Went to get the labor day weekend specials. Picked up corn on the cob. The sign matched the sale at 10 ears for $2.00. When we got to the checkout, they rang up at 4 ears for $2.00. We told the cashier that the sign at the corn said 10 for $2.00. She said that was not correct. She said the correct price was 4 for $2.00. We said we only wanted $2.00 worth, so she took the other ears off the bill. When we got home, I checked the sales circular. It seems the cashier had been putting in the wrong code. There was a prepackaged product that was 4 for $2.00. The corn we got was 10 for $2.00. That also explains why she had a couple of other bags of corn there that other customers didnt want when they saw her price. I called customer service & let them know what was happening so that they could speak with the cashier. It turns out that she is one of their newer cashiers. She just needs the correct information.

I came in here this evening because I wanted to check out the brand new location. I guess it shouldnt be considered brand new because the been open for six months already. What a huge change compared with he previous location. This place is considerably larger than what they had before. Even better is the Starbucks located inside of the store. I came in here to create an awesome salad from the salad bar. Unfortunately though my plans were shattered because the salad bar is still closed due to the virus. Nevertheless, the deli was nearby, and I decided to get a half pound of Greek pasta salad. Its not the most healthiest choice, but it beats fast food. In addition to the pasta salad, I grabbed a bottled water. I headed straight to the self checkout and made it out of the store as quickly as I came in. Perhaps I didnt give it enough time to experience the new grocery store, but I had hunger on my mind first. I will for sure come back in a few days to take care of some real shopping!

A new store where you seem to have unlimited choices for everything on your shopping list. Clean and bright with aisles well marked so you can easily find whatever youre looking for.

I love this new bigger Giant!! If you dont find everything you need then there is something wrong.

This is the best Giant I have ever been to. Starbucks inside. Huge selection of food. Very little wait to check out. Redbox inside. Good customer service at their service desk. Prices are still way too high.

Its spacious, its new, but still carries familiar items. Still prefers to shop next door; the Trader Joes.

Brand new Giant opened in same parking lot as the old Giant in what was previously Kmart. New store has a nicely updated design, wide aisles and new features like a sushi bar. Larger selection of food than the previous location. Starbucks and PNC bank are also located inside.

The store is really nice and clean staff is nice specially manager Rupi she is very helpful i wish i can give more star to the store and staff

This location at Springfield Plaza is a new store. Its beautiful and well organized, with an in-house Starbucks. I love shopping there.

This is a very nice, clean Giant which I appreciate but the customer service is lacking. I have had numerous issues with the POS system at self checkout despite using different debit cards. I’ve made this issue known to management but I feel like they don’t understand or care.

First time in the new store located in the former Kmart location. Wider aisles and better lighting plus additional products make this an inviting place to shop.

I went the food court area and got the Mediterran wrap. The girl asked if I wanted cooked. I said yes. Mind you I was on my lunch break so when I got my food got to my car heading to work to eat my food. I was so disappointed because the outside was warm but the inside was ice ice cold not warm at all, so I had go back to work and my lunch break over, had to heat it later and then eat. very disappointed. will not order this again plus there was so much chicken and hardly any peppers or what ever was supposed to be in it. Should have just be called a chicken wrap.

Great upgrade from the old location.

The brand new store is fantastic. It’s so much more modern, with every shelf on every isle lit, self checkout lanes that are separate from the express self checkout, nicely expanded sections, and overall easily laid out.Though I don’t bank with PNC Bank, the convenience of having it in the store, as well as Starbucks being inside the store, greatly add convenience to a grocery trip.I’m not sure if the management has changed with the location shift, but just as at the previous building, the employees are always lovely and seem genuinely friendly.

This is my go to Giant since they moved. Ive been telling all my Co workers about the wide selection they now have. I love it!

The man that works at the deli is extremely helpful. I’m pregnant, and he kindly asked me if he could get me a cart instead of the basket I had. He also came around the counter to deliver my meats/cheeses. Above & beyond generosity and care for customers. I’ll get his name next time!!

The pharmacy service is really terrible, I asked them a question and the male pharmacist didn’t even look at me, then I tried to ask the female pharmacist but she just ignored me and she was just laughing at me with the male pharmacist. Very Very Bad!

