I really enjoy grocery shopping at this Meijer. They usually have all the specialty items I need in stock. Out of the grocery stores in the area they have the best produce with the best prices. They also have a great feature on the Meijer app where you can clip coupons and also shop and scan your items to make check out faster and easier. All you do is scan your item then place them in your cart. You can then go to any check out (even U scan ) and they scan your qr code on your phone, then you can pay and your done. Its easier if you bring your own bags. The store is usually clean and organized.

I always shop meijer love their sales but have to get there as soon a sale start of forget getting the good specials the cashiers usually nice and helpful doing remodeling now so go to another further away

Wanted to give a shout out to my cashier today, according to the receipt her name is Cynthia. She was very pleasant to chat with while she was scanning my groceries. I always appreciate people like her who are pleasant and kind. Customer service in general is almost always A+ at this location. Even during these very trying times for people working in customer service industries.

Went for organic spinach & mixed greens. Completely OUT! Plenty of other unwanted items. Also, needed frozen fruit. Only had $10 bags. Every time I visit this place they are always of OUT of everyday items. Going back to Allen Park.

I enjoy shopping at Meijer because they keep the store neat. Today however I walked in and went to grab a buggy and a worker stopped me. She said that she was just about to clean the one I wanted. She sprayed the handle and said there. Id rather have the dry dirty dry one and wash my hands later then a dirty slippery buggy, yuck.

I live closer to two other Meijer stores but always shop at the Southgate location. It is always clean, neat, and stocked. Its enjoyable shopping here.

It’s okay they usually have everything I need but the staff is never any help,I no joke like going all the way to the Taylor one because the staff there is amazing.

First, let me say I love Meijer...I shop there every week but on occasion, Ive been disappointed and this past Sunday was one of those times.I went to the bakery looking for these cupcakes that I like and I couldnt find them...I asked the lady did they have some in the back and she told me no...now, what irritates me is the fact that she didnt even go and look, something that they are trained to do and how do I know this?!! Every single time I have asked for something not on the shelves, they will always go to the back to try to find it...every single time except this one.... really disappointed in the lack of interest in my concern...not good Meijer!!!

We go out of our way to visit the Southgate Meijer. The Lincoln Park location is much more convenient, but we like the store. Today, we get to check-out, and the cashier has no scanner. Why not? Then, she overloaded a lot of the bags without double-bagging. I want my jar of sauce replaced at no cost to me.

Meijer is always good. New remodel at Canton store taking little getting used to. But Im sure we will be fine.

This is a large, newer Meijers. Lots of space. Same wonderful variety from fresh fruits and vegetables to TVs and socks. They have a Huntington Bank inside for convenience. I’ve had great service here too.

Love shopping here. They are way better than Walmart. Prices might be a little higher, but they have classier customers. I always buy new clothes here. You cant buy live fish at Walmart.

Went here looking for an aux cable and was able to find just what I was looking for without any problems. This is a Walmart/Target style big box one stop shop. They were also selling groceries here but I didnt look at their selection. I was able to find what I was looking for and checkout without any issues.

This is my favorite Meijer downriver. Always clean, staff is always friendly and the produce us fresh and competitively priced. Great selection of groceries, home goods and clothes. Will drive out of my way to come to this Meijer.

Walked out after hearing 45 minutes to get through checkout! Lines across the store. Went thru Kroger with no delay!

Both Meijer locations in Woodhaven and Southgate is not the place to go if youre looking to buy fresh produce. Dont get me wrong, their prices are fair and they have a wide selection but their produce isnt always fresh. The majority of time that I go to buy produce the vegetables are in pretty rough shape. I literally have to sort though all of the vegetables one by one to find the fresh ones if any. I only continue to go there because they are the only place that I have found that sells the certain vegetables that my two flemish rabbits loves to eat. But 90% of the time even after I sorted through their produce and picked out the vegetables that looked in the best shape, once I get home I go through them again and have to throw out the top layers of the vegetables because of the poor shape that they are in. Meijer should not be charging full price for poor quality.Also, try avoid going to both locations at night, they normally only have two cashiers and you can only go through the self line to pay if you are only paying with a card. At night, they change the self lines payment method to paying by card only!!!

Always great service and cashiers even if there isnt as many cashiers working registers only a few usually open which does cause longer lines but always friendly

The Southgate Meijer store excluding the pharmacy is the best Meijer store in the area in my opinion. The store is clean, staff helpful enough, and they normally have enough stock and sale items available. The bottle return area is a another story it is usually dirty with many machines out of service. The amount of cashiers or self checkout is hit or miss. Self checkout is usually way under staffed.

Went for my covid-19 vaccine, everything went smooth. I was out 20 minutes after my appointment. Everyone was great.

