HUGE VARIETY OF INDO-PAK GROCERIES INCL WIDE VARIETY OF FRESH MEAT. HOWEVER SERVICE NEEDS IMPROVEMENTS IN MANY AREAS.
Very dishonest.Got plainly cheated by the meat counter guy. I was a regular until I caught them cheating red handed and he started acting like he does not speak English. Now, will never go there again.Besides, quite filthy and unhygienic meat counters compared to other Indian groceries stores in the area. The front guys are often very mean to the people cutting meat in the back.Very unpleasant experience. Can’t take it anymore. Goodbye for ever.
UPDATE: It gets worse...Ive stopped into this market a few times since writing the review below to see if things changed. Ive seen several employees using their masks as chin-warmers and Produce Man still with no mask at all. The last time I stopped in, Produce Man had two friends/colleagues in the produce section - one also completely maskless - who were first chatting and joking around with him, and then started EATING FOOD RIGHT THERE IN THE PRODUCE SECTION while Produce Man went about his maskless business of stocking the fresh fruits and vegetables.Goodbye, Taj Mahal Market. I will NEVER shop here again, and I recommend no one else does either.________________Maskless employees handling the produce.I really like this market, and I previously gave it a 4-star review, but every time I go in here now there is at least one maskless employee. Today I saw two; the man providing customer service at the front counter, and the man stocking the fresh produce. Produce man NEVER has a mask on. Today I approached him and asked if he is an employee, he said yes. I asked why then he was not masked, and he said he said, Oh no, I have one, and pointed to his hip pocket. I said, No, you have to wear it, and he again pointed to his pocket, as if he believed that were actually sufficient. Unless the man is some sort of space alien who breathes through his hip - in which case I apologize and bid you welcome to Earth - the mask in his pocket is not going to cut it. Especially if hes handling food that other people are going to take away elsewhere and eat it and feed it to others. We ALL need to do our part right now and do the responsible thing, so that we can all get back to a world where a slight little inconvenience like wearing a mask in the grocery market isnt necessary. Taj Mahal Market, if you want your 4-star review back, or my continued business, then get with the program and do the right thing.
Very convenient n nicely laid out. Neat place.
This was my first visit. Meat corner sucks, extremely slow. Orders handled randomly irrespective of where you stand in the line. I’ll prefer going to the Taj Mahal in Santa Clara. This is one terrible experience.
This is our go to shop. We shop for groceries / vegetables from Taj Mahal Fresh Market every month. Vegetables are always fresh and we can find all kinds of vegetables and fruits here. Also, they have all types of groceries here. For meat lovers, they have a large meat section as well.
Good Indian store. You get all required items. It would be great if they can have vegetarian kitchen too and some tea, samosa and pakoda for snacks.
Filthy store. Scary meat counter. Cleaning the display glass would be a good start. This place needs a deep cleaning and updates.
Last week bought goat meat here, after coming home I smelled it. It was really bad so I have throw it awayI don’t think they maintain temperature properly
*Update: theyve added price tags to almost all shelves, the freezer price tags are a bit messy still but appreciate the effort! Its open, employees and customers have to wear a mask. There were surprisingly many Turkish ingredients from yufka to turkish delight to biber salcasi.Be careful: Most items dont have a pricetag so you cant know the price of the item until you go to the counter...They need to fix this super annoying behavior.Wasnt crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The prices are okay-ish, for everyday items it may be cheaper to shop elsewhere but for special items like Turkish food it was $1-2 cheaper compared to buying online so Ill be returning for more once I compare with the other nearby Turkish/MiddleEastern stores nearby. For reference a jar of Tukas domates salcasi $3.99, Tukas biber salcasi $4.99 cant remember the size but its the regular sized jar for both biber and domates.
Ideal place to get fresh halal meat, vegetables, fruits and groceries. They have lots of varieties in frozen food section. They have seasonal deals on certain products. Most of the products have price tag on it. Maintenance of the store is pretty clean and tidy. Better to go during the weekdays to avoid crowd and long queues at billing counter. 👍✌️
I started going to this market from last year and I like the produce section. It is not so crowded and people keep distance . It has a high ceiling and the area is very big so it feels open. The products in the store are good quality and they have both vegetarian and non vegetarian stuff. The people on the store are very helpful. I would recommend this store if you want to get groceries.
Meat is really very good . I love the roaster chicken. Goat mat is also very good quality. You can get what you any all different cuts are available. Goat legs, liver, heart, bones. Everything is available fresh. Must visit
Big store and meat is fresh but seemed a little unhygienic. During covid they didn’t follow any restrictions. Wasn’t cleaning shopping carts regularly. But they carry good amount of producta
The MEAT section is like garbage....no hygiene I am afraid to buy anything from there....moreover the employees in the meat section he is not handling people well...Not a pleasant experience...
