk about a PA piercing and ended up getting one. Ellie in the front was amazing!! Very friendly and fun person to talk too!! My girlfriend was also pierced and Ellie took the time to explain all her jewelry options and the effects that it will have on her body. Maddie did both piercings and made the experience amazing as well! Mine was in a really private area and she was as professional about it as anyone could wish for. Joking with us, took her time explaining the process, answering any questions along the way, and explained our after care and in good detail. Chux came in for “the show” and was joking around and having a good time in the room too!! He took some time to answer a few questions I had while I was settling up on the bill afterwards. I’m glad I went here to get pierced, very professional, joking (when need be), kind, caring, INFORMATIVE, and all around good people.

Oscar Chux Martinez Is the best EVER!!! I went in there wanting an industrial but Chux was so honest with me and made me a custom ring that looked just like what I wanted!!! I went into Old Traditions Piercing a few days ago and I couldn’t be more pleased with not only my results but just the experience as a whole. I had Derek as my piercer and he did such an amazing job!! I got a nose piercing and I have gotten my ears pierced in the past but was nervous about this piercing. I felt very secure with the sanitation of what was being done and the professionalism. Derek explained everything very well and I didn’t feel nervous considering he made it easy to not worry. I would highly recommend getting your piercings done here :)
