Me and my husband has 7 kids between us. We were undecided about trying to a get a trailer or a house. So at first we went to look at trailers and seen a modest 4 bedroom for about $87,000. We filled out an application and got approved for $107,000. The land we saw was about $19,000. We have over $15,000 saved in our personal and business accounts so we could have paid cash for any differences.Scott called us about an appointment. He acted as if he forgot why we were there and told us to go look at trailers. I thought it was strange especially because of our approval amount. We came back to the office and we explained which trailer we wanted. He literally took five minutes and said that we didnt have enough to cover the costs and stated that the total amount would end up being almost $140,000. Like how? Then he stated that his adjuster would be there Monday and would increase the price of the trailer. We were there on a Saturday. He also insulted us by saying that we could go look at a 3 bedroom single wide. I feel like like the appointment was a waste of time and if we didnt qualify he should have looked at our paperwork before we got there and said that over the phone. It was very unprofessional. Oh, he also advised that we call the loan company (that he suggested and only Clayton Homes use) and ask how they could increase our approval amount. i can not make this up.

Carrie Ann is the best! She has helped me through this long journey guiding me everyway and answering all my annoying questions. Would definitely recommend her and Clayton Homes to everyone I know.

Be careful when you gives these people your $1000 deposit. Apparently they can spend money out of it when ever they want and when u ask for your deposit back after trying and failing to find a place after 6 months of looking they tell you they spent $425 without your permission. Just got $575 out of 1000 back and am extremely upset. First time in my life Ive been conned out of that much money. Ill be calling a lawyer tomorrowCarrie Ann had the nerve to say that they would knock the $425 off when I came back. Larrie, the gentleman escorting us through the process of purchasing a Mobile Home, is very informative and helpful in every area weve gone through. He really worked at getting our numbers right, for the trailer we want. And going about getting land for it as well. This will be the house I live in for the rest of my life, so we want it just right. We feel Larrie sees and understands that. Youll really enjoy working with him if you get the chance. Funny thing, my Nephew is buying the same home as myself and my wife, after seeing it.

If you plan on actually getting a new home find another mobile home company to use. I have been since December trying to get in a home with these people and its been one thing after another. Not to mention my sales person will cuss you over the phone and be the rudest person ever. I also gave a $1500 check that I only authorized to be used for an appraisal and now my salesperson tells me all these things that they spent it on and they would get me a refund check if there was anything left. How do they just spend money on stuff that you did not authorize.To add on to this posting if you do call the customer service number provided below they will just defend the company and even hang up on you. Not professional there either. There Clayton advocates dont even waste your time calling. If I could give this company and their advocates a zero I would!!!

If I could go to a zero i would. Nathen Barns has been the worst. We started with this process in December. We knew the place we wanted and he said he would make it work. Told us about how much it would be and told us when we do the loan process that they include land clearing septic and all the extra in. Well he lied. Came back to us saying it was going to be $50,00 more than it was originally. So we had to go with another home. As if it isnt bad enough for first time home buyers to have to settle with a home they dont want but will work for the family size. Then it was something else that was putting us over the loan limit. Got that fixed. Now we are told we have to change something again because the land clearing is going to put us $6,000 over the limit. Well we thought it was already put in the loan. He is trying to squeeze every penny possible out of us. It has been lie after lie come out of his mouth. So now after messing up pur credit from pulling it multiple times we are about to lose it all and not be able to purchase our home. We just want our home for our family. With the original plan he had told us. Im am sick of the lies and changes. Like i said before it is bad enough we have to settle and not get our forever home we wanted.

100% feel like weve been looked over and pushed to the side, in order for them to accommodate their other customers. We have been trying to purchase a home and close on everything since August 2018. There were various delays that had nothing to do with us. It took us a month to find land, but outside of that, every thing else feels like they just wasted our time.It took 2 months to get the survey and appraisal done. It seems like every time we submit paperwork, we were told it was sent to the lender, but it never was. I have proof of this, and I actually called several times to verify whether or not the lender had received the required paperwork. This caused weeks of delays. Then there were several things we were never notified of.They never told us that they were behind, due to the hurricane. They never told us that the house we wanted off the lot, was being shown to other famiies after we agreed to purchase it. We didnt make our closing date and now the land owner wants to know when well be closing. We dont even know now, because we were just notified that they are behind due to the hurricane and that they sold the house we had agreed to purchase back in September 2018. So with a 6-8 week delay, plus now having to wait to have a house built.....we have no idea if well ever have a house.We are so disappointed and upset, because we wanted this to be a fairly easy and quick process. We were hoping to finally have a home for our young kids and now we dont know if that will happen at all or anytime soon. There has been so much miscommunication and we dont know how, when weve stayed in constant communication with both the home center and lender to get this process moving. Weve been living with family for over 4 months now, with a majority of our belongings sitting in storage. And now they tell us it will probably be another 2-3 months.I can honestly say I wont and wouldnt recommend them to anyone, because I cannot guarantee they wouldnt have the same experience as we have and I wouldnt wish this experience on anyone.