I like some of the workers here there really nice. I just like to say thank you for being very helpful.
Best Pakistani store. You always find Pakistani stuff here
You can find almost everything you need here. Various kind of bread, meat, cheese, spices. The only concern is organizing the place. I think they have the ability to reorganize everything in a better way.
Nice fresh veggies and meats. They ramped up this store so everything’s nicely organised and staff are very helpful
Wonderful choice of fresh vegetables, fruits and meats! I really love this store.
You can find all the Indian grocery items that you need in this store with less crowd than other stores in Bay area. If you go at the right time, fresh vegetables are also available. Meet section has good variety as well.
Love the fact that I can get the best fruits: orange, mango and lychee. They are also the only butchers who sell de-skinned cut chicken for indian chicken curry. Their goat meat is also good quality.
Be very careful when ordering the meat from this place. Last time I ordered chicken drumsticks, they are almost rotten to the point when I opened the bag after returning home I had to put the air freshener on all over the kitchen. Dont get sick!
One major reason to visit this place is to get fresh meat. They cut it as you like which is great!
Love this store! GREAT PRICES!!!MUST CHECK OUT!!!!
Very spacious and welorganized for a desi store. Halal meats section offers a wide variety of meat selection.
Not professional acts like they are still in India also they need to learn English if i tell them i need this to be done they do opposite i wont give the any rating only one star sorry TAJ you are not Mahal
Fresh veggies, standard quality meat with the butcher, and there is no rush so its safe to visit
Best place for grocery and fresh halal meat
They have everything at very fair prices,Halal meat, fresh produce, groceries from India, Pakistan, middle east and more.
Great grocery store for international groceries and items hard to find elsewhere. Price are probably the best for this type of stores. Lots of parking space, and store is spacious inside making it easy to shop in the weird era of covid, whereas other stores of the kund are ususlly crammed in a small space. Ice is also available in case you have a long drice after shopping. Furthermore, being an Indian store, they are never short of spices of all types.
Taj Mahal Fresh Market- as name suggests it’s a place for fresh Vegetables. You will also find huge collections of Spices and pulses.Indian basmati rice,Sona Masuri Rice,Red Rice,Indian Vegetables are available here.Place for meat for lovers too, Halal Chicken,Lamb and Beef also sold here.Over all it’s a good place for grocery shopping.
Lots of variety and selection of stuff you would expect at an ethnic grocery store. Somewhat confusing to navigate and hard to find stuff but overall pretty good
Was good .. but meat smell lingers in all the store
This one has gone through many different owners, the previous one was an Arab dude who was super cool & used to tell me he got 1000 lbs of the finest pork riblets, and how to cook them - Id bring him some of my special recipe riblets after I BBQd them. Also, it was catered to a wider Asian ethnic group ranges, from Arabic, Filipino, Chinese, and of course, Indian, versus right now its owned by a short Indian fellow whos also cool but not as engaging as the previous, so my shopping experience isnt as enjoyable, as I used to look forward to going there, if only just to talk to the owner. The meat department is drastically reduced, since most likely theyre catering to Desi clienteles, and many are vegetarians, so they dont need to carry so many varieties as the Arabic owner did.Theyve got lots of Indian spices, but the best buys are probably the fragrant: White & Red onions for the same price at 39¢/lb, come on NOW 💪💪💕😊😊🤞👍👍❣️♥️💝💗💗💘💘 They got some fruits, but the prices can swing quite wide, so watch out when you go. Also, because they dont sell as much as produce store like Felipe Market, so their fruits tend not as fresh, because little turnover on them; vegetables are much fresher, as all ethnicity buy them!
People be very careful at the meat department. I got some goat and asked the guy to cut it. The guy at the back was cutting beef and with the same hand gloves he started cutting the goat and in the same machine where he cut the beef.Be careful especially Indians who don’t eat beef.
Close to 101 and great assortments
Nice place friendly staff good owner
Poorly maintained meat section...NOT GOOD
Very poorly maintained ... wont recommend
Very spacious and good variety of products. Reasonable prices. You can get grocery and meat at one place. So many meat options and fresh too atleast over weekends for sure.
Clean! Lots of space for social distancing. Good selection of products. Good butcher shop!!
So so slow. The service is slow and bad. The meat line took 30 mins and check out took 15 mins
This one is the favourite of all os us fanatics over the time. Often going their for good meat and fowl. Even the other one too. I have given review for that too. I liked their outside kiosks selling seasonal, traditional desert items.
