I’ve been meaning to stop at this place for a long time now. Unlike a lot of places in Central Pennsylvania they have their humidors turned on! Great atmosphere with plenty of seats to relax and enjoy a smoke. Next time when I’m not in a rush I’ll hangout for a while. Plenty of selection and it’s close to the parking garage.

Well equipped, appointed, and staffed with helpful and knowledgable individuals (even at 6:30PM on a Saturday night). Thoroughly pleased with my experience and will make a point of stopping in State College for another round even if it requires a detour to visit!

What a great place to slow down and enjoy a cigR and good company. Last night was a small Suped Boal party Nd the management went out of their way to make it a PLATINUM level experience. 5 stars are NOT enough!

Ive been 3-4 times, sometimes Ill smoke a cigar and sometimes Ill bring my pipe and purchase a couple sodas. But the last time I went the staff (I dont think he was the owner) made a comment saying that its customary to purchase a cigar to use the lounge. So now Im confused and left a little disheartened.

Stopped in on a whim looking for some pipe tobacco, was pleasantly surprised. Try the house “Fireside” aromatic if that’s the type you smoke, very smooth with no bite, sure hope they ship cause I’m about out!

I moved to the State College area at end of 2018 and have been coming to the Cigar Den for about two months now. Tony, the owner, his staff as well as many regulars have welcomed me in like I’m family and have been coming here for years. There is a reason this place is voted #1 in customer service in State College. Every employee treats the customer who buys 3 cigars the same as the customer who buy 3 boxes. The person who comes in gift shopping and knows nothing about cigars is treated with the same courtesy as the cigar aficionado. The 12 days of Christmas were awesome. Tony lines up reps from some of the best brands in the industry with sweet deals, giveaways and free food. There are always fun events on the calendar and something new to look forward to; not to mention regular trivia nights on Mondays. The selection of cigars is fantastic; I have come to discover new favorite brands such as Archetype that I otherwise never would have known about. Their house brand of Nittany Cigars are also very tasty. The venue is extremely clean, well lit, with lots of comfortable seating for individuals or groups. To sum it up, go to the Cigar Den and you will meet a diverse group folks from all walks of life who respect each other and just share the common love of cigars.

The people and community here are great! Get to know some of the regulars, you never know who youll make friends with! Tony is so hospitable and the staff is very helpful. Awesome shop in downtown State College. Great selection of cigars with a small pipe and pipe tobacco selection as well as some premium handroll tobacco selection. The lounge was nice with a decent amount of seating. Will go again when I am in the State College area.

Was in town for an event and looking for a nice place to relax and hang out for the night. Accidentally stumbled across the Cigar Den, after a friend had recommended it in passing, so I decided to stop in. Good prices and had a great time chatting with some of the locals who were very friendly. Cant wait to go back for a visit!

Love this place. Comfortable smoking setting full of newcomers and regulars alike. Im in at least once a week and Tony (the owner) always has a new smoke for me. The atmosphere is awesome, mixing that old cigar-store feel with a modern taste of leather couches and flatscreens. Also has a better selection of both cigars and pipe tobacco than Ive seen in many other stores. I give Your Cigar Den my serious recommendation.

Im amending my review to 3 stars based on the sole fact he reached out to me asking if he could win my business back and telling me of the updates and improvements hes made/planning to make to the establishment.Ill further update this review when I have the opportunity to visit again (hopefully soon) and will update with my experience.** ORIGINAL REVIEW **Just having moved to State College, I went to Your Cigar Den to see what it was like compared to what I had grown accustomed to in Charlotte, NC. Upon entering, I could tell that the ventilation systems were sub par. A thick haze of cigar smoke hung about the room with only 4 people smoking at the time. The store is small, the entirety of it being a smoking lounge as well, but the selection was less than I was expecting. They only had house blends for pipe tobacco (the main reason I was going there) and even they were lacking. Their selection of cigars seems decent, but as primarily a pipe smoker, they had very little to offer me. I purchased a 2 oz. bag of their Fireside blend and while checking out, I inquired to the owner about use of the lounge space, and if outside blends were allowed. His response was a curt: You can only smoke here if you buy it here. This was a major turn off for me. I have a rather extensive cellar of tobacco built up and having to buy their sub par blends to use the lounge space was the main reason I will not be returning to the establishment.

