I have been coming to this resort for several years and it keeps getting better. The sites are large and the trees are getting mature enough that they will offer some shade. When they are mature it will be fantastic. The bathhouses are scattered throughout the resort. Each bathhouse contains several large rooms that have a shower, toilet, sink and mirror, and are cleaned daily. The staff is very polite and always very accommodating. Both of our debt cards were compromised while visiting towns in the area. The new cards didn’t arrive when the bank said they would. A employee, April, was very understanding and helped to make sure our new bank cards got to us after we left the resort. The General Manager Tyler was also very helpful. A great place to stay while in the Black Hills area.

I really wish I could’ve loved my stay.First of all, on the positive side, the park is very nice, very high end amenities, level concrete pads. Nice fenced in dog area. Pool & grounds are nice. Value for the money exceeds other campgrounds in the area.Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy myself. I seemed to be put in the middle of a cluster of spots belonging to a family reunion of sorts & I felt “in the way” of this group. They constantly walked through my site. The group had dogs and they were never on a leash. I saw an unleashed dog poop on another site and since their owners weren’t watching them, no one picked up after it.I have dogs, and had to constantly check to make sure the unleashed dogs weren’t around when I took them out. (My dog was attacked by an unleashed dog at a different campground a few weeks ago).Bummer

I have to say the staff at Elkhorn is outstanding! I came in tired & week from driving in heavy winds. When I checked in, I asked for help to remove the sway bars & hitch off the truck & trailer. Well the young man they sent stayed with me, made sure I was level & totally connected me to everything & took the hitches off my truck! They have always been very helpful & friendly! Love Elkhorn & will be back !

Pretty nice campground for RV camping. The have full hookups, a nice store, and plenty of activities. It is definitely glamping, which isnt so much our style, but Id you want all the luxuries of being at home it would be a good place to camp. In 20 years the campground will be much nicer due to the trees being pretty young right now.

We were visiting the badlands and decided to stay at Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort for four days. This is a very nice campground with very large spaces and easy access. They have both pull throughs and back ins. The park is nicely maintained and beautifully landscaped for the area. They have a pool, events center, basketball courts, large dog runs and space to walk. The surrounding area is easy on the eyes and fairly quiet also.We will stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The park and amenities were very clean! The paved sites were spacious and level and made set up and break down very easy. There were multiple sewage drains at each site which is very convenient for RVs of varying sizes. The only downside - the planted trees are young and dont provide much shade on a 95 degree day. Enjoy your stay!

Highly recommended! We stayed at Elkhorn Ridge Resort during the Sturgis Rally 2021 and it was the perfect place to stay. The resort was clean, our space was spacious, and we enjoyed a wonderful view from our RV back patio. Everyone was friendly and the resort was quiet, which was a welcome break from the activities in Sturgis. The Staff was knowledgeable about the area, they were friendly and always professional. From the moment we reserved our space, they were very good about communicating with us regarding our reservation. We definitely look forward to returning to this Resort in the future - hopefully very soon!

Have been staying here since it first opened. It’s a great facility. We don’t tow and this year we couldn’t rent a car (none to be had!) but we still had a nice relaxing time. We enjoy the view, so different from the cornfields of home. So much has changed over the years…WiFi is dramatically improved, trees are providing shade, and you can get pizza delivered from Spearfish to your site! My only wish is for them to install a webcam so I can visit virtually when we are stuck at home.

Will begin with - we have been full time for 4 1/2 years and the experience we had at Elkhorn Ridge Resort was absolutely the worst! We arrived as we are meeting a group from Florida to ride motorcycles in the Black Hills. Upon arrival, got set up. Then suddenly we began losing power. I checked the power at pedalestal and discovered that my Progressive EMS was giving a reading of low voltage . I called the office and was told to only run 2 A/C units. Now, this does not solve the issue of power. Had several conversations with the front desk. Bottom line was told they could not do anything. Not wanting to be with no power we decided to depart and go to another campground. Thus being away from our group. Spoke with Assistant Manager and go Im sorry. Could not do anything Was told she would block site. Had to go to office to pick up an Amazon package and discovered that they put a smaller RV in the site we had - site 52. They had no desire to do anything for us. Will highly recommend staying away as we were told they have electrical issues in the campground by the front office.

This is an up-scale RV park. Many of the RVs we saw here looked like a tour bus and probably cost more than our house. Many RV visitors brought their UTVs or motorcycles. There is plenty of room to park trailers. We stayed in the cabins. The cabins are cute and arranged in an adorable cabin village. The cabins have plenty of sleeping area for families. Our kids loved the loft and bunk beds. Air conditioning worked well and the windows provided a nice breeze in the evening. The VIP cabins have a porch swing which is a nice bonus. The kitchen is limited but good enough for preparing simple meals. Our only complaint about the cabin is that the master bedroom bed was not comfortable; surprisingly the mattress in the loft was worlds better. The pool is clean and large. Playground, tennis court and basketball court were all in good condition. We would stay here again.

