Better than expected. Well stocked and comparable to the big box stores. The employees are friendly and helpful.

Had an excellent experience here. Staff is very knowledgeable and happy to give advice about what products are best, not just what they can sell thats the most expensive. Truly the place with the helpful hardware folks!

Prices are a little high but the staff is helpful and it beats waiting for the mail. Selection is reasonable considering the size of the store, the spread is pretty good. Would recommend if you need something in a pinch. Metric bolt selection could be better. All around my first choice over Lowes or Home Depot.

Was very disappointed that vaccinated people are still asked to were a mask in the store, i can go anywhere else in this town mask free. Will be spreading the word and taking my business elsewhere, the business im in i speak to 200-300 people weekly, bravo ACE

Had the same experience as Rob with the staff and masks. Had no issue with Milesburg location. Will not spend another dime in the state college store.

I love the local flavor of the store and their prices are usually competitive. The staff is always willing to help and can quickly point you to what youre looking for. I would much rather go here and support my local hardware store than wander around lost in a big box store

I like this place for sudden need for home. Got some stuff on sale. But one item was overpriced, had to return as I got the same item from walmart for half price! Overall service is great!

As someone who works here it is a really great place to work. They also have a great variety of items for a little store.

They had everything I wanted, with a friendly cashier, who helped carry the heavy things!

The atmosphere is welcoming. The staff is friendly and willing to help. The store is clean and organized. We enjoyed our visit for the few items we needed and picked up some other items that were not on our list too!

Definitely my first choice in hardware stores. As others have mentioned, they may not have the widest selection, but they have at least one of everything you need. When it comes to plumbing fittings they actually have pvc parts that you cant find at Home Depot. The staff is friendly and almost like family after many years of shopping there weekly. Finally, for convenience they cant be beat.

Recently shopped here for some hardware items, having been a customer for a long time, Myself I wore a mask, my son because of health reasons couldnt wear a mask, he was confronted my a young snotty brat of a clerk arguing with him about not wearing a mask, without a chance to explain himself, this ignorant clerk berated my son, finally we had enough of this confrontation we walked out, never going back because of the way we were treated, Grant you lost a long time customer

They have exactly what you need and you dont have to walk for miles in the store. The folks who work there know where it is immediately. Great rewards benefits.

My experience shopping here was cut short. The owner was talking politics and announced anyone that disagreed with him were not welcome in the store. Knowing I disagreed with him, I left. It is a shame that I cant go buy items for my home without being disparaged by the owner while minding my own business.

I was in and out in a matter of minutes thanks to great service provided by Dan! He effortlessly helped my mom and I find the 3 things we were looking for and was extremely friendly. I will definitely be going back to Ace for anything hardware related thanks to Dan!

Scott really knows mattresses and is so friendly and helpful! We looked at every mattress store in the area, and none could compare to his prices, value, and expertise. We’ve bought three mattresses from him—wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Reminds me so much of my old go to hardware store - Centre Hardware (no longer in business). Its just like they transferred all the great customer service to a new location (and in one case they have!)

Really nice staff always greets you and askes mat they help. Also helps when not really knowing what u need they help figure it out. Only thing is the are kinda small located in a shopping mall and parking is usually always way down.

I have been to this Ace Hardware several times because it was easy to get to and had a good selection. I went in yesterday to get a key made and the store was near empty so it was easy to get service. I was met by two men who were willing to help me with my problem. I showed them the key that I had and also the key that i had and wanted cut. I was told by one of the men that he could cut the key i had but he would not guarantee the work. So, I told them that i would hold off and have the dealership take care of it. This is when the rant started. The older of the two men criticized the fact that i bought the key online saying that i was robbing another business of money when in reality i was trying to save my family money. He then went on to tell me that it costs a lot of money to purchase the cutting machine and i said well Ace has the money to do that. He told me that he was the owner of the store and that he had to buy the machine. For a few minutes after he continued to tell me why i was wrong to buy my key the way I did and to give me a hard time. Finally, I asked him if this was the way he treated all his customers and he gave a quick apology but continued with his rant. I left this store never wanting to come back and I dont think I ever will. What a poor example of a local store owner to the two younger employees that were there at that time.

If you want small inventory of basics for maybe a DIY but come up short of completion because they are out of stock, well imagine being a contractor on this side of town and then having to travel to the other side to get everything you needed for a lower prices anyways at the box stores

I can’t speak highly enough of the recent service I received at Ace. I had an unusual request to cut materials for a frame and the staff and Grant were so accommodating. You can buy repair and maintenance items all around State College, but the professional attention at Ace is worth the trip.

The staff at this Ace have always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are around what they are at big box stores. It is in a extremely convenient location as well since it is the only hardware store on that side of town.

Incredibly helpful staff, and the store isnt so huge that it takes 20 minutes to find what youre looking for, yet has a little bit of everything. It seems like we go every day when we are in the middle of a house project, and they have exactly what we need. So glad to have Ace Hardware on the south side of town.
