This is the meat factory filmed in the later TCM movie. It is a real plant and store selling good quality meats. Unfortunately they were closed when I took photos of the building, so I didn’t get a chance to buy some of their great looking meats. The building itself is very eerily knowing it was used in the movie.

Took two venison hind quarters in to have jerky and summer sausage made everything was perfect very professional, packaging was superb. This is a great place to get venison processed.

Overall a good experience. I was hoping to find lamb or mutton, but no such luck... I didnt have my hopes up too high.I did ask about having sheep/lamb slaughtered, and got some short answers from a women wearing a mask behind the counter with her back to me. It was very hard to understand. She finally came to the counter to speak with me, but she seemed really busy and desiring to go back to her other task....so I didnt get to have more than a 10 second conversation ...although I was able to verify they slaughter and process sheep, goat, and pigs.....I wasnt able to ask about lamb.I purchased some beef short ribs...they looked great.Will go back for sure!

I observed that when cutting meat on the slicer that they slice the deli meat and the raw meat without sanitizing the equipment. I also observed them not washing their hands and using gloves while handling the food, They handle money and everything else and never wash up. I’m retired after 35 years of being a food service manager and I do know that that is wrong…No more for me.

Excellent selections of beef and other great meat choices. You can get custom cuts too. They also have spices at great value prices! I spend a lot of money there. People are, well, nice enough, but they are Taylor folk, so do not expect too much😁

Ive been a customer for as long as I can remember. My grandparents brought me here since I was a kid. Its almost tradition. I hope I never see the day where Taylor Meat wont be there.

When I went there recently I DID NOT see them wear gloves nor did I see them wash their hands when they were handle various meats. I saw them go from writing with a pen, to punching in numbers on a calculator, to punching numbers on the cash register, to adjusting their glasses on their face, to touching various meats and packaging them....BUT I NEVER EVER saw them wash their hands or put on gloves before handling the various meats.And we Americans wonder why we cant stop people from getting sick from viruses and bacterias.Thats just horrible!!! 😞

Love the red weiners, very good but little pricey. Wanted to take more meats, but little pricey. But I will contine going.

Ive never tried the beef sausage they make here, but I thought I would try it. I was really disappointed, as I bit into them I noticed it had pieces of bone, I assume bone it was white. I thought it was just an isolated instance but all of them were the same. I dont think I try them again.Careful when you bite down, it will hurt your teeth.

We love coming here for the thirty-two pound meat package. Sometimes they are out of it though due to various issues, but they always offer to take our number and call us when they have some ready. The service is almost always very good and work fast. Everything seems kept clean as well.

Awesome staff! I could never find a good quality Chorizo until my husband bought some from them. It is the BEST Chorizo I have ever had and have been buying it from them ever since. I recommend this company 100%.

I love Taylor meat market! Ive been coming here since I was a little kid. I love the pop wieners. Come for the wieners and stay for the summer sausage. Red little pop of heaven.

They have a lot of fresh products and the staff us always friendly. Ive been going here since I was a little kid and everything is still run the same over the years. Their red wieners, chopped ham, & moon cheese always tasted better than buying it at the supermarket. Its worth it to stop if youre ever in Taylor.

Owner writes bad checks and doesn’t pay his suppliers. We tried contacting him to pay two hot checks and no reply. Terrible way to do business. Pay your bills Ron! Update: Owner hasnt paid.

We ordered a half of ham for Thanksgiving (2014) for the first time from Taylor Meat. A half ham turned out to be about 8 lbs. with the bone and was a perfect size for our dinner. The ham was ready for pick up on the day scheduled and the ham was delicious. Were ordering another for Christmas. Service was fine and friendly. The place is not fancy but it sells great ham.

Our company hosted a Independence Day Bratfest for 60+ employees. We wanted great Brats, not store bought Brats. I spoke with Ron who offered to custom make 100% pork Brats marinated with bock beer. The flavor was great! I was on the grill and got the credit, Im here to tell you, Ron and April deserve the credit. Well be back for Thanksgiving Brats for all of our employees. I highly recommend!

I purchased some meat there about one year ago. The man behind the counter did not wear gloves. I will not go back. I am surprised that this place has lasted this long since it changed ownership.

The customer service at this company is TERRIBLE! My family and I entered into a small bbq cookoff this past weekend. We picked up our meat Friday afternoon, no problem. Put the meat directly into a cooler with ice. Saturday morning my husband and I went to get the baby back pork loin ribs out to start seasoning them, the smell from these ribs is not anything we can describe! We immediately began to gag as the smell was horrible! We threw the ribs (some were still frozen by the way) into the dumpster. Ran to HEB and bought more so we could compete in our cook off. I called Taylor Meat this morning, I had no intentions of getting our $ back, I really just wanted to let them know that they sold rotten meat and they could have gotten someone very sick. At no time during this conversation with a woman, I didnt even get her name, did she ever say I am sorry about that. The briskets that we purchased did not have a horrid smell, however they were not as fresh as they should have been. We will not be using them again, and I would encourage others to do the same. There are plenty of other meat markets to purchase from.

Its always great except we didnt get our round cheese. Long drive but its worth it.

Not having something to send to butcher, but buying from their counter I was thrilled. It is hard to find breakfast sausages, hot dogs, and other charcuterie like I was used to at a local butchers shop back in Indiana. This place offers it. As well as ring bologna, and a few other things that are harder to find.

Better then heb and Walmart

When you lift the tail of a horse, you will find the employees of Taylor Meat Co. I personally fed a steer 25 lbs of sweet feed per day for 5 months as well as kept a bale of alfalfa as well bermuda hay available and provided the cleanest well water in robertson county ( state tested as cleanest water in texas ). Got a referral to these pricks from my local bank teller ( whom i later found out was related and must have enjoyed my steaks royally ) and took him there out of blind trust since my previous butcher passed. From an 1100 lb steer whos ribs were invisible due to the excessive marbling, i got back 12 sirloins with absolutely no marbling whatsoever and having had fattened steer steaks previously from a related butcher who i helped gut a few, receiving grass fed beef after months of feed, i contemplated an ass whoopin but decided to fatten another rather than bologna sandwiches again. Nuff said
