I love Duchess Diner. Great variety on the menu, always great servers and they make a damn good cup of coffee. We dont eat out often, but we love going there.

I was incredibly displeased by the experience I had. First of all by the look of the place outside. I should have known to go elsewhere, but because yrs. ago the food was good I overlooked the 1st impression & went in.There was a line of people paying their bill & the staff wasn’t paying attention that the line to get in was getting longer, so it took awhile to get a table.The waiter was either new or very forgetful, because he came back 3 times to ask about a side dish.Finally, the food came, we were eating when we noticed little bugs crawling on the wall; at that point we were forced to leave, since we didn’t feel comfortable & grossed out by the bugs.I truly don’t recommend this place!

My fiancé and I have recently moved to Stratford and found this diner on a whim. We have been here numerous times and always the service is great with the host staff and waiters always being friendly and kind. The food always comes out hot and is always delicious!

Dont go here if you dont want to catch COVID! COVID city! I was there for pick up about a week ago. The old guy in the front wore his mask down around his chin, breathing from his mouth widr open, and EVERY singlr waiter, waitress, manager, etc had the it masks down on their chin, or with their noses sticking out. Gross! Food was ok. Fries were limp and undercooked and honestly I was afraid to eat it. The staff was NOT obeying CDC guidelines snd they will be reported to the health department.

Stopped in with a 4 top. No masks, no service, right? But as in most restraurants/diners, when you are served you may eat with the mask off. This Diner is out of our local area but we stopped by for old times sake. Hardly anyone there, dont understand why. Its a great Diner in Stratford, CT. We had great service (thank you Michele) & my spouse had a Monte Cristo. Real French Toast & the combination of ham & turkey was awesome. The coffee was hot & we were asked if we would like a fresh pot made. A northeast custom that I truly enjoy. Im not THAT fussy about my coffee but being asked is the thrill for me. Seemed like a nice assortment of desserts in the counter case for viewing upon entry & I love this place, partly for the food, mostly for the memories. In any case, if you are in the area, its worth your while to stop for a bite. Walked through the whole place as restrooms are on one side & we sat at the other side. Gave me a chance to report that the Diner was immaculately clean as was the ladies room. Try the Duchess Diner, it will make you feel royal!

Great diner. I had a bacon burger special. Unfortunately my bacon was beyond crispy. The coleslaw was very watery. Everything else was amazing. The staff was friendly and the diner was very clean.

It’s close by and our go to diner- the food is good, I’d say average, and the service can be great or acceptable- but never bad! The only thing I don’t like is their coffee, it’s never hot enough and too weak for my taste. My favorite is the Happy Waitress sandwich ( grilled cheese with tomato and bacon) yum!

We were there last night after work. Got seated, menus, and water in less than 3 minutes. Waiter was extremely helpful, friendly, and came back several times to find out if we needed or wanted anything else. Great comfort food delivered to our table in minutes hot and fresh. Large portions, place was clean and tidy. Well definitely be going back many times! Classic diner food and good prices.

Reminds me of a New York City Diner you can get pretty much the same style of food. staff and Services pretty good ...definitely you can get an awesome piece of fresh Cheescake as well.

I was pleased with breakfast. Matt, the server was also pleasant and attentive. My bff was not as happy with her meal. She requested no pork in her omelette and suspected that was not the case.
Open past 6 in the morning so if youre an early riser and love to go get your breakfast and God is a place to go

I had eggplant parmigian sandwich which was delicious! Good coffee as well but the decore is very outdated and looks dumpy. But all in all was ok

The service was good but I dislike their lunch menu very much so. I recommend that you do not get their meatball grinders, the meatballs were old and not fresh. The mega French fries with the cheese and bacon is disgusting. The fries were hard and the cheese wasnt even half way melted. I will not come here again.

Service food and price awesome
My boyfriend and I went to this diner last night. As soon as we received our food there was a man throwing up at the window right next to us. We tried to let the staff know but the man at the front acted like he didn’t know what was happening. Is it really considerate that you have people eating while there is a man is blowing chunks in front of the diner? We left soon after barley touching our food due to being grossed out that we were inches away from a man throwing up with a full view. As we were walking out the man who was hosting at the front said “ Are you going to pay for that?” No. We didn’t pay and no we will not be returning to that diner. I advise other people shouldn’t either.

This used to be a great diner. Management apparently has changed. They no longer serve better than average food, the service is very slow and management has no desire to please the customer. We used to go to this place frequently. No more.
