1 star because you can’t give zero. Went to have a scope installed. Got it back with the reticle severely canted and was told it was because the way I look at the scope. Brought it back in only to find out they have no levels when mounting a scope. Zero…If you are going to charge people for services like this, you should at least be remotely competent in it or have the correct tools. Otherwise don’t offer the service. Better to not have a service available than to have a defective one.

Customer service and management are non existent. Went to pick up an item previously paid for and waited almost 2 hrs before leaving. There were maybe 7 customers in the whole store but had 3 people waiting for service the entire time. The only employee who could assist us was talking about his favorite shotgun and World War I stories with what looked like a big child. I dont think he was even old enough to purchase a pellet gun. I finally stalked down another employee out of frustration and was informed I needed to wait on the guy running his mouth to a window shopper with no intention of making a purchase. After they started discussing video games and guns from them I walked out.This has to be the most disorganized gun store in the world. I would recommend a line for picking up items purchased, a sales counter, and an information desk. If someone is asking a million questions like they have never handled a firearm and want free training they should not be wasting 2+ hours at the sales counter with the only available employee for sales.

If it were the physical stores only, I would offer a much higher rating. The staff in all of the stores I’ve been to are professional, knowledgeable, and helpful.But the stores have a limited selection. So, as with the rest of the world, we must look online. That is where the proverbial cookie crumbles. They lure you with cool selections and competitive prices. But they have the worst service I’ve seen in my years either personally or professionally.Let’s address some specifics.1. They refuse to properly staff the customer service line and have wait times in excess of 100 minutes. (Their own admission). They blame it on the elections and increased volume - someone should tell them that started a while ago and that excuse is outdated. Hire and train more agents.2. The confirmations - at least the ones that relate to firearm sales transferring to their own stores - offer an invalid telephone number.3. Horrible shipping times. More than a week just to ship to their own store. Then, it could take an “unknown” time to ship them, another “unknown” time to receive and log them, and yet another “unknown” tune to contact you for pickup. Good to know. Or not know.4. Customer service - when you get to them - are great reading you the FAQs from their site. But have nothing more to say that you cannot read on their site. So, in other words.... a colossal waste of time.So done with PSA

Took my 18 year old Grandson to the range something we have done since he was 5 years old. What a GREAT time we had! There wasnt any 45 amp ammo available so we rented a 9mm and shot for several hours. My Grandson had never been to the range @ Summerville so he was quite impressed he thought it was Better than Bas Pro . Thanks to all the helpful staff ti was a day well spent.

They charged me $180 to ship my weapons to Knoxville told me they would ship out next day a week and a half went by so I call Knoxville tactical they have no idea where my guns are long story short they lost my paperwork, made Snide comments about my wife being a felon, refused to take responsibility for not packaging my weapons correctly they said I should have bought cases I’ve never shipped guns before I didn’t know to buy cases and they didn’t recommend it now my brand new guns are scratched and every time I call they hang up on me when I ask for their claims department, or ask for the owners number I’m really upset about my experience they treated me really poorly and damaged my weapons And refuse to take responsibility for it Do not use them unless you want your stuff destroyed and deal with rude unreasonable staff when a problem occurs

Had a very difficult situation get handled extremely professionally and courteously by managers Eric and Scarlet at Summerville location. A sales associate made a pretty big error when presenting an item to me as did I for not checking and rechecking the product but trusting his word. Though I was at fault as well, they apologized on behalf of associate and made the situation right and both parties happy. They would have been, in some ways, justified not understanding my complaint but they made sure to treat me as a respected customer. Thanks so much guys.

I have been receiving emails from this comment for several years. They started as an online store to sell ammo and have great deals. They opened a physical store and it is well stocked. The have a bow team, gun range and anything related to shooting, fishing or outdoors life. The staff is great. I wanted to shoot a blue before buying and they set one up for me to shoot a free times before deciding the one I want. Definitely recommendMy rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what you expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special and a 5 means you were blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing and a 1-star rating is terrible

I hate to leave this on the Summerville store because this is more of a bad review for the main branch. I Purchased a firearm and I have never had such poor customer service in all my life. I Purchased this firearm over a month ago and still to this day have not received the firearm. Every time trying to connect with the main branch to find out where this was they would keep giving me the runaround. Once the item shipped, keep in mind there are only two hours away from a local store I waited 3 to 4 days and called the store in Somerville. This will be my only complaint about the store the guy that answered the phone was rude but gave me the information i needed. Which was that it is not been checked in yet. I proceeded to call Palmetto State Armory and they said they would call me back and never did. So this day I still do not have a firearm and will probably never purchased one from Palmetto State again. I have had way better experience at Allied arms and multiple others in the area of Charleston.

