FIRST OFF, THE SIGN IS MISSING.******They are between Wells Fargo and The Stadium Bar.**********THEY ARE NOT IN THE SPRING BARBER SHOP!***** No matter what Google maps tells you. This is a nice, cluttered old time model railroared shop, and I do mean cluttered. But the owner, Race, has been there for 25 years, and is knowledgeable about his grade. He carries from Z to Garden Scale, with a lot of HO and N scale stuff as well as track and paints.Since he is knowledgeable and passionate about his trade, it was a joy to talk with him.Overlook the clutter and take a trip back to the old time days of model railroad shops.Call first to make sure he is open and to make any product inquiries.

The owner Race is arguably one of the most knowledgeable “train men” you’ll ever meet. The people who shop here come as much for the conversation as they come for the hard to find products Race seems to magically make appear upon request. Is the store cluttered? Sure it is, Could I find it cheaper some place else? Don’t know, maybe. But until a website greets me by name when I walk in the door and asks how my wife and kids are doing and then offers to take a look at whatever train related issues I have for the day, he is, and will continue to be my number one recommended train stop in the Houston area.

Went there with my family. We were looking for specific items for my sons N-Scale layout. The place was disgusting!! A total hoarders palace! I could not believe what I saw..the man behind the counter(never actually saw one) was pretty knowledgeable overall, but when I asked about cleaning the track, he went on a 20 minute tirade..he needs to just close down..landlord will not fix anything..he has no sign..no a/c..only 2 or 3 lighs work..sad place

Been awhile since Ive been there, but everytime I went there, it was a good experience. Mr. Race was helpful, had what I was looking for, and had a play area for my kids(wooden Thomas trains to play with), which kept them occupied while I was shopping. Thank you Race for keeping the kid in all of us alive!

The guy that runs it is super nice, but unfortunately the store is trashed. Piles of empty boxes, non train related items and more are piled up everywhere. Some items had no price on them. There appeared to be even more stuff in the back of the store and im sure there is some neat stuff, its just so hard to find anything. If you spend a few days cleaning and organizing, this could be one of the best stores Ive ever been in, but in its current state, its just not ideal.

Drove an hour to this place just to be disappointed, didnt even open on time, owner I assuming was 20 minutes late. once inside thought it was a storageor a warehouse nothing had its placed and trash everywhere had to watch my footing it was so bad guy seems to be hoarder. I will never go there again and top it off I had my grandson with me and I felt embarrass taking him in there.

Wanted to purchase items in person and look at them in real life instead of using Internet shopping. This is an old-school style shop with a polite, courteous, and knowledgeable elder gentleman shop owner who helps you find and select what you need. They had exactly what I wanted. I could be wrong but I think some of the things I purchased are no longer available it looks like all their stock, and it’s great. Shops like this are disappearing. My products were clean although the shop was cluttered (like some of the antique shops around here). Not only do they carry everything for model railroading, they also sell some of the old style (original) wooden Thomas trains and Brio. I recommend that you keep your children at home due to the clutter. Owner also gave me some advice for my project. Great customer service. Will return.

I used to do model trains when I was a kid and now Im getting back into it with my kid. Of course over the years Im a little bit behind the times and Race was incredible for taking the time and explaining all the modern things and made me and my son feel very comfortable! I love this store because not only is it a place by great train stuff but its a great place to come and have a fun conversation about trains or anything! Race is a great guy and makes it very fun! Do business with this place. Its not a corporate store... its a community store with personality! ❤️️

Despite the store being messy, the owner KNOWS his stuff and was kind enough to spend 30 minutes with me diagnosing a problem with a locomotive. If you look closely with what he has in stock, you might just discover that hidden gem youve always been looking for(I did). So if you can stand looking through the boxes and boxes of stuff, its a great place to visit. You can find stuff in G, O, HO, N and Z scale here.

Its been a while since Ive been in the store. If you re a train nut or a novice, this is the place for you. It looks to me like the reason the place is cluttered is the owner cares more about customer service and helping others. If you have kids leave them at home. This place is meant for customers and visitors that have self control and know how to conduct themselves.I LOVE TIHS PLACE. I should go in a lot more often.

Trains is a great hobby and model shop. While its focus is on model trains, there is plenty of materials for the hobby generalist. Race the owner is a retired engineer and he can fix any toy or train you bring in. The only downside is that its cash only, so plan ahead!

Race is an extremely knowledgable and helpful shop owner. I hate to write anything negative about this shop, but last time I went in it was a bit of a mess. I really, really wanted to give him business though because you just dont find places like this anymore. Its complete with all parts for just about every model train out there ( at least that I know of ). People travel all over just to visit him, so its worth a phone call or a visit if youre nearby.

This train shop is the absolutely best kept secret in Houston/Spring. Not a lot of marketing but top notch model train repair in all scales. He even carries some Marklin which is sometimes hard to find in the states. Let the messy shop keep everyone else away and get your trains, parts, and repairs here!

Theres a massive pile of boxes to the right but the rest of the store is well organized. The owner is always there and is extremely helpful with any sort of scale modeling advice. if there is ANYTHING he doesnt have in his shop, he will order and have within 4 days. Really saves on shipping and cost from just buying it on the internet. Also has the only Tamiya or Floquil paints I have found in the area.

Model railway store with a good variety of products. The interior is very messy and dirty, and it also does not have any sign indicating the presence of the store, in such a way that its presence can only be warned by the generic open and closed sign. If you have the time and patience to search, you may find a hidden item that you have been looking for for a long time. Payments only in cash.
