They went above and beyond to help me deal with the problem of not being able to wait for my car. They took me home and picked me up when car was done 👍. They did a great job, will take my car to them from now on.😊

I took my car here this past weekend for a routine oil change and tire rotation. I got a call from the front office telling me my car inspection had expired back in January and that I need to get it done ASAP since I can get a hefty ticket if pulled over. Since I am a medical student who will be out of state for the next 2 months, I figured it’s something I need to take care of urgently instead of getting 100s of dollars traffic ticket. They charged me $80 for a service that I have now come to learn is offered for free in East Orange next to the place you can get your auto registration renewal done. I felt their oil change, tire rotation quote was fair but I definitely feel ripped off over the car emission inspection. As a student $80 is a lot to pay out of pocket especially when this service is offered for free elsewhere!I would recommend folks to get a quote elsewhere before signing up for additional services offered by this place. I only went here since the place where I normally get an oil change isn’t open on weekends anymore.

I had a bad experience at this place!!!!! I had this place do work on my vehicles, and still having problems with my cars 🚗!!!!!! The owner is very Nasty how he treats customers, as well as myself! His nationality is Hindi, or India. He wanted $125.00 just to check my hoses, he must be out of his mind!!!!! He tries to charge the most ridiculous prices he can, and when you tell him about his prices, he is so Nasty!!!!! I do not like this owner, hes out to get peoples money anyway he can!!!!! And he is very disrespectful!!!!!! And when you bring your car 🚗 back from work they performed because things arent right, he has a bad attitude, and talks Nasty!!!!!! I do not trust this place!!!! I have only great things to say about Quality Auto Centers! The owner Ken always greets me with a smile and gives me an honest evaluation of my car. They never try to up-sell me on anything. The prices are very reasonable and even though I moved an hour away, I still come here because I trust them. I have had major and minor fixes throughout the years and they always get me my car back in a timely manner. HIGHLY recommend!

Me and a friend needed tire service, I got a plug and he needed the tire on the rim. Our mechanic, Dave, took us in right away and got both jobs done within 15 minutes, and was very nice to the both of us. Im only giving 4 out of 5 stars because the cashier was very rude to the mechanics as well as with people over the phone. I would try to avoid him as best as you can.

I had the most wonderful experience with Quality Auto Center. Everyone from the owner to the staff were very professional and courteous. Also, theyre very helpful and kind! Stay far away! Place is a scam. They are super overpriced ( like $200+ over normal service cost). They do half jobs and dont fix the real issue. They are also rude and super unprofessional. Stay far away from this place way better mechanics and shops around save you money and a headache.

My husband went to get a oil change today. He was charged $73 . Ive never been anywhere that charges for a labor fee for a oil change. They charge you for filters which is included in the oil change. He than ask why is it so much and the person states they dont carry the oil. That shouldve been told to him at the beginning. 1st and last time ever going to this place.

I was visiting from out of state and I started having some car trouble. I was still on the road and quickly googled one of the closest garages to me and came across Quality Auto Centers in South Orange. It was later in the evening but Mr. Ken answered my call and agreed to stay open late to help me out. Everything was explained to me clearly and they had the car ready for me just in time for me to head back. This is the type of small business we should be supporting. I highly recommend them!!!

I found the staff to be very professional and attentive to my questions about the repairs needed for my vehicle.I was not impressed with the owner. I had to schedule two appointments, and the owner wanted me to pay upfront for tomorrow service to guarantee that I would come back. I paid for the tire that I need for tomorrow but not the repairs they’ve yet to perform. I was insulted. I spent a great deal of money yesterday and will spend a significant more before all is said and done. The owner needs to step aside and let the staff handle the customers. If not for the staff, I wouldn’t be returning.For the staff five stars. For the owner, one.

Every time I have an issue with my car, I either take it in or drop it off the bright before. I have never had an issue with any repair. Ray is great at explaining things to me. They have been honest and fair with their prices. They won’t sell you something you won’t need and believe me, I’ve asked for many things. Excellent customer service / quality.

Ive been coming here for about 12 years. When Ray and Reuben was working there the customer service was great. Theyll work with you on the price etc. The owner Ken is an ass and once they left the service went down hill. They dont work with their loyal customers anymore to keep the business coming to them. The new people that work there sucks. Looking for a new place to service my car. I advise to not go to them. Convenient location but I rather travel elsewhere.After returning to Quality Auto to have work done on my daughters car. I was pleased to see tremendous improvement in Kens customer service skills. He definitely shows that he values loyal customers and is fair with his pricing. The mechanics there are the best. Ive known them for years. Ken is willing to work with you to get the job done. I have been dealing with this shop for over a year and I have never had a bad experience. The guys at the shop are always pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and I have never felt as if they were trying to take advantage of me. Every time I drop my vehicle off, I am contacted with details and repair options if available.As a woman, it is hard to find a decent auto shop . However, Quality Auto (South Orange) has definitely gained my trust. I would recommend this shop to anyone who wants quality work done. I must reiterate that all of the staff (even the owner) have been extremely nice, helpful and professional throughout every contact I have had-which has been over 5 times with 2 different vehicles.

