My truck had a major problem with the front differential. It took a lot of work and longer than anyone would have liked to get parts, but in the end I drove out and so far my rig runs fine. Christy was very helpful.

My only disappointment was that I had purposely scheduled this appointment for a time that they could get the car back to me quickly. The person that made the appointment was out so somebody else helped me. That person indicated that as a” full service“ shop they really don’t work that way... but he’d see what he could do. After nearly two hours of killing time in downtown Springfield I walked back over to the shop. The car was done but nobody had called to let me know.

Pretty decent, I guess... they seem to charge an arm and a leg for simple work.. Example of the matter is charging 138 for a post Maf tube... stay on top of it otherwise they will go ahead and do work without youre ok.... Also I still have a vacuum leak so thanks Sun Auto...

I took our vehicle here upon request of a potential buyer. I had let the buyer drive the vehicle for a half hour previously and all went well. We got to Sun and the technician looking at it told us he was going to take it for a drive to assess if it needs anything. At this time I pointed out that it has a service vehicle message on the info screen and the tire pressure light was on, but it wasnt check engine. He looked at it and agreed, then was gone for a half hour, which seemed a little long for a shop to have a vehicle out on the street. When he got back he then put it on the lift to assess the underside. When we came inside to see what he found the first thing he told me was that the check engine light was on. Ive owned the vehicle for 7 years and never had that light come on, so it seemed very fishy that it just so happened to come on when we were showing the vehicle for sale. He told me it was the knock sensor and the oil pressure sensor, but the oil pressure sensor has a separate light that was not on, and when I asked him that he stumbled over his words and said I was right on that one. So I have a very hard time trusting that the knock sensor is actually sending an error code all things considered.

Performed a very detailed multipoint inspection and found my problem. Recommended a few other things that will need done in the future, but weren’t pushy about it.

I was on a road trip from California and was concerned that the oil was low, the tires were low, and the car was making a rattling noise. Sun Automotive looked at the car the morning after I called, and within a few minutes they had topped off the fluids and diagnosed that the car would need a new gasket for an oil leak soon. The technician was kind and informative, and took time to help me understand the problem clearly. And I was not charged for the service! I highly recommend Sun Automotive in Springfield and I would use them all the time if I lived in the area. I was impressed by their integrity, knowledge, and honesty, and they really put my mind at ease while I was on a long road trip by myself.

This is the second time Ive taken my car to Sun Auto in Springfield, and I cannot be more confident in my 5 star rating. The first time, with a previous car, they were fast, communicative, kind, and affordable. The most recent time, my new car had a brake issue and I was kept in the loop the entire process. Again, they were friendly, efficient, and helpful! I recommend them to everyone, and I will trust them with my vehicle every time!

They were very friendly and efficient in explaining the problems they found on my car and kept in communication with me throughout the repair process which was completed the next day. I was referred by my Dad so based on his recommendation and my own experience I feel confident about any future repairs being done here at Sun. I went to the Springfield location.

Thats not true because I knew that window was broken and never roll it down and Im extra cautious about the safety of my car and always make sure all windows are up and doors locked.. But Ill give you 2 stars because you did good on my AV axle.

My car has some what been a burden. Other shops have taken advantage of me or just haven’t had the quality of work for the price. So getting work done has been rather hard. Where can I take it. Who can I trust. Sun automotive hasn’t done me wrong. The most recent adventure being the transmission. It was really hard to find a shop who could find one and work around my busy work schedule and life style. Sun automotive was able to find one. Hook me up with a loaner vehicle and get me back on the road in two days. Their service goes above and beyond other shops with in the area. And now my car shifts better and smoother then ever. Thank you to Craig and the team for their out standing service.

The staff here is amazing! From the techs to the service advisors to the owner, all focused on taking care of you and your family. They were very efficient with the repairs and informed us of exactly what needed to be fixed and what didn’t. They replaced the struts, had an alignment done and checked the brakes all in under 2 hours. I would highly recommend Sun Automotive to anyone needing repairs or even just an oil change. They use Mobil oils and even I know that is the best stuff for my cars. My wife and I will always go see Craig, Ashley and Tiffany for our car needs going forward. Was referred here by a coworker. We are new to the Springfield area. Had a good idea what was wrong with the car coming in and wanted them to look at it and get a quote. They did a two inspections which costs $175 and didnt tell me. Thought I was getting a visual inspection. Sun Auto told me my breaks were fine. The ball joint repair cost was twice that of the other 2 shops I called. Brought it to another shop and they found that my break pads were separated from the metal backing which is pretty serious thing to miss when looking at the break system for an hour. They are nice people working there but I guess knowing what things cost ahead of time out have been nice. The missed break inspection is an honest error but easily avoidable.UPDATE: We were contacted by Sun Automotive. They apologized and covered the cost of the break repair parts. They are very friendly people to work with and told us they want to know of any mistakes they might have made so that these issues wont happen again.

