Just had a great experience at east side auto. We brought our van in for check engine light and loss of power. They ran the diagnostic (which I knew was going to be $80)… they cleaned the MAF sensor and didn’t charge anything for that service. They could have just as easily charged .5 hrs of shop time to clean the sensor but they didn’t! Thank you!

I know this is odd to post a review from an experience that was ago, but Ive been dealing with mechanics lately and wanted to pay homage to the most incredible garage - I was pregnant, it was the dead of a freezing cold winter and we were traveling a long way back home to New York when our truck began rattling and stalling in Wisconsin. Long story short, these guys got us in right away and treated us with such kindness and respect, like we were one of the locals. They did a wonderful job (rapidly) and charged us an extremely reasonable price for the extent of the damage. Will never forget their kindness. Thanks guys.

Worst service Ive ever had. They took 3 weeks when they said it would take 1. They marked me up 400% on parts and dodged me every time I tried to get an update. BEWARE!!! Im not sure how this business has lasted this long, they took advantage of my lack of mechanical knowledge. I also talked to other mechanic to find out just how badly I was ripped off and taken advantage of and they all agree this business is the absolute worst. Look elsewhere!

Scam artists theyve had my car 6 weeks. I took it in for a simple sensor change paid them 1500 dollars and when i went to pick up i find they blew up my engine absolutely terrible service when i call them i wait days and all they do is text. This place needs to be shut down.!!! Beware 400% mark up. Expose this shop!!! Make this go viral!!!!!

This is the only place to get your vehicle service at a working mans price. The labor cost definitely doesn’t reflect the quality I’ve paid double at other places only to get a portion of the quality. Honest Knowledgeable and Friendly atmosphere you won’t be let down.

As a female I have been taken advantage of, (stereotypical reasons) with charging me unnecessary services. Not here. Efficient service, Clean environment, and friendly service. Been using East Side Automotive on and off for about 4 years. The work is done quickly and the rates are on par or better than dealerships or other shops. Never had an issue getting an appointment, even on a Feb weekday when my water pump went out. Repair was done that afternoon and picked up my vehicle the next morning. Highly recommend them if youre in the area or looking for a dealership alternative.

Currently redoing some of their work to my grandmothers car. The negative reviews for them do ring some truths. The overpriced parts vs. the quailty is my biggest issue. (I understand there should be some markup) They also dont seem to have the attention in the details. Like trim... I see few issues with the installation jobs and seals seam to be done well. But, If you arent mechanically and consumer inclined, they seem like they take a little advantage of that fact.

They aligned my car and I returned as a dash light came on. They had it rechecked and a connection was not plugged in when I bought it. The service person plugged it in for me. The alert light came on 40 miles later. Have to replace a bearing. Great service.

On the afternoon of 7/23/2020, we left Janesville WI to go to Stoughton. We no sooner got on the highway than our Battery light came on. We drove to Stoughton and stopped into East-Side Automotive to ask them to check it out. Somewhat to our surprise, they pulled our car into the shop right away and after a few minutes told us that one of our belts was missing. They happened to have the correct belt in stock and immediately put it on the car. In less than one hour from the time we stopped in, we pulled out again with the problem completely fixed. The personnel at the facility were very friendly and treated us well. If we lived nearer to Stoughton, East-Side would be our new service providers! Oh, yes, the charges for this service were less than 1/2 of what we expected to pay. I cant say enough nice things about this business - if youre near Stoughton and need automotive service, I strongly suggest you give them a call!

Troy and Shelly are a class act. They are great owners of a very experienced shop! Over the past couple of years I have had a full brake job, full custom exhaust system, valve adjustment, and initial engine firing for my prototype build. I trust their experience and expertise, and that is very important to me, and my build. I am blessed to have found them, and I plan on continuing to have my vehicles serviced here. Ive brought in my Honda Civic which needed work done, they inspected my car and said I needed brakes and the brake lines were rotted out and needed replacing as they couldve broke apart if they just serviced the brakes alone. After the work, my brakes were great for a week, then went soft so I brought it back. They took it for a test drive and confirmed my claim. Reinspected the lines, no leaks, but they tightened the nuts more and flushed the lines..no cost to me. I now own a 2016 Transit Connect and plan on using them for my future repairs.

I really want to like these folks, but they dont keep their promises.Took one car in when it broke down on the highway. They said they’d have it fixed the next day. I had a squeaky belt on my other car and wanted that fixed too. They said theyd be able to fix that when I picked up the first car.I called the next day and they didn’t even order the parts. Even though my wife authorized the work, they ignored her until I called in. They claimed that they would have the car fixed the next day and theyd be able to look at my second car right afterwards.The next day rolls around and they managed to fix the first car, but then refused to honor their promise to look at my other car. They were “too busy” to do the work they said they’d do two days prior. Now Im stuck with a broken car and no one else in the area has enough availability to fix it until next week.I’ll be taking my car elsewhere from now on.