I had an awesome, enthusiastic experience this evening in your store. L.V. went above normal customer service to peruse the aisles to locate a chocolate cream pie for my friend who turned 26 today. Unfortunately We couldnt find any so I went to plan B. Ok, can we I try a cake. He guided me so well, that the Oreo topped cake ROCKED her birthday! Soraya stopped me on my way out of the store and asked if I would like I box for the flowers I had gotten for my mom. I didnt even think of a box and was praying I didnt mess them up on the way home. If that isnt exceptional service I dont know what is. Thank you!

Just went to new giant in Springfield plaza. Store looks beautiful, BUT service needs a lot of work went to deli and there was 5 people working in deli doing their own things no customer in line and nobody asked me if I needed help. I’ve been a giant customer for a very long time BUT I will not return to this giant Needs a lot of customer service work. Everybody looks at you like you are imposing on them.

Greatest Giant Food in 10 miles perhaps.

First time going the new Giant. The store is huge with much more to offer. Enjoyed the shopping experience.

Much improved since my last visit, which was several years ago. Clean, well stocked with variety and organized. Customers were wearing masks and social distancing. An associate was sanitizing carts as they were emptied.

This is a nice, new, and clean-er Giant. Variety is impressive. Prices can be high compared to Aldi and Lidl. Parking competes with local Trader Joes folks.

Clean and super friendly staff when we stopped in. Also gave us very good suggestion for late night pizza. Good folks will stop again n3xt time I am in the springfield area.

This Giant is always clean, employees are helpful, carts always are disinfected after use. Prepared foods, beer, and wine sections are well stocked. Good overall experience for your basic grocery store.

This new Giant is directly across from Trader Joes in Springfield plaza. Though the store has a huge selection i looked for pasture raised eggs and didnt see any. The trader joe has Carols pasture raised eggs for a little over 3 bucks. Its the only egg which is beneficial to body. I looked for Kerrygold grassfed butter in giant. It was 4.59. Traders has for a little over 3 bucks. I did find a large greek unsweetened yogurt but most yogurt options were loaded with sugars. There were plenty of soda aisles and snack aisles. Prices were quite high with a few loss leaders to lure you in store. Theres a wholefoods further away on old keene mill that carries far better fresh organic fruits and vegetables for better prices. Prices were similar to other Giant stores which in my opinion are way overpriced. I assume people have not compared to other stores like Whole Foods or Trader Joes which have quality organics or other stores like Aldi or Walmart which have much better prices.wholefiids on oldkeenemill that carr

Always fresh produce (although smaller selection of other stores). Seafood is excelllent with lots of choices. Go to store location when out of anything needed from my pantry.

First trip to new store. Store brand turkeys, out of stock. Green leaf lettuce, out of stock. Heineken Light, not available(whaaaat?). As is usual for Giant, no interest in what people really want, in favor of whatever their vendors decide to stock on the shelves. “Mourning the death of the neighborhood grocery store 😞”

Crowded, poorly organized, and so-so prices. As far as regular grocery stores, now that bad for the area though. I wish theyd move to the old K-Mart spot so theyd have more room.

Crowded with shoppers in a rush to get their food and get out. Every one was in a rush. The aisles were full of shoppers, but the shelves were also full. The cashiers did their job in getting the line moving as there were no long lines. That was awesome.

An old location. Not very crowded when I went and everything was orderly and the staff was friendly. The store is not as clean looking because its old and has not been updated but no reason to now shop here when in need.

This is a smallish Giant grocery surrounded by Trader Joes, Aldi and Lidl. The K-Mart in this plaza has closed and Giant is moving into their building. Itll be pretty big when that happens.

I grew up with giant does the nearest grocery store. Theres nothing special about it. Its okay. It is on the more affordable side these days

One of the best Giant Ive been to. The cashier are extremely friendly and they always greeted their customer. The food selection and everything are at a very good price, and I highly recommend shopping at this giant. Though I would avoid the one at Old Keene Mill Rd as the cashier there tend to talk down on their customers and treat people as if they owe the employees.