I occasionally shopped here in the past and noticed the slow change to an international food emporium. The store is huge and has a warehouse feel. You can easily find Middle Eastern, Indian, and Hispanic/Latin food items. Some food items are in large quantities. The produce area is small and does not offer a large selection but does have popular international items.Because the building is older it appears less appealing.I like the newly built Rose International Market in Mountain View more, mostly for aesthetics, carry the same kinds of items.
Very poor quality of products and a bad customer service
Lots of varieties of fresh cut chicken, lamb and mutton meat.
Lots of meat option. It is much bigger store than one on the El Camino.
I loved shopping at this place when we lived close by. Such variety of all products, and sooo inexpensive!
This place is my goto for fresh meat. On weekend mornings it gets crowded. It is for a reason for sure. Meat is very fresh and sell good country chicken as well.
Every indo pakistani food item is here alongwith a large selection of fruits & vegetables. Usually not crowded at all.
Spacious mart. Cleanly arranged racks.
I only go here for meat. This store needs properly maintenance. I see some vegetables go bad and staff doesnt care.
Great variety of imported mediterranean and middle east products, fresh produce and affordable prices
They have unique seasonal fruits which are hard to find in other stores. I found cherimoya, passion fruit, guava, lichi, rambutan, jackfruit to name a few
Found all the veggies, fruits and other necessary groceries here. This is a big place. Much larger than the Santa Clara one or any other Asian store. They sell halal meat as well which seems to be of good quality and great variety. The have a large selection of vegetables and you will surely find all or most of your grocery right here. Thats the best part.
Give them moneyyyy
This is a great neighborhood grocery store. The items change frequently so it is unpredictable exactly what they will have available on any given day, but they often have high quality organic foods and great prices.
Worst experience after standing in line for 1/2 hour and going to counter they refuse to give the meat.Worst service, worst management
I really like the market, everything is fresh, good quality!
Every thing before but from last couple of months I have noticed meet section employees behavior is rude and unprofessional. Sometimes they show frustration and yelled at me for no reason. I tried to reach management on this however I am checking for alternatives.
The main reason I like this store is for its fruit selection. They have all seasonal fruits and they taste amazing. The only thing I wish they was a more variety of brands to choose from.
Meat section is unhygienic, it was way better earlier .Overall very rude staff, unmanged shelves, you may not able to find many items as this is one big time unorganized store .
This is one of the most budgeted Punjabi/Desi food Supermarkets. Regular shopper since 2020 pendemic era.
Much more superior than other indian market. They have a section dedicated to mexican foods. The packaging are more understandable, more english names on them. Really wide space unlike other indian grocers that pack lots into a little space. Im very happy to have this place near by too.
Nice spacious store with good collection of Indian and middle eastern groceries. Great for for meat n fresh veggies and fruits too!
Busy place bought tea leaves and green tea
Meat is fresh, its an 8/10 on meat
Great store. Taj Mahal has lots of high quality groceries from across the world and yet the prices are very fair. Staff are always nice and helpful. I wish this store was more recognized and bigger.
No price tags on shelves. Prices are a little higher than apna bazar.
The Meat is the best here. Now the grocery collection is pretty good as well. Their previous location had long queues however this store is much spacious.
Sometimes products are expired - also be careful not everything that is sold there is halalThey are also very inefficient in the meat section - I spent 30 minutes waiting for a very small order while 3 workers where just working in 1 order in front of me. And people come who they know personally and cut in front of me and they take there orders first !!
Best place to go for Halal Meat in the Bay Area. Both locations Sunnyvale and Santa Clara.
Interesting place for non mainstream stuff, like jackfruit, Indian canned goods, etc.BUT the place is dirty, run down and a disinterested staff.
Fresh meat and everything in between!
I find this a decent Indian store to go to during covid times. The store is pretty spacious and aisles are well spaced too. Amazing Meat options.
My go-to for fresh produce and vegetables!
Check out hilsa fish. Superb!
Very dirty. There are way better Indian stores in the Bay Area than this one.
The best place for halal meats and ethnic grocery. Very polite owners. Husband and wife, always helpful and smiling.
Need more help at the meat counter. Staff is friendly.
Nice place to visit is you are searching for International food from Asia and middle eastern product. The prices are reasonable. The service is OK. the store is huge and multiple racks needs more items. In general I like this super market.
This is THE indian/pakistani grocery store to go to. I have always found everything here I couldnt find anywhere else.
Great place to shop, I highly commend this supermarket for all your shopping needs.
Large store, well stocked with almost everything you want from an Indian store, rice and lentils, ready to eat foods, snacks, fresh produce, frozen foods and has a separate meats section. Has wide aisles. Parking is enough and the store is easy to locate from the road. There is a take away section for fresh prepared foods (think it is all non vegetarian).
Good choice of vegetables and spices.
Good place to buy Halaal meat.
