I love this place! We had only just found out about this market a couple weeks ago after moving from Hawaii earlier this year. And a lot of the good food I missed in Hawaii, you can find available here like sushi grade Ahi, Dragon Fruit, Mochi Ice Cream and all the other snacks I love and all for really good deals too!
I really like this market. It’s conveniently located and has a great selection of items. They have really good ahi tuna for poke recipes for a decent price! Definitely will continue coming here for these items. Only issue is the customer service. Some of the guys there look unhappy as hell being there but then again, it’s work so I can understand their plight lol I’ve had a chance to talk to a nice lady over the phone when asking about the tuna so the unhappy customer service isn’t a deal breaker. Great place overall.
Great place to shop for asian ingredients, snacks and foods, 99% of the ingredients and food are fresh. They just dont restock snacks that dont sell. The prices are much cheaper compared to other big supply chains but have gone up a little since Covid.Dont listen to the other reviews, the customer service is fine theyre just being picky because its a small business and everyone is busy doing their own thing.
Full of delicious asian produce that changes with the seasons. Friendly and helpful staff, they have helped me a number of times experiment and find new foods to try. If I am unsure of an item and ask about it, they have told me what it taste like and even roughly how to prepare it. Theres always something new to try. And they have very reasonable prices. It if my favorite place to shop for groceries.
Bought rambutan which was ripe, sweet, just right. Plus vegetables and greens delicious and healthy. Varied offerings with plenty of rice, noodles and veggies.
Issue 1. Not a customer-oriented business, they are refusing clients to enter their shop during opening hours because it is so too close to closing hour. Employees enjoy exercising their superpower to refuse customers and dont care if the shop will sell more products or not. If they are closing at 8 pm, dont try to enter after 7:45 pm to pick a few products quickly.Issue 2. Often the products are missing. We finished ordering most of the items that are not refrigerated on Amazon.Hopefully, a competitor with a better service-oriented spirit will open soon in the area.
This is one of my favorite Asian Markets to go to. I usually go here or the Hong Kong Market. I love the Korean food selection and I love the fresh Kimchi you can buy here (it is better than the one at Hong Kong Market my opinion). Since it is a small store, the produce is always good quality. Only once did I come home and my green beans were moldy a couple of days later. However, most of the time the produce is amazing.I also love that they sell stickers, because its hard to get cute stationary things unless you go down to Chinatown, so I appreciate the small selection they sometimes have.In the back is the option to buy some hot Korea food, such as japchae and other classic Korean dishes. However, it is only on certain days at certain times, so make sure to check that. Also, when they run out they run out. The food is prepared somewhere else and they sell it in the back. So if you want a certain dish, it is better to go earlier than later to have a better chance at buying what you want. The only setback that can be frustrating, is that the products are not always consistently there. This is the only place I know that would sell the big good quality Filipino siopao and that hasnt been in stock for a while, which is sad.
Great selection. High quality produce
Ok place for Oriental groceries. I went there for young coconut. They have a few good Asian things like Jack fruit, noodles and vegetables. On the pricier side since this is the only decent Asian market in this side of town!
Small, but nice variety. Convenient location for those of us north of Houston.
This was my first visit, and Im just getting into Asian cooking. Review is based on those two factors. The store is small, but that was helpful to not overwhelm me. There is produce, frozen meats, fresh meats, frozen ready made, frozen wraps, variety of dried noodles, Rices, sauces & seasonings, beverages and snack foods. Items were present from many geographic areas. There was plenty to choose from, but the small store size made it easy to get in and out quickly. I dont know how prices compare to similar stores, but nothing seemed overpriced to me. I will shop here again.
Very organized and clean had everything I needed.
Good products, very good supply. Terrible cashier
I saw a review complaining that masks were required. As I have severe lung issues this was a positive thing for me. I decided to go check it out and was very pleased with the selection. It is a rather small store, however it had more Japanese items then the Hong-Kong market which is where I traditionally go. I was very pleased to find my favorite chili oil! Parking was easy and the store associates were efficient. I will definitely visit again!
The owner and family are really nice. It is always my pleasure to support a family business as my family is also in foodservice. Normally I am not a someone who post but today took the cake. They serve hot food in the back of the store, the lady that sells the warm food is by far the meanest, rudest person i have seen at this store. She has been there for a little bit and the past three times i have interacted with her have been horrible, so bad that i did not get the duck the past two times, today i did- needed it. Apparently now, as she screamed at me, she is not responsible for the duck. And i mean yelled. The young guy at the register said they are a completely different business from them. Really too bad because people are not able to tell. I cannot tell you how excited i was to know that my family had a Asian Market so close by but now i just might drive the hour plus to Houston. The owners get high marks but low overall review for letting someone this mean, rude, and condescending occupy their space.
Always an enjoyable visit to get our Lumpia
Its not as big H mart but its local to me and has many items that I can use.... If you live by the store it out...It will you a trip to Katy
I often can not find the ingredients I am looking for here. Wish staff was a little more helpful. I did find one guy pretty helpful afters bit. So just keep asking.
