Mr. Mower of Southfield is highly recommended. My mower was sputtering and blowing out blue and white smoke during operation. I took it to Mr. Mower and explained it to the old guy and he gave me tips to fix it my self. I took the mower home and did as he prescribed and it cost me less than $15. Within an hour, I was in operation cutting my lawn. Think about it, he could have taken the mower and charged me $75 or more to fix it. Thanks Mr. Mower for your honesty.

Do you want someone who meets you with a big smile and tries to sell you something you may not need, or do you want a straight shooter who knows his stuff and can fix anything that’s reparable? I’ve gone to George for many years and only hope he’s got many more. Simply the best.

The dude is kind of short and harsh but he does fantastic work. Honestly I don’t mind his attitude because he gets things done right. My only knock is that he’s too busy and needs to hire more people because there is always like a 2 week wait at least

Great customer service.

My 25yr old mower wouldnt start. I cleaned the carburetor, changed the plug and air filter...still no start. Took my mower to George and before I could roll it into the shop, he came outside and diagnosed the problem in less than 2 minutes. The engine stop cable was broken and needed replacing. A DIY job. He didnt have the cable in stock but took the time to locate the part# and told me where to find it.Ive been dealing with George for 15+ years and when he repairs a unit it stays repaired. If it breaks, it due to neglect or in my case, old age.So if youre looking for a place where the folks kiss your butt just because your alive or the shop is pretty and clean...this is not the place for you. If you want your equipment fixed right the first time and a shop that looks worked in....this is the place. Southfield is blessed to have Mr Mower!Thanks, George!

Very Honest.

The owner definitely knows how to repair lawn mowers and snow blowers but he is very rude to customers. I have seen and experienced his rude behavior on multiple occasions. People only go here because he is the only business in the vicinity providing this service.

Extremely knowledgeable and knows how to get the job done right. They have the best brands of lawn mowers and power equipment as well as the knowledge to repair them and any other type of power tools. They even service and sell snow blowers in the winter! The work Ive had done is always top notch and I havent had a problem with any of the serviced machines Ive brought in. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!

Honest and fast service. Dropped off my mower and was still able to make it to work. Will update this review when I get my mower back in 2 weeks.Update: Mower works well, I also brought in my snowblower, forgot to pick it up for a while and just got it back when it started snowing and I couldnt find my snowblower. Started with 4 stars, bumped it up to 5 because the owner didnt give me a hard time for not picking it up earlier, and for fast service. Owner demeanor is one of a no nonsense boomer, so if you can get past that, this is your place. Will come here again.

If you want personal service from an old dude who wont try to upsell you on bull you dont need, then this is the place for you. The owner has sold me two Stihl chainsaws, put up with all my obnoxious questions, and shown me everything I need to know about taking care of the tools Ive bought from him. George is unbelievably rude=the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. When I brought my lawn mower in at the end of the season for a tune up and maintenance, he yelled from the counter, Dont even think about leaving that here all winter! When I returned in a week, as instructed, my lawnmower was out of doors, behind his shop, in the snow and he had not done a thing to it. The store is filthy, he is rude and I dont pay people to abuse me. Right now I am looking for another business to service my lawn mower. So much for supporting local business in Southfield.

George knows his stuff. He is through and will fix your equioment right the first time. He is on the quiet side which some misunderstand as him being rude. he is not. I have been taking and buying my equipment from hom for over 15 years. I would not go anywhere else

Not very helpful if you have questions or for general information. The place is a wreck, dirty and un-kept. Very nasty attitude if you ask questions or have concerns about repairs. Store upkeep and customer service need to improve.
