This place has gotten kinda disappointing and slightly depressing tbh. I used to enjoy going here to see whats new in RC. Theyve moved a lot of the RC behind the counter so you cant even look at it. Its sad really this is why people shop online, if you cant look at it at the store why go to the store...

Went there to buy a high end RC truck for grand child. Employee leaning against counter totally ignored me while I tried to read boxes to learn about their products. Never asked if I needed help. Very poor customer service. I left and bought on line.

No DnD or MTG. Bare minimum Warhammer. Plenty of Hot Wheels and puzzles, though.

Horrible customer service. I called inquiring about doing curbside pickup as my family is high risk for complications from COVID. After explaining this, I was told Youll have to come in. I asked again if I could simply make payment over the phone and meet them outside and was again told No, you have to come inside to purchase. Pretty crummy business model to accommodate your potential customers. Thanks, but Ill shop online instead of bringing my business to you.

Worst Hobby Town location Ive been in. Staff couldnt care less about customers. Older blonde woman thats either a manager/owner ?? just as bad as the younger kids working there. Thank goodness for Real online hobby shops.

I build gunpla and this store has an excellent selection of SD, HG and RG kits. Not to mention all the other hobby stuff they have there. Excellent customer service also.

For a business with 3 employees and 3 customers (me and my wife counting as 2) we were ignored for nearly 30 minutes. It doesnt take 3 people to take care of 1 person... All I needed was to ask a few questions about a certain rc car before I dropped $700 on it but, couldnt even get the time of day. The main person in charge was more worried about her stand six feet apart papers she had tapped on the floor to help and the other 2 guys were more worried about the other cx. I wanted to buy local but, I will not spend money where I cant even get any help.

Upon arrival the two people who work there were nowhere to be found. One was sitting in a corner on their cell phone the other in the store room. There is NO ONE attending to the store. We had previously purchased a drone for use at our trip. Once we arrived we opened the box and found the drone had more than two of the screw holes stripped. The device obviously had been tampered with or returned. We could not assemble it. So within the 15 day return period we returned... They would not even EXCHANGE the device because they said no sorry you CHARGED THE BATTERY so we cant do anything... I feel like a victim of theft at a minimum truly insulted by how I was treated.. - and dont attempt to ask questions about anything in the store as you would be better off guessing.

This place is SO COOL! If youre looking for parts from RadioShack, this place has a lot of those items. Lots of model parts, paint, kids toys, local historical books. My family loves this place.

Really you call this a hobby shop, service is TERRIBLE, the children that wait on customers know nothing or any idea if they restock. They might be lucky to have One item of anything and never restocks, sounds like they are so cheap that they can’t fill their shelves PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME EVEN GOING IN THERE, it’s much cheaper to order on line and you can actually get the product !!!!

Huge selection at reasonable prices! The gentleman there spent a good amount of time explaining and investigating many products with me, helping me make a decision. A great place for fun, immediately gratifying purchases - rather than shopping online!!

Good selection but awful return / exchange policy. Purchased a $180 drone which stopped working properly in just three days. Was told that I would have to contact the manufacturer directly and try to get them to repair it. I really wanted to be able to support a locally owned business, however its really hard to justify going back when they dont seem to stand behind the products they sell.

I went there looking for a few items to assist me in improving my model ship builds. I was helped by a guy named Jerome. Jerome stayed with me, located the items that were in the store for me, suggested alternatives that might work better, informed me of how his suggestions worked based on his prior use on the same product and for the items not in stock suggested I could special order those items. He looked the items up, told me if the availability and filled out the order. His assistance was invaluable. Great guy and I look forward to shopping there again so two guys can share their experiences about their perspective hobbies.

Legit only local place to get gunpla and remarkably cheap

The owner hides. No big deal since he has NO PEOPLE SKILLS. You cant return ANYTHING once its opened, even if you find out you cant use it. The other employees are conscientious and try to be helpful, but you can tell the owner is an unfair tyrant that wants and probably needs money.We stopped buying things from here and we dont miss it. There is nothing that cant be gotten on line.WE HAD ACCUMULATED DISCOUNTS HE TOOK AWAY, because he didnt like our review!The prices on line are much lower. The service is better on line also, since a computer has a far-superior personality.Weve been getting our stuff from Amazon, and from other companies on line. There are many. The stuff is cheaper, and you dont feel so unwelcome .

