I absolutely LOVED this place! EVERYONE here carried FABULOUS attitudes. No one was rude everyone seemed upbeat. There was 1 woman who didnβt say anything but that had nothing to do with me I was being assisted and conversing with several employees. My experience was a plus and will definitely make this a regular place to shop and shoot. Again, I enjoyed the atmosphere great vibe Action Impactπ
The place was pretty swicked. Nice folks and quite the selection. Now this one is on me and it can be remedied since I know my weapons, and can work on it, but be careful and do your research. I went in there for a specific 9mm and was told it was a full size, only to find, tho my new weapon had not been used, too late to exchange that it was a smaller size than what the dealer had shared to my face. Still a great place so far.
Bill and Scott were very helpful. They have a huge selection and a very friendly staff . The Range was clean and I was able to get right in. I would highly recommend Action Impact .
Ive attended training at action impact a few times at the eastpointe location with no real interaction with the staff and it was adequate. Last year around this time I went to the southfield location and bro was it totally different. The staff was rude, they had lines set up to keep people from approaching the counter and it was just overall a bad experience. We went in there to buy a shotgun and as soon as we asked if they had it, they just laughed and said, try ordering online. This places sucks more than a Shanghai sweetie...
Went into this location seeking to purchase two fire arms a rifle and a compact 9mm.The insist that you sit down at one of man small tables they have around the showcase. The sales person comes back and fourth with firearms that donβt fit the. Description of what I explained I wanted. When I asked about specific brands or fire arms his reply was βI donβt know about research guns that I donβt buy myselfβ which is fine but why the heck do you work in a gun store trying to sell guns then? I canβt speak for all the salesmen but avoid the overweight Indian/Chaldean looking guy with the beard. Iβll drive two hours to the gun store Iβm used to where the salesmen know everything about guns!
Took the online CPL training course and it was outstanding! The instructor / owner Bill is highly educated and a great presenter! Completing the course in store was an awesome experience as well. Easily scheduled and very accommodating. all in all a great experience.
They are very slow with transfers. The whole entire staff is rude. And theyβre overpriced on all weaponry. I will never buy from here again
Iβve seen some of the reviews....some of them are right as far as prices of the merchandise and accessories are overpriced true sometimes the people do not have good customer service it just depends on the person an the day..... but one of the instructors called the janitor help me today very knowledgeable he took time out and explain some things to me helped me site in my weapon That alone was a five-star experience.....Thanks Bro!!!!!
Donβt waste your time coming here! Read other reviews you will know why!
Ask for Sam he is very knowledgeable in the guns and even gave me a free extension clip
I recently purchased 2 fire arms from here the staff here are nice and friendly good customer service and reasonable prices to
Very professional staff but a little bit pricey
Very rude and nasty attitude from what they pass off as sales people as well as who I assumed was the owner or some type of boss who seemed to only be interested in my money he never introduced himself I felt like they really didnt want to serve me or any of the other African Americans shopping there I dont want to play the race card maybe thats just how the staff is to everyone there is one good guy there named Gary who was very helpful but I will never do business there ever again
This place used to be decent but its really taken a deep dive lately. The clientele has changed it seems like they attract the wrong crowd. The covid rules are way too obnoxious, sit at a table with a mask on and we can bring a gun to you that you ask for. No browsing, no breathing freely and the selection was abysmal. If you can avoid going here then I suggest ya do.Uncoiled is a great store and range that I now frequent.
They were AWFUL! My first experience with Action Impact was disappointing due to the hostility the worker had with the guy I was dating at the time. Further, he didnt want to take anything out of the display and when he did he tried to micromanage me. At that time because of how horrible he was I decided to leave and did not purchase. So I decided to give them another try hoping my previous experience was a fluke, it wasnt. This time he clearly did not want to wait on me and was looking for an excuse to get me out the door. Needless to say I am over Action Impact because they are rude and I dont want to say it was because of my skin color but I believe it was. I would NEVER spend my money in a place where I am treated as an after thought. I would not recommend.
I waited for about 10 minutes at the place where they say you need to wait. I wasnβt once even acknowledged. The owner walked by me several times and didnβt say a word. So I left. Iβm not spending my money at a place that to me was rude. I will never return. There are too many places to go around here.