Ive trusted Quality Auto for a couple of years now and they havent let me down. Theyre very transparent with their diagnostic work and the labor. Prices are extremely fair and my car has not gone back more than once for the same significant repair. I was referred by Monty Motors who repairs our other car. We dropped my sons car in the morning due to a maintenance required light that came on. Don was knowledgeable and honest. He indicated that the last person who completed an oil change, did not reset the message. We also had two other items that needed attention. Don communicated throughout the day and offered us options to remedy the problem. Repairs were completed on-time and as promised. I thought the cost of the repair was relatively reasonable.

They will tell you the truth about your car but you have to have them run individual test instead of them saying wait let me check this while I do this. But they are okay

Ive gone to Quality on several occasions to have my car and my daughters car serviced. I have always found Ken and his staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The staff are so great that I will continue to do business with them. Their pricing is fair and they work with you. It is also conveniently located.

Went here recently to get car inspection and was in and out fairly quickly without any hassle. The staff is experienced and trustworthy. Although the owner is a bit standoffish.

This review is for a job done in May 2017: my oil changes here for a year were fine but my last time here they recommended I needed new steering wheel fluid and AC freon. I had them take care of it. After a few weeks I noticed my steering wheel become stiff, and after some time it became extremely stiff. Also the AC was not blasting super cold air like it should have. I decided to take it to a Honda dealership to get it checked out by professionals... and they said the steering wheel fluid was the wrong fluid, it was filled to the max and over flowing, also a part warped because of the pressure buildup. They also added the correct amount of freon in AC. In all I spent $4k at Honda just to have them fix it all. I no longer go to local mechanics.

I dont give reviews often like this but I am compelled to do it after my experience today. Ive gone to this establishment about 4 or 5 times over the years. The first few times were fine, they were nice. I went last month for a quick oil change because I needed to go on a last minute trip. They provided me with a list of things they said I need like a tune up. I had a tune up recently and just needed an oil change. After a while they took me in the garage to look up at my truck showed me a pan under my truck. He said it needed to be changed. I asked them to just do oil change. I took it back to my regular mechanic who ensured me that it was fine and was taken care of my last service date. Today, I needed an inspection sticker, this company offers a coupon for it. I shouldve known at that point why. I went for the inspection and after about 10 minutes waiting inside the guy I think I heard someone call him Ray. He calls me outside and into the garage and says get inside and hit the brakes. I said nothing is wrong with my brakes. He said no its your front end, do you feel that when you stop hard on the brakes? I said no. He said you dont...?!!! As if Im clueless to what I am feeling. At this point I recall my previous experience and I realized what was happening. So I firmly said to him, Okay. Give me my documentation back. Thats it Im done here. He walks further into the garage and began to swear at me because I see the game. The mechnaic then tells this guy to chill out. I told him to watch his mouth and he should remember he doesnt know his customers. He was very unprofessional and disrespectful. At this point I told him that he lied and do not to get angry with the truth. Listen, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UPSELLING AND STRAIGHT LYING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!I returned to the office get my spare key and the owner is acting like he knows nothing. I told him that he will not have my business. ** I went on the same street to another auto garage and they inspected my vehicle and expressed NO issues existed and gave me a new inspection sticker. NEVER allow someone to disrespect you as a customer.

BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS AND LIERS! I had to take my car there 3x in one week for the same issue!!! The third time, they got a flat tire while the mechanic when to go get lunch in my car! they failed to tell me!! the only reason I found out is because they did not put my spare back where it belonged! then I realized they didnt even put my original tire back on (which was new!!!!) they replaced it with an old used tire!!!! this is by far the worst place to do business with!!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Complete rip off. Had to constantly return to fix the same issue they supposedly took care of and this occurred on several occasions. Overpriced and my car always comes out with more issues than it originally had. Do not be fooled by these people.

I have to say this is the first time Im writing a review - thats how upset I am from getting completely ripped off from Quality Auto Centers in South Orange NJ. Heres my story: This past fall (Oct - 2012) I went to this place for new brakes, ties and oil change.....which cost me over $1,800...I didnt think twice about it because I just wanted the best for my car Quality. Quality is the last thing I received!!!! Two weeks ago my car starts shaking when I pressed on the Brake - this typically happens when its time for new brakes. How can that be...I just paid to have this done by Quality Auto Centers in South Orange NJ? I bring my car to a family mechanic (2 hour drive - because I cant TRUST any of these auto repair shops). My family member told me the brakes and rotors Quality Auto Center put on were EXTREMELY cheap quality and are completely shot!!!! This is just bad business - I hope this guy is shut down or goes out of business for what he does to the locals that use him

I was ripped off in the auto repair. First they wont to change the conventional oil and insist to change the synthetic oil and charge a high amount. Second, they changed the air filter and did not mention the final amount in the end. Finally I paid $88 plus $19 groupon (thats $107 to do an oil change). Shame on them. Disgusting auto service.

Groupon was $39 for an oil change. They charged over $31 more for fees. Shady.
