Sales:Promises made are promises NOT kept. Making sure money is exchanged and contracts are signed are high priority. Not showing up on time for appointments without communicating the deviation with the customer seems to be acceptable customer service practices. Making delivery promises and then turning off your phone when the customer tries to inquire the status of delivery to only have the customer find out it was never the sales department place to make such promises as it is the service departments responsibility where they have no ability to make time of day commitments also seems to be acceptable. In a world where time is money, I would have planned out my week to accommodate this if it was communicated properly.Update:My wife just got the call that the tractor will arrive between 5-6 pm... 6-10 hours beyond the promised delivery time. Left one message with the sales person and with the service department (they are the ones who coordinate pick ups and deliveries) looking for information 4 hours ago (12 p.m.) and still no call back. They close at 5 p.m. I dont expect any service. Makes me doubt this companys ability to properly assist any customers needs. Not to mention the fact I was not able to get the supplies needed to complete the projects planned for this weekend. The lack of communication is appalling and unacceptable.

I purchased my little tractor over 5 years ago. Love the tractor, sales department is very helpful, parts department is very helpful, BUT the service department office staff is TRASH. (I have had no issues with the actual repairs). After waiting 8 weeks (wait time for repairs has always been excessive) to get in to take care of a few minor warranty repairs, they then continued to have my tractor for another 3 weeks (promised it back in two). Their excuse was that the entire transmission needed to be removed for the repair. When i got it back there was still dirt and debris in place that would have been clean if the transmission was actually removed. I am a heavy equipment mechanic and I know what extent of work was needed to complete the warranty repairs. The staff straight up lied to me about what needed to be done to cover up not delivering on time. I am looking at upgrading to a larger tractor this summer, but because of this I am going somewhere else to purchase my new tractor along with my parts and service needs.

I bought an X370 mower w/ bags today from a salesman by the name of Jared, although I never once got the salesman feel at all. Jared knew his equipment well & was consistently providing straight forward answers to my questions, without leaning me one way or the other. I was never influenced or misled, & I greatly appreciated that. If you are looking to buy a John Deere, I would highly recommend asking for Jared. I will be returning for years to come! The rest of the staff I dealt with throughout the process were pleasant & helpful as well.

I want to personally thank the staff at Pape’ Machinery in Sumner, WA for the excellent customer service and the quality of the repair work done on my John Deere LT155 lawn tractor. I dropped it off and explained the issue I was having and asked if they could take a look and contact me with an estimate. The service staff member asked me if I would be ok with leaving my tractor there for at least a few weeks as they are very busy during the summer season and, like everyone else in the world, are struggling with supply chain issues thanks to the pandemic. I really appreciate honesty and transparency and being a realist, I of course said that the time frame was fine and went home. A few days later I received a call from Mirabella with my estimate which was a reasonable figure for the repair needed. Less than a week after that I received another call saying that my little buddy was ready to come home. When I arrived to pick up my tractor I was amazed. WOW, the service guys not only fixed the machine but they also cleaned it up and had it looking better than ever! I’m now back to mowing my yard like a boss and very grateful that I can once again use my push mower only for the edges and hard to reach spots instead of the bulk of the work like I had to when my tractor was brokendown.Thank you, Pape’ staff, you over delivered!Jason H.

Front staff and parts counter were awesome and got me the parts i needed. The lawn mower sales guy didnt even approach me while i was in the market for a new Honda Mower. I guess i didnt look like the ideal customer, they looked over at me a few times but continued to discuss with eachother about fishing... Finally, i said, I guess Ill just purchase a Honda from Lowes since nobody will help me. the guys got up and one of them walked towards me... I flashed my wallet, said, too, late and bought an HRX 217 from lowes later that day.Store was nice, i just felt categorized.

