I have been looking for the right words to post regarding Walter Lee and my experience at Gupton Motors and it hasn’t been easy. They set a high bar for buying a vehicle. I was fortunate enough to meet almost every department. Sales, Finance, parts(Walter’s deal was so good that I also bought a soft top) and Bo himself even came and spoke with me. Great people all around and I’m only sad that they aren’t closer but it was worth the 600+ mile drive back to have such a first class experience. They really made me feel like family.
We ordered our Sahara High Altitude on 7/1/21 and received it on 9/4/21. Overall experience was awesome, no upsell nothing during the purchase process, Daniel was very prompt with the email responses and during the day of delivery Rene was very friendly and helpful. I had been looking for a Jeep Wrangler for some time- they are tough to find and led to some unpleasant experiences at other dealerships. Then Jacob reached out to me from Gupton with a Rubicon that he thought would be perfect for me, based upon my wish-list. The Jeep had everything I wanted. Dealing with Jacob and the team at Gupton was a comfortable, no-pressure experience. They listened to my needs, kept the process as simple as possible, and even found slightly better financing for me. They also took care of a small upgrade on my Jeep quickly and professionally. Service department is blind leading the blind. Took my truck to dealership to get the work done right. Tech that did a tune up cant even match up the timing on the spark plugs, and in doing so Im pretty sure they damaged the catalytic converter. I will never bring any vehicle back to this place. Did I mention that it took a month for me to get my truck back. This place is a bad joke.
We drove 4 hours specifically to purchase with Gupton Motors due to their friendly, helpful & professional service in buying the ideal Jeep. Renee and everyone did not disappoint. Despite it being extremely busy, we were taken care of every step of the way. Bonus points for the rubber duck!

Heard great things about this dealer when it comes to buying a Jeep. Was quite disappointed by my experience there. I came with my girlfriend quite eager about a base trim Jeep Wrangler, but was met with confrontation the moment that we stepped on the lot. Short staffed and seemingly busy, so it was a bit slow to get to speak with someone (understandably). But when we did get approached, it was by a man on a golf cart who sat and stared at us like we were crazy at first before asking us anything. then we said we were looking for a stick shift, he said these were all custom orders so you wont find anything but one but was pretty aggressive about it? May have been a reflection of my demeanor, I dont know. I didnt feel I was upsetting to speak to but Im not the one talking to myself either. After he drove off, we did surf around the lot more before going inside. He came in, didnt acknowledge us. After about 5 minutes we were greeted by the other person working there. She was obviously busy so had a lot on her plate and was short to talk. But not unpleasant. Set us up for a test drive, and we were on our way. The plate wasnt stuck on well so it flew off on us and we had to retrieve it. I dont think there was much space to work with and the magnet just couldnt stick well so I cant give her trouble with that. Got back, and was met with confrontation about my offer off the bat. Told in a very condescending way honey you gotta pay your taxes and wasnt even given the time of day there. Low or not, I wasnt even entertained. Just informed how wrong I was. Was told if I ordered one they could do something for me, but that was it. Extremely condescending and negative once I made an offer as if I offended her. Most others would at least have taken the time to do a cost breakdown and see what we could do, or better yet get me to understand why they wouldnt come down. But not this instance. May have been the staff, may have just been the wrong day, or maybe I did misinterpret my demeanor. But what I received from those working wasnt pleasant either way.