I ask for a quote to replace my ac compressor and refill the system with freon. & He never returned my call with a quote. I figure they dont want my business.

I had a situation with a vehicle and needed an immediate fix. Now, I understand not everything can happen quickly all the time, but these guys at Sun Automotive were very accommodating to say the least and had me on the road in less than two hours. He was kind and respectful on the phone, and made it clear that hes committed to providing service that, in every way, is acceptable to each and every customer. After a lengthy discussion about my concerns, he and I came to a mutually agreeable resolution, and I commend Craig for standing by his commitment to treat his customers like family. I was very pleased with sun automotive.I called them late in the afternoon to have my alternator replaced and they were able to have it done for me by noon the next day. No hesitation to get it done. Also had no problem picking me up from work.

I brought my F 150 into Sun Automotive because my truck was running bad. I had run the codes on my truck and it showed right and left bank were running lean. This was in November towards the end of the month. I am a contractor and my truck is probably the most important tool I have. When I left Sun Automotive the first time they told me the problem was fixed. By the time I got home it still had all the same problems that I brought it in for. I called the very next morning and told The woman at the front desk that it’s still running bad and she told me to bring it back in and they will take a look and see if they can figure out the problem. I have been so busy that it took me 2 months to get my truck back in. My initial bill was just under $1300.00 and when I brought it back in they had told me it was going to cost me another $700.00 plus to fix it. At this point I was highly frustrated . Not only was it now costing me another $700 but also the time I would lose at work. I decided to take it to another shop. They charged me $610.00 to fix my vehicle and my truck is running like a top now. I had written a bad review about Sun Automotive and within a couple of day’s the owner of Sun called me and set up an appointment with me to discuss my issues. Craig ( The owner ) met with me this morning and chatted with me and I told him my issues and he told me he wanted me as a customer to be happy and that his compass always points North. True to his word he offered me two options. 1 . I could have an in store credit . Or 2. He would cut me a check for what I spent at the other shop. I have to say that in all my years of dealing with people I have very rarely had someone go the that much effort to keep his word and make things right. Craig your a stand up guy and I highly appreciate the private phone call from you while you were out of town and you keeping your word. Went above and beyond for me! Excellent service and will definitely be going back! Only thing I didn’t like was the parking lot. It was packed and overcrowded so it was hard to drive in it but a busy shop just means it’s good!

They quickly diagnosed out liftgate electrical problem and repaired it. They also discovered a safety issue with our serpentine belt that could gave left us stranded. Also quickly replaced. Always a pleasure to do business with Sun Automotive.

We towed my daughters SUV from CA and needed to reconnect the drive shaft. I called several automotive stores and no one was able to help me and if they did it was until next week. I must say that when I called Sun Automotive, they were extreme helpful and gave me a quick response to my question. When we arrived to the shop the mechanic looked at the car, unloaded it from the tow dolly, and took it in the shop all while it was cold and raining. He was extremely nice and helpful. Came here for a presale check for a van I wanted to purchase. the service was priced well and thorough. however the mechanic tried very hard to convince me that the van was in much worse condition than it really was. I felt like he was trying to mislead me — the van needed a full schedule of fluid maintenance and will need a few repairs coming up (it’s a 1992 so that is to be expected) but he tried hard to tell me that these things meant the van was in very poor condition. in fact it had no major issues at all and the condition is better than I had hoped, yet the mechanic told me in as many words, “don’t buy this car.” friends think he wanted to buy the van for himself but my impression was that sun automotive has beef with the dealership where I purchased the van. all in all, I was happy with the information I received here, but I would avoid this shop if I weren’t car savvy or choose to bring someone along who could make sure they understood what advice & recommendations were being given.edit: i was not comfortable with being called by this business multiple times with regards to my review and I do not appreciate being called a liar over a lukewarm review. I know what I am getting into when purchasing a presale check for a vehicle: I expected an itemized list of things that were wrong. what I didn’t like was being pressured out of buying an older vehicle with potential issues, rather than told what the issues were and what kind of condition the car was in for its age. i’m a bit taken aback by this hostility and will not be returning here in the future.

Great service! I was told by the dealership I needed a $1,550 repair because I had an oil leak under the cam cover on my car. Sun did a leak test and all I needed was the oil plug replaced . Turns out I didnt need the costly repair. Thank you Sun Automotive. You earned a lifetime customer!

I must say having your car serviced as a female is not so fun. For years I was taking my car to 3-4 places to see what they actually agreed on. Made up parts with huge price tags were really a thing! Dont get me wrong, having Mark on staff at Sun for YEARS was the reason why we stayed with Sun. With the owner change I was skeptical at first. Then we met Tiffany.