Horrible customer service. My father went and purchased a new 3033 utility tractor and upgraded the bucket to a 60” 4 in 1 bucket. After a few uses, it just didn’t seem to be working as well as it should. We checked the bucket and turns out it was a smaller bucket for the 1 and 2 series tractor. Not his larger tractor. We contacted his sales guy Jason who only said it would take awhile to sort out. It’s been over a month with no solution and absolutely no communication. We’ve tried to contact Jason several times with no luck. So we tried to turn to the general manager but unfortunately has gotten nowhere. My father has paid for everything and it is beyond frustrating the lack of care from this location. He just wants what he paid for so he can get back to his projects safely.UPDATE:I fully understand things are crazy with shipping and inventory these day. After writing this review there’s more to add. We finally were able to speak with someone who said ok the next step is getting it in here. Ok that’s great! They never set a date or spoke in regards as to when that would be. Or if it would get picked up or if we needed to bring it to them. A few days later my dad goes outside only to find his tractor is gone! In a panic, he thought someone stole it (there’s some sketchy people down the road) so he calls the cops! While he’s doing that, my thought was to call you guys. And sure enough, you guys had it picked up. The manager said he left it up to the sales guy, Jason to inform my dad of the pickup. But he never did. So now they have the tractor and they’re trying to sort it all out. My dad gets a phone call from someone in the service department trying to put the blame on him. At this point, the frustration is getting on overload. I called and left some messages. I probably wasn’t sounding the nicest. Which, never helps any situation. But the wrong was not my fathers, so to have someone call and point the finger at him just blew my mind. After all that, I was finally assured that it would be taken care of ASAP and they apologized. So that was nice. What they put my dad through is just unprofessional. My dad is one of the most understanding and forgiving people around. And just spent over $50,000 at your store. I really do appreciate that they are finally getting this taken care of. I really hope someone takes the time to speak to the sales guy. He cannot treat people the way he has. There has to be better communication. I’m thankful this is getting taken care of and not dragging on. Unfortunately because of the long list of issues with this location no one in our family will be going back to this location.

Worst sales experience ever. Purchased a X330 mower plus bagger attachment from a salesman, Jason Johnson. Was guaranteed it could be delivered when convenient, Any day of the week. After payment, come to find out they would only deliver on Tuesdays. Which was acceptable. After speaking with Jason Johnson on the phone about the delivery date, which he was very rude about, I left a message twice about what date to deliver it. Mower got dropped off on the wrong date, I wasnt home to receive with instructions on how to operate. would never purchase from this store again... Especially Jason Johnson

Left my gas cap off after filling the gas tank on my john deere rider by accident. Didnt take long before I started having fuel supply issues. Took my rider down to these guys to get fixed. They had to take the fuel tank out and clean it, replace the fuel line and fuel filter. Now its back in business working like a champ.

I bought a lawn mower S120 with a bagger last Saturday from this store, and while we were driving home one of the bags flew off the bagger. I had called the store multiple times and left several messages, but no one ever got back to me. After waiting three days, I went to the store and spoke with Adam who was least interested to help me. I asked him why they didnt inform me to remove the bag before driving, to that all he said was, I dont know this happens, I cant help you and you wont get a free bag. It wasnt about the free bag, but about how he treated me. He was not polite nor did he try to sympathize to my situation. I will never recommend this location to anyone. Adam completely lacks customer service skills, he is the worst sales man I have ever met. I would give zero star if possible.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. DO NOT take your lawn mower here for service. Poor, poor, poor customer service starting with the manager down. They had my mower for over 3 months. I had to call, email, etc. to get updates. When it was finally delivered, the blades would not engage. I had to wait another few days for them to come and pick it up. Turns out the tech neglected to hook up the electricity to the blades. I was promised the mower back that next Friday. It was not delivered. They had no idea where my mower was...if it was on a truck, in the shop, etc. It arrived the next day. I left a message stating my displeasure with the service and quality of communication with the service manager, and he didnt even have the decency to call me back. I will NEVER take a mower back to them.