I had an issue with a salesman’s the first time I went. The manager reached out to me and apologized for my experience and would like to make it right. So after talking with several people around town and my wife and I decided give them another chance. Walter is amazing, he really made us feel welcome and at home, we really enjoyed talking to him. Because of Walter we purchased the vehicle. Renee is also amazing very nice and enjoyed conversation with her. I will recommend these two and Gupton to all my friends.
I enthusiastically recommend Gupton Motors. I have purchased several new vehicles in my lifetime. The most exceptional experience I received was at this dealership. After a recommendation, I was connected with salesperson Walter Lee. He did not push sales quotas, dealer add ons, etc. Instead, Walter consulted carefully with me to determine the right truck for towing my large RV. Because the truck I needed was not in stock, Walter suggested ordering a truck built to my specifications. I thought that such a truck would be cost-prohibitive. But Walter was able to piece together the required options that met my budget and expectations.
Bought a new Jeep Wrangler there in 2018. it only has 12,000 miles on it. I had to wait three weeks to schedule my oil change. My appointment was going to be tomorrow Sept 8th so I called the service dept to make sure I could wait on it. The service guy told me it would take two hours. That did it for us. I live in Goodlettsville and its a good 30-40 minute or more drive to get up there, so I cancelled the appointment and went to Jiffy Lube in Goodlettsville. In and out in less than 20 minutes. If I owned that Jeep dealership, I certainly would have put my work clothes on and changed my customers oil to insure it got done. I wanted to believe the experience was better in the country but it is not.

Im changing my review months after buying a truck here. I have bought and had installed after market parts here with no discount. One part they couldnt even install. And when time for an oil change they couldnt fit me in anytime that worked for me at all. I had Mopar coupons that I was told were expired and they couldnt accept it, another dealership in the area just offered me the deal with no problems! It didnt matter to Gupton at because they didnt have time for me after my 52,000 dollar purchase. plus parts that they installed at 0$ discount for any parts or labor. Id recommend another dealership at this point. Ill never spend money there again. Id recommend no one else does for that matter. Customer service is terrible. Theyve got your money and thats all they want. No one in my family will ever buy from them.
After a long and exhausting search for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, we had the BEST experience we could have asked for at Gupton! Renee was kind, helpful, and best of all, not pushy. She allowed us to ask as many questions as we wanted, and was very communicative throughout the buying process. My buying experience was exceptional, Joe Mcpherson from Gupton worked with me to make sure I got what I wanted. However, If you plan to get maintenance performed seek that else where. The maintenance department continues to be problematic. Until the the owner gets quality leadership in the maintenance department it will continue to frustrate patrons. I turned my Jeep to have a trailer hitch installed, when getting in my vehicle; I found white paint on the passenger seat, someone trimmed his finger nails and left them on the floor board of the vehicle, ad grease stain inside of the door handle and lastly that same individual had some oily substance on them and smeared it on the the door panel. What’s most disturbing is the owner would not even come out after my sales man addressed the situation to the owner. He told me that the owner would only look at the vehicle after I left the car lot to avoid any confrontation. He was to ashamed to face me and say I’m sorry. We had to make arrangements again to get both of us to work, not once was there a hey use this car Im sorry will get if fixed. My wife called to see if the vehicle had been cleaned up, and the service manager had no clue what my wife was talking about. She had to repeat what happened. He also refused to talk about anything other than the jeep was cleaned up of the four above mention discrepancies. Never once even apologizing for what happen. Once I shared with my salesman the story I was going to post, he called to delay that. He said someone would and get with us and call, cal? for what say you were sorry. Its important for customers to support the community of businesses it keeps our community surviving. I really think you fail to understand the importance of customer service, It means everything to us, especially Disabled Veterans. I can not be a repeat customer.
Got the truck back in just a few days after dropping it off in the service department. Brought it there to have Steering wheel tightened and address a popping in the front of the truck when you turn left.. They said they could not find anything wrong in the front of the truck. I Noticed abnormal tire wear myself. So I took it to an independent alignment shop and had it lined up there. I think Highly of Dodge and their products but their service department has let me down. You think after buying a $55000 truck from them they would have worked harder to address my concerns, and might have noticed front tire wear when customer complained of a front end problem.
Out of the numerous dealerships I dealt with during my vehicle search, this place had the best deals and the most courteous team I came across. They had me relaxed and at ease, instead of feeling like just another number. Renee is outstanding and the type of individual every car salesperson should strive to be. If you want great deals and great team members, look no further.
Let me just say, that was absolutely the best vehicle repair experience Ive ever had at any dealership. Thats really saying alot, because Ive been driving for 48 yrs. Think Ill buy my next vehicle here, and you should too! Gupton is the polar opposite of all your dealership nightmares, period. My husband and I went into Gupton with a very specific car/ truck we wanted and we knew exactly how much we were willing to spend. The salesman, Mr. Kemmy that helped us was amazing! He helped us with a trade in and we both left with our new vehicles. Ms. Val did all of paperwork, she was great and very knowledgeable. We kept them a hour past closing (I apologized a hundreds times), both kept saying “no problem that’s what we are here for”. I have never enjoyed vehicle shopping at car lots due to the annoying salesman trying to put you in a car that day. I was looking at a new truck and Mr. Walter Lee approached me. He was very professional and not pushing to make an immediate sale. He proved right off the start that he wanted me to make the right choice even if it wasnt that day! Long story short if your in the vehicle market you would be crazy to not let this guy have a chance. You will not be disappointed! I will return to Gupton Motors for any purchases in the future. Would highly not recommend Gupton for their used vehicle inventory. Recently bought a used vehicle from them. Price was fair. Service from the salesman/sales staff was adequate.Took it to a local mechanic shop to have them check it over, they (Gupton) clearly did not do a used vehicle inspection. Cabin air filter had 2 years of filth built up, had 3 different coolant colors in the reservoir, the oil was not changed, really dirty, it had a Mighty Auto Parts Oil filter, instead of a MOPAR OEM filter. More than likely they threw on their oil service sticker on the windshield and put it on the lot. Tried twice to call and make a formal complaint but was hung up on twice. Seems like shady dealings to me. I learned my lesson. Not to do business with this dealership again.