Went online to sign up for an IN PERSON class. Just for the then have everyone show up and say theyβre completely booked. People took off work to take this class. Just for yβall to say yβall over scheduled. Unprofessional. Why have have slots still open if your full.
Came here after Target Sports treated me poorly. I was very impressed with the staff, process, and facilities. Very nice people, and I will absolutely go back here.
I picked up a weapon today that was a transfer. I had nothing but top notch service. I want to thank Nicholas for his hospitality and expertise. Ive shopped this store on and off for years and always had a pleasurable experience.
This location is a joke, called to inquire about a firearm and was put on hold 3 times. I hung up and called back and asked to speak with a manager and got the same results.
I paid back in 2/20 right before corona hit. I understand that everyone had to close but now it is 6/20 and other ranges are open. I cant even get you on the phone! Id like my $ back to go elsewhere!
I had a great experience here with Nick. He was patient, knowledgeable about guns and showed me good safety techniques. Nick helped me pick the best gun to protect my family and home. I give them a thumbs up because the staff was friendly and I wasnt pressured to make that purchase. I feel confident about gun use and safety.
Please stand at the red line (while I go play on my phone) said the blonde lady with an attitude lol. Ill pass.
With some real knuckleheads all the time. StillGreat to all men and women. Only one guy is a bit βused car salesβ and will offer next to nothing for used arms. We know itβs business but we also know when someone or yourself is being ripped offThatβs goes for sales as well. SometimesThey have typical brick and mortar prices which areFine, but sometimes theyβre way overpriced.Ranges are great and range officers are ALLawesome and know the difference between RO and commando. Very safe and clean place. Lots of selections and TONS of holsters.
Had a great instructor for my CPL class. Nice range with a lot of stalls. Large selection of rentals and for purchase. Fair prices. Knowledgeable staff
Had a great experience the staff was very helpful and patient. The store was clean and had everything we needed.
Didnt have to wait long even doe they were letting you in 1by 1 due to the viruse. They was pleasant and very helpful.
Great place great staff they even got training for kids
Great place to practice safe gun shooting. Employees are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Lot of options for men and women if purchasing a gun. Some are even pink!!! The owner is friendly as well. They offer CPL classes.
Good staff very professional. Weapons prices appear to be marked up quite a bit. Bought a pistol that should have cost $499 for almost $700.
The Janitor is the best! I had been going to places in my area for over a year and not once did they provide feedback on small techniques that could literally be the difference between life and death. I got great tips on how improve my performance and supportive advice. As a complete side note to women- when they say shoot like a girl and literally mean be empowered to protect yourself, you know they intend for you to be equipped with knowledge to be safe.
CPL class instructor Keith is a great ! He kept the class interesting and fun. Would 10/10 recommend to anybody looking to take a firearms class here.
I would give zero-star review for the lady at the desk of the shooting range. Terrible service with the most unfriendly face Ive ever seen. The guys at the gun shop side are actually very very nice, and very helpful. Four stars to them.I would want to come here often if the lady were to be fired... Two stars overall.
Always an excellent experience when we visit. The staff is always very polite and extremely knowledgeable. Keep up the Good Work
Wonderful place like always, great people and atmosphere more than willing to help and are very Hands-On even when it comes down to explaining anything with your gun. Know the ins and outs with no question or doubt. I went in for a gun cleaning today.lol. or should I say a deep cleaning he was very professional and made a miracle come true. Anybody who goes there will not regret it yet again great facility and staff.
Nothing but good experiences here, wife and I took our CPL class here and have purchased a couple of guns here as well. The range staff and sales staff are helpful and friendly and the facilities are kept clean. Sam is a great guy to deal with and has gone out of his way to help find the right products for my wife and myself. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Wont be back started going there again a couple of years ago after a bad experience and now they want you to commit a felony to enter the place to use your firearms kind of silly wont be back
Called ahead to confirm hours. Drove 45 minutes for them to say they stop taking customers an hour before closing. Just an oh well come back tomorrow. Customer service at an all time low. I think Iβll wait this out until someone more concerned )at least feigned) is stocked.
Some of the prices are high, but good selection and the staff has great knowledge.
Attended the Sunday CPL class in Southfield, James is a thorough instructor and very informative. Range has great lighting and ventilation and has a nice selection of items. Strongly recommend for training, shooting and shopping.