Ive heard nothing but good things about PSA so I took my first trip to go see the folks and to purchase a Shadow Systems pistol. I patiently waited for over 30min at the gun counter while staff walked past without acknowledgement. Many staff members were even just chatting with each other. No hi, bye, go to hell, f you...nothing. Even a hey well be with you as soon as we can wouldve been great. I wanted to buy here to support local business, but Ill take by business elsewhere.

I love this store the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Other stores Ive been to they act like youre bothering them. Lol. I will drive the extra few miles to go here and pass by another store because of their staffs professionalism. The gun range is clean and the staff take the time to help people that need it. Yes if you want to buy a gun you have to wait like any other store however when you walk up to them and let them know youre there to buy a gun they will tell you they will be with you. I had no problem purchasing a firearm once I told them I was there to purchase a firearm my wait was maybe fifteen minutes as soon as he was done with another customer the staff member came straight to me to help with my purchase. You cant be afraid to let them know youre there.

Better than ATP. Prices arent cheap but theres something to be said about a store that has alot of very helpful employees and lots of different floor models in hunting fishing guns archery clothing and so on that you can actually see hold feel test the qualify before you gey ripped off buying a cheaper made in china piece of plastic off the internet. I much prefer coming here opposed to buying online.

Dont ever use this place to transfer a gun from another store. Takes them days to check in the firearm and then the paperwork takes over an hour after waiting for someone behind the gun counter to help you. Frustrating to say the least. Recommend either Allied Arms or Amchar instead. Their customer service is top notch.

I purchased a Hammerli 22lr because the salesman, Anthony Rossi, recommended it and I couldnt be any more pleased with my purchase. Anthony is very knowledgeable about firearms and is very helpful. I ended up going back to PSA the following week to give him a review of the rifle because he wanted to know what I thought. When I was there I purchased another firearm because he went above and beyond to check the inventory in the back..., He came out with what I was looking for.

No order or system set up to deal with customers in a timely fashion. You just stand by a counter and hope someone makes eye contact with you. Expect to stand around for at least an hour before anyone even acknowledges that you’re an actual person looking for some help. Just trying to pick up a gun I already ordered and paid for online and I’ve been here almost 2 hours. They also sold me a gun they didn’t have any ammo for after telling me they would make sure I have a box of ammo with it when I picked up. I specifically asked for a gun that I could acquire ammo for the same day but they were all too happy to just sell me a paper weight.

The place was a madhouse partly because there are no lines and people just stand in front of counters and try to get waited on. People are less than honest when they yell out who is next. However you get good customer service from the knowledgeable people there. It took me 3 hrs to get thru the lines and pick up a gun I already had purchased online. Absolutely crazy!

Associates were completely incorrect and advised me incorrectly as to the legality of purchasing a handgun out of state. I was under the impression that it had to be shipped and they told me I could buy and take home. Waited 30-45 minutes for a background check just to be confirmed that I could not purchase in a state in which I did not reside. Completely unprofessional, and the majority of the gun counter staff knew nothing about the firearms that I had questions about or where they were located. Worst (attempted) firearm purchasing experience I have ever had.

I did read the prior reviews and i can truthfully say that Ive never experienced any of the problems posted. I took a class with BOBBY MAC one of the instructors there and i have nothing but great things to say about him. He is patient, knowledgeable, and very easy to get along with. i would recommend anyone taking a class here to try and get into one of his classes. His teaching is precise and on point...... always. As far as it being busy, of course it will be. however, i didnt experience any of the issues people were complaining about. Afterall, its busy in most stores these days. you just have to be patient and wait your turn. I can also tell you that i was only treated with respect and kindness.... by everyone i met.

The PSA website says the range is open and when I get there, the range has a long term arrangement with the sheriffs office to use it from 10-12 every Tuesday. As a courtesy, please update the range hours on your website. 3hrs of my day is wasted in packing/unpacking and driving to the range that isnt open to the public. This is the second this has happened to me. Ill gladly remove this review when the hours get updated.

