The people there are beyond helpful & welcoming! I came in with a fat list of items that a friend wanted for her new place & the person there was generous with their time to gather all the items & discuss any necessary details. They were kind enough to share their recommendations on products as well.Every time you go in there, they help you make the most informed decisions for your needs. And as of the few times Ive made purchases, the items are of high quality. I recommend bringing your own mason jars & containers. I found it helpful to scope out their stock before coming in to get refillable items.Check out their website which represents most items that they hold in their store -- school supplies, household items, etc.
I Love Sustainable Haus. Ive been trying to find ways of reducing plastic and packaging in my life. Janette is so knowledgeable and makes it easy to refill my shampoo, cleaning supplies and even sunscreen. I love how she re-purposes used textiles into useful and beautiful items as well. The unpaper towels are fantastic! I highly recommend and wish more people would refill at her store to reduce their plastic footprint. Also, her Summit Store has FREE PARKING!!!
Here a nice lady sells the best, most effective soap Ive ever used. Great. I highly recommend this place. Five stars!
The staff was very kind and helpful when I came to visit. One employee recommended a lavender shampoo and conditioner and it’s the best shampoo/conditioner I’ve ever used! This store is much larger than the other zero waste stores I’ve been to (household items only, no pantry). They also do a stand at the Summit farmer’s market. I look forward to returning!
I initially went for the knife sharpening service, which happened to be very good, and saw the contents of the store. I loved the items in the store. I also saw the great selection of mask that were available and bought some. The masks have one of the most comfortable ear loops I’ve worn and I was able to buy some with a nose piece (which helps reduce foggy glasses!). Jannette was also very nice accommodating. Customer service is great! Highly recommend checking the store out.
Highly recommend going. we found such great items there that have helped our family to become eco friendly. great selection and good prices.
Just stopped in and we could not have been happier with the experience. This is the closest thing to a one stop sustainable shop! Owner and employee were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Give this place a try if you have thought about trying to live a more sustainable life.
A socially and environmentally conscious store with a great assortment of merchandise. Cleaning products, homewares, cosmetics and baby clothes, along with self care products (a great assortment of masks!) line the shelves. Im a big fan of the masks, towels, napkins, market baskets. Its always fun to talk to the owner-- Janette -- about her work with the Greater Newark Conservancy. Found some nice e presents there too!
This store is fantastic. The staff is uber friendly and very knowledgeable about the products. This is the perfect refill shop for your house essentials and items to be more ecologically friendly. They have the best homemade masks to be found. They come in multiple sizes, tons of patterns, and fit properly. The best is that the elastic ear loops are soft and the adjusters don’t move. Once you have your prefect fit, it stays even when you wash them. Highly recommend.
Adorable store that has definitely taken good COVID precautions (they offer a sink for patrons to wash their hands if they want to touch any products). Wide range of products, I bought a reusable pad and a cute mask. The products are about as much (or cheaper) ones that you can find online would be but you can cut out the shipping cost (and the shipping gas lol) so its cheaper and still more environmentally friendly. The owner is very friendly and would recommend for anyone to check out!
