Nice clean meat, I enjoyed my visit. Everyone was very kind and the meat looked great. I wanted to just check it out, and the meat just taste better!

I’ve been looking for a lamb shoulder forever. I thought I was going to have to buy one online and have it delivered to me. I contacted the folks at Springfield Butcher and they had what I needed on deck. When I got there one of the butchers went and grabbed a whole lamb and cut my shoulder right off of that bad boy.

I come here for my dog’s bones. They chop them in thirds for me as well so my dog can enjoy the whole bone.We buy a few pounds and store a large bag in the freezer. We come on a monthly basis for about a year now.Great place for quality dog bones and at a reasonable price!

This is our go-to shop for all of our meat! The staff is helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. The meat is absolutely first-rate. The prices are excellent. It was a genuine surprise that the prices are competitive and comparable to the grocery store but the quality is sooooo much better! The seafood selection is smaller than we would like but the chicken, beef and pork variety is superb. They also do special orders for things like authentic beef Wellington and holiday meals. This shop will not let you down!

The servers are all friendly and are helpful on making recommendations for choice cuts and sizes. During my first visit, I brought along my father. We picked up some filets, Kielbasa, and sausage. They also had crab cakes and a range of other meats like tomahawk steaks, assorted sausages, and a number of ground meatsHowever, I have to knock off a star because there were some steaks in the display box that were clearly passed their expiration or recommended sell date. They were browning and were at the top of the row by the fresher meat. This wasnt a good look. Ultimately, the products were tasty. I hope they will have more grass fed meats in the future.

Quality meats are a staple here. There arent too many local butchers left anymore and its hard to find a place that will cater to your desire. This place will prepare your selections however you wish and provide ample advice if you have any questions. I really like this spot!!! They can be a bit pricey compared to local grocery stores but you are paying for quality!!! In addition, check out Groupon because they regularly offer 50% coupons and that makes shopping much more economical.

I stopped in for the first time this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was very friendly. North Carolina BBQ was actually good. Prices were reasonable. Trip was worth the visit!

Great place for high quality meats. Have purchased a large prime rib from this shop a few times and Im never disappointed. Plus, their employees give helpful advice too. Although, it can be crowded at holidays (picture taken Christmas Eve) so you may want to call ahead.

We continue to enjoy being customers at Springfield Butcher. The meat is consistently excellent and the folks working the counter are friendly and speedy. Ive had a variety of steaks, sausages, bacon, and ribs... Im yet to be disappointed. Its a little bit more expensive than the supermarket offering, but they always have what Im looking for, and the prices dont seem unreasonable.A note for the covid aware, they have a 5 person limit in the lobby, so there can sometimes be a bit of a line, but the wait is worth it. The mask practice is consistent for employees and customers.

I visit the Springfield Butcher at least once a week. High quality meats and seafood. Also, they have other game available as well. The staff are very friendly and will answer all of you questions concerning cuts, storage and even recipes. They do special orders, pre-orders and specials. Reasonably priced even on prime cuts. They close at 5PM and are closed on Sunday. I flat out love this butcher shop.

They are so nice. Plenty of items. Somewhat privacy but so good. Cant want to go back for my next meal. Crabcakes were delicious.

This is my go-to place for meats and seafood. I love the atmosphere and employees. In the ever-growing city of Alexandria this place feels like a small town butcher. They have a lot of grass fed options, wild caught seafood, and chicken breasts made to order. When I am feeling adventurous and want to try something new, they give me plenty of advice on how to prepare and serve the dish.

Theyre friendly, knowledgeable, customer oriented, have a great selection and good prices. I love this butcher!

I cant believe Ive lived in NOVA for over five years and Im just now finding this place. The quality of meat is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. They can accommodate any special requests and they have ample staff on hand to take orders and keep the shop looking spick and span. Well definitely be visiting on a regular basis.

Love this place! it would be one thing if they were only on point in terms of quality and cost but the people behind the counter are awesome. Feel comfortable asking questions and walk away not just with great food but a great experience.