Great place to shop and get some range time. Friendly helpful staff!
This is by far my favorite place to go shooting, the staff is the most friendly I have ever encountered in a shooting range. The selection is very diverse and overall their facility is very clean and professional looking. My wife tried many guns here before deciding on her own, the female staff was great at assisting her make some decisions.
My wife and I were looking to be first time handgun owners. When I was researching online for a good place with knowledgeable staff, I decided to give them a call. The person I spoke to on the phone was extremely polite and answered all my questions. I decided this was the place I was going to take my wife for her first time shooting. We talked to a very nice lady running the gun range, she was a former Marine, who suggested the caliber to try. The gentleman at the range, a retired cop, was very patient and knowledgeable with helping us both learn proper gun safely. They allowed us to try several different gun types for our one rental fee, had we switched caliber, we would have needed to purchase additional ammo, very reasonable. After we were done shooting and getting great advise, we spoke to another gentlemen who helped us purchase or new handgun. He was also very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Both myself and my wifes experience was world class. It was totally worth the extra drive!
This place is always closed and the staff seemTo always βcloseβ when people show up. Wouldnβt recommend
My first time at Action Impact, my son invited me and has been there many times. Nice store with plenty stock of hand guns, rifles and accories. Fair price for gun range. We called ahead to make sure we could get on range. Easy check-in and got on range but then our time was cut short because they scheduled class training on the range.
Love this place! It was my very first time dealing with a firearm to this degree. The staff was a great help and yes Keith is wonderful, he took his time to show me safety and a more comfortable way on handling a firearms. He also allowed me to use serval different firearms. Weekend, when they first open are the best. I will always go back, I really enjoyed it there.
This is my favorite range in southeast Michigan. The staff is very friendly and if they dont know the answer or have what you are looking for, they will point you in the right direction. Their range is very well lit and very well ventilated. I took their CPL class along with 15 others, which ranged from first timers to experienced shooters. Neil, our instructor, was patient, thorough and made sure everyone understood the responsibility being taken on when carrying. Every time I go there, its a great experience.
I have been coming here forever but I found a great deal around black friday on a firearm. I wasnt sure about their FFL transfer fee so I called and was told it was $20 per firearm. WHEN THE FIREARM CAME IN THEY TOLD ME $65!!! that is absolutely ridiculous for a less then 10 minute phone call especially since EVERYONE charges between $20-$30 for the same service. They have seriously lost a few customers on this one as we usually come as a group! Terrible!!!
Owner and staff are all very friendly and will help with enthusiasm! Gotta give them credit for dealingWith some real knuckleheads all the time.
Never a bad experience. Always greeted coming into store, everyone on staff knows me and my family members names, very very courteous and polite with a mission of helping to the best of their abilities. We love Action Impact not just for the range time, but also because of their staff, Very helpful, Very informative Very pleasant attitudes and Very attentive to our needs on the types of weapons we were looking to purchase.
Did an online order. They played games on giving their FFL license. The owner is a racist. The owner told me I was not his customer because I ordered my gun online! The trash bag blonde that works there is a liar, did not send a simple fax. Would never spend my hard earned money with trash
They have a nice range (at least they used to a few years back, last time I was there)... I went there a few times to use the range and never had any problems - employees were nice, helpful. One time after finishing up on the range, I walked out to the showroom to see a couple of employees behind the counter clowning around and pointing guns at each other. I expect the people in charge of the gun range to take their firearms a little more seriously than this, Ill never step foot in the place again.
Unfortunately, pressure to purchase a firearm has become somewhat of an industry norm. Many retail dealers actually pitch the model of the week regardless of its ability to meet a customers needs. For me walking into Action Impact was like a breath of fresh air. My sales person was very knowledgeable. He took the time to help me assess what type of pistol best met my needs. I suppose I might have saved a dollar or two buying from a big box store or even online. But like my granddad used to say, you cant get personal service or a sales professionals expertise from a catalogue. He was right. I should also mention that Action Impact has a wide variety of supplies to meet any shooters needs. Thank you Action Impact, youve made a customer for life.
I forgot the name of the Guy who helped me, but he was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing, helped me change the choke on my shotgun and explained to me how everything works. Cannot wait to go back there!
