When I decided to get a pair of custom work boots, I knew it would be an investment and I wanted to do my homework. I researched every custom boot company I could find in the PNW and JK kept catching my eye. I followed them on Instagram for a while, along with a few others and JK seemed to still convince me their boots were better. I visited their shop, got fitted, had a few unique requests and they said no problem. Just over 3 weeks later my boots were ready(I paid for expedited build time). They fit nearly perfect from the first try and 3 days into wearing them, they’re almost broke in already. Something I love is an old trusty pair of boots that I can put on and forget they’re there. I have no doubt these will be those boots for many years to come. I follow JK on Instagram. When I flew into Spokane for a vacation I stopped by their store. The quality and the service didn’t disappoint. I walked out with an in-stock pair and ordered a custom pair along with a belt. Pretty much no break in period!

I ordered my boots about eight months ago. The ordering process was quick and easy and the boots showed up faster than the lead time said they would. Absolute breeze getting through the whole process and they fit perfect. The boots themselves are very high-quality and I absolutely love them!

Was shopping for a new pair of wildland boots and came across JK. Know a few guys on the line who swear by them, so I decided to give them a shot. Ordered a pair of custom lace to toe, full roughout 14” boots. Used the custom fit sheets on the website and follows directions exactly. Paid for my boots, emailed the fit sheets and started the wait. The next day, I received a phone call from Layne, and we discussed my boot needs, fit requirements, and what I liked/disliked with my current boots. Layne was awesome to talk to and you can tell they take this process very seriously. After about 5 weeks, I returned from a strike team to find my boots had been delivered. Right out of the box I could tell the craftsmanship and attention to detail was second to none. Slipped them on and they just clicked right into place. Absolutely PERFECT fit and I could immediately tell all my requests on fit had been meticulously taken into account. They included a bottle of Obenauf’s boot oil (the best out there) with the boots to aid in the break in. Been wearing/oiling them as instructed for about 4 days now and each day they get more amazing. After 4 days they’re more comfortable than my “other” boots (also made in Spokane) that I’ve been in for years. I cannot stress enough….JK is the way to go if you care about what’s protecting your feet while on the line. Second to none. Great job JK, you made a customer for life.

This is the first time purchasing a custom made boot. The people at JK Boots are amazing and very helpful. I received my boots and they were everything that was promised. I put these on right out of the box, wore them for 2 days straight with no issues at all. I highly recommend these boots to anyone. The only draw back I have is the there is not any toe protection (composite, which is not recommended in wildland). I love these boots and should have made the purchase years ago.

Ive wanted a pair of custom logging boots for over a decade and was finally in the position to both need and afford some. I went down a deep rabbit hole looking for the best bootmakers in the world and all eyes go to Spokane and JK. Going through the fitting process was super easy and informative. My boots took several extra weeks to arrive and I have to tell you, save and be patient. Spend the money and let them take the time to do what they do. My boots are flawless in every way. After having them on for 15 minutes and letting them warm through it feels like Ive had them for years. I expected quality and fit for the money but had no idea the level that this family business can take the craft to. CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!!!!!

Just picked up my second pair of JK Boots. With both pairs the ordering process was easy and painless. They finished my boots 2 weeks ahead of schedule, and as with the last pair the break-in time was faster than expected. Will definitely continue to order boots from here.

After having cheap boots for years, I finally decided to pull the tripper on some proper boots this year. I looked at several brands and companies and ended up settling on JK. I cant be more satisfied, and happier that I did. I received my pair about a month and a half ago and wanted to get some wear on them before a review. The service was great. Actually went to get fitted IN store, I would suggest this if you’re able. The boot is FAR superior to the pair of Whites I own. Not saying I didn’t like the Whites, it’s just that these JK’s fit so much better. They needed NO breaking in, something that took months with my Whites. Jk listened to all the things I had problems with previously. They even, at no extra charge clicked/adjusted the heels to the outside a tad to keep them from being hated to roll my ankle in.I’ll never go anywhere else, customer for life

I’ve owned Whites my entire career since 2003 and been very very pleased. A guy at worked talked me into a pair of JK’s this year and I truly can’t put into words my experience so far. The customer service and speed at which they were built has been exceptional. The quality of workmanship and the quality of the leather is hands down the best I’ve seen. I have worked in the wildland industry my entire career from engines, helicopters and now to dozers and these boots are hands down the absolute best I have put in my feet. Week one I have put well over 10 miles on them with no blisters or tender spots anywhere on my feet. I honestly can’t say enough about these boots. I got fitted in store for some honey inlanders, and I cannot say enough great things about the entire experience. These boots have been one of the best investments I’ve ever made. You cannot put a price on handcrafted, hand fitted boots. I work in the refining industry and I have put a lot of miles on these boots. All those miles have been on concrete or grating. The boots are very comfortable and extremely durable. I’m guessing I will get close to 18 months before I need a resole. I cannot say enough great things about the staff at JK and the boots they made for me. Thank you guys!