Its a great mix of business owners, professionals, grad students and students. Perfect place to relax and read, or engage in conversation.And, of course, a vast selection of cigars, tobaccos & awesome gifts!

Ever since it opened, Ive been buying my cigars from Your Cigar Den. They offer excellent advice, great conversation, and stand behind their products. Can you get cigars cheaper online? Maybe, but, theres nothing like a the atmosphere provided there, and the selection is second to none. Ive shopped at cigar retailers up and down the east coast, and while some were just as good, Ive never been to a better one. Its also getting hard to find a place to smoke these days, and you can always light up your purchase right there in the shop.

I have been coming to the cigar den for over a year now and I can say with certainty it is one of if not the best cigar shop I have ever been too. The environment is very welcoming and the staff helpful. If you are a fan of cigars I highly recommend the cigar den.

If you are new to the cigar and pipe smoking world this is the place to visit! The ownership and staff even some of the regulars are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. Tony and his gang are the best and get how to do customer service a long with fun educational events happening all the time.

Tony is sociable, entertaining and creates a homey environment for his customers. He holds events and classes, that are usually catered, to keep the community engaged. My husband and I go frequently for a cigar and somehow end up with Scotch or Bourbon in our hand along with a nice smooth cigar.

First off, I want to say that the business should be ashamed it is diluting ratings by putting its OWN ratings of itself online! Check the review below mine and its user name!Ive been to this place over a dozen times in the past few years. Heres my thoughts:----1) Selection----Pretty good. Lots of good brands, but the stock in general isnt that large. The cigars are kept in large cabinet humidors vs. something bigger like a walk-in humidor. The vitolas supplied are either fairly small or pretty large, not much in between. They also sell pipe tobacco and flavored cigars which is a nice touch.----2) Prices----The prices here are horrible for PA. Back home in the Philly area I can find the same cigars for $1-2 less. It is somewhat insulting that they can raise prices so high simply because they are the only place in State College that sells premium cigars. Accessory prices are high too.----3) Staff----From what I understand, there are 3 staff members: The owner, his wife, and another staff member. The owner is fairly friendly, but has been fairly condescending to my questions and comments. His wife and the other staff member are very friendly and warm. Perhaps the owner is better with older customers rather than college students.----4) Location----The location of the shop is rather odd. It is in an alley way between Fraser and Allen Streets. I had a really hard time finding it my first time round.----5) Lounge----The shop has 2 lounges. The first is in the main area with a large table and lounge chairs. Very nice. The second is a living room-type area. I havent been in it but it looks nice.Additionally, the shop also has cigar lockers which I assume you can rent. Im not sure.Overall, if you want some cigars, this is your only choice, but I try to avoid it these days. If your an older customer, you may enjoy this shop because older patron do seem to be enjoying themselves each time I visit.

Your Cigar Den is a great local place for anyone in the State College area. Throughout the week they hold various events, which always seems to come with sales on cigars. On top of that, the atmosphere fits any feel - whether you wanted to relax with a cigar or get together with friends. This is a great place to study for students, the selection is great you wont find a bad stick in the shop, the staff is friendly and so willing to help. The place has multiple lounges for places to sit and relax and the customers are all friendly. The community aspect the place holds is unlike anything else!

The staff here has always been very friendly and helpful, and its a very relaxed atmosphere. The prices are a little below average for some products and about par for the course for some of the more specialty items. My only complaint is that theyre not open on Sundays.

Good selection but humidors are not consistent. Purchased several cigars there on a fishing trip in May and most of them unwrapped from being so dry. Didn’t have that problem last year.

Hands down best place to chill wit friends and for some real talk. The staff and owner is super friendly, Ive never done cigar but they helped me learned about it pretty quickly. Love this place.

If you are in State College and like cigars this is a must visit place. Great selection of cigars, house brand of Nittany’s is tasty and they carry harder to find cigars like Liga and Davidoff. But the primary reason for 5* is the staff. They are some of the nicest and most knowledgeable people. The cigar lounge is spotless and classy. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

They carry a wide variety of premium cigars across all price ranges, suitable for any cigar smoker, whether you are looking for something special or an everyday smoke. They also sell a nice selection of bulk and tinned pipe tobaccos and offer guests two lounges and high-speed Wi-Fi if you want to enjoy a stick or two while you work. The staff member I spoke to tonight was knowledgeable and helpful in finding what I was looking for. Though they didnt have the exact vitola of a particular cigar, I was pointed towards a something similar in the same line.

