This was a cute little ice cream shop/area secluded from the main walk way of Amature Works. The ice cream was delicious and reasonably priced. My waffle cone was fresh, although the piece of waffle cone placed inside was a bit stale. I like the topping choices which were only $0.50 extra per topping. The syringe was a cute addition that allowed you to squeeze however much caramel you wanted. I definitely recommend this spot over the other shop that offers ice cream; a difference of about $10 per scoop.
Inside Armature Works this shop had a long line, so we decided to try it based on that alone. If theres a long line than it must be good, right? The the smells were amazing, but unfortunately the ice cream fell flat. The Tiramisu Ice cream was ok. The strawberry shortcake honestly not good at all. The spoons are so cheap, everytime we went in to grab a bite, the spoons bent and the ice cream would fling off of the spoon.
Ang was a blast!! I came in tonight & she was short staffed & blew threw the line of customers. She had a smile on her face (based on her eyes because mask was up!). She kept her cool, delivered EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE and made sure every customer was taken care! If I know one thing, its that this girl needs a RAISE! GREAT JOB ANG!!!
Great ice cream and even better customer service! Will definitely be coming back. I like that the workers had pins on their hats that said their pronouns. Felt very inclusive and accepting!
The ice cream here is super creamy and tastes delicious. It is definitely an ice cream shop that I would gladly return to.
My wife and I only eat one ice cream sandwich a year and we went to Astro this time. We got the cookie version and it was amazing. They have a Cuban bread version too. We were going to buy two but once we saw how big the cookies were, we opted to split it instead. The employee even offered to cut it in half for us. They have fun flavors too!
Honestly just so so ice cream. And pricey. But nice to have this option in Armature.
Was on a bike ride with my son, and decided to stop for some ice cream. Waited 30+ minutes for this place to open, only to be disappointed! I was the first person here, and the lady working kept checking her phone to make sure it was 11:00AM on the button before moving the black rope to allow me to step inside. I was there literally 30 seconds before she sent me away to Bake nBabes for a milkshake! I did leave and came back because I didnt feel like spending $12 on a milkshake. I ordered 1 scoop of ice cream for my son and asked if she could split the flavors; as my son really wanted vanilla and chocolate. She said no I cant do that. Youll have to buy the 2 scoops. I told her my son cant eat that much and asked if she could do two smaller scoops of the flavors. She just said no I cant. I turned around and left. Poor customer service. Poor attitude. Will not come back.
This place is ridiculous, when we went they didn’t have the most simple ice cream flavors, vanilla and chocolate. Im not sure who the lady was working there but she had a nasty attitude and didn’t blend the root beer float, she gave us vanilla ice cream and a bottle of root beer. I’m not sure if she’s the owner but she made it seem like that when she said “I don’t do samples” I could be wrong if she doesn’t own it. I don’t recommend it, very lazy, that’s what they get for hiring kids.
This is a little cute ice cream place inside of Armature Works. You could pass it if you didnt look hard enough for it. Its right across from the Cuban restaurant. Its a very small shop but you are welcomed by the friendly staff that asks if you would like to try samples to which we did. They had a limited variety of ice cream but definitely the basics that will satisfy your cravings. I got the chocolate cake ice cream which tasted like regular chocolate and the strawberry short cake that tasted like strawberry. Nonetheless, they were good but for one waffle cone and one cup, it was $11 and that just seemed a little bit too much for a one scoop in a cone. As expected, the restaurants in AW are highly priced and it has your appetizers, entrees and dessert in one place but be expected to spend at the very least $10 and thats really expected anywhere too but its definitely a neat little spot and cool that they even have ice cream here so Ill definitely be getting some ice cream when Im back in the area for lunch.
This was so much fun!! We stopped by on Cinco De Mayo for ice cream tacos. The decor is very 60sesque. The ice cream is fresh cream mixed with your flavor of choice and then mixed with liquid nitrogen. The menu is divided into 3 sections, you can mix as match as your mind feels. Cant decide, they have a few suggestions for you. If you are vegan, they have ice cream for you!!I picked chocolate and strawberries. I made the mistake of not specifying fresh strawberries so I ended up with chocolate and strawberry ice cream instead of chocolate ice cream with strawberries. The ice cream is so good. Its reach and creamy. The waffle taco shell was light and crunchy and sweet. I cant wait to go back!!
We were very excited to try this ice cream after watching others eat it all around us but were very disappointed. I actually threw away half my ice cream. Quality of ice cream was average/below average and the flavors didn’t quite work.
Underwhelming. This was our second time giving Astro a go and both times they were a flop. Small, very melted servings - and we weren’t even there on hot days. We had soup by the time we found seating. Flavors are good, especially the strawberry shortcake, which is why they’re getting 2 stars. If you’re looking for an alternative, Bake’n Babes does not disappoint and is way more bang for you buck. We won’t be returning.
