Ed is a man that has found his calling, both to his benefit as well as to the benefit of whomever he helps.My wife and I have purchased several kayaks and other kayaking gear from him over the years, and have always been treated like family. Very knowledgeable, and honest to a fault, sometimes offering advice that pointed us to other options that took our business elsewhere, knowingly!Great guy, great place, great prices, just wish ( as does he, Im sure) that his shop was closer to water for testing or allow him to rent/ride like it was previously.

Been 5 years since I Kayaked here and even more beautiful then I remember. Ed is the best and still friendly as ever. Rented out 6 kayaks and all were in really good shape. The river was clean with no trash and filled with life. We saw tons of gators sun bathing. Momma with some babies to 6 footers on the shoreline. I had a wonderful time on the water and i have to thank Ed for his wonderful energy and care for his work.

This is the perfect place to have some fun on the weekend or go for a relaxing row down the river and see some wildlife. The owner is really helpful and theres a lot of cool gear in the shop. Well worth the time check it out. Rates for rentals are more than reasonable.

This was my 1st visit to the new store in Stuart. It wont be my last. The owner, Ed was great. Not only did he do a great job on my Hobie kayak, but gave me great advice for my sons Hobie. My family had the best time kayaking the river yesterday! Ed, the owner, was phenomenal to deal with. He got my kids fitted properly in life jackets, explained exactly which way we wanted to go on the map and what we might see, and then helped us into the river. We saw several turtles, a couple manatees, two huge mama gators and some cute baby gators. The scenery is gorgeous and so peaceful!I can’t recommend this enough. We had a blast, and we will definitely be back!

Great experience, Like driving a paddle boat but about twice the speed of paddling. My 12 year old drove his own with no issues. River trail directly from South Rivers dock is great. Highly recommended.

I called to see if there was a tandem kayak available for rent, and they held it for me, no questions asked. The rental equipment is in almost new condition, and the paddles are of very high quality. He periodically has sales as well, with unbeatable prices if you wish to purchase. I highly recommend!

Great deal. Quietly kayak down one of the small fingers of the St Lucie river. It takes about 2.5 hours one way. Theres a hiking trail at the end too. Bring a picnic. Check out the wildlife. You may see an alligator although I didnt.

He was able to help guide me in the direction towards clean water, considering the water behind the store is closed due to blue green algae. He explained to me how this has killed business for him, so I am glad I was still able to do business with him. Highly recommended!

Great experience. Traveled all the way from Homestead to get parts for my pescador pilot and a hobie mirage drive. Great prices. I even scored a few parts for free. The trip was well worth it.

South river outfitters in Stuart puts on a 2 day free seminar for kayak fishing with different pros and experienced anglers around March each year. It is a very worthwhile event and we get to try out their different rental and for sale kayaks all day long and they bring in lots of kayak fishing experts from various areas to help us know how to catch more fish from our kayaks. I have been going for two years now and every time have learned something and am very impressed with their operation, friendliness, professionalism and everything else about their staff and facility that is right right on the water.

This kayak dealer has a wide assortment and inventory of kayaks and parts. They are also located on a river where you can try out a kayak. The prices are reasonable with most kayak shops around. You can rent kayaks there too.

Owner was helpful and informative. Made me feel safe and confident, especially with it being my first time in a canoe. Reasonably priced.

Uuuugh! You have to ask a million questions to the guy before you go....we were very uninformed even though we called three times before we went. The river was closed due to the algae and we were not informed, he does not provide a shuttle service to the other two possible places, the lake was closed to spraying we were not informed and he is very nonshlant about everything. On the bright side after a day waisted we finally got to go to the lake and it was gorgeous!

Customer service at its best,Got out of car, a guy(Ben)walking out of store away from me with a customer, greeted me welcome Ill be with as soon as I can I knew I was at the right place before I even walked into the shop.Later I realized they also rent kayaks/paddleboard and Ben was getting setting them off.Ben came in directly towards me with a proper handshake.Within 10 minutes I decided and bought a ocean kayak trident 13.(he had all three colors!!!) Before buying he even offer to let me try it.Am almost 2hrs away, but will come back again again again.Yes, I would recommend.

I rented a kayak from Ed, great guy great store, beautiful canoe trail along the South Fork.

I purchased a used fishing kayak from Ed at South River Outfitters after answering a Craigslist ad. Online dealings can be sketchy so I proceeded with caution. When Ed and I first touched base about the kayak, I could tell right away he was genuinely interested in helping me. He didn’t haggle with me on price breaks. He was more than willing to answer all of my questions about the origin of the kayak and its condition. I live more than four hours from Stuart where SRO is based, so it was important to me to deal with someone I could trust. Ed was honest and friendly throughout the entire process. Thad, one of SRO’s reps, was awesome too. He too me snook fishing after I picked up my kayak! And yes we landed some snook. Cant ask for much more than that! Thanks SRO!
