Great hats & wonderful service. During a visit with our daughter, we accidentally ended up in the Hat People store. The ladies there were crazy helpful and a delight!They took one look at my husband and fitted him with a hat that was jaw dropping on him! Needless to say we purchased it and he gets nothing but complements all the time, whenever he wears it!We cant wait to go back when next were back in the area!

Absolutely exceeded my expectations. I purchased a cowboy hat for my son and afterwards realized it was not going to fit! I called up The Hat People and asked if I could come by after work because I was flying out the next day and needless to say they said of course and waited for me to arrive! Excellent quality and craftsmanship. If Im ever back in Texas I will definitely stop in again!

Not a friendly place. My boyfriend and I took a look in here out of curiosity and upon entering the owner immediately told us not to touch any of the hats. We were respectful and didnt touch any of her products and just meandered around her shop. When we were about to leave my boyfriend turned and grabbed my hand. This is when the owner turned extremely weird and rude. She started yelling NO HANDS! NO HANDS! Clearly talking to us. I was completely confused and embarrassed since we were not touching any of her products and just holding hands. Not to mention other people in the shop staring at us confused too. Embarrassing and unnecessary

Ive bought 3 hats from this place. First was a fedora for my daughter, and more recently 2 button-downs for my son and I. The lady who helped me, actually helped me. I told her what I was looking for and even though I didnt know the sizing for my kids(I didnt bring them) she was able to get me perfect fits. Spent $40 on the fedora, and about $100 on the 2 button-downs. This isnt LIDS. This is a quality hat retailer. If youre looking for a generic hat you can wear to a party, or on a tender date, go to the mall. I value a well made hat, and even though I was taken back by the pricing at first, I looked up the brands I bought once I left and found them to be cheaper at The Hat People than anywhere else. It is what it is and I will wear mine for years. I will be back once my kids grow out of theirs.

I recently shopped at Hat People and had an amazing experience. The owner was very helpful with me. She let me try on as many hats as I wanted, and even sized my head to find the perfect hat for me. They have tons of custom hats in all colors, sized, and styles. I will definently be coming back to shop here!!

Walked into this shop with my girlfriend and our roommates I kissed my girlfriend and the bitter old bat who runs the place said not in my shop which I would understand if it were anything more than a peck on the lips which it werent then got onto her for trying on a hat and proceeded to watch us like a hawk the whole time so I decided we should leave before I said something to the old crone your if you read this your hats arent all that great and you are nothing but a bitter old woman who provides a mediocre service at an unreasonably high price so step Off your high horse I havent idea what has made you so freaked out about a kiss or someone holding hands in your store but its not a good enough reason people should feel welcome in your shop dont get me wrong I was taught to respect my elders but I was also thought you have to give respect to get respect we did not feel welcome whatsoever I felt if we stayed any longer I might have said something that wouldve shattered the womans ego if she caught an attitude with us again so we left

My older son, 7, expressed an interest in hats at Dickens on the Strand this weekend, so when we passed by the Hat People today while finishing our Christmas shopping we thought we would take a look. He is a very gentle, careful kid and is always very respectful of owners shops in old town spring. His younger brother, 3, is too, but tends to get loud when he gets excited. My older son found a hat that he thought his younger brother would like, and as soon as he put it on his head the old woman whom I presume to be the owner abruptly shot over and told him these are grown up hats, these arent for kids ok? It startled my son so much that he dropped the hat he was holding on the floor. But as I said, because he is in fact a polite and respectful kid, he immediately picked the hat back up and put them back on the display racks. This was the only exchange the owners had with us, as they did not even say hello to us when we entered the store. No hello, no thank you, no goodbye, just this is not for you. Rude. We have NEVER had an issue in any store with our kids, and I was appalled that my son was turned away because of his age. Very disappointed in this shop.

I have never dealt with a business owner as disgustingly rude and unpleasant as one of the owners here. Its a wonder they are still in business. I highly recommend you search for hats elsewhere. Upon speaking with my friend, my grandparents, and my mother they all told me of their unsavory experience with this business.

The hats are nice enough. The prices are kind of high. The lady that runs it is really rude. She was the equivalent of the old man yelling get off my lawn. If I could give this place a negative star I would.

If you like being talked down to by rude shop owners Im sure youll love this place.
