We dove with Stuart Scuba yesterday. We have never dove before in the Stuart Florida area. We were told the dive was a lobster hunting dive. We did not want to hunt lobster but we were told that we would be dropped by reefs and that there would be plenty to see. We also were never told that we would be doing a drift dive. The first spot we were dropped at was not even a reef it was called the Sahara it was just a bunch of sand no reef no coral no fish. only 3 people found lobster even the seasoned divers did not like the spot. My kids and I tried to stay by the boat we didnt know we could drift. We stayed as close as we could swimming the whole time against the current not knowing that we could be picked up and that we were allowed to drift. it was exhausting the second dive was a reef dive which was much nicer but it was ringing and it was very bad lighting they were bringing up small lobster and lobster with eggs which they should not have taken. Today we were supposed to dive with them again. we arrived at 1:20 p.m. for a 1:30 departure and they had already left another dive boat in the area said they left at 1 p.m. so they basically left without us we have a receipt that said a 1:30 departure we called the shop and they were completely nasty to us. This was not my best diving experience and I have been diving since 1985. I would not recommend these guys there are far better more courteous dive shops out there they could have taken a minute to explain the nature of the dive to us they knew we were new people and we were not one of the regular click of divers that went out with them there was no dive briefing or safety briefing given and as I said before they never explained to us that it was a drift dive so we looked like a bunch of idiots trying to swim against the current because we were afraid to go too far away from the boat on the first dive.

I enjoyed the Scuba Certification course for beginners. I meet with Matt in the dive shop and he helped me get fitted properly with great equipment for my dives. The staff was helpful and I plan to start the next certification for more advance level.

Peter and his staff are great people. They are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about diving. When I drop something off tanks and regulators to be serviced, I know the work is going to be done well and done on time. I recommend them without reservation.

I came down from NC to Stuart Scuba for my Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures certification and I have absolutely no regrets. Peter and his staff at Stuart Scuba run an excellent operation. My instructor was Shawn Robotka. Shawn is a true professional and an expert in his field. He is very thorough, knowledgeable and patient. The class was challenging but rewarding and I am a better diver for it. I look forward to continuing my scuba education with Stuart Scuba and Shawn in the near future.

Dive guide became impatient during decent and abandoned the entire group... absolutely irresponsible and unacceptable.

Booked a dive for my 30th birthday. They neglected to tell us we were meeting at a different location and that we were leaving at 9:00 rather than the 10:00 he told me at booking. Needless to say we were very disappointed. They said someone would be giving me a call back to discuss a resolution further.After not hearing from them for 2 weeks I called back to see about my refund. The woman didn’t believe me, stating that everyone who works there knows to tell people when and where the dives depart from, as if I was making this whole thing up. So they gave me the wrong information and then called me a liar. Great customer service guys. Still waiting on my refund.

If I had to come up with one gripe Id say the boat captains Ive had were not the most skilled set of individuals but I think they run three boats and have a number of captains. Ive never been a big purchaser from this shop yet they treat me like Im their most important customer every time I go there. Today Matt let me BORROW a dive light for some maintenance on a boat I was working on instead of selling me a new $80 light for a 10 minute repair job.Class act, every time.

Booked a local dive out of Jupiter with this dive shop for a Thursday. Im flying out of Arizona mind you. I was told someone would contact me 48 hours out to follow up on if they were still going to do the trip. I finally decided to call them after my flight into town on Wednesday, to follow up since they didnt, only to be informed that they cancelled the trip. And no one decided to tell me. I couldve left my dive gear in Arizona if thats the case. Piss poor customer service.Update:I was contacted by the owner of the shop to try to rectify the situation. I was offered a refund and 2 free local trips. Although Im still a bit salty (I was really looking forward to this), I do appreciate the owner taking the initiative to fix the problem.

A little over a year ago I had 4 tanks visually inspected here. I later noticed one of the tanks leaking on my 13 year old daughters tank while we were diving. We aborted the dive and went to the surface to find the O-ring between the valve and tank was partially extruded between the valve and tank. On closer inspection I found 2 others the same way. I drained all 4 of the tanks and found none of the valves were tightened even finger tight. All the O-rings were hard and squared off indicating they should have been replaced but were not. None of the valve threads were lubricated. However the cause of the problem was not tightening the tank valve. When I returned to have the tanks inspected early this summer I told the guy behind the counter of this and asked that it not happen again. He told me several BS scenarios that this could happen which indicated he was not educated on the mechanics involved and was pretending he was, or he was a liar. The O-ring is completely surrounded by metal in a tank that passes inspection when a valve is screwed in hand tight making this an impossible fault to ever happen, much less in 3 out of 4 tanks. If these O-rings completely blew out under water it could cause a very quick loss of air supply. The simple cure I used in shops that I worked in was to never partially tighten any pressurized components. They probably put all 4 tanks together and planned to come back and give them all a quick rap with a rubber mallet to tighten them all at once and forgot this step. I waited a long time to write this because these guys are nice and I was so angry that they put my children at risk. When they acted like it was no big deal and would probably continue the practice I though this was necessary.

Hi,I wanted to complete my VIP instructor course with TDI. I completed the online VIP course and completed hands on and VIP instructor course with Stuart Dive shop in Stuart FL. I paid over $400 for the training. I never received any certification from the dive shop. I emailed and called many times without any results. First they told me I needed 3 months of experience to process my certification. After 3 months I call and email again and they told me I needed six months of experience then they can process my certifications. Now is over six months and they don’t even reply my emails. I have emailed the manager multiple times. I’m the only repair technician at Naval Base Guantanamo, Cuba and I would like to certified some of the staff but after paying for training I can’t even do that.Sent from my iPhone