The western union line is always so long. If i come at night and see the Asian girl do the western union, i know it will be quicker. They need more people at the customer service. I always see her running around the self check out, answer phone call, sell lottery and send western union. They need train more ppl like that girl

Customers service was very good. We had no problem returning a food item ( unopened) we purchased an hour ago (we bought too many) with a receipt.

I went in there today to order a Western Union Money Order and the process went seemleesly. My information is already in their system, which definitely helps. I can remember just a few years ago when you would have to fill out a long Western Union Form. Not today, if you have ordered a Western Union once at Giant, you are already I. Their system. Very convenient!

Decent enough as far as grocery stores go. Each time we have been in there is a security guard up front, which is always concerning. The people that check are usually very young and social with each other, but not us as customers.

Every time I come and get lottery tickets or any small service good customer service mostly from 60% of the employees but here is a guy I think on his name tag had José mayorga he think he owns the place rude and bad manners always see treating the co workers like slaves sorry but I call it like it’s but I see different treatment with a good looking females I think when you working on a company like giant is equal treatment with any customer we kind of got in to but I didn’t want to make it a big deal but the way he talk to me as a customer I didn’t think and then see how he treated other people kind of make me do this review another words he think is the owner I hope they talk to the other employees and verify and corrected

Today, March 29, 2018 I went food shopping at this location in Springfield Plaza. It was classic Springfield, rude patrons, and rude Giant employees. Started with the cart man, I asked if there were any smaller carts around, I received a blank face, “no more” without making eye contact. Inside the Giant employees were rude, walk in front of you without an excuse me or hello, or anything. The Deli and seafood men were friendly and helpful. The “security” man was so rude, walking the store on his phone almost stepping on my foot without a I apologize, or hello, just another blank stare. It’s the Walking Dead of food stores. Then came check out, one of the lady’s that has a bad grasp of bagging your food placed oranges on top of bread along with a glass jar of pickles....do people understand basics like heavy products smash items like bread?? It’s so sad. It’s either the cultural differences that encourage rudeness incorporating the Giant culture of seemingly treating their employees like morons. When the corporate employees are visiting the store I hear them speaking with the employees like they are subhuman. The store is dirty, the ever changing inconsistency of having products from one week to the next. It’s sad. Classic Springfield, the best of the worst are represented in this store. The manager has blinders on topped with a bad attitude. If you want to take a trip down rude behavior, go food shopping at this location, you will not be disappointed.

I met an old friend in use work with when I was working for Giant good customer service and very friendly just remember it not the store its the people that make it work.

The people are great and they all need raises. But their morale is in the toilet. That is completely the fault of the parent company. They watch them with cameras and have undercover people come in and report on them. The employees are like scared sheep now. The pricing is erratic and it sometimes seems like they throw big price bumps in just to test the market. Their fruit prices are the worst followed by their meats and deli items. I do have to say that chicken breasts will occasionally go on sale for a decent price. But that seems to be less often over the past year. The latest irk was a bump of the fresh flowers pricing for Valentines Day. That is just bad form. Another thing that might be industry wide is the amount of food they throw away but refuse to give to needy people/organizations. That is criminal. Basically it is just sad how the employees have been beaten down. I can still remember when they had enough staff to help customers and run registers. Now there are so few folks that trying to get help is obviously taking them away from some other productivity metric. You can see it when you talk to them. I recommend Wegmans. They have innumerable people trained in their area who will spend the time to help you with a product you may be interested in but not be familiar with. The feeling you get from the employees and the customers is that they kinda actually enjoy being there. My biggest issue with Wegmans is the crowds. Sorry Giant.

Great store. Watch out for their gluten free section as it has items that are natural, but filled with the gluten protein.

There should be more non self checkout counters. Going through self checkout is not good especially if Giant personnel are not responsive to such counters. When youre having trouble thats when they disappear.

Im not going to Giant anymore. The stores literally smell of spoiled food, the produce is old, the prices are expensive, and the service is poor. A few good employees but most are unhelpful and poorly trained in customer service. Sorry. I gave them a fair shot but not anymore.

Average. Not the most helpful staff, but pleasant enough. The selection isnt very good, probably because the space is a little small. Its OK in a pinch.
