Lovely little book shop with an entire room in the back dedicated to theology. Peter and Patricia are very kind and welcoming. Nice place to sit down and have a cup of coffee, relax, look for books and journals and I love the store kitty. 🐈

Wow! Well organized. Friendly staff. Plus my big win was a room dedicated to theology (1/2 Roman Catholic, 1/2 Protestant/Baptist). I should not have been surprised, given the Franciscan University in town.

Lovely, quaint, very fun-to-visit bookstore! Some of the highlights include a highly curated collection, carefully organized by subject, and in most categories also by author. A full room dedicated to Judeo-Christian theology in this town which is home to Franciscan University. Browsing the main bookstore, I enjoyed listening to my husbands favorite album, Getz/Giberto, and greeting the bookstore cat. In the theology room I enjoyed the peaceful chanting of Franciscan monks. Honestly, I could have spent four or five hours browsing the shelves. BookMarx is a great name for the store, as it is a play on the last name of the owners! I found many bargains and spent about $40. Just a few steps away is an amazing little cafe and coffee house with a gift shop. I was alone in Steubenville for a few hours and had a blast. The people are so warm and inviting and I made friends instantly with several. Cant wait for a trip back to BookMarx, too!

There are plenty of books and the organization is library quality. It is a quaint atmosphere. There is a nice card selection rack too.

Great selection wonderful customer service

Compared to the chain bookstores, BookMarx is small but intimate. It has a wide variety of new and used books, and even a section with books from local authors. The service is fast and friendly and they have very comfortable sitting areas to read or resesrch. In a small city, it is a huge hit for those who want to hold an actual book in their hands and read while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Oh! And if they dont have it, they are always happy to order it.

They have a nice selection of both fiction and nonfiction books. They also are very helpful, if youre looking for a particular one. They also have a website you can order their books from - and you can pick it up at their store downtown, which is nice and convenient, or even have the books delivered. They are friendly, and I love seeing the cat in the store. Ive gotten a few books from them so far, and Ill definitely be going back!

This book store is one of my all time favorite places to study, get great books and quality vinyl. All while listening to music and playing with Raven the cat. The Marxs do an amazing job and are so friendly.

Always friendly people in there. And quiet. I seem to see the same people in there all the time. It has a large theology section in the back and plenty of history books. Just 10/10 experience every time I go in.One little thing, they have a cat that lives there. So people who dont like cats or are allergic might want to steer clear.

I used to sell books to them they hardly gave me any money for them this one book was signed by the offer they gave me $1 and they ended up selling it for 20.00.there books are over charged and they lie to u.