In my life I have Owned some 40 or so boots and have always struggled with either fit or finish. I’ve owned doc martens all the way to custom built boots and with few exceptions I’ve never had a better experience than with JK boots. My personal boot choice is a logger style and my size is the hard part, a 15A split sized with a 15.5 A. Not an easy size but when I told Tim that he didn’t seem phased, he said send me a fit sheet and you’ll be set. I ordered an 8 inch, brown rough out boot with a virbam lug sole and wow, just wow. I have met many people in this community and had the privilege of working with some of the best boot makers in America and I truly believe JK falls among the best of the best. I highly recommend jk for your next pair and look forward to my pairs to come.

These people are absolutely amazing! I was given a two-week expectation for repair on a zipper because the seamstress was on vacation and I ended up getting my jacket back with the zipper fixed and under a week! This is the second time I have used jks seamstress services and I am beyond happy with the results both times! They do a great job and have completed the job sooner than expected both times I have taken items to them. They aim to please and do every time! This is a great small business to support! You will not be disappointed with their services!

If you are looking around for custom work boots and you want a fantastic experience, this team can make that happen.One reason I chose JK was other forums and reviews. But the final reason was I thought their website was most easily managed and liked the ordering system. Emailing my fit sheet and instructions was a cinch and stress free.Go in to the shop if you get a chance. I was able to drop in while driving through and got to see MY boots mid construction. Very cool. They even allowed my curious kids to come in and get a kind of tutorial! We talked and I had requests and was told “these are your boots, you can have them however you want”. Before my upper was completed, I received a call to inform me I have large calves (as if I didn’t know that 😬), and made sure we agreed on the right situation for my fit. Awesome!In addition to great communication and service, the boots I received came weeks before I expected (tho I wouldn’t always expect this).And for the boot itself. I probably have about 50 hours total in them and they are far from completely broken in. However I can already wear them for 8-10 hours in rough terrain (land surveyor) with no fatigue. They look fantastic. The honey vibram was right for me. Sheds mud well, good traction even on frozen ground, and more give on roadways.If you are interested in a custom boot. Call JK.

Im a Wildland firefighter and I have a pair of custom JKs that have been most excellent. In fact, they are so excellent that I just bought another pair of customs to throw into rotation. The customer service is ridiculously good. Tim is the man, so friendly, and so helpful. I have 2 pairs of fire boots from JK and I could not be more pleased with their performance. I filled out a fit sheet and as a result they fit perfectly. The break-in period is very short; once the last is worn in they are extremely comfortable. The materials, workmanship, and durability of my boots are all top-notch. I am on a hotshot wildland fire crew, and these boots really take a beating in rocky, hot, steep, dusty terrain, yet still manage to keep my feet operational. Customer service from JK is some of the best I’ve ever had from any company. Tim has helped me out on numerous occasions, and I know that whenever I call, I can get a satisfactory solution or answer to any problem or question concerning my boots. Tired of buying new boots every few years? This company is the full package, amazing, last you your whole life, quality (with rebuilds of course), and amazing customer service, in todays America its incredibly hard to find such a quality company. I originally ordered the pre-made boots, but due to the mail system being slow I ended up being in Spokane before my fit sheet, and had the pleasure of having my fit taken. They immediately noted that I had uncommonly shaped feet and recommended that I wait for them to custom build me a pair. I warned them that I started work in a little less than a month and they assured me it would be no problem. Boots came early as they promised and they went out of their way at every step to make sure they fit me well and were ready for me to begin work. Several weeks now into work and they are Incredible! Practically no break in time and a perfect fit! Cant stress enough how worth the price these are.