I have been going to Hobby Town USA for about three to four years. They are awesome at customer service. Yes they might not have the part you need but they do offer a special order. The employees are good at what they do. And from a RC hobbyist they are great at showing you the options what what you would like.

Warning - no return policy. Unless the product is unopened, they do not accept returns under any circumstances. Bought a small RC car, stopped working after 3 days Sorry, you should have bought a better car was the answer we got. I get it wasnt the best thing in the world, but if it breaks after a few days of use in the house, thats absurd. Any big box store would replace it. I guess its back to the big box.

They do not care about customer satisfactionBe aware, the store owners won’t exchange an item if you have broken, peeled, scratched their pink Hobby Town sticker. No other packaging effected.Not even if the item is still in its factory packaging.Not even if the item remains sealed and sell-able.Not even if you want to exchange an item for something 3 times more expensive.They have a policy and they are sticking to it. It almost make you want to see this kind of business foolishness fail.If you have a question about anything RC related, the associates make a big deal about buying “local” and supporting small business, then they turn around a refuse to provide any type of customer service.Local stores usually stay competitive by providing knowledge and assistance. Hobby Town fails.I will never spend a dime in here again and I will make a point to tell people, at every opportunity, what a bunch of turds are running this place.FYI, most items in the store can be purchased on the internet for less money and can be returned without the shenanigans and attitude.

This shop used to have an excellent selection of model trains, locomotives, cars, and supplies but I recently went in and picked up some paints & styrene and found the selection of trains cars & locomotives, figures and other supporting supplies lacking. The staff has always been helpful but I’m finding that the restocking is virtually non-existent for most of the year. Wish they’d stock up again. Im not finding much reason to come back...pity.

They have the parts, but dont expect them to know what you need like these bad reviewers did. Research your hobby so you have a general idea and theyll point you in the right direction!

When i went to this store, the two older gentlemen working there were the most condescending, ignorant people I have ever spoken to. Every time we asked a question, they acted like they were annoyed and talked down to us. My boyfriend had an issue with calibrating his copter, and one of the guys said in a very snobbish manner that these copters do not have a calibrating system. He then continued on about the HUNDREDS of copters he has sold (why is this necessary? I believe he was trying to feed his ego) and went on and on about how we were wrong. We were not wrong btw, I found the official online manual for the product, complete with calibration steps and all.There is a certain way to talk to customers and this is definitely not it. My boyfriend and I are not confrontational people at all, just customers concerned with an item we paid for.These men need to get their head out of their asses and learn some basic customer service. Avoid this place at all costs. Unless you like being scoffed at.

It’s unfortunate, but recently my family had a bad experience with this stores management team. I heard from a colleague that the management team are actually the owners which is even more concerning. They were rude, condescending, accusatory and borderline threatening. There is no need for this sort of unprofessional behavior. Perhaps this was an isolated incident, but it was unacceptable. As a result we will not be doing business with Hobbytown in Tallahassee or Hobbytown nationally. We will find another supplier for our G scale railroad, remote control vehicles and aircraft. I hope they are able to change their behavior and treat other customers appropriately.

The staff was rude, talking amongst each other and very quick to get me out of their store. Obviously I wasnt worthy of their presence. I got what I wanted, thats worth a singluar star.

Ive been to a number of Hobbytowns, and this one is the worst when it comes to RC vehicles. O. K. Selection, but apathetic staff and owner. Thats sad, considering Tallahassee has its own RC Racetrack and airfield.

I bought a RC helicopter for a Christmas present & decided to return It un opened but they have a no refund policy & only offered a in store credit. So they made me an account an insured me that I could use it at any time when I came to purchase anything. But when I came to buy some touch up paint and brushes for a scratch on my truck the account had disappeared along with my $200 in store credit. They said sorry and that was that out $200. Attempted to find the receipt from months prior and couldn’t.

Due to some poor luck with a RC car purchased around Christmas, Ive been in 3 times now. Two bad chargers and a small motor problem that was met with awesome service. I was helped by a total of 4 people during my 3 visits and they all did an incredible job. I look forward to my future purchases with them.

