I stopped by The Coffee Mill while visiting my friend’s family in Tehachapi. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience! First off, the cafe was nicely decorated and very clean. It felt almost like a large living room in someone’s home. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and really enjoyed it. It was well balanced, not overly sweet, and very creamy. Overall a relaxing and memorable outing. I recommend it!

This coffee shop is really a great place to hang out and enjoy some time to yourself. Their coffee was really good. On of the workers said that they are working on starting to roast their own beans in the future which Im very excited for. I enjoyed a flat white with oat milk. It was really flavorful and full bodied. It was like a cup of comfort. I also enjoyed my warm cherry tart. It tasted very fresh. The pastry was buttery and flaky. My wife had their apple turnover and said it was really good as well.The servers were very friendly, warm, and inviting. They worked well with and around each other in the prep area.Over all, this is a great little shop and Im excited to see it flourish because it is well on its way.

I absolutely love this place. It is so charming and so much space to sit. I love the patio out back and it extends all the way around the building, so if you dont find a seat right outside the door, keep looking!

The Coffee Mill has perfected the entire coffee experience - cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and thoughtfully crafted drinks. The owners are truly passionate about their menu, constantly innovating their drinks and making me wonder if theyre secretly wizards. All of the drinks Ive had are magically perfect - from the lavender latte to the Tumeric Citrus tea. They have a mastery of flavors that is unmatched. Additionally, they offer fresh pastries and food items that are impossible to ignore.I think Tehachapi is truly lucky to have this gem of a coffeehouse. It ranks #1 on my list, beating even the countless coffee shops in LA.

Super attentive staff. No phones in sight. Super clean and incredibly inviting atmosphere inside and out. I enjoyed an iced mocha paired with a cranberry orange cookie as recommended by staff after explaining it was my first visit. I then enjoyed the views from there perfectly placed outdoor table. I highly recommend stopping in.

Food and drinks are delicious. Great atmosphere as well. I highly recommend the breakfast bagels.

I guess its called Kamenz Café now (formerly the Coffee Mill; according to the sign on the front door), but apparently Google didnt get the memo.The coffee is really good and the atmosphere has a very mellow vibe. Perfect for hanging out with your friends or getting some studying done. Theres also outdoor seating for those with pets or children who dont wish to sit still. The staff is very friendly, too. And patient with you even when you ask where the trashcan is that youre standing right next to. They serve food, but thats probably not why youll visit. Its perfectly adequate café food, but only just on the good side of mediocre.

I go through Tehachapi often, both for work and to visit my parents in Lake Havasu. This is my go-to stop because they make great coffee drinks and the service is stellar! Beautiful little cafe, great people, and good coffee! Highly recommended.

I love this place.When I walked in I was so relieved to NOT see masks. As we enjoyed our delicious food we felt life was normal. We are happy to support all this place offers and stands for.I drive out of my way to grab breakfast and some coffee because of what they stand for.

Just stopped at the Coffee Mill for lunch on our way from Utah to California. What a great surprise! The lunch specials (BLT and Turkey ciabatta) were out of this world—served warm with a side of fruit. Coffees were well executed and the service was excellent. We plan on stopping by every time we are in the area—it’s worth it!

Very impressed! Staff catered a vanilla lavender latte for me which was delicious and a veggie scramble that was as beautiful to the eye as the tummy. Fabulous place to stop and locally owned too. I had read reviews about unfriendly staff to outsiders and didnt get that at all. The staff was friendly and clearly enjoyed talking to each guest.

Love this place! I am a college student and have studied in so many cafes but this one is my favorite so far. I have come to this place almost everyday now. The ambience is warm but not overwhelming. The place is very tastefully decorated. And the coffee and food are really good. Would 100% recommend this place.

Nice, cozy place to get great coffee and snacks, bring a laptop and get a little work done. Good selection of drinks, including non-caffeinated beverages and a variety of snacks for continuous energy. Great way to get my writing going with plenty of caffeine and WiFi.

Best road trip coffee stop weve ever made, helped us discover a surprisingly cute town and the espresso and food are epic.

Great prices, view, and atmosphere. Double shot with a touch of steamed soy. The drink was smooth and without any bitterness - delightful. Chill vibes in the backgrond.