Stopped here after eating a quick bite at Armature Works. Honestly, I wasnt impressed. Ive had much better ice cream at Cold Stone or Brusters. The flavor combinations are interesting but even my kids werent fans. They had the strawberry shortcake which even though had chunks of shortcake and strawberry, the flavor was just lacking. I had the vanilla and added oreo crumbles. It wasnt bad, but I prefer a creamier texture and flavor to my ice cream. This was more icy and bland. Prices were high too so kind of regretting the almost $30 bucks I paid for a few scoops of mediocre ice cream.
I love ice cream. It is one of the things in life that I could probably say that I exercise and diet to eat. I was super excited when I was taken to this ice cream place on a cold rainy day.I was so excited to see liquid nitrogen ice cream on the menu and in the reivews and I was so excited to see it in action. Little did I know that not all ice creams get frozen on the spot in the liquid nitrogen - most of them are already frozen and just scooped from a cooler in the back.So all ice creams come with a topping, and you can choose from a cup (no extra charge), or some type of cone (extra charge). The small size is actually HUGE, it comes with 2+ scoops, and the scoops are generous.I ordered the strawberry ice cream with kit kats on top, and my friend ordered the cookies and cream with sprinkles. For two small ice creams + cones, the total was like $12.00 which is a bit much for two ice creams. None the less, it was good ice cream, but neither of us finished because it was just so much.Would come again, but maybe split my ice cream with someone else :)
Ice cream was ok. The lady who helped us was ridiculous. She forgot to give us spoons and we asked her and she made a big thing about that. She walked away making a scene, an attitude. It’s like she didn’t care for us.It was horrible. Never going back.
We visited on a Saturday night. The ice cream was delicious, however, the price was very expensive for a scoop of ice cream compared to similar establishments. The staff seemed rushed, I wish they let us look at all the flavors for a minute or two without staring at us asking if we’re ready to order. Overall decent experience, unlikely I’ll be back though.
Awesome ice cream.... Great taste 🤤🤤🤤
They have fun flavors of ice cream and a few different options to serve them with ..brownie, chocolate chip cookie, apple pie crisp and waffle cones. Overall its a great concept. Prices are fair and selection is pretty good. The lower score comes from the customer service, neither people working were friendly, the server seemed bothered to help anyone,, the cashier was preoccupied carrying on a conversation with someone working across from them and didnt want to stop to ring us up. We were served extremely melted ice cream and when we asked to change it for something that wasnt milk shake consistency the server looked at us like we were crazy for having an issue with melted ice cream. There was also a man that walked up whole we were telling them that when him and his wife were there the day before they charged him 4x for his order and again no apology, they just looked at him like they had no idea of what to do and eventually said they had to call someone to help him.
Didnt have many flavors to offer. Said they were out.
Good ice cream with nice flavors. We got vanilla vanilla, maple brown sugar, and guava cream cheese. The guava was by far superior. I recommend they experiment with other flavors because they were rather basic.
That was some good ice cream with unique flavors.
Incredibly friendly staff.
I had a Strawberry Shortcake ice cream and my husband had the Cuban Ice Cream Sandwich with their Creme Brule Cafe Con Leche ice cream. Both were so good, and the lady that took care of our order was so nice and awesome. Definitely coming back next time we are in town.
Very delicious & reasonable priced for the fresh ingredients! Staff was friendly & offered me samples as I wasn’t sure what I wanted. She went above and beyond as I told her I didn’t like chunks in my ice cream she scooped around the cookie dough in the peanut butter ice cream which tasted amazing! Would definitely go back
Vanilla shortbread cookie tastes like breyers ice cream. My husband got the chocolate, but it’s nothing to go back for and very overpriced.
Def some of the best homemade ice cream that Tampa has to offer, with a lot of truly unique flavors its guaranteed to satisfy that sweet tooth of yours in more ways than you can fathom!!
Cant wait to visit again. So many flavours to choose from and the taste is absolutely delicious, so good I had to go back again. Best ice cream in town, great service.
I came on 6/18/2020 at 8:35 p.m. and I had a bad impression of the ice cream shop due to bad customer service from one of the girls that work in this place. It was our first time to buy them ice cream, and the the girl that assist us didn’t have no kind of patience. She wanted us to pick and go quick, she wasn’t too nice, she made us feel like we were not welcome.
Amazing ice creamery. Its crowded and I had to wait in the queue for good 20 mins. Service was good, seating is available, each order come in a huge plate- good for 2 people! They are open until late at night.
Neutral review. I walked up the counter, looked through the menu and the ice cream case. None of the employees addressed me or stopped their own conversation. Unfortunately they do not have any vegan ice cream (they have 1 sorbet flavor which is the dessert equivalent to salad) so I was unable to try any of their products. Lots of room for improvement here.