Renee is my salesperson of choice and I highly recommend her for her professionalism, compassion, and “get er done” attitude! My purchase was completely over the phone and email and it’s the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. They are getting my purchase from another dealer, I will post again once we take delivery of our new 2020 Chrysler Pacifica which they found for me in the exact exterior and interior colors I just had to have. I can’t wait to see it, drive it, and enjoy it with my elderly Mom and Aunt. Tried to buy a Gladiator, unable to make a good deal due to low sales and low inventory so I left.I received a solicitation email from sales manager asking about my experience. I replied and explained my experience and lack of satisfaction. I received a generic template email from the manager that he would get back to me in the time frame we discussed. Pretty obvious he never read my email. Also never got back to me. Very Junior Varsity operation.
I have nothing but praise for the service dept. at Gupton. Hailey was as sweet and helpful as anyone could be. Had five recalls and they had me in and out in about three hours. Never tried to pressure me for any other repairs. They got my business and respect.
I have been looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee for awhile and found several on the internet but the one I really liked was at Gupton. I emailed to see if it was still available and Walter emailed me back saying yes. I didnt make it over for about 3 weeks to check it out but Walter kept in touch through email. It was everything I have been wanting and Walter made it happen. I drove it home and as soon I got out I found that it had an antifreeze leak. I emailed Walter immediately because I did not purchase a warranty but I had just driven it off the lot. He had his service dept look at it first thing on Monday and replaced the radiator and thermostat at no charge. That spoke volumes to me that Gupton is fantastic and values their customers. My sister even bought a truck at Gupton the same day they fixed my car. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Walter is a great salesman so ask for him when you go in!! Thanks Gupton!!
I had been looking for a new Ram for months and along the way I stopped by many dealerships looking for the right deal. Most dealerships have that same feel, someone rushes you right away and they become very pushy. They utilize sales tactics on the spot that really make the experience not very enjoyable. As soon as I called Gupton Ram I could tell they were not that type of dealership. Renee was very easy to work with and did a great job. Every step of the process was very smooth all the way to the finance office. If I had to recommend a dealership to someone it would be Gupton as the overall experience was very relaxing and they really do make it about the customer and not just the sale. They worked patiently with me, moved me towards the right direction on the vehicle I wanted, and never felt pressured to buying at anytime. My sales person was Renee Berry. When I first called and told her what I was looking for, she answered all my questions on exactly what I wanted. Didn’t try to sell me something different. She had it pulled up front when I arrived. She stayed after hours to and I never felt rushed. She took her time to make it a great experience. Would definitely recommend her to anyone.