They can make pretty much anything and are very nice people. I go in several times a week and spend at least and hour each time just relaxing and chatting. It’s an amazing environment to spend your time off. I used to go to Starbucks but since going to the coffee mill I can’t find myself liking anything from Starbucks anymore. The coffee kill is full of great people. The owner and his wife are very nice and do their best to make people feel comfortable.

Great coffee and excellent ambiance. I love meeting friends here. The music is kept at a conversation level. I come here alone, too, when Im working on a book or a blog. The place has a warm, welcoming feeling and the staff is top notch. Im partial to the cinnamon rolls, but my friend swears the coffee cake is the best she has ever had. Sometimes Ill get a coffee to go and then stroll the downtown area. Love this place.

Not one person was wearing a mask— neither customers nor employees. I bought a mocha and a muffin, the mocha was fine but the muffin was full of mold. Customer service was alright, but really disappointed about the moldy $4 Costco muffin and the lack of covid safety requirements .

I love this place, the coffee is great and employees are friendly. Two stars sadly because both times I’ve been in during the covid 19 pandemic (once at the beginning of the pandemic and once again today) no one wears masks nor are there any safety requirements posted and it’s busy inside with lots of people. There were 3 women working with no masks and 5 people inside without masks. Due to this I will not be returning until the virus has died down.

I was passing through and went here on a whim. They are super accommodating! Listened to what I wanted and made it happen. Great service, coffee, tea, pastries, and food.

Great place and great BLT Pesto sandwich. Met the owner and very friendly staff. I got a huge Iced Latte for about $5. Really strong tasty coffee. Ill definitely be back when Im in the area.

Get yourself a good coffee and/or pastry or a sandwich....great food. Comfortable atmosphere inside or the back patio.Friday has live entertainment...really good singers and nice songs that anyone can enjoy.The owners are kind enough to let us have Bible study in the evening on Thursdays which is really cool(thank you for that).

Really pleasant café shop. It offers a welcoming and relaxing environment. I enjoy their Americana coffee there is no bitter taste in any of the coffees I have had here. Wither Im in the mood for a hot drink or cold drink, depending on the weather lol. We are in the land of Four Seasons in Tehachapi. Stop by and have their Tomato Avocado Toast, the bread is toasted perfectly, the avocado is creamy with just the right amount of avocado chucks, spread evenly and beautifully through out the toasted bread topped with cherry tomatoes and the perfect blend of seasonings. YUMMY! Its my favorite!

Employees werent even wearing masks and the food was OK dont recommend, basically a Starbucks off brand/ripoff.

So happy they have longer hours now. Try the Lavender Latte, not overpowering or sweet. Just right!☕ Hard to find places that even make a lavender latte. Prices are good, now I have my go to coffee place!

Coffee was great and overall look of the place is great for a coffee shop and thats the only reason for even giving two stars. The customer service was absolutely terrible. In a small town like Tehachapi everyone knows everyone and they quickly pick up on people who arent from the area and they treat you like an outsider and barely say a word to you other then what your ordering. I was uncomfortable 30 seconds into walking in because they all just stare at you like why are you in there to begin with and will laugh and carry on with every other customer except the outsiders. I expect better customer service then this and do not appriciate how they treated me like I was an annoyance in the middle of their work shift but they made sure to laugh and carry on with the rest of the customers. Ill take my services elsewhere.

If you go to Starbucks your missing out on a much better experience! This small town coffee shop is far superior in every way! Great atmosphere friendly staff! No corporate feel here! Highly recommend! Great coffee great smoothies!

We have always enjoyed this coffee stop and they do have wonderful coffees, teas as well as foods, yet on this last trip through I was a bit surprised to see the workers who prepared these items, not wearing masks during these uncertain times of Covid. 10/2020

Cute little coffee shop in Tehachapi, I liked the honey latte with almond milk, not too sweet.The people working there were friendly and the vibe was nice and chill. A spot like this is needed in the area so I like to go and support whenever I’m in the area. Try it!I was in and out rushing so I didn’t take pics but it had the cute latte art we all love.

Wonderful coffee, great customer service, and a great place to relax and read a book or catch up on some work.