Waited over 45 minutes to try and get help at the gun counter. Was told by one of the workers I would be next in line. I was standing in front of the firearms I was interested in. Saw that other people who showed up after me were being helped before me since they went up to the computer as the employees were finishing up sales. No organization to the system to help customer look at firearms. Wasted an hour of my time to walk out of the store.

I went to this store to purchase a gun and some ammo. I waited at the counter for an hour and was not acknowledged or treated with any help. It was not like they were swamped it was more like we did not matter. I am surprised at this but now can promise I would pay anyone double the cost rather than deal with the utter lack of respect we received at this store. I plan to do everything I can to give negative publicity to this store who obviously operates only on good old boy mentality

Pricing is insane... went into the store today and finally found some 9mm. They wanted to charge $33 for a box of 50 aluminum casings. This box would have been $10-11 in normal times. I appreciate the 1 box limit per caliber as a precaution to make sure the ammo makes it to as many folks as possible but pulling a price gouge like Cheaper than Dirt in addition to that is asinine.

PSA hasn’t really learned how to adapt to the increased number of customers over the past year. They have zero organization at the firearm counter and purchasing a firearm from this location consists of standing at the counter in a makeshift line and hoping that you get called on. The staff is knowledgeable once you actually get selected, but there are too few working in this area and not well organized. Separating online purchases from those browsing would be a start. Used to be my go to place but now I hesitate before ordering from them.

This place is awesome. Not only is the range nice the people that work there are very compassionate. My son was there and passed out due to dehydration and I had to call 911. Not only were they very helpful they called me to follow up and also sent a note to my 13 year old along with a hat, cup,and stickers. We are very appreciative. Way to go PSA you have the right people on your staff.

Had a great experience. The guy who talked to us (an older gentleman whose name completely slips me at the moment - Im so sorry!) was very helpful, educational, and pleasant to deal with. Me and my wife (or my wife and I for all you Northerners) had a great time and felt like we had been given the ability to make an informed decision that we would be happy with. I was a huge fan of PSA, but I was very sad to see them price gouging on the ammo they had in stock yesterday. $36 for a box of 115 grain 9mm range ammo. Even steel cased junk was $30!! With a one box limit what is the point of gouging customers? Guess Im done shopping there, unfortunately.

Went to pick my my new firearm purchased online after being notified it was in. Went in to the Summerville store and stood in what used to be the line only to find out the have no line anymore and you have to step up to the gun case and wait. This system sure isn’t working well and was told by a salesman walking by it was a “corporate “ decision. Had multiple people walk right up and cut me and others that clearly we’re waiting to be helped in this understaffed store. After 55 minutes and being ignored by the staff that was there I left without my online purchase. This place could certainly use some customer service training as well as a line or numbering system so customers can be helped without being cut out of the non-line by others. I will not return or order anything online from PSA anymore. I was a frequent customer buying for myself and gifts for others. I will take my hard earned money and spend it elsewhere

Another failed purchased at PSA. Tried to buy ammo and it rang up wrong price. They fixed it by typing in the correct price and then said I couldnt get my military discount. This was not the first time PSA fails to deliver on their discounts. They had items discounted in the store and would not honor it.

Purchased my first hand gun 2 weeks ago and the experience was very good except that they had no ammo for the gun I purchased. I returned yesterday to purchase ammo and sign up for the basic fire arm lesson that I was given a coupon for with the gun. I was told the ammo was in stock but they only sell the ammo for my gun (9mm) to new gun purchasers and do not offer the basic firearm lesson at this location. I said I just bought the gun and was still refused ammo unless I wanted to buy another new gun today......but I could use the coupon for one hour of free range time, not sure what good that is with no ammo but hey, what do I know.Update......they did contact me because of my review and sold me one box of overpriced ammo but no apology for me having to make 3 trips to complete my purchase.

Long story as short as possible, I ordered a limited addition receiver from PSAs website that was supposed to take 3-6 weeks to ship and customer service was horrible about keeping me informed and answering emails... flash to 4 months later I go to the Summerville store to pick it up, thinking this experience is probably going to be like pulling teeth from a shark. Lisa was my sales rep and made up for all the last 4 months of bs. Lisa understands gun sales and more importantly customer service. Thanks Lisa!!! And thanks PSA for amazing quality.

