First, let me say this is the first time I have ever posted a comment regarding a business on Google. I am doing so because I am beyond frustrated. We just purchased a new home and are in need of having our kitchen redone. We were excited not just about the home purchase but the kitchen remodel. Those dreams were quickly dashed when we contacted cabinet discounters of Springfield.I am so livid that I am literally composing this review from the parking lot. After corresponding with Katie for over two weeks we arrived for our appointment on Saturday at noon as directed only to discover she was busy with someone else. Apparently someone had just walked in prior to our appointment and was being seen. Instead of coming to speak to us she choose to speak through someone else. We were told we were not on the schedule. I produced emails that said different. Not only was the appointment scheduled last week but it was confirmed the day before by Katie of cabinet discounters. The level of professionalism displayed is deplorable. There are too many available choices in the Northern Virginia area for me to settle. I recommend you not settle either.. I will never beg anyone to spend my money.
During our kitchen remodel, we were teamed up with Tessa Kolmus, and when I say team, I mean exactly that. Tessa was extremely professional and her knowledge of kitchen design and cabinetry was impressive. Most of all, she was patient with us, and really lead us through the process, answering our many questions and addressing our concerns.Tessa made the whole process enjoyable and actually fun. The quality of the cabinets is exceptional, from the materials, to the fit and finish. We love our new kitchen! Thanks Tessa.
We highly recommend Cabinet Discounters. We are beyond thrilled with our new kitchen cabinets and countertop! The transformation from a very dated and small, inadequate kitchen to a spacious, elegant kitchen could not have been accomplished without the guidance and recommendations made by Ms. Tessa Kolmus, Design Consultant. No walls were removed, except for the soffit above the old cabinets. The design by Ms. Kolmus more than doubled the cabinet storage space. Our neighbors and friends have remarked amazing, beautiful, gorgeous, and how did they do that! The entire project, from the design, to the selection of cabinets and countertop, through demolition and installation, was seamless, and completed in a very short period of time.We would also like to thank Paul Heckhaus, the Warehouse Manager, who coordinated the cabinets delivery to our home; Creative in Counters, who measured and installed our contertop; and Mr. Elmer Martinez, of Woodbridge, VA, our Contractor, who installed the cabinets and dishwasher and hooked up the sink. We are obviously very happy with the results!Doug and Jennifer Duncan, Rehoboth Beach, DE
My kitchen is finally updated! My house was built in 1954 and the original cabinets were there until recently! I have tons of cabinet space now! Just a great experience working with Tessa Kolmus! The delivery men on time and were courteous and kind. The counter top installers were also punctual and very nice. Just a great experience all the way around!
We had a kitchen island designed and delivered and a countertop installed onto the cabinet. Not all information about the project was shared up front. For example, we were not told there was a cost to have the cabinet installed. For us, that was a key piece of information we needed to know.
Price was not quite double what other places quoted. Cabinets were quality.
My entire experience with Cabinet Discounters was superb!!!Beginning with Lois, our wonderful design consultant...who did an excellent job of creating an amazing solution to our tiny kitchen, right through the process with all the subcontractors who did the tile, the electric, plumbing, finishing work...each one a consummate professional! VERY customer oriented, great communication during the process, what to expect, etc. When we had a problem with the grain on a special panel sent by the manufacturer, it was replaced immediately, TWICE, no hassle. A special shout-out to Ward, CDs specialty guy, who really bent over backwards to make us happy. He is meticulous! The Brighton cabinetry is super-high quality and so very beautiful and functional. Lois even suggested the hardware which wasnt even on the market yet. It was the perfect choice.Add to all this, I think it was a great value. I cant believe how much I LOVE THIS KITCHEN! WHY did I wait over 30 years to do it (other than that I couldnt afford it at the time...)?THANK YOU, Cabinet Discounters, Lois, and the whole team!
My experience with Cabinet Discounters was great. Katie Kieler was my designer, per my contractors recommendation and she was wonderful to work with. She provided me with different design options, spent time going through options with me and was extremely helpful. This is an overwhelming process and her assistance was invaluable. Delivery was timely and the cabinets met my expectations and are beautiful! I would recommend her and the company without hesitation.
