Great customer service, friendly staff, and vibrant location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in the Hyde Park area. I tried the Buddy Brew Screw, which sounded fun, but I didnt entirely get the appeal. I think the process is supposed to be like how people who dont like tequila shots take them with lime and salt, but in this case, salt and grapefruit juice to tone down the bitterness. However, I like espresso, so it didnt really do anything for me. I do like their coffee though and would certainly return when visiting Hyde Park.

This was my first Buddy Brew experience. I think it’s local to Tampa and the surrounding areas. This location is in a very nice area with many shops. The parking is not great, but there are garages nearby.The inside of the shop is fairly small and it was packed with people sitting around on laptops, so we couldn’t even sit down anywhere. We took the coffee and enjoyed it while walking around. The coffee quality seemed to be high, and the baristas really know their stuff here. The latte I got came out quickly and it was delicious. I’d like to come back in the future to try their other drinks.

Good service and nice atmosphere, but the espresso was not drinkable due to the high acidity. For $3 per espresso shot, I expected a smoother tasting coffee.

Everything is perfect. Only Wifi needs to be improved. It has a lot of interruption.

New to town and am so happy I found Buddy Brew! All the locations are great. Jericho and Liz at the Hyde Park location are awesome, always so welcoming and kind! My favorite place to get a coffee and sit down and get some work done on the computer. Cannot recommend enough!

Fantastic little coffeehouse that features great service, strong brews, and a few patisserie items to choose from including gluten-free, dairy-free options. They may not realize their WiFi name and password is mildy suggestive however LOL ; )

Perfect cup to enhance an evening of eating and shopping in Hyde Park Village. I love the fact that their air conditioning works so well! When you open the dark wood tall old fashioned doors the fantastic aroma of fresh coffee draws you in. This location is nice because its between the restaurants on Snow Avenue and is very appealing with high ceilings, old fashioned tile floors and granite countertops with nice little bistro tables. The large coffee bar is very inviting. They also serve wine, beer, pastries and sandwiches. With indoor and outdoor and multiple seating options, this Buddy Brew is a local favorite.

Good pour over and dirty chai. Amazing atmosphere. Love seeing all the 4-legged patrons come in.

Simple syrup was offered instead of sugar but it didnt really make the coffee sweet. Actually seemed like non was put into my black coffee.

If you like craft coffee, you need to go here. They have a great selection of origins from all over the globe and across the roast spectrum as well. I had an iced pourover which was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. Very cool interior as well. The prices are a tad higher than your typical coffee shop, but if you appreciate fine coffee, it is absolutely worth it!

The matcha here is actually horrible. Not only does it taste like straight milk, but drinking it includes the experience and sifting through massive chunks of bitter matcha that wasn’t blended correctly. The one star is only deserved because the cashier was pleasant. If you come here, do not order this.

I like this spot, their hot coffee is good, they have an interest in latte art, the location is spot on and the service is good. No complaints on this.Their iced coffee was good as well but their hot coffee to me was better. I recommend their blended drink of their hot coffee. The only thing about the iced coffee is that its so hot in the summer, the ice can melt faster than you can drink it. Have the iced coffee in the spring or the fall but not in the dead heat summer.It is an easy going spot, parking is free in the area and the coffee shop is dog friendly. I see some of the cutest dogs in this place while working, makes me want to get one myself.They have have a good selection of dishes if you get hungry. Definitely a place to stop by.

Great locally owned coffee shop with great food and other drink options as well. Usually crowded, but line never takes too long. Love ordering in advance for carry out during these times. Staff is always very friendly and happy to help answer any questions. Quick service as well. Highly recommend for a drink or snack while in Hyde Park!

I was visiting Tampa and stopped here before our road trip north. I grabbed two coffees and on a whim, saw the holiday blend whole bean bags they were selling.I bought two bags and the barista kindly offered to grind them for me. This was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had!! It was SO delicious. I can’t wait for next year to come down and get more. Highly recommend their delicious brews. You’re doing something right! Too right!

Not a bad place to have nice coffee and catch up wi some work. Ample space for notebook computers or tablets and plenty of power points available. The coffee was good, though I went there twice and while once had a really nice latte art, the other time was average. Still a nice spot to check out in Hyde Park, Tampa!

I have loved Buddy Brew since its tiny, single side location on Kennedy (2013ish). The owners are amazing people as well. Our kids used to be in the same class at Mitchell Elementary! Anyway, their passion for coffee and each other is inspiring! Oh ya, their coffee and food is AMAZING!!!