Weve started going to Springfield Butcher in the last few months, and weve had a fantastic experience every time! So far weve tried their wings, tomahawk steak, ground sausage, ribs, chicken breasts, ground beef, and we have a prime rib in the refrigerator right now in prep for tomorrow. We have also been using the Lumberjack pellets on our Traeger, and theyve been great as well. Highly recommend Springfield Butcher!

Pricing is very fair, especially for a specialty shop. They can help you get exactly what you want. I am planning on copying Disneylands Turkey legs, and they had legs for me at a great price!

I’m surprised reading some of the reviews. They rarely take phone orders, so I find it hard to believe they would have done so and then sold the items to another. I’ve never had them sell my orders. And their prices are very reasonable for the quality. I never buy meat or seafood anywhere else. The meat is always sourced from the same farms, and that’s important to me.

They know meats, have good selection, but they had reputation for being grumpy to customers. But Sarah behind counter is friendly, very knowledgeable, quick, and a ray of light. Their bacon is great.

Went in for the first time with my Groupon deal today. Been wanting to go for years based on what I read. Awesome service - the lady who helped me gave me a beef tutorial in under 69 seconds. The quality of the beef and seafood is simply heads and shoulders above anything else anywhere else.

They are great! They cost a little more than the grocery store but it is FRESH. I started getting my grilling meats from here in the summer of 2013. I rarely get meat from supermarkets now because the difference is night and day. Nice to buy from a place that actually knows where your meat is from, when its from, and what it ate.

I really like this place and have gotten great seafood and meat in the past. Sunday we bought chicken tenders that turned out to be spoiled two days later...which is too short a fridge life. I called them and they handled the issue.

The had a variety of cuts of meat available. I called ahead and they were able to let me know lots of oxtails were still available. I have ordered from them multiple times before and each experience was good.

I would post zero stars if possible! Placed a special order and gave a deposit to have a whole pig ready on 12/30 for a 12/31 roast. Was told on 12/30 some excuse about it not being received but should arrive on 12/31. Go to store on 12/31 which was already late to start the roast to be told its not in yet and told some excuse about bad weather when in the area we have had the best weather the past week. Will NEVER order/come to this place. BTW when in store the owner kept avoiding us.. Highly unprofessional and next time I need a special order on meats, will drive to PA and purchase at a farm. I do not recommend this place at all!!

Had their ground lamb an it was great. Also had them process a deer. They did a great job but I wish they vacuum packed everything instead of the standard packing.

I just moved to the area from TN and I found this place because of a Living Social deal they were doing. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!This is the ONLY place I buy meat, seafood, bacon, worth the extra money. Quality is the best Ive ever seen. We now go every weekend.

Staff is friendly, but if youre looking for a traditional butcher shop that cuts meat you should try somewhere else. Ive been into the store several times looking for various cuts from roasts to brisket, and everytime they have refused to cut smaller portions. I understand the logic, I just dont think its what most consumers expect from a butcher shop. Im willing to throw down some money if I feel comfortable handling large cuts of meat, but if youre still learning or have a small family youre better off going to a chain grocery where more reasonable portions can be bought.

Excellent service every time I go. This is my go to butcher. I live in McLean and drive all the way here because its worth it. The meat is raised with humane practices. Dont go anywhere else.

This is my go to place for all of my meats. Its expensive but worth every penny. The counter reps are great and will give you tips on cooking if you need some ideas. I love their Groupons but would go there even if they didnt offer them.

You can get any kind of cut you would like here and we think the meat is excellent. I like browsing because theres always something new in the case...bacon wrapped venison back strap anyone? I bought the crabcakes for Xmas dinner once. Theyre the best.They keep the door open on nice days and provide personal service. You do pay for it though, so if youre on a strict budget this might not be the place for you unless you buy in volume and have a freezer.