I had an excellent experience with Lois. She really knew her stuff -- including lighting. I also liked quality of the cabinets; and I had looked at many other dealers, but liked quality and price at CD the best. I also really liked CDs carpentry and electrical subcontractors. I would definitely recommend CD, especially if you can work with Lois. But the process is not perfect. Understand from the onset that you will be at the mercy of CDs schedulers (In my case, that meant that work didnt begin on my kitchen for 3 months after I signed the contract -- because contractors werent available. Then, once the carpenters finished their work, there was a two week lull before the electricians and plumber returned to hook stuff up. I definitely wasnt happy about that. All work was done within the six week timeframe estimate CD gave me. But my kitchen is small. The job could have been done in three weeks if everyone worked straight through. ) Also, I would recommend that if you buy new appliances, you have your appliance dealer install them, not CD or its contractors. That might cost you a couple hundred dollars more. But if you have problems with the appliances, as I did, it will simplify having the problem rectified. (In my case, CDs plumbing and carpentry subcontractors werent of like minds as to whose job it was to install the dishwasher. At end of the day, it wasnt installed properly. Had to have CD quality control come out to fix it. And its still not right, according to GE repairman.
I had a wonderful experience working with kitchen designer, Katie Kelberg! She came up with some very good solutions to my small kitchen space and I was able to achieve the look and design that I wanted for my kitchen. She was very pleasant and professional and constantly touching base throughout the renovation process. She also check in after the cabinets were installed to find out if I was satisfied with everything. I most definitely am very satisfied! I liked that CD had more cabinet size options and better quality than other popular home stores. I definitely got more bang for my buck at Cabinet Discounters! Thank you Katie!
Our experience with Cabinet Discounters could not have been better. Katie Kieler, our designer, was extremely helpful, creative, and perceptive. The work started and ended on time, and we have enjoyed the results immensely. Nothing was left to chance, and there were no unpleasant surprises, which we understand is unusual in remodeling experiences. We would recommend Cabinet Discounters to any of our friends.
Everything went smoothly from start to finish with our kitchen demolition and remodeling. There was no pressure in making decisions early on and in fact it was a fun process working with Katie in the planning and choices! Also, there were no additional surprise charges at any point. We have gotten a lot of compliments on our new kitchen and we are very pleased with everything. I really enjoyed working with Katie Keiler at the Springfield location and would definitely recommend her and Cabinet Discounters.
My husband and I worked with Tessa Kolmus in the Springfield office on a complete kitchen remodel. She was responsive, timely, and helpful in every way. Further, her sense of design informed many of the choices we made. Later, we asked for her help on a much smaller project, and she gave the small project the same prompt attention. I would recommend Tessa and Cabinet Discounters!
The cabinets look beautiful and I am very pleased with them. The color is perfect and the modern, updated look I was going for.Thank you Katie Kelberg in your Springfield showroom for your help in designing the area and your patience in working with me. I appreciate your attention to all the details and making the remodel job go smoothly. I would recommend your service and company to everyone.
We totally redesigned our 1980s kitchen with the help of Cabinet Discounters staff designer Katie K., in the Springfield, VA showroom. Brightwood cabinets were flawless and installation went smoothly, as Katie worked closely with the carpenter, electrician, and plumber to insure that all would fit together. We spent a lot more time planning and deciding among options than it took to build the new kitchen, but Katie was patient and offered options without pressure, a major help to couples! Whether we wanted the most expensive or the least expensive options, the functionality remained the top consideration, so we now have a space where many adults can cook or hover, and traffic flows freely.
We were very pleased - Katie Kieler helped us with design, product selection, agreeing on price, and stayed in close communication with us and with the installing contractors through demo, installation, plumbing, electric, punch list and final pictures. She was very attentive to our customizations and requests and made her own very helpful suggestions in the design and product selection phase. She stayed on top of the installers and made sure everything was done right. We had a great result in a relatively tight space that demanded the most of design and selection to achieve functionality and storage and look we wanted. Pricing was very fair and much lower than many in our area - we were very satisfied and would recommend Katie and CD without reservation. Thank you!!