Where do I start with the bad customer service? From leaving my name and number for parts department to call me back which they never did call back... To the less than personable parts man that gave me every reason in the world why he couldn’t help me. Finally got him to understand if he would listen for a minute I have the information to help me. Only help I got was a part # that was obsolete and not available.. if I didn’t challenge the guy, I would never have even got the part #. This is the second horrible service experience from this location. I will pay shipping and order elsewhere for future needs.

Went in to get a service done a customers lawnmower... Bad experience from the beginning... No one told me that I should have kept the key with me so I left it with them... And then when I go to pick it up they lost the key spent 45 mins looking for a key that would work... And the whole time there both ladys were rude and telling me this is why you should have kept the key with you... And why we dont take keys...

My experience was really great at first when it was Washington tractor but it took them three weeks to get my LT 160 finished which I was totally ok with because of the transition -they were supposed to check it all out give it a little tuneup check the fluids etc. new battery almost $1300 they brought it back and the next day I went to go to mow and the mower blades wouldn’t engage so I called 3 o’clock (they close at 5) no one to help figure it out? They said they would have somebody call me back the next day I waited till noon called and got a voicemail no return call so I called back at 3:30 no one’s there to help again waited till 5 nothing- They are very nice but no solution so now im waiting over the weekend Not very good service it seems!

Horrible service. Would leave zero stars if possible.-Had my tractor and lawnmower for almost a month to do basic service and repair. Quoted $1500 for work, show up and they tried to charge me $2500.-Can never reach anyone in the Service Department, they don’t return voicemails. I had to call for every update, they never called me once.-Left a voicemail with the Service Manager, never received any response.-The receptionist sent an email to the GM and Service Manager about the lack of communication and updates on my equipment, never got a response.-Picked up my equipment, lawnmower had been left outside for the entire time, tractor too. Lawnmower had trouble starting then wouldn’t shut off, and they didn’t hook up the PTO for the mower deck on my tractor. Terrible quality assurance.Won’t be back.

I first went to Washington Tractor around 2/1/20 to check out John Deere Riding Mowers. Hans greeted me and asked what I was looking for. I had read about the different models and wasnt sure which one I would be most happy with. From my research I was interested in the 240S or the X300 series. By what I told Hans how the mower would be used, He thought I would be most happy with the X350. At that point I told him I was not ready to buy but would be back in mid March to make a decision on one or the other. I read everything I could about every model of J D riding mower and had decided the 350R was probably the one I would buy. That was at the end of March and the store was not open to traffic because of the virus. I called Hans and he said he could handle everything over the phone. He did not have the 350R put together but said he would get it done that day and I could come out and look at if I wanted the next day.The X350R was considerably more expensive than the X350. When I called Hans back I told him I was not sure which one would work best for me. After asking Hans several questions about each he thought I would be most happy with the X350. I thought there was some extras that I would like to add and he advised me which was a good idea and which were not saving me several dollars. The really good news he gave me a $300 discount that JD had at the time that I knew about but didnt have to ask for. Bottom line is I paid about $800 less for the X350 than I thought I would have to in February mostly due to the JD discount and some additions I thought I needed but came standard and using a sales tax for the area I live in which was 2% cheaper than Summers. Ask for Hans to purchase your equipment needs. You will be happy you did. Everything will be honest and straight forward with no pressure to buy.Charles Waggoner