If you want to pay a lot for small bad coffee go to buddy brew. Worst coffee waste of money

I love there coffee, I buy it offline. This was honestly a smack in the face, my hot latte was cold. Not sure if it was an accident or not, but very displeasing experience. Would not return, will stick to making my coffee at home.

Its pricey but so pretty inside. Great place to fuel up after shopping in the area or to read a book or work on business or school. Baristas were also very sweet.

Much of this review is copy and paste from my review of the Kennedy Blvd location of Buddy Brew, but its the same thing: Amazing staff, wonderful coffee, and the atmosphere is indescribable. You feel like you know someone in there even if youre there for the first time.

Buddy brews atomosphere, baristas, service and location are all top notch. It’s a perfect location for conversation or reading a paper. There’s ample seating inside and out. And they serve delicious food! I make a visit to this specific buddy brew every time I visit Tampa.

Staff were rude and for the price they charge it’s not worth it.

This was our first time here and had to swing in after leaving Bartaco. You can definitely smell the coffee walking past the front door. They have some very unique selections of food and coffee both. Everything we had to eat and drink was fantastic and if it wasnt for being just a little pricey definitely would have given it 5 stars. Will definitely stop back by here when I come back to the area and if you like coffee I would suggest giving Buddy Brew a try.

Good coffee… an alternative to Starbucks.

So great! The only reason for 4/5 is because its a little pricy, and not conveniently accessible, but hey- its Hyde Park. Much better than Starbucks or DD, and its local. They are pet friendly, but its not unclean at all. Ill definitely go when Im in the area- not crazy about parking in a parking garage to grab a cup of coffee though.

The cold brew coffee is not my style. It is bitter and sour for me.

An ok place to spend some time. Only decaff option was americano which was well presented and tasted just ok. My yogurt parfait was fresh and good.

I finally made it to this gem. The little coffee shop is well designed and offers a nice rustic, but contemporary feel. I had the Cold Brew Float (against my better judgement, watching the calories) but it was amazing. The cup comes with some delicious ice cream, filled with a strong cold brew coffee. Its probably the best cold brew I have ever had, and add the float part and you have liquid cold. A must try when in Hyde Park!

Have always loved Buddys but now that I have more time (COVID / Work @ home) I actually can review my favorite places. Great craft coffee place thats not like the big box chains. Oh, and in this time of the new normal... they deliver! Love this place. Thanks to the great staff for making Buddy Brew so awesome!

This is the place to be on a Saturday morning. Lots of friendly coffee people, very pet friendly (like all of Hyde park village), and they make an amazing dirty Chai. Love it!

I love this place. Its my go-to for coffee and quick bites. Also such a great atmosphere! Good people, good product, and surprisingly low prices. Makes for a perfect start to a Sunday morning followed by a scenic walk in Hyde Park after. Very dog friendly!

Solid coffee shop. Coffee is my thing when I travel for work and I always seek out quality local coffee shops. Buddy Brew in Hyde Park stands among the best.The atmosphere was very good with a variety of seating options both at tables and bar counters, and of course very good shaded patio seating! The music was conducive to either conversation or work and I spent a pleasant hour here with my laptop out catching up before a construction meeting.I ordered a breakfast sandwich, orange juice, and pour-over. The sandwich was very good. The orange juice was actually a high point of my visit. The OJ was described as local or fresh, I recall, and it was seriously good! The OJ tasted very unique and fresh, and was quite a treat for a Midwesterner half a country away from citrus growing regions. The pour over was very good as well, and I enjoyed the coffee being served in a Kalita carafe to refill the a porcelain cup and saucer.Overall I had a very good experience at Buddy Brew Hyde Park. As they seem to be a local chain, I will certainly visit again any time I am in the area.

Very poor customer service, almost like they do not want you there. I got this vibe during several visits, after thinking initially it was a bad employee. Bad culture. Not customer first.

Great service, coffee, and ambiance! The employees are very knowledgeable about coffee. They even make hot beverages the right way: still cool enough to drink immediately. I especially like the cold brew with milk (and just because it’s brewed cold doesn’t mean you have to drink it cold - bring home a growler and have yourself a week’s worth of super fast, gourmet, low acid coffee for work mornings). Tasty breakfasts which are made at their main cafe a mile north (still delicious warmed-up). The only thing I wish they had is beans from Kenya and surrounding countries. Maybe in the future.