We loved this campground! The entire place is well appointed and lots of room between rigs. The doggie park is very spacious and clean and the walking path is beautiful and well maintained. It is close to lots of great activities and really close to the local Walmart for groceries. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the 2 hot tubs are basically kiddie pools. They were also non functional at our visit. We witnessed 8 small (under 8 y/o) kids in one hot tub for over an hour and no parental supervision. The adults were under the covered area enjoying time away from the kids. One of the children was in a diaper and definitely under 2 y/o.My hope is the tubs get fixed and a rule is implemented that they are “Adults Only”. Most parks/resorts do not allow kids under 15 in hot tubs. There is a shallow kiddie pool so this could alleviate any issues.Other than that, great place! We’ll be back!

It is only open between Memorial Day and Labor Day.Now the negative. Their wifi is terrible. Their basic wifi is weak and unusable. Their upgraded wifi doesnt allow for coach routers or smart tvs to connect to it. The upgraded wifi only offers about 5 or 6 mb/s bandwidth. The staff was nice enough to refund me my 12 bucks. It is not an enterprise grade wifi network.According to the broadband provider, Vast, the park has a fiber optic cable to it and they could offer much higher throughputs. My recommendation would be to greatly improve your wifi, treat it as a 4th utility and raise the prices on the lots to cover the cost.

Everyone has their own priority list for an RV park. To us the most critical part of a Full hookup RV site is the electrical connection. A bad connection can compromise your RV electrical components, that’s one of the reasons we always use an EMS unit on our electrical connection. When we discussed the issue that we kept losing power we were told that Elkhorn Ridge RV did not have a maintenance staff member at the park on weekends, but they had someone on-call. We were treated like we were complaining about the water pressure instead of a critical electrical issue. When we did talk with the on-call maintenance staff member, we were informed that their electrical system cannot handle the number of RV sites-too much draw. If a safe electrical connection is a priority for you, then keep looking. There are way too many RV parks in the area to risk staying at this one.

Stayed at the deluxe cabins for the 2nd time. Once 15 years ago and again in June 2021. Resort is very nice and well kept. One of the nicest in the region. Nice pool and Lodge. Love the statues that feature Wildlife. Here’s a few improvements that should be made or considered.1. Hot tubs by the pool should be called warm tubs. They were not even close to hot and the air jets barely function. They need to be replaced and improved.2. Cabin comfort is lacking. For $220+ per night I’d expect better. All seating (sofa, dining chairs, outside bench) were as hard as sitting on a rock so you have no desire to spend time there after a long day of outdoor activity. The Queen bed was tolerable but certainly not comfortable.3. Upon check in there were some issues with cleanliness. Sofa was covered with dog hair and food crumbs. Silverware in kitchen was put away dirty. Floors still had small debris in places. Called the lodge and someone came out quickly to vacuum the sofa. I went ahead snd washed any dishes before using them.4. Not by fault of the resort but I recommend choosing a cabin away from where you park to access them. This is a congregating place for other guests to talk REALLY loud and in early mornings. So if you plan on sleeping past 7am, choose a cabin away from the parking area. We were in cabin 46 (first on the left) and this was definitely an issue.

Very unfriendly to most folks who have or do live around here! In my honest opinion, they are only interested in making $$ from those who are traveling. Otherwise they simply dont care. Personally, i wish they had never built the place or opened their doors and i myself would probably never do business with this place, simply because of how they treat those who live here! Dont know what they actually charge folks for staying there but you probably get what you pay for and might be just fine for those who are simply passing through the area! There are other places around the Black Hills, who offer the same camping and RV accommodations who are better deserving for your business! But those places fill up quickly and stay busy throughout the season

This campground may be worthy of the price in season. However after Labor day when temps drop, the pool is closed you may want to ponder what ia most important to you and your reason for the stay. Location, views and concrete/paved paths are a plus. There are nice ball courts, a dog park and playground in good temps. For us, we just didnt see how this park has resort amenities in the off season to set it apart from another campground other than location to Deadwood and Speargish Canyon. The community firepits are near the main entrance a significant walk from any camper and appear to not be in use during COVID. Even so you would have to haul your own chair. Customer service is meager. The welcome mat is not rolled out for the guest traveler. Its almost like the front desk staff assume you are from the area or have been to the resort before.Seems this resort would want to greet their guest in a more hospitable promoting way. Restroom facilities are not what one might expect for a campground with resort in its name both in appearance and lacking adequate sanitation. Wifi is good but premium speed requires additional cost. The Miller Creek Pub and Golf Course are convenient and my guess why guests may return. Disappointed for the 75+ fee per night.