I went there to see about helping my mom find a gun she could handle for home defense. She lives on her own and far away. We waited for about 45 minutes for the two guys working behind the counter to get free. There was about 4 people in line and they spent that entire time with the people they had when we walked in. There were lots of other staff just standing around and I get only certain people can help with firearms but they need to staff more of these people. They either dont have ammo in stock or its over priced. Go to ATP!

Changing my previous review. Was not happy to learn PSA does not abide by the federal precedent for a default-proceed sale. I will say, however, that the online purchase of the firearm was easy, shipping was prompt, electronic paperwork submission was efficient. I do stand by the fact that it needs to be understood before the purchase that the store can, at their discretion, hold up a firearm sale for 30 days.

Great selection of fishing! Employees need customer service skill training. Also need to hire more people or replace the super slow ones that currently work there. Few good ones (probably new) but mostly all have zero people skills. Some how I keep coming back but leave unhappyToday is 11-10-20. Back because I need parts, and guess what? Asked for something guy laughing said we don’t have it. Walked away and another worker heard me and waited for the other guy to walk away to be nice and he showed me where the item was (6.5 grendel) they had plenty on the shelf.

After shopping here a few times I give it 3 stars.The range is excellent, and is probably the nicest range in the Trident Area considering the fees. So, Id give the range 5 stars.When you consider the store overall, There are some problems. Ill talk about them below.First, Its really annoying that they sort rifle parts based on brand. Parts are not sorted by what part it is, but by who the maker is. So you will have a section for BCM parts, Strike parts, Odin Part, etc. This makes it really hard to see all the different options for one part. You have to go and look at each brand. It makes it so you have to run all over the place, and you sometimes miss a few different options.Second, Their online inventory does not accurately reflect what is actually in the store. Want to call... good luck... they dont like people calling asking about inventory and availability. Maybe the online inventory is accurate, and you just cant find it because of the silly way they organize the store.Third, Rudeness. Yes. Ill say that there are a few employees that are really nice and helpful, so Ill give them credit where its deserved. Unfortunately there are some REALLY rude employees here.Fourth, I have had to return a few things here. Each time they granted my return... but you can tell that they really dont like doing it. It almost feels as if they are just looking for a reason to deny a return. They ask too many questions and almost challenge your reasons at times. Combine that with the rudeness and you can kinda get the picture.So, I think its a ok store if they have exactly what you are looking for and its a fair price. Just run in and run out... and make sure you wont possibly have to return it.Otherwise, just order off the internet from another retailer.

They were great in the beginning when they opened the Summerville location, now the guys behind the counter act like you are bothering them to see/buy a gun. Today was my first time shooting. I took a beginners class. Very inexpensive altogether. I was nervous, my hands were shaking, sweating (lol). But the customer service was amazing I wish I remembered the person who held the class with me was very nice - everyone there was very nice. and they took their time with me; the components of the gun and ways to handle the gun; and what to do and what not to do once on the Range. He even gave me the option that if I got on the Range and I didnt feel comfortable that was fine and we could do it at a later time -- which I really appreciated. I must say being that I was by myself and in a beginners class, they took really great care of me. And I really appreciate it. thank you Palmetto Armory!!

I thought racism was over. My African American son came to purchase a rifle and the lady began asking numerous questions. Were explained to her we just moved but she said she couldnt sell it to him. So i decided to purchase it for my self. I spent eleven years serving this country and i liked the rifle and have a legal right to own it but she would not sell it to me either. I know its racism and Im very disgusted with palmetto state armory. Shame on you.

Great gun store! Prices can be a bit high in store but not extremely bad. Staff is pretty good. They greet you (the ladies) most of the time but the guys at the gun counter are not what I consider very good salesmen and customer service is not at the top of their list. Overall, I do recommend this place for the active outdoors person because of its selection and available products.

I recently purchased a firearm and it took about a week to come in from the online store. I receive an email saying its READY for pick up. I arrive at 10 when they open just to wait 15 minutes after to go in. I approach the counter to wait another 10 minutes just for someone to acknowledge me. (Again they just opened so not busy whatsoever). They run my information just to tell me there is a 3 to4 day delay?!?! Ive been buying guns for over 10 years and never had anything like this happen. Never buy a gun or anything from her . Poorly ran store and just all around poor experience. Lets see if I actually get my firearm then Ill post another review to see how that goes.