Okay folks, now THIS is the reason you first visit Washington Tractor and not the big orange store etc. when you want a quality lawn tractor. After doing much online research for what I thought would be the perfect machine for our 2+ acres of grass, I went to their Sumner store to do some tire-kicking. I knew what features I wanted, and Hans listened to my “wish list” and quickly had some great suggestions and advice that led me toward a much better option — a model that was NOT what you’d typically find at the big box stores. Despite the expected inventory challenges due to the pandemic, they had one there for me to check out.He pointed to a model with more upgrade capabilities, tougher construction, double the warranty, and how it happened to be on sale to even make it a comparable price to what I was initially considering. I’m sure I would have been “okay“ with the other model, but the knowledge and advice I got on the spot was excellent. After discussing options with Hans, it was truly a “well duh” moment.After loading it up and hauling it home, this beast of a machine zipped across the fields in half the time it took my old clunker to do it. My wife was impressed that our less-than-perfect pasture looks like a golf course now. This Deere is definitely better than “okay.” Not only is this my first brand new lawn tractor, but my first John Deere and I already treasure this fine piece of engineering. I’m actually looking forward to the pesky grass growing this time so I can go buzz it again. In addition, I learned that parts, service, and advice were readily available if I need it, whether I have their staff handle it or if I just needed some DIY guidance. I love this machine, and having confidence in Washington Tractor makes owning it that much better.I was that guy that just needed a little trustworthy advice, and I’m happy I found that at this store. Took advantage of the Service before the end of the year special. They picked up my mower in December, now its 3/16/20 and I had to call them and ask if it was ready. Yes, its been ready since February and we called you - well, I didnt have any calls or follow up from them that it was ready or else I would of had it picked up. They need better customer service in their service department to let people know about what their doing to their equipment.

I was helped by Adam Daspit about 3 months ago. Disclosure: I do know him in my personal life. I have some tractor knowledge from growing up on a farm, and his knowledge was deep and helped me fill in the blanks. I still love using the tractor and lawn mower he recommended. He was also great with my 3 year old, who’s mission was to sit on every single tractor possible. I also enjoyed his passion for tractors, it’s more than just a sale for him. I had some work done on my chainsaw cost me $237. Yeah, I should have bought a new one but, instead, I havent repair this one... when I got it home, I fired it up and it would not stay running I took it back to them and they charged me 115 more dollars for a gas cap and one hour labor. Yes I should not have to say this but, I was really torqued off. They seem to be a rip-off as far as Im concerned. No, I will not do business there again. I hope you have a good day.

We ordered all the belts we needed for both of our mowers. We purchased bothmowers from this company. We gave all of the pertinent information ( ie x300 mower with 42 deck, x500 48 deck), and they sold us one belt. The mowers need 3 belts between them. I went to pick the items we ordered, and they gave me ONE belt. I informed them I needed three belts. After an hour of back and forth, I left with four belts somehow. Two of them were correct. It it too bad this is the only game in town.

Washington Tractor, has a great solution of JD, Sthil and a few other things. Some items are standard pricing across all dealer. I would recommend that you go and find a staff member who you like and only deal with them just to keep yourself from being overwhelmed.

Han is hands down the best sales rep in the store. We came in with our fussy baby. Han was great and telling us what the best deals were, showed us some of his favorites and even worked with us. Our baby was a bit fussy and he dint mind. Han didnt pressure and made sure we got exactly what we were there for.. A TRACTOR to get the job done. Even when we come in for extra accessories he is always so nice, ready to help and by far the BEST sales man we have ever met. We purchased an X570 John Deere Lawn tractor from Jason and had a great experience. After using it once, we had 2 problems so they picked it up and took it in for repair. They returned it to us and we had another issue with one of the problems. My husband asked that since these problems were related to a manufacturing issue and no fault of theirs, would it be possible to turn in this one for a different one. Yesterday they delivered another new tractor that appears to be without any of the problems. Great customer service, no hassles, very professional.