We decided to get back into practice with our guns and of course maintain our CPL License. Everyone was so helpful!! From the minute my friend and I walked in, everyone was kind and took safety to the highest level. We laughed a lot and shot a few boxes of ammo. After the range, we decided to look at the new guns and holsters and Brad was the best! We plan to make this a regular meeting spot.
Great facility, nice and clean. Sometimes there are few issues with machines not functioning and very long wait times for a lane if you happen to stop by when they have CPL classes, almost no lanes available. So make sure to call ahead of time to see if they have classes going on, or if any open lanes are available. One thing I love is that this is probably the only place you can do a rapid fire for your pistol.
Very kind and helpful staff. good with 1st timers and helping them feel safe and understanding firearm safety
Rude, Dont waste your time. They have the oh Im smarter then everyone because I work with guns attitude. Short disrespectful, bunch of used car-salesmen type.
Class was good. Reasonable prices. Very helpful. Nice atmosphere and staff.
Its a decent range, I would say about three out of five, nothing special. However a couple of years ago they decided to implement a new policy: you pay $5 more to shoot your own ammo. You can buy their ammo at 2-3 times the price, or you can pay $5 more to shoot your own. Thats a ripoff if I ever saw one - one way of another they are going to rip you off. Staff will defend this policy shamelessly.Since there is absolutely nothing that makes this range stand out from the other ones in the area, besides a higher price, I have not reason to return here to pay more.
My wife and I took our CPL training at Action Impact, Leroy Shepherd was our instructor. The class was great, Leroy was awesome and the overall experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend this class at this location to anyone. Also the air quality of the range is unbelievable, Ive been to many ranges where you smell like a shooting range when you leave, this is not the case at Action Impact.
I had a great experience here.I liked the instructors for the CPL class and I really liked the information that the owner shared via a video tape. I thought it was going to be a long and boring class but I got a lot of very important information. Also the range was a great experience. Very clean and professional.
Being new to firearms I was a bit hesitant and not sure what to expect. I was treated with respect, not talked down to and the employees made sure I had supervision on the range. Keith is amazing! Not all ranges have range officers on the range - but AI does. Keith understood my hesitancy and took the time to explain everything, offer advice and suggest a couple different types of guns I might like. If you rent a gun, you can change it out as many times as you like (you will need the correct ammo) which is great - that way youre not stuck with a gun you dont care for the entire rental time.New guns are a bit pricey, BUT you get a month of free range time, which can add up $$ quickly. :>The facility is clean and well kept, range fees are average, rental selection is good and the employees are helpful.
Pricing is good. Ammo a little steep. Service is good once you get some one to help. Mostly Im very impressed with the range officers being on the range through out the day and the store looks sharp and is well stocked. Target rail system also gets 4 stars
Very helpful great experience great knowledge of owning a CPL instructors will highly recommend this place mel.b is it excellent CPR trainer .
Clean, bright showroom. Awesome inventory of new and rental guns. Got to try 6 9mm pistols until I found the one really liked. Friendly and very helpful staff. After shopping around, I ended up buying from Cabelas because their prices on handguns cant be beat and these guys wont price match. The range is good with decent prices for reloads, which is all I shoot anyway. Will definitely be spending time here.
Very friendly and helpful atmosphere. We had a large class, yet the instructor Bryon took the time to make sure we all had an excellent learning experience. He is certainly passionate anout his trade, and seems to genuinely care about his students success.Highly recommend this class. Thanks for a great job.
Went in and was helped right away at the counter. The gentleman was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about other options. Was even able to give suggestions for concealed carry as Im in a wheelchair and didnt really know the best way. Will definitely purchase my firearm from this facility as well as the safety class they offer.
The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They know when to be serious and when to make it fun. The are more than happy to answer questions and let you handle merchandise. Its a great experience every time I go.
My husband loves coming here for all his hunting needs. They also have a good range with staff that helps when shooting if you need it
I wish i could give zero stars horrible customer service wont even answer the phones very unfriendly and unprofessional...i ordered my forearms and had them delivered there no one has answered the phone in weeks
The CPL class was very good. The instructor kept the students involved and laughing while intructing on the proper use of a hand gun and personal protection. The gun rental is a different story, the gun i rented for my class had a jam when loading the first round in the chamber from the clip. This happened 4 times to me and 1 time to the range master. The gun was dirty and needed to be cleaned. I am curious how often they clean their rental guns.
