Did The Distillery tour, was amazing, highly suggest it. Did dinner and drinks, great food and atmosphere. Warning, no table service, and the bartender had zero customer service skills. He made good drinks, but made us feel unwelcome. Still giving it five stars, because I can see all the areas the owners really take pride in their craft...
This place is great! They have a fun menu (can recommend the Fruity Pebbles stuffed french toast--not nearly as sweet as it sounds--and the chicken and biscuits with sausage gravy), good beer, nice cocktails. I had an excellent cocktail made with carrot juice. Because... vitamins.
These people are awesome. The tour was fun and interesting. The liquors are great and different than others Ive had. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Awesome staff and friendly bar tender. Loved it!
We had a terrible experience here. Terrible food, the pizza was burnt and had so much flour on it we could barely eat it. Bartender was on their phone almost the whole time, seemed angry that we were there. Never checked in with us or asked how our food was, we didnt have any interaction with them until it was time to pay, even though we were pretty much the only people in there. Never coming back here again, I dont know how they have any good reviews. Even the drinks were seriously subpar, out of the 4 drinks we all got, only 1 was any good.
Took a tour recently. The staff was super friendly. Loved the story and naming of their spirits since it payed homage to AZ history. Mixed drinks at the bar were delicious, and I was happy with how smooth their spirits were. Looking forward to when their brandy will be ready.
Went on the tour/tasting and it was awesome. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Great place!
I went here with my brother and a couple of friends, it was a very cool place. We had a tour at around noon on a Saturday, very open chill bar with a rustic decor vibe, comfortable couches-seating. The bartender (Justin I think his name was-hopefully Im not wrong here) was amazing, above and beyond on making cocktails, like incredible attention to detail and quality you just wouldnt find at any old bar. I ordered a whiskey sour, which was pretty good. I also ordered a margarita at the end of the tour which was very delicious. The distillery tour was a little on the warm side but I understand they were going through a process of getting electrical configured back there (updated) so its all good. The A/C in the bar area was perfect. Very cool tour/tasting experience/bar experience. They have a really good happy hour from 4-6pm everyday which is $6 cocktails, I will definitely try to hop in here for happy hour one of these days because I think thats a very good price for the quality (fresh juices).
Wonderful cocktails and a low key vibe for happy hour. Kitchen service now available.
Such a fun little spot. Friendly staff, amazing flavors. We had a great little tour. Looking forward to the next visit.
My husband and I had a tour of the distillary and it was informative and a perfect length. Thankful it didnt drag out forever like some. Try the No Name if youre a bourbon fan - so good!
Great whiskey and good vibes
We took the tour with Maggie today and she did a great job. She was informative and explained things well. They have a neat little set up. It seems slightly cluttered and a mess, but it seems like they know what they are doing and have a good thing going. We were able to try the Mission Vodka, Commerce Gin, and Copper City Bourbon. The vodka was pretty strong. The gin had a strong lavender taste. The whiskey was on the sweeter side. But all three burned and I’ve decided I won’t be becoming a drinker unless it’s mixed in with something else! Great experience here though. The bar was a chill and relaxed place, but slightly awkward as there weren’t many people there.
This is a hipsters paradise. The Old Fashion is like no other I have ever had. The bartenders were very quick to make you a cocktail. Super low key as well considering how close it is to Mill.
Had a great time here. Great people. Great service. And amazing atmosphere. Cool vibe. Great music. Love the low lighting.. Gorgeous bar top made of a single piece of a tree. Something I have never seen. All liquor made in Arizona. Only liquor though, they dont have beer or some of the more common liqueurs but if you are looking for a chill cocktail bar, this is the place to go!
The place was totally empty when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. I had a Bourbon and some mushroom toast and both were okay. Staff was not very engaging.
Hosted a small networking event at AZ Distilling Co on February 13th. This place has a wonderful atmosphere, delicious cocktails, and an even better happy hour! Micah is an amazing bartender and will take great care of you and your guests. Perfect place to have a get together with friends, co-workers, or just a nice place to wind down after a long day. Would highly recommend checking this place out if you’ve never been!
Update: Tried several additional spirits which were VERY good, their Gin, several other bourbons, and especially their Cask Aged Bourbon which is roughly 118-123 proof but doesnt taste strong or off-putting as some of the higher alcohol content bourbons or spirits usually do. Its very smooth and has a really unique finish, nothing like any other bourbons Ive had.Love their Durham Desert Whiskey and Copper City Bourbon. Cant wait to try the rest of their spirits, and visiting the Distillery is on the top of my list when Im in the area.
P.s. thank you for resolving the issue so quickly. It is much appreciated
A much needed addition to the Tempe scene; a great place to grab a cocktail, listen to music and enjoy good company. Perfect for a pre/post-dinner drink, date night, business travel or catching up with friends. Their kitchen isn’t open yet is it’s bring your own food which being next to Perfect Pear leaves a great option. The owners are very knowledgeable and welcoming. I was shocked how reasonably priced their drinks are given each one is carefully crafted. After just coming here once, I never want to leave.