Had to give 1 star in order to process when really I wanted zero stars. My clutch went out on my John Deere 790, my nephew called 2 weeks ago asking what the price to fix it would be and was told 20 hrs of labor and between $600-$800 for the actual clutch. So the total estimate was between $3000-3500. My nephew decided he could do the labor himself, so before we started the project I called to confirm the price and was told again 20 hrs labor and $800 for actual clutch so total about $3000- $3500. So we decide to tackle the project ourselves, took the tractor apart, took out the clutch and then drove over an hour to get the clutch that we thought was going to be $800. When we got to the dealer we were informed that the price was $2600 for the clutch if we didnt pay for the labor. And they said the labor was probably 10 hrs . So now my tractor is torn apart and I will have to pay their blackmail price which is 3 times what they quoted. Come to find out, John Deere doesnt make these parts, so we went to Tacoma Clutch and Brake who sold us the parts for $250.00. So be aware that John Deere jacks up the price every chance they get. We understand they have to make a profit but 10 times the price???? Even at the $800 price, that was way too high. So now we will paint our tractor orange and NEVER promote John Deere again. When families come to our farm here at JIMS U-FISH and the kids want to ride the tractor, we will be sure the logo has been changed to Kubota.Jim Pruitt

Dont bring anything to their service department if you have any other options. I brought an edger to them because it quit running. After hearing nothing back for over two weeks, I called the service department but no one would answer. I left a message and got not call back. I called again and sat on hold for 10 minutes but still no one would answer in the service department. I called back again and they put me through to the service manager. He then put me on hold for another 5 minutes only to tell me that the parts alone needed to repair my edger cost more than the edger did new! He said the carburetor was clogged (which I has just cleaned out) and it needed a new it needed a new coil among other misc parts. And to top it off after all of my time they wasted the manager wanted to charge me $45 for diagnosing the problem. Sorry guys, Ill never be back...

They will look right past you and help someone thats just came in that they know by name, I find this very rude. The good thing is the product is great last long time, if not for that I would never go back. Most of the workers are very pleasant when you finely get helped. If they could improve their timelines would be a much better. They are very expensive but lasts a long time. All depends upon what youre looking for. Dont go there unless you have plenty of time to wait.I also find my lawnmower is very rough riding compared to husqvarna ones

The worst customer service experience I have ever had to deal with from a dealer.They dont like to call you back and the receptionists dont understand anything and arent helpful just give you the run around and only care to transfer you to someone else non stop. Would not recommend doing business at the sumner store!

Great service from Hans in sales. Glad I chose Washington Tractor over the big box stores to purchase my lawn tractor. Hans steered me in the right direction and got me a much nicer tractor for nearly the same price as the cheaper model lawn tractors at the big box store. I was in and out in less than an hour - and saved $300 in discounts for military veterans. Thanks!

I visited the Sumner location on Saturday the 28th. I was READY TO BUY a riding mower, but hadnt decided between the E, S and X series. I wanted to hear what the real differences were other than the warranty. I came in around 2PM. The store was pretty busy, so I went over to the Sales stand in the middle of the store and put my name on the list. I spent the next hour waiting for a sales person, which, I understand, it was a busy Saturday after-all, no problem.Finally my name was called. My sales person walks up, doesnt introduce himself, doesnt even shake my hand. Just says What can I do for you?. I extend my hand, introduce myself and tell him that I am interested in buying a mower. He sees that I am already holding the price sheet, says something to the effect of Well, those are our prices.I tell him I am undecided between the 3 different series and that I am looking for some more information to make a decision. He keeps answering me in 1-2 word responses. No offer to take me out and show me the differences. Starts with just The difference is the quality and durability. Every answer was like prying words out of him. He didnt even mention the differences in the frames or warranties until asked directly about them.Frankly, the WORST sales experience ever. This guy didnt care a lick about my business.I actually left without buying and I was highly motivated to get this done this weekend. I will driving down to portland next weekend to purchase from the next closest dealer based on this terrible experience. Unfortunately for the dealer, they will also not be getting my business on the compact tractor I intend to purchase in September either.

Two different mowers repaired and both do not work when brought home. Apparently no one checks to see if repairs are done properly before the mower leaves the shop. Now both mowers returned and waiting again to see if repairs are done AGAIN. Rest assured I will do a function check of mower before I haul it back home to Enumclaw. I had assumed that they would be very good at tuning and repairing John Deere lawn mowers. More could be added to this review that puts them in an even worse light but will leave it at that for now.