But my wife just gave her car to one of our daughters, so we needed a used car to replace hers . I guy I work with who lives in the area reminded me of Gupton . So I meet David Powell there in the showroom telling him we werent looking for a new car today but a used one, but reliable with low miles . Im changing my review after having a very positive experience here.My Jeep broke down, but it was due to a factory recall part. I was able to limp my Jeep to guptons, and while they didnt have the part in stock, they ordered it ASAP, But it would take a few days to arrive. They let me keep my Jeep there, at no charge for me.I assumed I would be able to get a rental car quickly, that turned out not to be the case as enterprise had no vehicles available.So I was going to have to walk back home to GreenbrierHowever, even though I didnt buy my Jeep from them, and the service was a no charge recall service. Salesman Kimmy, upon learning that I was going to have to walk back to Greenbrier, made sure that I had a ride home, by having one of the techs give me a lift.That gesture spoke volumes to me. Even though they were making no money off of me, they still went out of their way to help me out. This does change my opinion greatly from my last experience. And when its time to trade in, I will definitely check with Kimmy first.I would also like to note, that they just called me, its been less than 24 hours since I took my Jeep there. They were able to get the part in, and get my Jeep fixed in less than a day. David my service advisor was great, and helped me get on my way quickly.

When we were talking to him it didn’t seem like he was trying to Push us into buying a vehicle. He made sure we had all the information we needed and left us to do our thing. Over the past year I have had quite a few oil changes and other maintenance performed on my cars, and all were completed with great satisfaction until today. I took my van in for the required mileage oil change. I travel from Joelton to Springfield for this routine maintenance. Long story short, they failed to put the oil cap back on properly and when I got home (20 minutes) later the check engine light was on and I had an oil spray under the hood and over the engine. Not knowing what was wrong, I immediately called their service department. They said to bring it back to be checked out. They found the problem, as the mechanic failed to replace the oil cap properly. They returned to car to me, saying it was good to go. When I started it up, the oil light/ check engine light was still on. I went back to the service manager and told them of the lights being on. They took it back into the shop for another 40 minutes. They finally corrected the issue, to include whipping down the inside of the engine compartment. However, they did not get all the oil from under the hood, so now I have oil drip spots in my driveway. They did not offer any compensation for my time nor any offer of free car wash, oil change or anything. The service manager, sorry I forgot his name, did apologize, but words only go so far.I will give them one more chance as I have another scheduled oil change in the near future, if I am completely satisfied with the service, I will not return there for any reason.

Our truck blew a wheel bearing on our summer vacation as were passing through. These guys were the only dealership who said, bring it in, we will look it immediately. They had it on the rack and fixed in two hours. They didn’t let this inconvenience our vacation and I am grateful. Wish we had their service team back home!