Pretty and pricey. $6+ for a small caramel latte with oat milk. Friendly staff though and I could see myself hanging out there to chat with friends. Latte was yummy and the espresso flavor not too strong (which I like). A fun treat when on vacation

I am a photographer and needed to switch up my office while I edited some photos. Ive been to Buddy Brews other location and I love the environment in Hyde Park so I thoughts Id give this place a visit. It was wonderful. Staff was so nice and helpful. I got a lot of work done but my only gripe is its a little small. I got lucky and found a spot but as I sat there the place filled up quickly. I will be back!

I’ve been to Buddy Brew quite a bit but I was disappointed yesterday with the staff. I asked if their spiced pumpkin contained a common ingredient, dairy, and they had no clue if it did or not, which seemed like something they should be educated on. We then asked about the flavors of their vegan donut and he told us, “um I think that’s a blueberry lemon and apple pie” so we bought three, two “blueberry lemon” and one apple pie. the “blueberry lemon” was actually cookie monster, because we’ve had it before from elsewhere and then he proceeded to bring out more donuts of other flavors, when we didn’t want “blueberry lemon” in the first place. such a nice place and the coffee is my favorite, just not the best experience yesterday.

The coffee is good, there is no doubt about that. If you are looking for a place to study, this could be a good place if it isnt too full. Didnt try their pastries, so cant speak on that, just had a latte but it was good. Would recommend to give it a visit, the espresso is quite nice.

I love that they added more food items. Eggs and toast is a simple favorite. Of course the coffee is fabulous as always.

An absolutely lovely spot to stop and grab a coffee with a friend while exploring Hyde Park! If youre a student and lucky to find a seat (when its busy, its BUSY), its got the perfect ambiance to sit and work for a while.Oh, and their staff is very friendly! I usually just order a regular filter coffee, black, without all the bells and whistles. They have a large range of coffee options that was a bit overwhelming, but everyone was very nice and walked me through the options and gave me recommendations too.

Coffee was excellent. It’s probably the best coffee I’ve ever had. Great seating area inside and out. I will be back for sure

I stopped in for a free drink during a promotion via Lincoln in October. I tried the green smoothie and it was great. If I lived in Tampa I would definitely visit this place regularly. Very chill atmosphere. Friendly service as well.

Very upscale. The decor is amazing with a really impressive prep area and fancy equipment. The yogurt parfait was delicious due to the type of yogurt they used. I could not tell if the yogurt was homemade, but I have never had such creamy yogurt. I also got fresh orange juice, but for the small quantity, the price is not worth it.Side note: Judging from the name the shop come across as dog friendly, but there is a sign inside that says dogs are only allowed in their outside seating area. With that said, there were a couple of customers who brought their dogs in

Great staff. Great coffee. Perfect after a morning jog by the bay. They keep a few watering bowls outside for dogs.

My current favorite coffee shop in Tampa. Located in one of my favorite parts of town, in walking distance of MANY other restaurants and shops, and just a couple of blocks from the historic/scenic/cultural Bayshore Blvd, this shop itself has a great atmosphere and a decent amount of seating both inside and outside. Their espresso drinks are great, but if youre interested in trying a drink that isnt coffee, try their matcha lemonade. That and Starbucks matcha tea latte are collectively what got me hooked on matcha.

So i decided to make the switch from Starbucks to Buddy Brew because i love how the coffee does not taste burned (i made the switch about a month ago). I walked into Buddy Brew in Hyde Park this morning wanting to try an iced caramel late. Normally when i got one at Starbucks, i would ask for a little caramel drizzled on top. I asked for some caramel drizzled on top from the woman making my late (she must have been having a bad day because she was very cold from the moment that i walked in) I try the late that she made after she put an alarming amount of caramel in it and its WAY too sweet. I apologize and say Im so sorry, this is too sweet for me She laughed in my face very meanly. I apologized again and reminded her that i only asked for a small drizzle on top. She goes on arguing with me about how the drink is made. If a drink is made badly at Starbucks, they graciously take it back and re-make it to the way that you want with a pleasant smile, not a sarcastic smile and jerky angry movements.I think i might go back to Starbucks and learn to love the taste of burn just because of her terrible attitude. I walked out of there embarrassed, not only for me but for her as well.Thank you,Miranda