I ordered a large ice cream & picked two flavors ( vanilla bean & Dutch chocolate). My order is enough to share with 3 people. It tastes very yummy & not too sweet as I thought. Love it ❤️
The Guava ice cream was the bomb
I went to the ice cream parlor yesterday with my husband and had horrible service. I will not be back. Management needs to ensure consistency in customer service.
To begin, the prices are astronomical for some basic flavored ice cream. I was unclear that one of the sides was only flavors of ice cream as opposed to certain speciality of ice cream (i.e. strawberry short cake). The employee proceeded to get slick mouthed when explaining and made a disgusted face in response. Unprofessional for some basic expensive ice cream.
Rude people. They need to train their employees on customer service.
Armature works is a great establishment but I would not be returning to this ice cream shop. Asian girl at the counter serving ice cream was super rude. She must be upset that her W2s got lost in the mail. Ive encountered better customer service at the DMV which is sad being that its a government establishment. This girl needs 1 on 1 coaching on customer service. One thing I do not tolerate is rude customer service.
2 sundaes came to $19; the ice cream has actual ice in it. It’s not a creamy ice cream. The brownie was 10 seconds from being stale. It was crumby and microwaved. I think this place is a lot of hype. The waffle triangle they stick in almost every sundae were also on the verge of being stale. Honestly it was a waste of money! Basking Robins is better than this place
LIQUID NITROGEN ICE CREAM!They are located within Armature Works! They have so many toppings and are pretty quick about making your order! The pricing of this location is fairly moderate, expect to spend 6$-12$ per ice cream order if you like toppings or ice served on different things!
Regular from the tub ice cream, quite expensive and they dont tell you the price until you pay. The menu (which is a board above the cashier) is misleading, which shows $1-$2 add-on items and regular: 1 scoop, or a large portion: 1.5 scoops. They fail to mention the actual price of the ice cream, which for regular was over $5. The ice cream itself was unremarkable and flavors available were pretty generic. In summary its overpriced, has a shady menu, and skipable.
The first time I came here I got the nitrogen ice cream, which is all that they served. Sure it took some time to get the ice cream, but totally worth the wait.I went yesterday and I got a different ice cream and it was just SOFT SERVE. I think it is ridiculous that they started the business and getting their hype up about nitrogen ice cream, and then CHANGE it to just working cow soft serve, which I could just go to ballast point and eat some for way cheaper.I feel like they started the game strong, just to get customers and now they only have a total of 5 different hitrogen ice cream options. Very disappointing.
Nice bespoke ice cream. Not cheap, but good
Nice environment! Mall management is rude! Also new delivery policies for the mall are retarded which almost caused me injury when I fell in the loading dock.......happens again and Ill sue. Astro is excellent, but the mall itself is horrible!
The customer service was poor. My Girlfriend has a severe nut allergy and they failed to mention that the brownie had nuts. When I brought it up to them the young lady mocked me and proceeded to warn me that the brownie had nuts after We had paid and eaten the majority. They don’t have a number to call a manger to fix their lack of information so be aware.
The food is great and customer service is also
Amazing delicious ice cream. The kids love the shop and location to having the choice to eat ice cream inside or outside by the water that ice cream options where creative especially the ones made with the liquid nitrogen but all of it was oh so delicious
Tastes overly artificial and icy. Would not recommend. I had the Dutch chocolate and its was uber sweet. Ordering is a pain, its like cold stone you choose your toppings to go inside.
Loved the caramel ice cream on top of th÷ir fresh hot apple pie
Good time. I had the birthday cake with rainbow sprinkles and chocolate sauce. Yep!
I wanted pistachio icecream in a cone but they insisted that that couldn’t be done. So instead, I had to get pistachio with all of the following toppings- vanilla wafer, graham cracker, white chocolate chips, etc. I don’t understand why I couldn’t get the base of only pistachio (especially when I’m trying to be some what health conscious). After paying, they told us we had to wait 20 minutes for them to change the nitrogen tank. The icecream was not all that good. It tasted more like just plain vanilla ice cream. To top it off, it wasn’t cold enough so it made a HUGE MESS dripping constantly. I will never go back.
I really appreciate how they delicately perched the cookie dough on top of my scoops so the minute I moved they rolled off, it’s great
Great ice cream
Pretty awesome experience watching the creme freeze and then being handed a cup you can’t help but spill it’s so full.
Shows open, and they said they won’t open until 12. We actually got there at 10:45 waiting, the workers just looked at us while preparing and at 11:05 finally told us that they open at 12. I honestly think they should have been open, just weren’t prepared for the business. Very unprofessional.
Seriously good ice cream, the peanut butter ice cream was amazing
The product is delicious but one of your employees ( girl) had a bad attitude...
Workers werent informing
They bullied me
Prices were high but worth it
Very goiod
Great selection
Ok
Good service.
Cone and syrup-like ice cream.