I too have had bad experiences with this store in the past. HOWEVER the store has very recently been bought and a lot of changes are occurring. The shelves are full of cigars, the staff and clientele are friendly and helpful. In addition to this theres a new TV in the back as well as one installed in the front room. If youve had a bad experience in the past Id definitely recommend going back now. We Are!

My worst experience at a cigar store! As soon as my friends and i entered the store we were struck with smug glances and extremely unwelcoming attitude from the owner. I proceeded to ask him a question about a particular cigar. He belittled me and was very rude with his pompous remarks. He then proceeded to yell at my friends who were minding their own business. The situation was escalated by them very rapidly and concluded with the owners wife yelling at us, saying that they didnt need us as we left the building.

Tony, the new owner of this cigar shop in downtown State College is a great guy and is pouring his passion AND money for cigars into this established shop. He has placed a digital Hydrometer in every cigar case and takes time every day to be sure the cigars in each display humidor is properly maintained. It’s nice to be able to go into a cigar shop and be able to pick out a cigar, sit down in the comfortable chairs in the lounge and smoke a cigar that is ready to smoke, that is, moist enough to smoke right there. This store had some problems maintaining a high enough humidity, Tony is aware of that and is on top of it.Tony has bought a LOT of new stock, has a great selection of cigar lighters and other accessories. If you dont have a lot of money, he has some of his own brand cigars for $5 each that are very flavorful and not too strong. They are medium body cigars.Tony has been trying to stock some of the cigars that were in the top 25 cigars of the year in Cigar Aficionado, Excellent! I was able to try the number one pick for this past issues list. He had the Oliva Grand V Grand Reserve Melanio. He had the same size that was reviewed in CA, and also a smaller size that was less expense and perfect for someone that wanted to taste it but did not want to spend big bucks on it. This cigar is smooth, not at all harsh. It’s great to be able to taste top of the line cigars without having to buy a box.The prices are about 10 percent off the retail price, so it’s less expensive than under the previous owner with a much better selection in various price ranges.There is an event the 3rd Thursday of every month in the early evening. I was not aware of that until I stopped in yesterday. There is a cigar industry guest every month and that could mean a few sample cigars and a nice social event with your peers.Give this place a try. Now THIS is the way to run a cigar shop.

Dont like the owner, told me I was a druggie because I was buying lighter fluid.Was hostile on the phonecall confirming they had a specific brand. Then when I walked in with casual jeans/tshirt looked at me with very strong disdain. I politely asked for the specific brand of butane and he was agressively implying that people huff it and I was obviously going to huff it.I attempted to stay neutral just trying to purchase it as it was a recommended brand for the lighter. But he refused, I cursed at him out of anger and left.Store looks cleans and organized, owner is small-minded.

I have always and will always love this home away from home for me. The new owner is a genuine class act both friendly and knowledgable...plus he really seems to want your business, large or small.There are multiple lounging areas within the shop and no matter how many are in there, everyone makes you feel welcome and are always happy to make room for more -- be it in front of one of the two giant flat screen TVs to just veg out and enjoy your premium cigar, or around the main table enjoying fine byob liquor and stimulating conversation with the other patrons and employees.The cigar selection seems to have expanded lately with Alec Bradley, Liga Privada and many new Oliva facings recently added ... among others too numerous to count! Everything else; the humidors, lighters and other various accessories seems to have expanded -- all in all the store is quite well stocked for all of your premium tobacco needs!Regarding air quality, which always seems an issue in these local retail shoppes that allow you to light up there and hang out. I was at the grand re-opening earlier this month with what had to be over 40 people in the shop smoking at once...and with the new ventilation system and the doors open, it was amazingly comfortable inside and managed to say for over 3 hours enjoying the good smokes, tasty food, and generous libations... And most importantly the breathable air!All in all if you are in the market for anything tobacco and find yourself in the State College area, I highly recommend you stop by; you wont be disappointed!