JK boots is second to none when it comes to quality and customer service. In my line of work, I tend to be real hard on boots, my boots from JK have stood up to the test. Not only was the fit perfect out of the box, but the process In building them was easy and completely custom. Measured my feet, paid the deposit and within minutes was talking to the boot maker about exactly what I wanted. Now it is time for my boots to be sent back to Washington and the lead time is unbelievably quick and my boots will be ready for another fire season. I purchased my first pair of JK boots in 2015. I work in agriculture, and I put those boots to the test. Fertilizer, chemical, dust, walking fields and having them covered in mud. They were comfortable from the start. No break-in period. I would rather wear these boots over any pair of shoes I own. I just took them in to be rebuilt. So I got a full 4 YEARS on a pair. Best boots on the planet!

I have extreme orthotic problems with my feet and ankles. After wearing my custom made orthotic boots from JK I am out of pain. I recently saw my podiatrist and she was amazed at how much better my feet are doingI love these guys!

I have had four different pairs of hand made boots and JK has by far made me the best pair I have ever had there was no break in time they fit perfectly from day one and they have lasted two years of underground mining getting wet muddy and greasy and they are now building me a new pair and I showed them my old boots and they going to make improvements so they will hold up better for me you cant ask for better people when you go to there shop they treat you like a friend and they will repair any kind of boots you have

The people here are easy to talk to and give great recommendations on new soles. Then, they do a fantastic job! I had them replace the sole on my leather chukkas with a great Vibram sole and they did the same on a pair of adidas tennis shoes. Both look factory and feel great! They do GREAT work there!!! I had them put a new set of heels on a pair of (inexpensive) cowboy work boots that were given to me. The heels are still in perfect condition!!! however the toe stitching is coming loose, and I think that Jk boots is where I will go have them stitched back totgether!!!

Brought my motorcycle tank bag to them to fix a zipper. Two other zippers had minor problems but I was okay with them. JK Boots went ahead and fixed all three zippers! Good as new. Thank you!

I brought my favorite boots in to get resoled and modified to eliminate worn/torn elastic pieces. The boots look better now than when I bought them brand new and Im back to getting complimented on my nice boots! Dropped my Timberlands off 5 minutes before close on a Wednesday with a frayed lace, tons of scuffs and permanent marker on the outside of one of the heels. I needed them back ASAP for an event and Will was able to fix the lace, remove the marker and shine them in time for me to pick them up the next day. Thank you 👏🏻

Absolutely awesome work for reasonable prices. Resoled my boots for $100 less than it would cost to buy a new pair (approximately half price), and the new sole is far better. Boot leather was cleaned and shined. Met both the owner and his son, who is also learning the trade. Would like to try their custom boots one day.These boots are better than the day I got them over 3 years ago.

Been wearing my boots constantly for about 3 months now, and they are amazing. Been wearing Nicks or Whites for a few decades, these are a far better boot all around. No stupid break-in where you cant walk right, and everything hurts. Tim called a few times to follow up and see how they fit, excellent service to go with excellent boots.

Just bought my first pair of custom made work boots from JK Boots in November of 2017. I work on my feet all day long in every weather condition possible, and after breaking these boot in, they are the most comfortable & sturdy boot I have ever worn. Just got a set of 12 inch honey wildland boots from JK and these boots are amazing. The arch and sizing is spot on. I wore a competitors boots and it tore my feet up very badly for the fire season I wore them. These JKs I can tell already fit amazing and they have had no break in. The quality of the boot and materials is very good. Wonderful boots and wonderful people. You can tell these guys real care about the products and the customers wearing them.

Most amazing boots, had mine for 3 years now and getting them re-soled for the 1st time. Summiting mountains or everyday work, these boots have performed great. Must do proper maintenance every so often if you want them to last.

I brought my boots here for a resole. they did a perfect job at that; but, heres where it becomes outstanding: on top of that, they gave me new insoles and laces, and they conditioned and polished the boots entirely. They looked nearly new when I got them back. Way more than I was expecting, and way more than I paid for. I wish I had known about them earlier; when it comes time for a new pair of boots, Im coming here. Thanks for the amazing work and service. The guys here know their boots, Ive had anything from slight alterations, re-sole, eyelet replacements, and full rebuilds, on a few sets of boots purchased at bigger boot outlets. Their prices and quality beat their competition out of the water. Would not recommend anyone else but them to work on my boots. Great family owned and locally owned Spokane business.
