We used Anthony Slabaugh to construct a speakeasy-type bar in our basement in Stow. The whole process was seamless. Ryan was great during the sales process and with follow up later. Nick was great to work with during the design phase. And Tim and Kyle were helpful and responsive during construction. The subcontractors also were courteous and very good at cleaning up each day.The entire process was a pleasure, and while it was not inexpensive, we look forward to enjoying the bar for a long, long time. Second great experience with Slabaugh Remodeling in Kent, Ohio.This is our second review for Slabaugh. We completed our master bathroom remodel in fall of 2019. Early in 2020 we began a conversation around remodeling the laundry/mudroom and the guest half bath. Based on our prior experience, without hesitation we chose to initiate this new project with Anthony, Ryan, Nick, Lee, Tim and the rest of the team at Slabaugh. And then the pandemic arrived.Our first pleasant experience was the fact that they were very flexible in delaying the project to ensure our and their staff’s safety and health. As a result, we delayed the project for over 3 months and began in late May and decided to complete both projects simultaneously (resulted in cost savings). The laundry room was completely remodeled and the guest bathroom sink, countertop and all the fixtures were updated along with a new accent wall.As with our previous experience, all phases were completed on time, on budget and to our satisfaction. Their staff were very conscious of the pandemic and practiced distancing, disinfection, masking, etc. to ensure everyone’s safety.Whenever there are two projects in progress at the same time, there is potential for delays, missing materials, etc. We experienced a couple of minor issues with materials which were immediately addressed and did not cause any issues. Perhaps the biggest pleasant surprise was a decision we had made on a light fixture, it looked good in pictures, however when it was installed it was a total mismatch to the rest of the half bath. To Slabaugh’ s credit, they worked with us to ensure that it was replaced with one that was the perfect match to the rest of the guest bathroom.As with our last experience, their installers and staff were pleasant, professional and respectful of all the spaces in our home. While they were here, they also took a look at the last project and fixed some items that we had not noticed previously. When they say a “5-year warranty” they truly mean it. As we said previously, we got what we paid for, every penny spent was worth it. They have the utmost integrity and their attention to detail is great. A key to another successful project was their partnership, knowledge and ideas for all the ideas we presented to them during the design phase.We highly recommend Slabaugh without any hesitation or concern. We do not have other projects on the horizon. However, if there is another in the future, rest assured Slabaugh remodeling is our number one choice and they should be yours also.

Hands down the best designers and contractors you will find. These guys are extremely professional and incredibly detailed. They took our small, out of date bathroom and turned it into something that looks like a picture straight out of a luxury home magazine. We began our search for a full scale remodeling and design firm last August. Before they ever came to the house, we met to simply review past projects and outline our desires while understanding their process. After several extensive meetings, it became evident that their partnership would be best for our project.Our project entailed taking the kitchen down to the studs, completely altering layout, hardwood floor refinishing throughout, stairway and railing work along with extensive molding/painting/carpentry. Upon completing the design and layout, the team was very helpful in choosing all the details: fixtures/back splash tile/paint colors/hardware schemes. They worked closely with us on coordinating appliances and working them into our layout.We received a complete project book as well as a dynamic schedule located on the Builder Trend app. This outlined every trade, which days they would be onsite, as well as milestone timing for various facets of the project (demo/drywall/cabintery/countertops). When they started, it was outlined as a three month project. They finished almost EXACTLY on time (and within 4% of projected total cost) certainly unique to the industry!Overall, we found tremendous value in the consistent communication, timeline, and high quality of both the Slabaugh team as well as their trades. What more can I say .... ASRD is the BEST. I utilized this company for a complete kitchen remodel and just finished up a remodel with a Master Bath and a downstairs 1/2 bath. Everything from start to finish without problems. The end product just beautiful! This organization is detailed oriented and very organized. You know everything upfront before contract signing. There are many one on one meetings with Anthony, Nick, and the interior designer, Rita, before the project is started. They hire excellent sub contractors who do great work.. All of them clean up after their work and protect your home and surroundings. Andrew, is so good at preparing your home for demolition. He makes sure everything is protected. Lee, the project manager is always on top of things and communicates with you more than often. My projects were completed on time. You get what you pay for, This company is not budget contracting, however Anthony and his team work hard at keeping you within your desired budget. Next year I am planning on remodeling my bathroom upstairs and I will once again use ASRD. Simply the BEST.

ASRD is excellent in design, planning, and execution. The entire process from planning the project to finishing touches was so well planned that they made remodeling as painless and smooth a process as possible. Our entire project went exactly as they said it would, on time and as we had envisioned it. A power outage didnt even stop them; the contractors just plowed through with generators. The multiple planning meetings that ASRD schedules were helpful both in refining the design and in virtually eliminating change orders/delays, because the considerable time invested in the design meetings makes sure that everyone involved in the project is on the same page. The positioning of our basement staircase presented some challenges, which the team at ASRD not only addressed, but turned into an eye-catching design feature. During construction, we had family staying with us on more than one occasion and everyone commented on how courteous and professional all the contractors were that they came into contact with. Our basement has turned into a fun gathering space and a mini-getaway for the kids that we look forward to enjoying for many years.

Kitchen remodel / upgrade project --- Bad Experience! After multiple meetings and an on-site visit to our home, Provider estimated our project at a high (but acceptable) price. Reviews on Angie’s List and elsewhere were very positive, so we figured that good quality and workmanship would justify the premium price.Ten weeks into the project we were given a final price that was over 35% higher than the original estimate. When we questioned the large increase, the Provider explained that he had erroneously included a higher profit margin in the final proposal, which added over $2,000. Provider agreed to reduce the final price by this amount and take only the profit that was included in the original estimate.A week later the Provider informed us that he was dropping our project and keeping our initial payment / design fee.Over the years we’ve built major room additions, finished basements, remodeled kitchens and bathrooms, built garages, etc. but this was the most stressful, time-wasting, inefficient construction/remodeling experience we’ve ever had. Buyer Beware!