I bought a truck here in late April of this this year (2016). It was used, and seemed to be in good condition minus a noise when the clutch engaged. I asked about the noise on the test drive to the guy who was the seller, What is that sound?To which he replied, Oh thats the throw out bearing. Its supposed to make that noise. Thats how you know its working. Considering Im not a mechanic I was believed him since the truck seemingly ran fine.Its the first week of November, and Ive had to replace the entire A/C system, the ball joints, control arms, clutch, the entire rear end, the drive shaft, and the transmission had to be completely rebuilt. All of this has totaled
Stay away from the Service department, it is pretty much a rip off. Does not deserve even one star. We’ve had our truck serviced here several times (only place it has been serviced) and in the past was charged over $400 to repair our AC, about 6 weeks later, it was not cold, they only charged it with a small leak, $400 to charge the AC?. We didn’t say anything because we had been happy with everything else done to the truck. HOWEVER, that has changed, we took our truck over because the brakes last time we drove it made a little rubbing, so we called and asked about putting brakes on it, was told $49 to diagnose the brakes, we already knew it needed brakes. Well after dropping it off, first called needed tires $800 then a rear seal leak and $1400 to put brakes, and rotors and change the oil. We said no tires and fix the the leak and change the oil. Next day call received you have a transfer case leak, we said no just the brakes, then next called, you need brake calipers, another $1500. Well we couldn’t afford over $3000 to put brakes on the truck and said we will do that ourself. Picked up our truck, didn’t make it barely out off the parking lot, the truck looked like it was on fire, smoking so bad and barely running. DO NOT LET THEM WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE. I wanted to take it right back, they were closing as we were leaving, but he set there with the pedal to the floor and the truck smoking so bad, it finally stopped and smoothed out some, we have no idea what they did to cause this. We started on home, made it about 10 miles, the right front brake locked up and was smoking so bad. We got it home to our garage, and next day tried to begin taking the right wheel off, the lugs nuts were inconsistently tightened and it took forever with a lot of extra effort getting all lug nuts off (same on both front wheels) then we try to remove the caliper and the bottom bolt head was stripped out, took us a long time to get it out. The piston rim on the caliper had metal ripped out of it. They did this removing the caliper and then put them back on. We would have let them put the calipers on but $1500 to do it was ridiculous, the parts costed less than $100 for both front wheels. Well we thought the back ones were at repaired correctly after paying $1581.00 at pick up, however after we got the front repaired, the next day we found a leak in the LH rear. Unless you ready to pay a fortune for your repairs, you better do it yourself or find someone that you can trust. Will never take anything back there again.

Brought my vehicle in for a misfire. Mike in the service department called me promptly with a diagnosis and conservatively tested and repaired the issue. Mike was honest and fair. Will be bringing my business to Gupton from now on!

I bought a used car there 2 years ago. I financed it for 1 year so I can establish credit history. I went to buy another car last week at another dealer and they told me they didnt have any marks for good credit from Gupton.. Ive called numerous times to the finance department to tell them to add the months to my credit report and still cant get thru. Its amazing they could care less to help you establish credit the right way but if you are delinquent in a payment they sure will be glad to put a mark on your credit. I was actually going to look at cars here again, but not now. Ill remove this when they contact me and add my one year of good payments to the credit bureaus. Everything else was great. Sales rep was great, The cars still runs great and they worked with me. At the time of sale
This dealership spoke volumes today, I had a issue with my trucks batteries after 2 weeks of owning it, the owner and the salemans called and sincerely apologized, and resolved the problem! They were kind and courteous, even with a unhappy customer at the moment! I appreciate them tons! They really proved that they are not your typical dealership trying to scam you!! Definitely ask for the salesman David Smith to help you with your purchase! Looking forward to my next few years in my 3500 dodge, and excited to purchase the next one through them as well!

Gupton is one of the very select few dealerships that I will go to i have bought 2 vehicles from them over the past 2 years. Both vehicles I have purchased have been amazing and the staff at Gupton are patient and understanding. I personally have never had a problem with the staff at Gupton and doubt that you would either.
No inventory. The inventory they did have, they seemed bored with the notion of actually selling it. Springfield is an awful place for a dealership. I thought that they would help us out. I was wrong!

I wish there were negative stars because 1 Star is way too much of a complement. Austin the service manager is a liar! The service department takes their dear ol’sweet time before repairing your vehicle and my vehicle has had many repairs but nothing has been fixed!I wish I knew where to take my vehicle to be repaired!

This review is on the service department only. I have had no interaction with the rest of the dealership. This is one of the worst service departments Ive ever had to deal with. They take forever for any service. The do not update you about the vehicle or any problems. No one knows anything. Manager has no idea whats going on. Hell tell you he has to speak to the tech to get an update. This is normally not an issue, however when you stand there for 30-45 minutes without anyone coming back to update you, that is a problem. Stay away. Ill be going to the Clarksville Ram dealer from now on.

Out of the 4 times I took my Jeep to get a recall fixed, they never were able to fix it. They kept faulting that they didnt have the parts, or then they ordered the wrong parts everytime until I just gave up and continued to drive it without the recall being fixed.