Beautiful Campground with ample grass between sites and gorgeous views. RV site are on concrete pads thin enough to ensure all your jacks are on concrete, but skinny enough to maximize the grass yard around the RV. Pull throughs are easy in and out. LOVED Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort. The pull through lots are over sized. We saw 40 foot coaches, pulling trailers and cars and they all easily fit in the larger pull through lots. The lots are spaciously set apart from one another so you feel like its a community, but youre still able to keep to yourself if you want. The grounds are immaculate. Horseshoe pit, basketball and tennis courts, pool, outdoor hot tub, event center, a cute walking trail at the rear of the property overlooking the mountains, the lounge and small bar area inside, plus the store, its perfectly appointed. The free WiFi is just OK, good for checking email and pulling up directions. We opted for the $3.99 upgrade so we could stream through our Firestick. The laundry facility takes only quarters, so be prepared, but the front desk has prepackaged $10 quarters you can buy.The shower rooms are very nice. clean, well kept, well located throughout the ranch, easy to get to. Security was clearly thought of when considering the shower rooms. You walk into the main shower house (which also has a few washers and dryers, smartly located) and then there are individual rooms, kept separated by deadbolt. Each room has its own bench, toilet, sink, counter and shower space. Water pressure was great, though the water temperature wasnt hot for long enough. Thats my only complaint. About 5 minutes of hot water, then a cycle of 2-3 minutes of cold water, and then the hot water would return. A small inconvenience for such a wonderful place.Staff was nice, pleasant and helpful. The dog park is a HUGE home run. There are two. Small and Large (by pup size). But each is MASSIVE in size. Id guess the large park, where our Golden played, is easily 30 yards x 30 yards. Its the biggest dog park we found through all of our 3,600 mile travels. If you have pups, they will be grateful you stopped here!Really impressed with this place. You could tell its a new place, with smaller trees coming into maturity. But the owners clearly prioritized feel and comfort over cramming in more spaces. You feel safe, comfortable, and yet not on top of one another.Close to Spearfish Canyon too which was a nice day of hiking.HIGHLY recommend this place. Would stay again without hesitation. Shut down the horseshoe pits at the same time as well. Had some very inconsiderate guests playing basketball until 10:45 pm. When you are planning a 6 am departure for a 12 hour travel day, the first thing you want to do is get a good nights rest. One minor thing, fix the WiFi antennas. Oh boy. If I could give negative stars I would. If youre just passing through for a night, I would suggest to stop a couple exits from here and stay at a hotel. This was an absolute disaster.Mind you, I have a business degree in Hospitality. So, Im not trying to be a Karen here.Upon check in everything was normal. Since it was sort of away from the larger towns it wasnt odd to me that there was no credit card machine. Generally I would have expected to give my card and ID to the staff so they can check the physical card with the one I reserved it with over the phone. Didnt ask to see it, just asked if I wanted to keep it on the card I reserved it with. Yes, thats the one..... We needed 2 keys, got 2 keys. Got to the cabin..... one key was not to our cabin. Alright, whatever we just wanted to get something to eat and take our dogs to the dog park.Great amenities, and the grounds were extremely well kept. We loved that there was a dog park and used it multiple times. The cabin was also very cute, and clean. The only issue we had there was none of the outlets worked in the room with the queen bed.Upon check out credit card on file was charged, I got my receipt and we were on the road again. I get a call from the hotel the next day while I was driving through Montana telling me that I used someone elses credit card for the room. I laughed a little and said.... uhhhh, Nope, the card I used has my name on it..... Gave the proper number again and told to have a manager or someone call to discuss further. Received no call the rest of the day from any managers, so I called the next morning. They informed me that a gentlemans card had been charged for our stay, and he believes its fraud. I laughed a bit because it hit me that I never put my credit card into a card machine, and none of the staff physically checked my credit card against the computer. The only thing they went off of was the number a woman had taken over the phone when I reserved the cabin. Since we were moving for work, I needed a receipt for that nights stay. I used a different card and paid for the stay.Fast forward an entire week from check in and I get a call from the spearfish PD asking me about said situation. Poor guy said he had to make sure it wasnt identity fraud. Totally understand. I explained to him the situation, and let him know we were moving from one coast to the next. Seems odd that I would use some guys card for the one night which happened to be the cheapest stay during the 7 days it took us. We also used the same card (MY card), which was properly charged for food at the resort. He also agreed that it seemed to be just a misheard number over the phone. To me, its sad that the resort doesnt train their front desk staff to check, and re-check cards, and IDs before charging them. It seems their first instinct is to assume the customer is either an idiot or trying to fraud an individual......... Keys to each cabin should also be checked before giving them to guests....... **Insert shrug emoji here**

The absolute best RV park/resort in the Spearfish/Deadwood/Sturgis area. Wonderful scenic views and extra clean and well managed facilities. Numerous shower/laundry rooms and a welcome center that does exactly what it is supposed to do. Management takes an active role in resolving any issues and is responsive to their patrons. Highly recommended.

One of our favorite RV parks on our way to Black Hills. We like to stop here on our way to the Black Hills and on our way back. The service is great. The staff are awesome and will do what ever they can to make your stay enjoyable. The campsites are large enough for big motorhome plus a tow. The rates are reasonable for what you get. Off season rates are fantastic. The park is quiet and very clean. There are a lot of things for children and young adults to do. They have a nice dog park.

Beautiful camping resort. While it is not your typical camping place, it has a lot to offer. The pool (and kiddie pool) is beautiful. There was a nice dog park. Plenty of activities- basketball and tennis courts, plus a nice playground. The cabins were nice too.