I have quite a few hobbies and Ive bought a lot of supplies from this store, especially supplies for model kits. I think I preferred the feel of the old store for some reason, but this one on Thomasville has been good, too. All employees have been very polite to me, and dont usually pester. Im not sure if all of them are extremely knowledgeable on what they sell, but I think its silly to expect employees to be experts on their products. A few employees in particular have really been great and fun to talk to--and I usually avoid talking to employees in any store! Brad had been especially helpful when I was choosing an airbrush, and with general model kit talk. Its been a while since Ive shopped here, I really feel an urge to go back now! Thanks for being cool, Hobbytown!

I bought two trucks as Christmas gifts, only to have issues with them within a matter of weeks. They do not help you in any way with the warranty, you are on your own. Very unhelpful. Doesnt seem like good business to sell such expensive items and be so unhelpful.

Had a defective product. Staff was quick to replace the product and resolve the issue. Very impressed with the service.

They seem to carry a lot for model building. If youre looking for yarn, beads & needlecraft, turn around & head out. They are pricey on what they do carry. A few kids crafts items

Great hobby store that covers a wide variety of guy hobbies.

Im glad that we didnt make the hour and a half trip to Tallahassee just for this place. As many have stated before the employees dont exactly make you feel welcome. One of the guys was driving a rc car around the store and kept nearly hauling ass straight at and nearly missing my 2y/o. If youre going here for the plastic model selection dont waste your time, the only thing worse than the selection are the prices on the kits.However, if youre in need of model paints they do have a large selection from several manufacturers to choose from and the Tamiya acrylics are reasonably priced.

Ive always gotten excellent service everytime I have stopped at the store.

First time in store, bought something I thought I needed, but realized I didn’t. Went back to return the item the same day, with my receipt, and was told I could only get store credit. I’m not a hobbyist so store credit does me nothing. That’s a ridiculous policy. There are so many other stores where I can choose to spend my money, hobbytownusa will never again be one of them.

I wish its was a zero star option. This place is a joke. Bought a pair a batteries, and open them in the store hooked it to my car one didnt work, and they would not refund my money back, after the guy hooked them up himself. Done!!!

Terrible. Most of the staff just want to be there to play with toys, the rest dont want to be there.Ordered a part from a company they keep in stock and was told it would be here on a certain date. Its now 3 weeks later and i get nothing but its not in.Why isnt it in?Why would you tell me a date when its not gonna be in?The staff is very smug about brands they do not carry in stock.Save yourself time and headache and order off Amazon.

I purchased a quadcopter here and it broke the same day. Apparently there are no warranties or guarantees when it comes to their products. They told me they would have to order a part, so I paid for a part to fix my brand new quadcopter. As of the writing of this review, I have waited a month and a half for my order. I keep being told we havent received it yet with a myriad of excuses. I asked if they could get it from another supplier, and was flatly told no. I asked about a refund and was told I could only receive store credit; no refunds no matter how long it takes. Customer service is hit or miss, but to parrot another review the older gentleman there is unbelievably condescending. The younger employees are generally helpful though, but not enough to make up for the terrible lack of concern for customer satisfaction from the business as a whole. They are smiles until they get your money, then you are treated as an annoyance.I strongly recommend you dont shop here. Either order online or go to Hobby Monstro-City near Tom Brown Park.

My husband had trouble binding his helicopter to his dmx7 so he brought them in and was worried because there were no men at work. Little did he know Ivey was a rc expert. She had his helicopter bound in no time. He was very shocked and pleased. I was just pleased. Way to go Ivey.

Some of the reviews absolutely do NOT reflect the store at all. Note, I am reviewing this from the RC hobby standpoint.Their proces are extremely fair. Yes, if you want to go to ebay you can get ANYTHING cheaper, but the in store prices are comparable to online.The employees I have dealt with have all been knowledgeable and helpful. Also, at least for Traxxas products, I have yet to go into the store and my needed part wasnt on the shelf.I highly recommend Hobbytown Usa for any RC needs!

Hobby Town USA is a favorite store of my Son and I to go.

No star option was not available - purchased a toy motorcycle for my grandson and it fell apart while taking it out of the package. I returned to the store within 30 minutes to exchange it and was told that since it had been opened it could not be exchanged. I guess you are supposed to shake the mess out of items before you buy it to make sure it stays together. Stay away from this store unless you just like throwing your money away.