Absolutely horrible customer service from the manager with red hair at the Southgate location. Everytime I have used my WIC their, there is always an issue or I end up paying money I dont need to pay. Well today I went to use the last of my WIC before it expires and reloads tomorrow and the lady charged my WIC for the full amount of jars I get which is 64 but I only had 48. So I went back to explain to the lady and show her the receipts that she charged my WIC card for 63 jars but I only have 48. I took everything back into the store with me to show her. I didnt even go home I counted it all in my car in the parking lot because something seemed off. The manager told me that I am wrong and trying to steal baby food from them and that I used my WIC at another store another time and thats why it says that. I even showed her the receipt that showed how many jars I had before the purchase and it said 64. I had my 2 step children with me and my 10 month old baby and this lady was getting loud with me and being extremely rude. I ended up leaving the store crying because she was so rude and loud with me and my kids wanted to yell at her to stop being so rude to me but I told them not to. This lady has to be right before the customer and im sorry that is wrong. When you work in the customer service industry, the customer is always right even if they are not. I worked in the service industry for 18 years so I know how it works and that is not how you treat a customer. And when I told her we will not be coming back here for WIC purchases anymore, she said great dont come back have a great day. I wish I would have gotten her name to report her to corporate for how rude she was being to me and raising her voice to me telling me I am wrong and I was trying to steal baby food when I clearly had proof that I was not and they actually shorted me baby food and she did not want to hear it and blew up at me. So anyone who is on WIC, I recommend highly that you go elsewhere to do your WIC purchases and I would definitely double check always because this is the 6th time I have had this issue.

This is a good size Meijer. They have a large selection of produce and decent sized bakery. But I mostly would say this is a good Meijer because of the staff. The greeters always say hello and goodbye. The cashiers have always been super nice as well as the stock, bakery and deli staff. Right now some things are low but its a pandemic so its not bad considering that.

Had been filling a costly prescription via Meijer. I was never informed this was an out of network pharmacy as I had been receiving this prescription with no issue. Well, lo and behold. Its over $500. needless to say this is a must needed med and I had do go through the hassle of contacting my insurance to find an in network pharmacy, contact my Dr to send the script to the new pharmacy then verify all the specific insurance info

This Meijers in Southgate as you enter they have this poor looking signs on their electric carts and the employees do not let you take them unless they are fully charged the women greeters are not friendly if its on orange you can do a quick trip the quick checkouts are only for 12 items the cashiers will not help with your bags if you are handicapped they just stare at you like your taking up there time Woodhaven is 20 items the cashiers and greeters are great and Lincoln Park has self checkouts that are unlimited along with a quick 12 item checkouts and the employees are friendly all the Meijers are needed and clean but inventory is low in all of them for items most people need

Went to service desk the lady was kinda rued. Was told no one was there for numbers and to come back when there lunch was over.......

This is my #1 store for my general needs. Great prices combined with outstanding sales makes this a no brainer.

I went to Meijer yesterday for my first Covid shot. The Meijer employees and the medical personnel could not have beenbetter. They were excellent!

I got my second Covid vaccine here today! And, then, of course, I had to buy a few things. I like this Meijer - clean and organized and staff is helpful!

This afternoon I decided to go shopping at Meijers in Southgate and I went thru the self checkout lane. As I was bagging up all my things one of my purchases accidentally ran up THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR!! As I was walking out the building I got chased down by an employee telling me that I have to get back to the self checkout and I told the lady that I already paid for all of my purchases. Then the red headed lady at self checkout accused me of stealing when I already paid for my purchases and that the product accidentally scanned at self checkout. Then the red headed lady accused me of stealing saying that my credit card was declined, which it didnt, when Ive never stolen anything in my life. It was extremely embarrassing and upsetting to me to be accused of stealing, which Ive never done. Then the only thing the cashier said was Oh after I showed her the receipt that I paid for the product. The cashier should of apologized to me because she was in the wrong. Im more than likely going to go shopping somewhere else from now on. If I could less than 1 star I would!!

One of the best Meijer stores in the Downriver area. If you know Meijer, this one is the best. If youre not from Michigan, Meijer in general is the best store. Its probably the only store that at midnight I could get food, underwear, a bike, a goldfish, and Legos. It would be a weird purchase, but you could do it.

Workers are unhelpful and rude prefer the one in Taylor

I was going to Southgate Meijer, instead of the Kroger across the street, to support Meijer since its a Michigan business, they carry a product that I like that Kroger does not carry, and they typically have better variety and prices compared to Kroger. Going forward, however, I plan on doing all my shopping at Kroger because the Southgate Meijer isnt re-stocking items and the customer service poor. The last time I was at Meijer, they were out of almost every spice they carry. They havent had chili seasoning or habenero peppers for a couple of months. During another recent visit I witnessed a cashier arguing with a customer b/c the U scanner wasnt working properly and the cashier was blaming the customer. In addition, no-one maintains the bottle department. About a month ago there were several customers in the bottle department and only one of the machines were working. No-one from Meijer came to fix/maintain the other machines they entire 15-20 minutes I was there.