Cant rave enough about Lois at the Springfield Office. She was great as was everyone that worked on our kitchen remodel...the carpenter, the plumber, the electricians...they were always on time, work was completed on schedule and both the quality of the work and product were exceptional. Highly recommend them to anyone!!
As an interior designer I had a wonderful experience working with Cabinet Discounters through my clients. When it was time renovate my own kitchen working with Cabinet Discounters was a natural choice. Tessa, my salesperson is professional, knowledgeable and thorough. Customer service is excellent.
Recently did a major house renovation/addition. Cabinet Discounters were helpful and understanding about my situation. I had awesome experience from showroom to completed kitchen. Alot of prep work but it paid off!
March 2017: Cabinet Discounters just completed a total kitchen remodel for my husband and me. We worked with Designer Tessa Kolmus in theSpringfield office and were extremely pleased with the entire process. She was very professional and wonderful to work with and had excellent design ideas and suggestions, many we had not even considered, that made the entire project seem less complicated than it actually was. All of the trades (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, tile installers and laborers} were very professional, competent, courteous, neat and easy to work with and to have in our home. Tessa was on top of every detail and visited our home twice to make sure the job was going OK and on schedule. We would highly recommend Tessa and Cabinet Discounters to anyone. The quality fit and finish of all the cabinets and other products was superior. And if you choose to talk with Tessa...ask her to tell you about the highly efficient bone-crushing garbage disposal she installed for us.
I would like to write a review of our experience with Cabinet Discounters. For months before the project started I had envisioned what I wanted my kitchen to look like in my mind. I walked into Cabinet Discounters, Springfield, VA with my ideas in a folder that held tons of scraps of paper of all those ideas. From the very beginning of meeting salesperson, Katie Kieler, I knew I was in the right place. She sat with me and listened patiently as I explained what I wanted in my new kitchen. Even when I became stuck on certain details, she would give me choices that would work for my design.Soon after that first day we set up a schedule to meet in the showroom, she showed me her design for my kitchen on her computer. It was now becoming a reality. Her attention to detail from the beginning of the project until the final walkthrough was exceptional in every way.Her coordination of the carpenters, cabinet delivery, electricians, plumbers and tile setters was seamless and without incident. She came to the job sight several times to check on the progress. Every person who walked into my house was courteous, considerate and professional. I believe that because there was not one thing left undone, the whole project came to completion before schedule.I am so pleased with the end result of my dream come true. I would highly recommend Cabinet Discounters for any remodeling project you have. We will definitely be using this same company when we begin remodeling our bathrooms in the near future.
We worked with Tessa on a new vanity for our bathroom. She was patient and helpful with us through the process. The product is great and the delivery was smooth. We would use them again!
Beware of what the appliances stand on! Cabinet Discounters renovated our kitchen in 2007 and we were very pleased until we discovered that the tile under the dishwasher was not properly done. When the dishwasher broke the repairman had a hard time removing it, once it was removed we discovered that under the dishwasher was not tiled or grouted properly and to make the dishwasher level several partial pieces of tile were placed under the front of the dishwasher without grout and then a big dip where no tile was placed or grouted. Of course the new dishwasher did not cover the same area and revealed the poor workmanship. I called Lois Elliot at the end of November and she told me she would contact install. I contacted her again on December 3rd and emailed her a picture of the area. It has been over a month and I have not heard back. Needless to say we have had the area tiled properly. I understand that it has been years but the work was not done properly to begin with and it is very disappointing that not only did Cabinet Discounters not take responsibility but they ignored us.
We had a great experience with Cabinet Discounters. Tessa was our Design Consultant. She was knowledgable and easy to work with. Our new cabinets and countertops look wonderful. All of the workmen were professional and did a great job. There were a few minor problems but Tessa and the scheduling department were able to straighten everything out in short order. We highly recommend Cabinet Discounters and would use them again.