Nice staff who seem very helpful and knowledgeable. Clean indoor range just make sure to bring brass case ammo.
I remember one day first was about to open up years ago Starting the business. I also took my CPL class here
I took my CPL class there and also purchased a firearm there. The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The class was amazing, the instructor was detailed and took his time explaining everything.
Went to this range for the first time today. It was a great experience. All of the staff members were very friendly, including the RO.If bringing own ammo there is an additional fee.All in all, I will be back again soon.
Very disappointed in the company and havent been inside the store yet ... I am 20 years of age, never had any experience with guns but looking to purchase one next month for my 21st birthday. There was a certain gun I was looking to buy but I wasnt sure if they just trained customers to use fire arms, sold firm arms or both. Not having time to go on the site I figured I would just call and ask. The first person I spoke told me No we clean animals here. Very rude and sarcastic like. Mind you Im just an individual with no gun experience trying to be enlightened. Then when I asked to speak to a manager I was put on the phone with an individual who wasnt a manager, because when I tried to confirm his position at the company he said, Oh no let me get him for you. So I asked for the manager again .. Finally spoke with Sam he told me he would handle it and gave me helpful information about guns. I know this is a long review however I plan on spending thousands of dollars, between me, my partner, and other family members that planned on all getting trained on my 21st birthday. Oh well. All I can say is Sam sounds very professional and business orientated however I would only deal with him if I were you.
I really wanted to like action impact since they have a solid selection of rifles. But the first bad thing is they wont sell rifles to anyone under 21 for some reason. The employee i asked to pull down a rifle had no idea what it was, and again couldnt let me hold it due to being 20 at the time.I looked at the price tag and a gun that sells for around 1000$ was being sold for almost 1,600$.I know they have to make money but thats crazy.I will give them that the employees that work there were pretty dang nice though.
Staff are friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. Bought a pistol here and got one month of free range time. I will definitely be returning to take a CPL course. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reputable gun shop.
Place is OK and range is good but $65 FFL transfer fee is robbery. I understand youre offering a service but theres places that charge $20-35. Actually everything here is overpriced. I suggest you spend your money elsewhere where firearms are priced competitively and service is better.
After 2 years of driving by I finally decided to stop in because all of my local shops were out of stock on almost everything. I was surprised to find that they have an excellent selection of modern rifles and 1911s. The employees were friendly and didnt mind chatting a bit either. Definitely better than Shooters Service.
Great service!! Every time I walk in there I feel like a part of the family they all say hi and chat with my husband and myself. Always offering tips on the range ! I wont go to another range.
I am a new shooter with limited exposure to various gun ranges but I give Action a thumbs up. The staff is really helpful and easy going. I went on a weekday morning to avoid the weekend crowd, me and my wife had the range to ourselves. For a single rental fee you can try as many different rentals guns as you wish. Sorry I forgot her name but the blonde woman who helped us was great. She set up several small concealed carry weapons for us to try and really knew her stuff. I have one small complaint though, Action uses reloads for their range ammo and it jammed up 3 different weapons I was trying. This was annoying because I was only able to expel a full magazine on 3 of the 6 weapons I tested. Two different employees came out on to our lane on two occasions to lend some assistance. I think he was testing to see if it was the way I was shooting but the weapon jammed on him as well after he cleared it. Although the jamming of the guns did allow me to gain some experience clearing a jammed firearm. As far as price goes they are very competitive on weapons, range fees and rentals. I went to another range today and were charging 10 dollars each time you switched out a weapon. Action cannot be beat in this area. They also had a certain very popular pistol 50 dollars cheaper than Gander Mountain. All in all a top shop with good people and a nice facility. I am a fan.
Always great service at action impact.
Took cpl class with Ted Wright very helpful and informative answered all my questions and very kind staff
Went to a class on 10/72015. The class itself and the information were invaluable. The instructor was himself I found offensive. His off color jokes, little jabs and inappropriate jokes were not at all professional. This was my second time going to their class. He was nothing like the first instructor at all. I dont know if Ill return there for renewal again and if I do Ill be sure to check who is instructing the course.
