My house burned down in January. And for the second time, I needed a full scale renovation... Menards is the only place I used the last time- and I was sooo pleased with the outcome.They coordinated all my online purchases and in store purchases, with relative ease. So naturally I went back to them! I was in the store for approximately 6 hours. The sales people and I, picked out finishes for every surface, and for every room. Their staff could not be better!!! They will deliver, and they will install!I had a problem with one of the appliances that was shipped to my home, but I called the store and they came right over to my house! They made it right for me... That I will never forget, and they will always have my business!

We live Menards, but today we had a hard time finding help (which I get is kind of a universal thing right now). When we did, everyone was friendly. Thanks!

The store is always very well organized and clean. I love the variety of products. Only thing I wish is that they would cut wood for you at the store.

If I could rate this store a ZERO, I would!! Spent over $1200 on a shed to be delivered to our home last week Tuesday. Paid help to set it up was waiting. Opened the boxes, and parts were all bent and dented. Called the store and they would deliver another the next day. Had paid help ready to go. Delivery was 4 hours late, driver was rude both times. Spent what was left of Wednesday night and again Thursday evening putting it together. Until we realized they shorted us a $.50 piece of plastic for the door tracking. Called the store, they promised they had the part we needed. Drove 1 hour each way to pick up this tiny plastic piece. We got there and NOBODY knew anything about it. Had to go out in the shipping yard and find it ourselves. Went home, finished up until we saw that we were short a tiny $1.00 piece of metal. Call the store, got put on hold by customer service, who eventually hung up on my wife. Finally got thru and they said they had the piece and would have it up front at customer service for her. She drove 1 hour each way AGAIN and customer service knew nothing about it. By now, my wife is LIVID and yelling pretty loudly. She had to walk all the way back to the far corner of the store to get this piece. Couldnt even have someone bring it up to her!!! After much yelling (and Im sure cussing), they gave us the piece and $80 to cover gas. What should have been done in 6 hours took us 4 days plus labor of our hired help, due to the negligence and ineptness of this store! We will NEVER shop here again and wouldnt recommend it to anyone!

I walked in carrying my 5 week old baby in his carseat and was intercepted by a rude staffer who told me I had to walk all the way around to the north entrance. I asked her why I couldn’t come in the south side when the doors were unlocked and there were signs facing outward and she continued to berate me in front of the whole store. While in the checkout line with the three small items I had come to buy from the south side of the store, I watched three more people who were carrying nothing walk in the south entrance doors and were not stopped by anyone. Emailed customer service and got no response. Not sure why the staff chose to single out a new mom carrying a crying baby, but won’t be going back anytime soon.

Customer service is highly lacking at this menards. I have had multiple encounters where the employees are just plain rude. Lacking basic kindness. Sad, because most Menards do not have this issue. I will take my money elsewhere.

The city mask mandate was lifted so wasnt carrying a mask with me. Walked into Menards and continued getting yelled at by an employee for not having a mask on. As I kept walking there was another customer talking to a Menards employee with his mask around his neck. So heres a tip for everyone not wanting to wear a mask. Walk in with one on and then wear it around your neck. I mean you are still wearing a mask. There is a way to treat people and ask people to follow your rules and yelling at them is not the way. Kindness goes a long way.

Spent two hours longer here because cant find anything. Nobody to ask and isles not marked very good. Then stood in line 30 minutes because there was only 3 check outs open!!!

Why still do we have to wear masks? Everywhere else has eased up on mandatory mask.

I tried to purchase an item with a sku number that a lady on the phone said to just come in and pay for. They wouldnt sell it to me without a mask on, even when I presented a medical exemption letter.I went to customer service and they said I could purchase online and pick up outside. So I had to stand there and complete the purchase while she helped me.I literally spent more time in the store and close to people because of that then if they had just entered the sku, charged me, and I had been on my way.Iowa doesnt have a mask mandate. Very few people still wear masks in the town of Spencer. Yet Menards wont even let me purchase an item without one on. As if its an invisible force field.I will never shop at Menards again. I just closed my credit card with them today. I will not support a company like this.

Employees are rude! I was wearing a mask and it wasnt good enough for them so they wouldnt check me out until I paid for one of their masks. I could pay for that but none of my stuff?!?!?! Now that makes a lot of sense! I will never be back! The Home Depot is way better anyways!!

We were in the midst of spring garden planting and found that 3 fruit trees that we purchased on May 2nd of 2020 didnt make it through the winter. We had a couple that did and wanted to replace the dead ones. We had receipt and original tags from trees however when we went to exchange for new ones...the customer service lady was anything but plrasant. She abruptly told my husband that he was 2 WEEKS post the deadline to return them. He shared his disappointment as we just found out today that they were dead....it has been a bit of a chilly spring...and they would not make any exception to the rule. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. In parting the lady told my husband sorry you didnt get your way sir Really? Its not about getting his way its about people and customer service. Very disappointing!

