Went there to see about getting work done on my 1986 Trans Am. The owner, only one who works there kept telling me he is very busy and to call him back in 2 weeks. This happened twice so when on my 2nd call a month later I was told he did not know when he could fit me in. I was told he picks and chooses which jobs he takes and I believe it. I never called back after that and would not recommend due to my experience

Don is a great mechanic. He’s honest. I had my first interaction with him this week. My car had a small issue that was the result of a sensor not being plugged back in after an oil change. He didn’t try to sell me anything or recommend services I didn’t need. He fixed the problem and did not charge me anything extra beyond his basic diagnostic test fee, which I might add is much lower than a dealership. He has it in writing that he will call you if his costs are going to be over $100. I told him he had my permission to do whatever it took to get the car fixed as I had to go to work and would not have been available to take his call. He said he would call me anyway because he doesn’t like surprises and doesn’t expect his customers to either. He got my car in the same day and quickly enough that he called me before I had to leave for work. Even though I had verbally given him a blank check to do whatever the car needs to get fixed, he was honest and did not take advantage of my situation.It appears he works alone in his shop. When you walk in you see several awards from community events he has been a part of over the years. Classic cars are in the lot and on his racks. Beautiful vehicles that you definitely would not take to anyone less than the very best. I admit that when seeing all these beautiful classics I was nervous that I was about to be visiting a very expensive mechanic. That couldn’t be further from the truth and I am so happy my car had this small issue. It was worth it so that I could find an honest and skilled mechanic. I will take my vehicles to this man for any service beyond my own abilities until the day he retires!