I took my car here to get the windshield wipers fixed. I tried to use them while they were iced and messed them up. I knew it should be a simple fix. They tried to tell me that I had to buy a whole new wiper arm just replace a clip, which would cost just under $300 with labor. I told them I’d pass and when I left called a local salvage yard, they told me to come by and they could see what they can do. The guy behind the counter came out and looked and said I can probably fix this for you. He did, with no extra parts just a few tools and five minutes of his time. These guys had my car apart and could have done the same, but wanted to try to seriously overcharge me. I also had my front light changed which they charged me $85 for and I had the bulb already. I have heard really good things about these guys but never will I bring my business there again.

Not sure whats to discuss.you were trying tio charge me 1400 dollars for a break job that is going to cost less than 800 bucks anywhere else i get a quote.took my truck in there and asked for you to look it over before i drove it and make sure things are up to par.all that was done was checking my check engine light.if my hood was opened there is clearly problems you could see right off the bat i needed new battery and terminals.stalled out twice on my way up there. but nope i was told it was good to go.then i got two new tie rods and ball joints along with an alignment.since the day i drove it from your place my wheel has been at 10 o clock just to go straight down the road.i figured since it was an older vehicle no biggie.talked to numerous mechanics and it shouldnt be at 10 to go straight. alignment is way off.why would i bring something back into you for you to find something else to overcharge me on.

I live in Madison and work in Stoughton. On the way to work I experienced some front wheel wobble. I called east side and got my car in that day. I was worried it might be a bearing or an alignment issue. It was a Friday and Id planned to travel to see my family for one of the few times each year were all back together.East side helped take the stress out of the day by getting me in right away, providing great service, and communicating clearly. They charged a price below what I expected and had it done for my road trip that day.Thanks!

I went here a few months ago to get my brakes done, for a tire rotation and alignment on my 2013 car because my car was riding rough at high speeds and felt unsafe in wet conditions. My muffler was also loud. All in all I paid $537. I paid twice as much for brake parts than I could have bought them for online but I just moved and didnt have tools so I bit the bullet. My car drove worse than it did before the alignment and rotation. I cannot go faster than 70 or my car is shaking and feels unsafe. I hydroplane at very low speeds in the rain. My muffler was quiet for a month and then it was just as loud as before. Angry about spending so much, I refused to go back although I should have. 3 months later I have one of my tires which I bought only 7 months ago that is almost bald and another is much more worn than it should be. I dont know if there is another issue going on but they didnt find it or tell me there was when I was there. No problem with the brake job besides the expensive parts. To be fair they were nice and courteous and I understand they have a good reviews thats why I chose them but this was my experience, take it for what its worth. I will not be using them again.

Repaired front linkages for suspension and sway bar on my truck. Used quality parts and completed work in just one day. Saved me over $700 from what the dealer acoss town quoted plus they were able to dig up a rebate from the parts manufacture for additional savings. This is where my truck will go for repairs from now on.

Troy is great, and very personable, he saved me a bundle just by trying something different. Most shops have half the personality and even less passion for the customer. Keep up the great work!!

Eastside Automotive is the place for your car. They dont try to tell you that you need all kinds of other things done when you go in for one thing. They are honest, and trustworthy. They do good work for a good price, I dont feel overcharged when I take my car in. They will give you a ride home as well when you drop off if needed.

We take all our vehicle maintenance and repair work to ESASC. They get the job done quickly and at the best price they can offer. Theyve never steered us wrong!

Im always afraid to take my 2004 Sunfire in because I feel like the mechanics will find $1000 worth of issues. That never happens at East Side! They do great work at a great price. I swear that car has 9 lives thanks to East Side.

I have no problem with the service, but they definitely need to do something about their property. Parking is terrible and not well maintained.

They were able to do a starter replacement on my 2008 bmw 5 series at $150 less than I thought I was going to pay. At the moment my 2008 Volvo suv is there with a reocurring ignition coil blowing issue. Hopefully just a short that is being hard to find. I work at a Semi tractor dealership and am surronded by mechanics that know thier autos too. These coworkers have backed everything East-Side Auto has told me. Great rates and will return.

I have heard a lot of good things about Eastside automotive, as I work at advance auto parts. I just called today and asked for a quote on a couple of simple things. The guy rudely said, I dont give quotes out over the phone. I stated, ok, I guess i will go somewhere else, to which he immediately tried to salvage the business. I wanted an ac recharge and a transmission flush. He talked me like I was stupid. I talked to my coworkers about it, and they said I shouldve told them that I work for advance. But I shouldve have to. I dont want special treatment. If this is how they treat their customers. No thanks!

Car broke down on the way home from Madison to Janesville. Had the car brought to Eastside Auto in Stoughton based on google reviews and it turned out GREAT! They were both professional and knowledgeable. Dropped the car off after hours without an appointment they had it done the next day!!! Pricing was very competitive and the workmanship was great. Would recommend completely. To bad they are not in Janesville because this would be my go to for any car repair!

My brother-in-law took his car there for some work. 1 they didnt know what they were doing. 2 they over charge him. 3 they mess up his car. If I could I would rate them lower