Ryes, bourbons, wheats, and malts... Arizona whiskey done right. Classy digs for a chill and relaxed vibe. Tours available to be booked to see how they operate their wonderful tastes. Worth every penny spent, and not a low end well whiskey sour. If you havent been you dont have worry go now! Its tasteful and delectable
Company and atmosphere was great.
Best service.. had a great time hanging out. Thorn knows how to make a great drink.
We had a tour of the distillery yesterday and it was awesome! We learned a lot and got to drink some of their whiskey, vodka and gin. Staff were super friendly and we really enjoyed our experience there. Definitely will be back!
Happy for such an amazing cocktail place so close to home! But I’d honestly drive across the valley for drinks and service this good!!
Great cocktails, and they were beautiful! Would love to know what playlist was on. Loved all the tunes!
If you want to support a local business and want to find out from an very passionate guy how vodka, gin and whiskey is made, I would 100% recommend it. The owner is very knowledgable and gave a good tour. Its not a large distillery but makes some very good tasting alcohol.Tours are by reservation or calling ahead, its just one guy doing everything so dont expect to just show up. I dont like gin at all, but would recommend giving theirs a try. I like whiskey and theirs was fantastic, hands down loved it. Vodka was a good vodka.5/5 will go again.
Im sitting in the establishment right now and can tell you Ill never be back. If judged on drinks alone, it would get five stars. Unfortunately, staff seems to be unaware of what service industry means. Though my friend and I are sitting at a table and there is literally only one other table of people in the place, we have had to go to the bar to get everything. The bartender (Micah) has been standing at the corner of the bar talking to who I assume is the cook the entire time. We were not welcomed when entering. In fact, he seemed put out by having people walk in. It definitely hasnt felt like a friendly environment and I wish wed stuck with our original plan of going to Perfect Pear next door rather than trying this.Weve been doing some internet sleuthing while finishing our drinks and read that Micah is an award winning mixologist. He may make good drinks, but his attitude certainly wont win any awards.
Great playlist, great atmosphere, great value (especially during happy hour), comfortable seating and most all - delicious cocktails.Small mixup while ordering, got the wrong drink. Bartender approached after Id sat down and started drinking, he made me a new cocktail for free. 5/5 service. If youre visiting or live/work nearby definitely drop in for a drink, you wont be disappointed.
Allowing dogs to annoy ppl not cool. Never coming back
Cool place to have some grown up cocktails. Not a lot of options in the Tempe. This is my new go to.
Kentucky Buck one of the best Bourbon drinks I have ever had, solid place with solid happy hour, highly recommend if you like Bourbon or tequilas
Manager is catty and doesnt make you feel welcomed if you are not his type of people.
OK, this place is really cool. A few local guys get together to make a living doing something they are clearly very passionate about. The place is tucked away in kind of a hidden place near downtown Tempe. They are growing like crazy and making quality spirits while working with local growers and other local establishments to create quite the name for themselves.Contact them about taking a tour. Youll lear about their processes and about their business model and youll sample some really good bourbon, whiskey and gin.You can purchase their products there or you can find them in a ton of stores around town.
I like gin martinis and the Commerce Gin is a favorite of mine for weekend martinis. You get a sense of subtle desert botanicals. However they do it, it works. Their Humphreys Whiskey is also a favorite of mine and out of town friends.
Terrific find with excellent spirits and nice food menu to complement. I tried the duck rillette and was not disappointed. Both the wheat whiskey and rye were terrific. What really really stole the show was the double barrel bourbon. It competes with some of the best! Terrific service and staff really round out the experience. Would definately recommend to anyone thats a fan of artesian distilling. Well done!
Arizona Dry Gin is the best I have ever put to lip. The hint of pine is truly refreshing.J.J.
I would say 3.5 - but wish I could give it more! For their selection 3 ⭐️For their efforts 3⭐️For the taste of their sprits 5 ⭐️For the facility - 1 ⭐️For their attention to customers 2⭐️Basically I love their spirits but hate their facility.I get their small & I am thrilled to support local small businesses BUTIf you are going to have any business in Phoenix AZ you have to have air-conditioning!! Come On !!!!!!!!All week its been over 110 and you dont warn people when they make a an appointment that you have to confirm??? Really? Then once you have them there trapped in the heat on tour after the standard 3 tastings you tell them that there is an additional flight they can purchase...you dont offer it as a Thanks for coming to our inferno facility and hanging in there when its over 115 WTH???
Fantastic whiskeys and gin. i do not like gin, but theirs is amazing.
Award winning spirits!
Bought a bottle of Copper City, YUM!
Amazing!!!