We have purchased all of our John Deere mowers and Stihl from them. We purchased a Stihl weed eater (battery operated) when we were relocating to another state. Unit seized up during second use. We wanted a refund (spent over $400 for it). Sumner said the best they can do is fix it and charge us over $50 dollars to ship. We are done. They dont stand behind their customers. They dont offer any discounts so its not that we got a great deal.

Hans in Sales is awesome! It matters to him what the customer thinks they need. He met with Grandpa first. Together they dialed in on another lawn tractor vs a zero turn mower. Power steering was a must have for Grandma. Hans suggested four wheel steering as well for our challenging curved concrete borders. Grandma arrived the following day for a test drive. The combination features are impressive. The adjustable steering wheel is a plus. I shared photos of our fully landscaped acre with Hans, which confirmed the X394 with power flow and chute would perfectly fit our needs. Hans noticed how I was positioning my foot driving around the parking lot. It was incorrect and would cause foot pain afterwards. Im only 5 feet tall. He mentioned the importance of proper lawn shoes! Who does that? Soo....out with the old GT 235 we purchased from Washington Tractor ten years ago. This Grandma has a new set of blades!!! Thanks-a-million Hans

I’d like to say I received poor service, but I didn’t receive any service whatsoever. Hovered around the Stihl equipment for about 30 minutes waiting for some assistance, but nothing - I felt invisible. Wasn’t event greeted when I walked in the door.Was ready to spend money, and would have if someone would’ve made the effort to sell me something. I may go back, but probably not.Edit: Was contacted by Washington Tractor shortly after the original post and was directed to the manager who made things right.Additional Edit (5/20): Decided to go back and purchase more Stihl equipment based on the work that the store manager did to earn my business - but was ignored again. Zero acknowledgement that I was there, and no greetings from anyone working there. They mustve known i wasnt there for a $5000 piece of equipment. Ill be headed to Sumner Lawn and Saw to see if the customer service is any better. Total shame.

We were there to buy a tractor after doing our research online, and came here for the purchase. The only reason I am giving four stars is because there was quite a wait for the sales department, without anywhere to sit. Instead, we just wondered the store for 30 minutes.Update: 5/17/18, we still do not have our tractor and the communication with the sales person has been nearly non-existent. Any communication we have had, we had to initiate.Update 9/11/2018: As someone else said before, do not bring anything to the service department. That department has had possession of my new tractor longer than I have. Enough said.Update 10/16/2018: I finally have my tractor back after over 5 MONTHS in the service department. Communication is terrible if not abscent to the customer, and between the departments which is possibly why it took so long to complete my repairs.

I experienced the worst customer service when dealing with WA Tractor. First they prepared an estimate for my lawnmower but never called me to give me the estimate and get the work started. I finally called them after not hearing from them after 1.5 weeks only to find out the estimated had been completed for a week and my lawn mower had been sitting in their lot collecting dust.Next, they couldn’t get the warranty claim processed correctly and tried to charge me for work that was covered by my warranty. I had to call the warranty company myself to sort it out and do their work for them. The person who processes their warranty claims was never in the office when I called.Lastly, when my lawn mower was finally ready they didn’t call me and again I finally called and realized my lawn mower had been completed for days and no one called me. It took over 5 weeks to get my lawn mower repaired.

STAY AWAY!!!! Worst retail experience of the year! Jason Johnson was argumentative and not helpful at all. Everything seemed to be a huge burden. Everything was a cant or we dont do that or I cant guarantee that without offering any solutions or compromise. Not only that, but he talked down to my wife like she was a 4 year old. Take your business to somewhere where they will actually help you and answer your questions and want your business.Update: We were able to contact the Sales Manager and he was able to get us what we originally asked for. Giving an additional star for his service, but still only a two star since we shouldnt have had to deal with this at all in the first place.
