This shop was really nice and the salesperson was incredibly friendly. They had an arcade in the back but we came in for minis and dice. Their mini collection was actually impressive especially compared to the area and the prices were very good. All in all, a very nice place.❤ Also that giant horn/trophy thing in the front was awesome.

We come here all the time to buy dice (best selection in the city might I add, keep it up!) All of the staff members we have dealt with have always been kind, great local business and always have events going in and a nice game area in the back.

Huge LGS with an entire show room dedicated to playing table top games, and pinball. Great staff and the cheapest prices on single cards I have ever seen, often matching or even less that TCGplayer. Commander night on Wednesdays have become a weekly event for me, and I love going. Very big selection, and everything is clean and orderly. Great store, great community, and great prices.

A very welcoming staff and environment. The chandler is made up of mtg cards and they had a gorgeous display of all their cards and other shop items. Their main focus was mtg, d&d, and 40k warhammer. They had plenty of modle and figurines I loved the place.

From cards to boardgames they have everything, even a massive open area to play games with friends.

Really cool game shop, we have bought tons of stuff there during the pandemic to keep ourselves entertained but we were shopping here for several years before that and we will be so glad when things have settled down and we can go back to playing board games with large groups here every week.

I used to like this store a lot. Unfortunately unless youre into MTG its lacking in all other aspects especially in variety or miniatures unless its D&D or Warhammer. Warmachine/Hordes Hass fallen to the wayside, Infinity has a couple rule books and nothing else, other miniature games are in such small quantities. Just Sadness.

Great place for all things game related

Ive been coming to this store off and on for 19 years. Ever since they were located on Glenstone. I have a severe heart condition that keeps me from wearing a mask. I was just ejected from here for my medical condition. Enjoy the letter from my attorney.Edit: in response to the owners response. The local city council order which on its face is unconstitutional, says specifically unless that person has a medical condition that does not allow them to wear a mask. The Americans with disabilities act specifically states that all businesses must accommodate any persons medical condition. My attorney is drafting up the necessary documents as we speak. Masking, which does absolutely nothing and the data from the cdc its self supports that statement, is not what kept me from entering your business. You screaming at me to leave and when I said I had a medical condition screaming you didnt care and to get out, is what kept me from entering your business. No wonder you keep having to downsize locations.

Very nicely laid out and organized by type of game. Great selection of high-quality board games, an ample pre-owned games, and good selection of games to play to try out. They even have Frisbee golf disks. The staff was laid-back and very helpful when asked.

It was a pretty neat place if you are into gaming. Those guys really know their stuff. I found it interesting that they have an entire back room set aside for gamers. People werent buying stuff. They were just playing and having a great time. Everyone was so friendly and helpful to this newbie. I had no idea what they were doing and some of them took the time to explain the rules and objectives of the game they were playing. Great place to go weather you need to pick up a new deck or just want to meet some nice people.

Stood in a store with one other persons who was looking through a box of sleeved cards. It took 10 minutes for staff to speak or me. When I asked if I could look through a box of cards, like the other person was. I was told I could use the computer system to look up what I wanted.

Amazing place to go have some good quality fun. Great place to take the kids to play some board games. Also they have tons of different card games to play as well as sanctioned events for different games. They also support the local economy! Great group of guys running the place.

I love this place and the people who work here. Theres one gentleman I always get amazing detailed reviews from and if I see him I know Im leaving with what I want. Honestly Im sure I could get some things cheaper elsewhere but I would much rather support them than I big chain. If you havent been in Id definitely recommend it.

This is one of the best gaming stores I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Great selection of board games and role playing games and materials. Comfortable gaming room in the back with plenty of space. I do wish there was some more of the older, used materials for sale though.

Such an amazing place

Traded in a fairly decent size collection after having not been there for several years. They still had my trade-in account in their system. The two gentlemen behind the counter were great conversationalists while I waited for my trade in to be valued. Given a very good price, as well as great instructions on how to start a new RPG system Id asked about. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

I like the selection they have. Granted, theyve downsized their selection of books (which isnt cool), but have grown their selection of miniatures and board games (which I enjoy). There are also arcade games in their large back room, along with several tables for groups to game at or build at. The staff are nice and polite and Ive never had problems, even when going in and just looking around.

Went in to expand the books I have for 5e. I didnt want to wait for online shipping. They gave me a really good deal on 4 5e books and 3 sets of dice. The money I saved made it just a hair above online offers. For in person shopping nothing tops this place. Very kind staff and I will without a doubt return.

Nice looking store, spacious. I can see the appeal if you participate in competitions. Mainly just a store for miniatures and MTG. They only sell singles for MTG. They sell an okay amount of unique board games. Would be 3-stars, but man, the pricing is incredibly high.

A fun atmosphere and they have loaner games to play if youre coming just to hang out play some games with some friends.

Great staff came in asked about a deal they used to do like 5 years ago. they dont do that deal anymore but hooked me up with a 1000 random mtg cards for a good price. in place of the old grab bag deals they used to do. also vary knowledgeable of warhammer and citadel paints.

MetaGames is the best place for all RPG books and supplies in Springfield. Their selection of miniatures is particularly impressive, as well as Citadel paints. The prices are fairly reasonable as well. Great for veteran players to amp up their experience and new players to start building their collection.

I like Meta, the staff is always nice to us and will go out of their way to educate or find anything for ya if not in the store. My only complaint is no reflection on the business itself, but sometimes the clientele can be pretentious, but I find it amusing. We visit several times a week.

Helpful and answered questions accurately

This is one of the largest hobby game shops in the country. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Whether you are a Magic card player, board game enthusiast, or a war game miniatures fan, this store has the selection and gaming space to make your stop worthwhile. I especially enjoy the custom tables for gaming they keep in their gaming spaces.

If I invented a time machine I would do two things: 1) Kill Hitler, because thats never gone wrong and 2) Go back and tell myself that I need to check this place out much sooner than I did. Why? They let you try games. They have a massive gaming hall. Also Im originally from the Internet, we have a lot of games where Im from--and yet these guys had several Ive never heard of that looked like a blast. Their prices seemed reasonable too--you can probably find better on the internet in a lot of cases (Im sure theyve never heard that one before), but the extra you pay really does go towards a better shopping experience. Definitely a place Ill be going back to again--time machine or no.

Heres the bottom line. These guys care and they do a great job at making playing games fun . . . there are other places you could go but why would you? MGU has space, staff that know and love the products, clean atmosphere, and a variety of events going on every day!