We had our second experience with Cabinet Discounters in Springfield VA. We found the products to be very good quality and all the people involved, from the showroom to the warehouse, to the installers in our home to be very professional, knowledgeable, and nice
We used Cabinet Discounters-Springfield Virginia to completely renovate and update our Kitchen. We are extremely pleased with the high quality results, as well as how smoothly the process went. Our designer, Lois Elliot, was a pleasure to work with. Her attention to detail and patience in explaining the pros and cons of various options was invaluable as she educated us and guided us through the decision making process. She drew up detailed plans for all the different components of the project and assisted us in making all of the selections, including the tile and granite which were purchased from different suppliers. Lois was always calm, professional and prepared. During the design process, she brought in the carpenter to verify that some of the structural changes desired would be feasible at reasonable cost.Once the design was approved, and the granite, lighting and tile were selected, we got handed off to the installation team who provided us with a day-by-day schedule. We were impressed that our project started on exactly the day it was scheduled to start. However, we were even more impressed that the project was completed on exactly the day it was scheduled for completion, despite the fact that the five week timeframe included the Thanksgiving holidays! The final cost was also exactly what we were expecting. The end result was a beautiful, highly functional kitchen that feels much more open and has substantially more usable, convenient storage space. The workmanship for the tiling, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry was all first rate. In addition, Cabinet Discounters as an organization came through when the unexpected occurred. When our tile person had to go out of country, they were able to line up some one else to fill in his place between Christmas and New Year’s. When we had the power go out on our refrigerator late on a Saturday night, the electricians were notified and on the phone with us within the hour working through the process. We were very impressed with the organization’s ability to track and follow through on issues. The bottom line is that we are very happy customers who are enjoying our up-to-date, attractive, functional kitchen! When we have another remodeling project, we will be sure to contact Lois at Cabinet Discounters to help us again.
We recently did a major house renovation/addition. We used cabinet discounters for our kitchen and bath cabinets and countertops. The entire experience was a dream! We worked exclusively with one sales rep, Tessa. She amazed us with her ideas and knowledge of all the products and layout options that would best suit our needs. She took on-site messurements and worked directly with our contractor to insure a smooth installation. Our project was completed Oct 2012 and we are thrilled with the style we choose as well as the quality. Thanks you Tessa for making our home so beautiful.
Bought Cabinets.. They were fine… I needed extra trim and a cabinet support broke from shipping, after 2 years of trying to get them to replace it and get more molding I gave up...
A total waste of time & very disappointing. My husband & I made an appointment with a sales person at Cabinet Discounters in Springfield just over a month ago and we still havent received an estimate on the work we wanted. We wasted 2 hours in the showroom, did measurements & drawings & sent pictures of our kitchen. I sent several emails with still no estimate & 2 lame responses from the guy. My last email went unanswered. I wouldnt give one star to this business.
Last summer while undergoing repairs to our dining room and laundry room we decided it would be a good opportunity to also update our kitchen, a project we had discussed for some time. We had admired the kitchen remodeling that CD had done for a neighbor of ours, Barbara Skinner. We went to the Springfield showroom and met with Katie Kelberg who showed us a number of cabinets and we were impressed with the cherrywood cabinets by Brighton Cabinetry, and with the design developed by Katie. After comparing with cabinetry and designs from other stores, we chose CD as offering the best value.Katie did a wonderful job of listening to our desire to have a more open kitchen with increased storage space that met our interest in having a comfortable and attractive entertainment area. She met with us on several occasions to discuss our ideas, had many great suggestions (including a built-in wine rack, glass cabinets, and under-cabinet lighting & electrical outlets); and created a floor plan and cabinet design that met our needs perfectly. She also assisted us in choosing complementary granite counters, floor tile, and backsplash, which enhanced the look and style of the cabinets. The CD installers were excellent craftsman and easy to work with. When glitches arose in the process, as they always do in a remodeling project, they came up with creative solutions to resolve them. Particularly helpful was Ward, a master carpenter who worked with us to replace cabinet doors that did not meet the design intent to create an entertainment center within the cabinets.
Service is over after they make the sale. Felt like Go away, you bother me was about as good a service as I was going to get, so I stopped trying. Ended up with about the same quility cabinet I would have gotten at Lowes with zero support after the sale.
Im just writing about your website. It does not let me know what styles you have available nor how much they cost. They dont induce me to come to the showroom. I think Ill stick with Lowes.