Love this butcher shop, can be a little pricey but the quality is well worth it. If I lived closer this would be the only place I would get my meats from. The super market selection has nothing on this place.

Was here last week doing some shopping for the family. The meats are a little more expensive than say Giant, Safeway, Wholefoods, etc. but, at least I have an idea where my food is coming from. There is a difference between store bought meats and grocery meats. You get what you pay for.

I called ahead to order a half leg of lamb to be deboned and ready for pickup. I gave the man on the phone my last name and told him I would be within an hour. When I arrived they had sold the leg of lamb even though I had called to order it. Will not make the mistake of shopping there ever again!

This place is great! My co-worker told me about it right after I moved in this area. The Italian sausage is very tasty! We buy pork, lamb, and beef here regularly. Goupon offers great groupon for this store and it is highly recommended!

The best butcher in springfield and fairfax, quality food for the price and they can tell you where it came from. Offers freezer stock packages, and you can preorder turkey or what have you for the holidays. The staff is friendly, and if you are unsure what steak or ground meat to use, they can help you and give advice.

A bit overpriced, even with the Groupon but it is definitely the best tasting meat you can buy. The owner is great and attentive. I wish they would lower the prices and have an everyday special or advertising like, 5$ off if you spend 50$ or more so I could go in more often minus the Groupon. I didnt have any problems with service.

Enjoyed my visit to the Butcher today! Used an old Groupon to save some cash and picked up those delicious Crabcakes. On Tuesdays the Crabcakes are $7.99 each. I also was looking for a round steak for a recipe. The lady looked at my phone to determine which cut (bottom round)would be best. After weighing my selection, she sliced all my meat to the preferred strip size in the recipe. Now thats service!

Fantastic meats at very good prices. You get the best deals on the premium meats.My goto meats are the grassfed beef, lamb and fresh ground sausage pork. The sausage pork is THE BEST. I have never had sausage pork that fresh before. Its amazing.

This is my very first review and i have to say this place is awful! We bought pork leg for our New Year dinner!Meat smelled like uncastread, smelled like boar taint (androstenone and skatole – that is in the fat of male pigs. Androstenone (a male pheromone) is produced in the testes as male pigs reach puberty, while skatole (a byproduct of intestinal bacteria, or bacterial metabolite of the amino acid tryptophan) is produced in both male and female pigs).I cant even explain how bad it smelled. We trashed right after we cooked and open all windows so we dont smell the thing! We paid for this leg $37, we were thinking to get another one but we didnt, fortunately. Thats how we stayed with empty plates on our New Years Day! Do not recommend!

Overall, solid quality, but very expensive (even with the frequent Groupons).Crab cakes - As other reviewers already mentioned, really delicious. If you havent tried them, Id highly recommend it. Theyre quick and easy to cook. At $6.99 for a small crab cake, they are pricey though. Also, Ive been here 3-4 times and have been over charged for the crab cakes EVERY time (I dropped a star for this). They advertise (on a sign taped above the crab cakes) that if you buy 5 or more, the price per crab cake is a dollar cheaper each. Ive never actually gotten this discount. Ill usually notice that Ive been overcharged as Im walking out the door, but since theyre typically very busy, it ends up being too annoying to go back to correct their mistake. Its a bit suspicious that this seems to happen every time too. If you do buy the crab cakes, keep an eye the charges!Duck breast - The good thing is that they carry duck pretty regularly (Ive found it hard to find a consistent source of duck breast in D.C.). The bad is that its previously frozen duck. Its still decent quality though. However, its super expensive. Ive noticed that they dont typically print the price on the vacuum sealed packages, but if you decide to buy, just assume youll pay a lot.Customer service - Given that it tends to be really busy, expect to wait. However, they do have a nice system to deal with the crowds - you take a number by the door and they just call out the numbers. The people who works here always seem really friendly and knowledgeable as well.Parking - Ive always been able to find a spot, but the lot here always seems to be miserably busy. Theres always a long wait to get out of the parking lot.