Okay, I was pretty upset about a specific problem when I put my initial review in, but Scharlett at Clayton took care of it and I have to say Im a much happier camper now. So, probably time for a review of the good things.Carrie Ann was great. I really like her. She always called me back. She always worked to get things the way I wanted or needed them. Shes friendly and took it to heart when I said if I could just walk up and stick the key in the door one day that it would be fabulous. Ive had a lot on my plate and buying land/house and staying with friends while I did so definitely increased my frustration level. 10 points to Carrie Ann for taking care of the land, house, etc. Mostly, all I had to do was sign papers and show up with checks and thats really the way I wanted it. I dont know if she knows how much I appreciate that given that Ive been so stressed out about real life on top of the purchase, but I do.We were delayed a bit by Hurricane Michael, but that wasnt on them at all. In fact, they moved ahead pretty well to get it all done and get us in there. Theyve been responsive, the guy showed up and put the skirting on (thankfully because fire alarms dont like humidity in the house) sooner than I actually expected.I have to give Tim a shout out too. I appreciate him scheduling to come out and take care of the few little problems we had in a timely manner. Nothing big. Just normal stuff that happens when you get a new place like a door latch that doesnt sit right and a fan that probably got a wire shook loose in transit. In fact, hes at my house today while Im at work taking care of those.Overall, I love my new place and think my family will be happy and secure there for years to come. Everything looked great when I got in there, even though I rushed them because I was running out of time on my living arrangements.

My salesman was Scott! Let me tell you a little about my experience.....I called Clayton Homes in Tallahassee and spoke with Mr. Scott whom gave me very thorough and detailed information. I was extremely pleased with his customer service skills. He was very upfront and honest with me about all of my questions related to my worries about my credit score, buying a home process, and finding something suitable for my family. I had decided to meet with him the next day.Unfortunately, certain circumstances prevented me from visiting Clayton Homes until a month later.I called Mr. Scott and asked him if it was still okay to meet with him. I met him the same day around 4:00 in the afternoon, I believe. He was available immediately as soon as my Fiance and I arrived.He quickly showed us a home that he knew would suit our needs and wants. We view the home, 20 minutes later we were sitting in the office filling an application to our desired loan company.Again, Mr. Scott was very thorough and the office manager (I cant remember her name) was very kind and generous. She made sure we were very comfortable during the process. Mind you, I had my two children with me, both under the age of 4. They didnt make a big deal out of it at all. They even spoke to my four year old and offered her cookies and a juice.Here I am about two months later.....I still havent bought a home due to wanting to wait until the perfect time (this November). Timing is everything. My application was not sent to the company because of a little computer glitch in which I truly believe was a sign from God that I needed to wait just a little longer.Anyway, reviews are about the company and not whether or not I bought a home. I will say this, their customer service was beautifully organized and the salesman and other staff were very knowledgeable.I plan to visit Clayton Homes again come November in order to purchase a home.God Bless

My experience with Clayton Homes was wonderful. Mr. Jim was helpful from start to finish I have and will continue telling everyone to buy the new home from Clayton Homes. My dreams have come true with the help of they entire team at Clayton Homes of Tallahassee.

If you need a home and want a quick way to get moved in, then Clayton is the way to go. Needed to get my elderly (98 & 84 years old), handicapped parents moved into a space that would accommodate them and me. Jim and Sharlet at Clayton Homes helped guide me through the whole process, from designing to styling our modular home top to bottom. It was such a positive and rewarding experience. Anytime I had a question or needed their assistance, they were there. Ready to help. Once my home arrived Tim and his crew came and put it all together, painting walls, putting up trim and molding, installing countertops....etc. you name it. They did it. We will forever be grateful to CLAYTON Homes and their fantastic crew.

Representatives there are sooo rude. Customer service skills are lacking. I went in 3 times and the whole experience was awkward and just not very professional at all. If you ask questions the staff seemed to get annoyed.

Ive never written a bad review in my life, but I dont want anyone else to go through what I did. I was told by Carrie Ann that a contract I put in on a piece of land was signed by the owner selling the land. After I got to Claytons yesterday I was told by her coworkers that the contract was never signed and that someone gave him a cash offer. This saleswoman knew I needed to be in a home quickly, as Im expecting a child. I lost the land I thought was mine due to her negligence and lies. She never once emailed me, called me, or texted. The only time I got information was when I came in the office. Even though I asked several different times for her to send me information. She was caught off guard when I came in yesterday and asked for a copy of the signed contract. Her manager got involved so she lied again and told her she tried to call me and left me a message the day before. That was also a lie.

Very poor customer service. Jim Jones lied to us about everything. He only is worried about how much money he will make off a house, he is not worried about getting you a house at all. He is a cheap skate.

First I called to inquire about some information and never received a call back. After that I decided to go to the business and the salesman I spoke with was so rude and unfriendly. From their ad on their website anyone can clearly see that they service certain types of people. I would advise NOT to go there.