Would give 5 stars, but I’ve repeatedly had bad service from the same staff member. She has dark hair that is usually slicked back and held in a bun. Never remotely pleasant, claims food isn’t served until 7:30, but that only happens when she is on the register, and makes the coffee so hot I have to wait ~35 minutes until I won’t burn my tongue drinking it. The food is excellent and they coffee is great when she doesn’t make it. She’s there often in the early morning and tends to ruin the excitement of having great coffee and food before work. Someone please get her to stop being so miserable and help her figure out the right temp for some decent coffee.

Came in at 9pm for an after dinner dessert. So glad they are open till 10pm. More places need to be open later in Tehachapi. I had a brownie affogato it was AMAZING! I highly recommend. There coffee, teas and breakfast lunch items are very yummy too!

Disappointed that not one staff member was wearing a mask or practicing any sort of COVID-19 guidance. I asked the baristas what the guidance was for them and they told me they didn’t know.In addition, the small dining area had patrons, not one wearing a mask or practicing social distancing.I’d like management to explain to me their rationale for how they are mitigating the risk for their employees and patrons.I hope that this was just an off day and The Coffee Mill can use this review to reinforce the proper practices to their staff during COVID-19.I will not be visiting again any time soon.

The coffee is fantastic. The staff is friendly. The place is always clean (including the bathroom). And there is always friendly patrons we end up striking up a conversation with. We like to go frequently and just enjoy the total experience. We used to go to Starbucks until we found The Coffee Mill. We love the atmosphere in there. Even the music they play is soothing.

We stopped here on our way to Death Valley, well worth the slight detour from the highway. The coffee was excellent and the breakfast sandwiches were some of the best ever. The atmosphere is clean, inviting and relaxing and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Saw a sign on the interstate and decided to pull off and get coffee and was not disappointed. I ordered a snickerdoodle and my husband ordered the caramel Reese mocha. The inside was very very clean and had a warm wall-fireplace. Cute and glad we stopped.

Visited The Coffee Mill for the first time today and was exceedingly impressed. It was very clean, welcoming and pleasantly decorated. The barista was friendly, helpful and efficient. Our tea and coffee drinks were excellent. I would highly recommend The Coffee Mill.

Use to come here all the time, when the owner was there. Went on a weekend and asked what would they recommend for something sweet she said theres our flavors and point to the wall, absolutely rude girls working there. Mocked us behind the counter when they thought we not looking, and the drinks got thrown out tasted bad... havent been back since.

Pretty great quaint place. Wish they were open during off hours too. Spent amazing time here with a special lady so i will always have fond memories of it.

Best place to get a cup of coffee and some breakfast. Drinks are made great and the staff is wonderful. I come here everyday because there coffee is the best way to start the day off.

The coffee mill embodies the spirit of the local community. The baristas are friendly and the food items are crafted with care and creativity. During my day there I had a light roast coffee that was both refreshing and delightful. No cream or sugar needed, but still bold enough to satisfy my enjoyment of a strong roast. I had the breakfast burrito whos contributing flavors included red bell peppers, sausage, and bacon cut thick enough to provide meaningful flavor and texture. However, it was not until lunch that I felt a positive review was not only called for but demanded. I had the grill cheese with pepper jack cheese and bacon. The pepper jack cheese was rich and creamy with a mild spice that anyone without a severe spice sensitivity could enjoy. The bread was crisp and buttered to perfection. The coup détate though was the house made pickles. Oh my I am at awe of the creativity. The pickles had an audible crunch healthy kick of spice that pleasantly surprised me. This by far was the best pickle I have ever had. Thank you coffee mill for a great experience and I look forward to my next visit.

Absolutely phenomenal hole in the wall local coffee shop. My favorite thing to do is travel around trying different coffee places but this definitely has me struggling to explore more around town. Ive tried a few general drinks and a few specialty flavors so far, and at this point, am just trying to find something I dont like. The food is fantastic, to the point it literally makes me smile to eat everytime I start. For the breakfast foods, definitely ask for some salsa. Absolutely. Bomb. The atmosphere is both bright and warm, well decorated without having too much going on, and seating is available but not crowded considering floor size. All around, my absolute favorite coffee shop in Tehachapi, and so far out of all the places Ive stopped in the US.