Great Asian market! Doesn’t have everything but we can get a lot of the Asian goods that we need for the wife to cook delicious stuff.
Always have everything I need, very clean, so many options
Yori-wow inside has great korean food nice and fast service the kimchi fried rice and bulgogi are delicious!!!!!
Not much choices and little bit expensive. It’s the only asian store in the area. I guess not much of a choice.
So glad we can get some Asian food in the woodlands... only supermarket around..
This place is close to my house. Every time i go there, i alway be mad with the cashier because they are not even know how to pack the stuff for customer. They try to put everything on one bag, even though you buy basil and soy milk together. They gonna dump everything on the same bag.
Pretty good, they have really cute tiny plushies OwO
Pretty good selection of authentic groceries. Clean and organized.
Wonderful selection! Amazing prices! Very fresh meat and produce! So lucky this is in town.
Just found this store yesterday. What a great surprise! I wish it was bigger but honestly, even though it’s small, it has a great variety of just about everything you may need.
Its a good asian store but doesnt have too much selection due to the size and all. If you need something that is common in adian cooking then they should have it.
The greatest asian market Ive ever visited. Well stocked and staff is frindly. Delicious korean style cafeteria. Ask for their store made cucumber kimchi.
Great Asian market, especially in Northern Houston area. I am able to get a nice selection of groceries and fresh produce here. I have not yet tried anything from meat and seafood counters but I intend to.
Good variety of Asian groceries and produce
They don’t even have asian recipe ingredients!
It was clean, organized and so many different ingredients to choose from. From snacks, different types of noodles, fresh seafood and more. Will visit again soon.
We always come here to get are Asian Food. Great place.
If youre lokking for any asian sauce, you need to hit this place up
Great variety of products and the staff here is very friendly. I really enjoyed being able to pickup popping boba pearls here.
Great prices and excellent variety of produce and meats.
Great place to pick up all kinds of asian treats and tradition food.
Fantastic hot food selections. Great noodle variety. Large selection of produce.Customer service is great. They may take a little long but thats because they are helping others as they are usually busy but they are super helpful and friendly.Arguably one of the best asian markets in the city. The BTS stickers by the register are amusing.10/1011/10 with rice.
We used to come here often but recently there are not much variety of stuff in store and it seems they are not purchasing items anymore (perhaps going to close soon?). For example, for months we were not able to find any fresh Shiitake, Cilantro, Tamanishiki (koshihikari, or any descent Japanese rice), Chinese chicken bouillon, doubanjiang, tianmian sauce, nihachi soba, beef tripe, pho, etc. I think we used to have all of them. Since we go to Houston often, we just ended up going to H mart, Seiwa, or Daido and buy bunch to stock up. hopefully they will come back though...
They have a wide selection of Asian products and the service was very friendly. Would recommend to anybody who loves to stock up on good food.
Terrific selection. Excellent fresh bean sprouts!! Yummy!!
I would have given 5 stars but they didnt have 2 things on my list: curry leaves, tahini
Good selection but can be pricey compared to other Asian marts I’ve been to.
This Asian market has everything you need to create yummy dishes at home. No need to travel far to Houston, this market has it all. I made spring rolls, pho soup and I hope to try making additional dishes in the future. Their prices are nice plus customer service always very helpful. I purchased my first roasted duck here and it was so delicious.
Great grocery store. Very good selection and the staff is kind, helpful and professional. They seem to take COVID-19 protocols very seriously, as everyone in there is wearing a mask, so thats a plus also.
A good store for asian items
Great business with lots of great finds. Also their produce section is fantastic!
Not too big, lacking some common Asian ingredients that even Kroger has.
Stopped by this store for a specific mix. I saw it was empty on the shelf but there were rows of unopened boxes on top where you couldn’t see the numbers on half of them. I asked for help to see if we could look at the rows where we couldn’t see the numbers, and the lady refused to check. She was rude, cutting me off and said she would not check because if it’s empty on the shelf, it’s not there. If you’re going to go to this store, DO NOT expect customer service. I was beyond surprised at how rude she was and how she really refused to get a ladder and just check when there were so many boxes up there. She was so rude that I ended up leaving and not buying anything from them. Disappointed. There are other Asian stores in the area where they actually greet you and help you when you ask, go to those.
I often shop at Yun Loy for various things that I need that are either unavailable at HEB or simply cheaper. They typically have what I need and the prices are great, and service is always friendly. As far as Northside of Houston Asian markets go, this one is great!
Awesome customer service. They had full shelves and enough employees to even offer to help. I found everything but teabags, but you knew they would get more.
Oriental fruits and vegetables. Friendly staff.
Just love this place for all my Asian needs. Produce is phenomenal & fresh & inexpensive, you can get 3× the amount of fresh veggies than you would at a regular grocery store
Good prices, clean place, good customer service. Basic ingredients for oriental food cooking.