This is the toys r us of hunting, fishing and everything else. Fairly large store which carries all that one may need to keep one busy. They have specials which one can find online or in circulars. Veterans are welcomed and get a discount. Youll always find something to enjoy the outdoor life. I highly recommend this store, great place.

Multiple times had to ask several other associates on basic shotgun questions.- if you want an AR or AR furniture, probably the place to go... Otherwise, not overly impressed

Not what I was expecting. Overpriced to say the least and not enough staff for a store this size.The shooting range was the only thing that I found fun and great otherwise Im just not interested. Theyre too overpriced on their Yeti items and clothing. Everyone raves about this store Im just going to leave it at my experience was not that great and first impression is everything.You need more staff! Honestly price your items accordingly we are in South Carolina not California.

I’ve communicated with 3 separate people from the store, once over the phone and twice in person. None were very helpful or knowledgeable, and they acted as if they were selling canisters of Ebola that would somehow infect the world, and they would be the cause of it. I understand that pedaling firearms “can be” a stressful job to some people, but those sorts of people need to be selling Cell phones.On another occasion I was looking for a licensed dealer to accept an order I had placed for a .50 cal desert Eagle online. State and Federal policies require the shipment to be made as such. But, according to the “customer support ‘SPECIALIST’” I spoke with on the phone, this store does not “do that” but they can have a specific product brought in from another “Palmetto State Armory” location.If you ask me I’d say these folks are a corporate owned chain (Similar to Dick’s (in more ways than one)) and they aren’t interested in customers as much as Dollars, I could be wrong though, you decide.As a responsible, and reasonable gun owner I’d rather not feed a corporate entity concerned with making every dollar count by paying unqualified young adults that have more business shift managing a Taco building operation at the local Taco Bell. Again I could be wrong, you decide.When I communicate with someone about purchasing a firearm, I don’t like to feel like I’m communicating with someone who was scraped from the bottom of the barrel simply because the business can legitimately pay him far less than a knowledgeable respectable tradesman.Keep in mind these are all simply my opinions, this is America, we are entitled to our opinions. And people are entitled to get offended because of them, but they are ALSO entitled to take them into consideration and not be offended. Either way, to those offended, I laugh at your ignorance, to those considerate enough to take it for what it is worth, I applaud you.

How does this place consider its self a gun store they never have 40 cal ammo. Every time i go in they always have the expensive 20 round boxes and never have the 50 round target rounds or practice rounds. Ill stick with ATP before i come back here for my ammunition needs.

They were out of almost all cleaning supplies. Also, every time that I have been in there, the women working the checkout were rude. They have an attitude and act like you are putting them out to wait on you.The one positive, is that the times I have used their indoor range. The staff back there are always helpful.

My go to gun shop. The ranges are very up to date. I have bought several firearms here and expect to do that again.The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The shelves are well stocked and diverse. The prices are some of the best in the region.

They have a great variety of items and their indoor range is nice. The problem I have been seeing lately is the customer service. There are several that are almost to a point of being rude. It seems that they are getting to be like another local shop (ATP), where they treat their customers like they are stupid / beneath them.Come on PSA, step it up and get some customer service training for your peeps and remind them how important the customer really is.I will also say they do have decent pricing, variety and at some times some great sales (if they have stock).

Great selection and great prices for firearms and ammo. However, accessories are lacking and overpriced. Much better off buying mags, slings, sights online. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. One of the best places to go if you want to buy AR upper and lowers.

Firearms, sporting goods, fishing gear, hunting gear...an outdoorsman paradise. They manufacture their own brand of rifles at prices that cant be beat. The quality gives the bigger name brand firearms a run for the money. Best of all, its all made in the USA. Theres always a daily or closeout special. You can order online and pick it up in the store when it arrives. The Summerville location has an indoor range and offers 10% off a range membership for active and retired LEOs. Ask for Flash(Thats what they call him, its true) Hes knowledgeable, extremely polite and helpful. They offer concealed carry courses for those interested. Theres several locations. Check it out online and find the nearest one to you. You wont be disappointed.