It’s against the law to make someone wear a mask. Your the only store that makes anyone wear them will not return to store very rude service.

Other than being out of a couple standard things I went in for today, I have to say the Spencer Menards is pretty good compared to some others Ive been to. While others have only 1 or 2 checkers with a bunch of people waiting to check out, Spencer is pretty good about opening more lines when needed. It also ranks above some other locations in my opinion because its employees that arent very knowledgeable at least do try and are friendly.

Wife waited around for 2+ hours trying to get the correct countertops after they gave us the wrong ones the first time. Asked for help again said they couldnt help at the time everyone was on break. Then when she finally got help they came out with once again the wrong countertop the help in the store is actually pathetic everyone runs away when they see someone needing something. I think the lack of oxygen to the brain from wearing masks all day long may be causing some to lose IQ points...

I was ignored by counter staff for over a minute as 3 of them chatted. Was told 4x4 lumber only available in 8 ft lengths. Wanted 6 ft. 6ft was stacked in the yard next to 8 ft. No one available to help load order. Asked staff for help finding decking / joist brackets. No clue... didnt find help offer help.This store sucks worse than the worst Home Depot...

If this wasnt the only place around, id never go there again. Wait 10 minutes to listen to the menu, no-one answers the phone. Can never find help while in the store yet there are always a few employees standing behind the counter chatting about something. Only place around requiring you to wear a mask yet most people i saw didnt have there nose covered. I just moved here and I really miss lowes and homedepot.

Awful to non-existent customer service. Ordered, then cancelled wood burning stove, and was charged a 25%re-stocking fee even though it wasnt instock to begin with, nor did it ever leave a warehouse.🤣 Not the only one this has happened to, its a scam they pull often.

Put a online order in night before for pickup as they had item in-stock. Called next day before I was to head out as I live 3hrs away once I called lady told. Me we were going to call you and let you know the item is display model and it will take us day or two to disassemble and package. I called 10am they were open since 8am. 2 hrs and they couldnt call to inform me also display item sold at full retail? While online states new canceled $1300.00 went elsewhere.

After seeing them yell at a elderly lady because she pulled down her mask and was catching her breath im not impressed. They also escorted a man out the door for no mask. What a joke leave people alone.

Menards in Spencer almost always represents a good shopping experience. Inventory is quite extensive, prices are competitive, and employees - even in todays climate - are courteous and helpful.

Last two times my girls and I went in to pick up a order had to find someone first there always 3 people waiting for help we were first both times standing at desk everyone else was 6 feet back she went to the men ask which one first both times I had to make it clear I was first thats discriminate against women this pisses me off

No one wanted to help at all. Ended putting back 90% of my cart for i could get it elsewhere. Very rude employees. Saying well its over there and im sorry Im in paint. So call for someone to help me not just push me away.

Mask mandate is terrible, walked in and was told to leave since I was not wearing a mask. I asked if they provided masks and was told yes at the front. When I get up front Im told I have to purchase a mask. So I have to spend money to spend money at menards. Absolutely terrible Customer service, will not spend a dime here.

If I could rate 0 I definitely would. My husband and I traveled over an hour to buy carpet because of a sale we were told about but they had it all miss advertised. We called and talked to a manager named Kelly. She was supposed to return our call but never did. My husband then called back and all she had to say was okay. I will never step foot in another Menards.

Water heater parts

Terrible. Mask mandate is not acceptable. I wont be going back. I will use the little local retailers and pay more.

Ordered a rubber roof and poles for our lake trailer, poles were on backorder but the roof came in. Was told if we wanted to pick the poles and roof up at the same time, theyd charge storage. We drove the 70 miles to pick the roof up. Upon arrival at the store, was told it was damaged in shipment. Reordered the roof, drove 70 miles home. They gave us $10 for gas. Drove the 70 miles once the second roof arrived. Took it to the trailer, unrolled it to find this roof too was damaged in shipment, looks like it was gouged. Will not be doing business here again.

Couldnt find 85% of what I was looking for - plumbing, electrical, light bulbs, and garden hose adapters & parts. Had to ask for help on almost everything. Of what I asked for help finding, they only had maybe a third of the items or couldnt find them either. I ended up stopping by hardware hank in emmetsburg where they had Most of what I needed and knew where the items were located right off hand. Shop local.

Husband in shopping I stayed in car just needed to use the restroom located by exit door and cashiers I entered the exit doors and was stopped and told to use main door and yes was waring a mask

Finding specific items is difficult. Needed to ask for help. Their quality is not quite as good some local stores, but careful attention helps.

3rd time weve had to load our own dirt, sand and pavers. All the while half a dozen young people clown around inside.