Very friendly and helpful! If they dont have what youre looking for, let them know and theyll try to get it in for you.
Clean, easy to find items.
Best cashier ever
Best Asian market in The Woodlands and North Houston area. Wide selection of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Thai foods, beverages, and produce.
Always great for specialty mushrooms and greens! Not to mention the wide array of exotics
I found everything I was looking for except fish sauce which I found very odd there was none
Yaaaaasssss! Clean, great selection, fresh meats, reasonably priced
This is where I get my favorite fish and all asian foods. Great place to get what I need.
Get your vegetables here! They are always beautiful and well organized. The staff is very friendly. Youll find many staples here at competitive prices. I bring my friends and they cant believe the value... cant recommend this market enough!
Good food
Good place for Kim Chi and all your other Asian food needs. They have a fresh fish market with good prices.
I expected them to have ginseng, mulberry, wolfberry, yum for brewing tea didnt find it.
Buyer beware. I recently bough fish there this week. When I got home the fish was apparently several days old and we threw it out. I also asked the lady to clean the fish. She removed the gills and left the entrails. Several times in the past I had negative encounters with some of the workers there. Buyer beware: if you are black you are not welcome there.
I love this place! Great selection! The lady that cooks in the back over the weekend makes amazing food! My favorite is her kimchee fried rice!
I’ve never been but it seems super cool
For a smaller local oriental market I was impressed with the variety of items that they had. Although admittedly Im not a sophisticated oriental grocery store shopper, they had all the types of items that I usually find at bigger oriental markets- maybe not every brand, but its selection was sufficient for me to come home with several bags of groceries. Their prices seem comparable to the larger markets. The store was very clean. Special thanks to the clerk who amused me with her marvelous sense of humor and sarcasm. I actually enjoyed checking out my groceries.
The best asian market i been to clean and the peolple who work there are super awesome!
So glad this place is here! An amazing variety of products in all the departments including fresh, seasonal and hard to find fruits and vegetables and beautiful, fresh seafood that the clerk with clean and prep for you if wanted. They also have a very tasty food stall in the back of the store. The store is always clean and well stocked with knowledgeable and extremely kind employees. I make regular trips here by myself and with my kids. No matter how many times we go in we always find what we need and new things to try. The prices are awesome!! I always look forward to my trips here! Love it!
Staff are so great including Susan. I buy my vegetables here at a great price and so fresh!!! I do as much shopping as i can here and they have a nice variety.
Awesome little neighborhood Asian market with a surprisingly wide selection. It looks a little small but has most anything I look for.
The owners of this store have always been super nice. They have the best Kim chi that I can find in all of Houston in my opinion, and they were so kind to give me a free gift for my best friends wedding. Thank you!
Please dont assume because I am African American, I am paying with food stamps! After checking out my card kept being declined. When I looked at the terminal the method of payment the cashier pressed was food stamps. The cashier was a young gentlemen. He stated, Your card was declined. I informed him that was incorrect. Then he glanced at my card and said, Oh wrong tender. I asked him had he already selected my payment on his register before showing my card? He answered, Yes. I then said, Oh you assumed I was paying with food stamps? His response, Sorry. Also that particular cashier also never greets me but goes out of his way to greet everyone else (non black). I have decided I will not return to the store for numerous reasons. Selection is limited, cashiers are rude, and assumptions are being made based on the color of my skin.
Can find anything here, even Ube Ice cream!!
We love this place! The produce is always really fresh and crisp and they offer a lot of things you just cant find at the average grocery store. We love trying new foods, especially the snacks. I cant speak to the meat as I havent bought any there. The staff is always very sweet and very helpful. Definitely stop by and try something new or find an old favorite you cant get at the major grocer.
I love this place. It has fresh produce and it always clean. Staff are nice, friendly and helpful.
Place was small no recognizable brands 2 registers ! Definitely not a Hong Kong market...
The cashier is so handsome and friendly
Weak. We need a real Asian market. Maybe Ranch 99 will come to this area.
Everything we need, in a small space, a convenience. The duck us different from what I am used to, but still tasty. Still have to go to Chinatown for black bean garlic sauce, and thats why you lost a star. Seriously though, this place is great, top to bottom, and everything in between.
Love this place! Fresh daily and they have hard to find ingredients.
Good selection of Filipino food
I love that we have an Asian grocer in the spring/ Woodlands area... it makes home cooking so much easier... no need to travel too far for those great ingredients and fresh veggies
I’m always in and out within a few minutes. I love their tofu and spicy noodle selections. The family is very nice and friendly. Keeps me coming back as I love to support small local businesses.
This is a convenient place when it comes to instant shopping for essential ingredients for classic Asian recipes. The staff is friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable considering the distance one would need to drive to Houston. The range of items is impressive when considering the size of the store. I give it a big thumbs up!👍
Staff and owner are helpful. Wide range of selection given its small size. Their instant noodles are unique and decent.