Few points...1. Over MSRP on the majority of firearms.2. $19.99 for a 30 round PMAG. I know they purchase them $5 a mag.3. Too many friends and family members employed there.4. The short range officer will talk your ear off while youβre trying to shoot. Dude, youβre digging into my range time that I purchased.5. Charging more money to shoot my own ammo is absolutely absurd.6. Staff will ignore you. Rarely anyone ever approached me while in the store or at the counter.7. Owner doesnβt like open carry. Seriously? Who GAF? My rights donβt end where your feelings begin.8. Place is a hood rat magnet.9. Parking lot is a pain in the ass.10. Rarely have parts in stock. βWe can order itβ Yeah, I can order it too champ. I donβt want to order it. Thatβs why I came here.Ok so that was more than a few, but you get the idea.
I love the range. Very well laid out, safety officers do a great job keeping things safe. Air handling system is one of the best. While I have a range 2 miles from my house, I travel 15 miles to Action Impact because of this. Never had issues bringing my own ammo. Did a FFL transfer there too, no issues and everything went smoothly. The staff was helpful. FFL price is $65. Will agree though while their selection of firearms is good, the prices are high. The guns tend to be more tactical/defense oriented, as I dont see a lot of hunting rifles and shotguns. However not to say they couldnt order you something or have something close. If you need an indoor range to shoot at this is one of the best.
Not a gun lover, nor a local... We visited Action Impact as Aussies a long way from home with little/no experience of a gun range and throughly enjoyed the experience. Special thanks to the reception girls and our host/instructor Lawrence who made us welcome and helped us learn the basics of pistol shooting and safety.A good experience all around
Great CPL class, Bryon was very knowledgeable about conceal carry laws and different firearms. He definitely made it worth my time to be there for 8 hours. I learned a lot! Would recommend the CPL class here to anyone.I also recommend anyone who comes in for a class with their own firearm to come with it in a hard case if possible. You will be able to transport it from the classroom to the range and back on your own in the case. If you carry without a case (i.e. in a holster) they will take it from you. The owner and employees are not fond of open carry for customers.I would never buy a firearm from this place, you can find cheaper prices at other shops. Many accessories to choose from here, but again, check elsewhere, including online.
The best in metro Detrot. Ive only had great experiences here. Especially Keith, James, Sam and the owner Bill. You CAN bring in your own ammo as long as it is not steel, Ive seen this at several ranges not just here.
I have been here many times even got my CPL and renewal through them and that is all ok service but what ticked me off I was going to purchase a new holster, waiting my turn for the guy to finish with a customer he rapped up with that guy looked right through me to the guy behind me and asked him what he needed. I simply said well I guess you dont need my money anymore, put the holster on counter and walked out.
The stuff was very good and helpful, they give us really nice deals for five peoples, and its cheap also. We really enjoyed over first shooting experience...
Went into Action to view some handguns I was interested in purchasing didnβt receive a warm welcome first off wasnβt recognized as a potential paying customer at all. Then when I finally got some help the guy was giving me nothing but attitude then when I didnβt purchase the weapon he slams the gun case door like he was annoyed or something smh poor service I wil never ever shop at this over priced, poor as hell customer service place again.
Talked on the phone with a guy who was condescending and tried to rush me off the phone. I have gone here several times and the owner is nice so I will give two stars.
The instructors are nice and are always ready to answer questions.
Will not even bother going to this range, they charge you extra for range time if you bring your own ammo.
I went to this place once and almost immediately walked out the door. It looks really nice on the outside and inside, but a business is only as good as the employees and service. You can gold plate and spray perfume on a turd, but its still a turd. This place sucks. The employees were ignoring numerous customers (myself included) to joke with each other and were playing with the guns like they were toys. Seriously, I have never seen such immaturity in a gun shop.I will never go here again.
I was in line about to purchase a gun and bullets and the owner came out and got into it with an employee in front of the customers and was very rude. This made us leave because it was uncalled for. Tension was already high because weβre lined up due to the customer limitation but he was very rude and disrespectful. We left and chose to take our business to Target.
Never had an issue at AI. Clean, well organized. Great instructors. Get my guns cleaned there. Wish it was closer to my house!!!
